Trying to decide if Chidori not being a boss fight in September means I should move Yusuke's awakening to not that or change it into a boss fight because like. Child kidnapping.

I mean I guess I could redo the entire thing because idk if Chidori would expect Yusuke to have a way to contact SEES during the Dark Hour like she would with Junpei so maybe she like. Calls them before the dark hour and tells them to call off the operation and Hamuko. Is. Sooo chill about this yeah.

So the gang splits up with Minato taking one group to find the full moon shadow and Hamuko and the rest splitting up to find Yusuke.

Junpei guessed the dorms because it's the last place they'd check but doesn't tell anyone because he wants to talk to Chidori on his own because a) he wants to hear the truth from her, b) it's kinda his fault that Yusuke brought up that Hamuko was the leader to Chidori, and c) if there's somehow a good reason Chidori kidnapped Yusuke he wants to give her a chance to explain herself before Hamuko tries to kill her.

So they go and hash out a version of what happens in canon but uhhh hm. Oops. Yusuke actually got away from Chidori earlier (and maybe stole her evoker or something idk I haven't decided and he's just.) Sprinting to Pawlonia Mall because he figures that's where the others are because apathy syndrome victims have been showing up around there more than usual and they'd never ACTUALLY call off the operation and then uh.

Either he gets jumped by a shadow or runs into the Hermit and oh boy it's Pygmalion time this boy can fit SO much repressed rage.

And then they beat the hermit and take Chidori into custody and everything happens the same as canon because Yusuke is not allowed to visit Chidori in the hospital and his sad baby fox eyes are strong but not as strong as Hamuko's determination to like not leave her brother alone with the person that kidnapped him

(They can talk later I just don't want the Jundori scenes getting interrupted, they're important to me)

There's also a secret rank 11 to Junpei's social link that's just him and Hamuko slugging it out on a riverbed because "ARE YOU FUCKING DATING THE PERSON WHO KIDNAPPED MY BABY BROTHER WHAT THE HELL?"

Next is Kakashi - who's one of my favorites! - though I think this would would be more of a slow burn bittersweet story until his soulmate can slap some sense into him. After losing everyone he loves in the span of what? A decade? Or something like that? It can really mess with a person's love map and because of that I think Kakashi would really fight against the idea, at least for a time. I see him, honestly, looking forward to finding his as a child and really excited and happy about it until he finds his dad. That's where he'd fight against and even scorn the idea of having one and not just behind closed doors but publicly as well. Which of course would put him right against Obito's happiness for it. Then I think he'd really close himself off to the idea and him actually having one period after the war where he loses Obito and Rin with Minato and Kushina not too long after. If he did find his soulmate or they found him really, because he's not looking for them, it would be a hard road for them to get together and him accept he won't lose them too.

Lee. *brushes off hands* I rest my case! No, but, really, Lee would love to have a soulmate. After all the picking - kids can be so cruel! - and scorn because he can't use chakra we all know that even if it was platonic soulmates our youthful ninja would embrace that with open arms. I haven't thought much on him because while I love the theme and symbolism behind his character he's just not a personal favorite. (Cue the trash throwing!) Seriously though, just like Naruto, Lee would actively search for his soulmate and I think this would be a topic you stayed very, very respectful around him on. Soulmates are beautiful people and bring out the best in their partner, they are precious and to cherished deeply. And do not for a second think the boy won't throw fists if his own is being bad mouthed or disrespected in any way. 😤

Neji - where are my Neji stan fam?!?! - for me at least, would be another that would have a hard time accepting that there's someone out there for him. Would he secretly want one? Totally. Would he believe he deserved to have one? I don't think so, at least not until Naruto gives him a what for with his talk-no-justu. Afterwards, I see him starting to open up to the idea but very slowly. I don't think he'd be like Kakashi but he's not a Naruto or Lee either. It would take time to not only accept he has one, but if he finds them, that they'd actually love and care for him. His mate would really have to work and keep at him to break down those very high walls but when they do it'd be magical. They'd be so precious to him but - and this is just me - I see it being his soulmate who'd be the one throwing hands in regards to Neji. Am I right??

