Hey the first episode of Re:Zero season 3 was pretty good.

And it sure did have a shocking ending...

big guy gives her a severed head / :^)

  the sound of approaching footsteps, thunderous enough to seemingly shake the foundation of the hospital, redirects her attention toward the source, temporarily distracting from her latest project. she’s sitting on bloodied tile, legs crossed and hands busy stitching what had once been a doctor, but now, was nothing more than a macabre toy. broken and soon to be cast away.

   it never takes long for the appeal of her unusual habits to wear off, and for doll to wander in search of something, someone, shiny and new to entertain her. but he’s spared her the trouble of searching —– or so it seems.

    this isn’t the first time their paths have crossed. he was a marvelous sight to behold, on any occasion, his brutality unrivaled, awe inspiring even,  but she’d witnessed enough of his wrath to know to tread with care. keeping to herself, far from the reach of those hellbent on harassment, cannibalism, or marriage. so as he halts before her she scoots back instinctively, maintaining distance, not out of fear but rather caution. gaze trailing from the variant to the head now slowly rolling in her direction.

  what’s this ? a gift ?  for her ?  she’s never been gifted anything before. how sweet !  and it reflects in the manner she beams up at him —— obsidian eyes and ruby lips illuminated by what dim light a nearby hallway provided. 

                            what a marvelous specimen indeed !

  gratitude comes in way of an outstretched arm, enthusiastically pointing in the direction of the control room. where a certain little pig was meddling. oh how she’d love to hear it squeal.

❛ look at me, man, i’m the very  picture  of healthy. ❜  he manages a rough smile, though something about it is off.  the reality of his situation is betrayed in the circles under his eyes and the pallor of his skin.  it’s visible from the way he picks at the edge of the blanket to the messiness of his hair and the scruff on his chin.  ❛ i can rest when i go home. ❜  josh stares at chris with a look that  screams  expectation.  he’s had enough of sitting here, enough of talking to doctors who don’t  really  care.  ❛ i’m better now.. ❜  his grip on the blanket tightens.  why  didn’t  anyone  else  visit?  something bitter churns in his gut.  he’s  only  doing  this  out  of  obligation.  ❛ i’m good.. ❜