Honorable mention: Shikamaru. Here's my other big fav, the lazy genius himself. I had to add him despite this being so long already! I love my beautiful Nara sloth. So yeah, I was totally behind the Nara's Obsession idea. Total soulmate idea written right in!

Okay, so I was fully prepared to disagree with you when you said Kakashi, but I think you actually explained yourself well! Because you're right, Kakashi does not want a soulmate. He doesn't believe that there's someone for him. Maybe one day there was, but now, he's too damaged to have a meaningful relationship.

And I LOVE the idea of conflict between Kakashi and Obito because Obito can't wait to meet his soulmate, and Kakashi think that's stupid.

I think Kakashi would run from meeting his soulmate, but after the war, if his soulmate was stubborn enough, I think they would slowly become part of his pack, even though he resists them at every turn lol.

I'm going to gently disagree with you here.

Neji is super interesting when it comes to soulmates, because of his beliefs in destiny. He probably does believe in soulmates, and he's fully expecting to marry his soulmate. He just doesn't expect to be that happy with the situation. He thinks his destiny is to serve to main family with an advantageous match.

To actually get a soulmate that's someone good for him? It knocks him off balance. He's suspicious for a while, I reckon.

But I don't think he's anti-soulmate at any point, mainly resigned.

But yes, you're so right that he gets a soulmate that protects him. Neji's soulmate is always ready to fight for his honour haha!

One day he finds a paper trail of obito’s fur that got sold so he insists that they come together as a pack once more to hunt it down. Minato is reluctant because he’s got a kid and a job and all

Secretly, obito is still alive. Once a wolf loses its fur it can no longer shift into a wolf, like a selkie. So he’s fully human, but he’s a HUNTER. None of them have ever seen Obito’s human form so they don’t know it’s obito.

So they all cross paths looking for the fur and Kakashi hates obito for trying to take that fur away from him. they’re like enemies to lovers, with only obito knowing they have a history. Obito ends up forgiving Kakashi for the perceived betrayal that got him “killed”. right when Kakashi thinks he loves the human hunter back, he steals Obito’s fur! How could he!? But then obito puts the fur on and reveals his identity ❤️ Happy ending kind of

I’m a grown woman but the child inside me has been saddened by the Naruto 99 poll.

1. Kakashi didn’t win the teacher poll, really?? Minato didn’t teach his team anything! He sent PTSD-Kakashi to the ANBU, and he failed to be on time 2 times, costing Obito and Rin’s lives. When it comes down to it, Kakashi is the best teacher; he can quickly identify his student’s strengths and weaknesses, and then tailor an entire exercise regime according to his analysis. For example, him utilising Naruto’s shadow clones to exponentially increase his training output was genius! The only minus points is his evasive nature. It’s hard to get a hold of him most of the time.

2. Kakashi fans dividing their votes between the likes of Minato and Sakumo. I am confident that Kakashi would be higher in the poll had the manga announcement not come out.

3. Tsunade not being in the teacher poll!! My god, that woman deserves an award for training two normies (Sakura + Shizune) into being lead healers in the field.

4. The toxic fan wars. The toxic Sakura fanatics attacking other fanbases in order to prop up their Queen. The misogynists. It makes me not want to be in the fandom entirely.

5. People mistaking this special manga opportunity as an entire fleshed out series/spin off. From the article translation it’s mostly going to be a one-shot centred around the character. If Minato wins, I can see the one-shot being about his relationship with Kushina. If Sakura wins then…. maybe a chapter with her and Sasuke? To further milk the SasuSaku cash cow. I don’t know what they’ll do with Shisui or Itachi either. Sakumo seems to be an interesting one since we don’t know anything about his life prior to his depression and eventual suicide. So I would have like him to win but he’s too low on the Top 10 for me to even dream it. People forget that the Kakashi childhood content, apart from the Gaiden special, is not canon. His childhood with Sakumo, ANBU days, Hokage period are all unexplored so that’s a gold mine for Kishi.

As much as I want Sakura to win as a big fuck-you to the toxic Naruto fans, I fear what will happened when Kishi is put at the forefront of representing Sakura’s character. He already failed during Sarada’s manga special. I can’t see it being any different unless he lets someone else write the plot.

I share a lot of these thoughts with you, anon! They shouldn't have mentioned manga for winner at all. Then it would be more interesting.

I'm scared that if Sakura wins, then it indeed will be more Sasusaku. I would prefer to read about her training times with Tsunade more, about her friendship with Ino or her family.

Tsunade not being in the teacher poll is ridiculous. Same goes for Kurenai.

For Itachi - I would like to read more about his Akatsuki time. But I'm bet it's not gonna be about it and instead about Uchiha fam.

Eu não estou acompanhando mais B0rut0, só vendo alguns spoilers que aparece de vez em quando (e me deixando cada vez mais decepcionada com a história medíocre e satisfeita por ter abandonado), mas eu estive pensando sobre a atuação de Shikamaru como Hokage. Qual é a sua opinião sobre as ações dele como 8° Hokage? Honestamente, para mim, Shikamaru parece um Danzo um pouco mais agressivo e astuto ao mesmo tempo, e se for comparar com a nossa história mundial, Shikamaru seria um presidente republicano, de extrema-direita disfarçado de direita moderada, porque Shikamaru sabe lidar com política e é menos burro do que Trump, Milei (Argentina) ou Bolsonaro (Brasil)

I think Shikamaru's rule as 8th Hokage is abysmal which I definitely agree is more on the republican side. Shikamaru's reign is closest in line with Tobirama which we all know how that turned out, there was some good but hes the one who created hostility within the Uchiha clan from how he handled them after the 9 tails attack. Yes he didnt want another Madara to happen but by doing so he made the Uchiha resent them from being put under constant watch and scrutiny, they werent even allowed to help in the second 9 tails attack because they feared they would take over the 9 tails, which put the village in even more danger and caused even more casualties by not letting the Uchihas get involved just because they THOUGHT they might do something. If a gang of Uchihas jumped Obito and tamed Kurama themselves Kushina and Minato probably wouldnt have even died, but they were SO fearful of them POSSIBLY doing something [following Tobiramas mindset] that they ended up screwing themselves over in alot of ways and creating the very hostility they were trying to avoid.

Shikamaru is very much that kind of leader, from the very beginning he didnt trust Kawaki and was always at his throat for whatever petty reasons he could think of, accusing him of crimes he never even committed because he just ASSUMED he would just because he could even though hes done nothing but been on the villages side up till then. Yes Shikamaru wasnt entirely WRONG that it couldnt have all been an act to gain their trust but he shouldnt just ASSUME that to be the case right out the gate and be hostile with him before hes even sure of his betrayal.

Shikamaru doesnt think twice about pimping out a kid to the enemy if its to the villages benefit, he pretends he doesnt mean to impose on his person feelings yet thats exactly what he did, he made a deal with Ada to trade Kawaki in exchange for her switching sides and told Kawaki to just deal with it and play nice not giving him any say in the matter and just deciding all of this on his own then springing it on him all at once, acting like hes sorry when he really isnt.

When Kawaki warns Shikamaru that he senses Momoshiki up to no good, instead of hearing him out he tries to emotionally manipulate him by using Narutos face when he killed Boruto to get him to stop, but this only made the situation worse as it just made Kawaki go talk to Naruto and Hinata directly to tell them what he plans to do out of respect for that being their son, if Shikamaru had listened to him instead of guilt tripping him then Naruto and Hinata never would've gotten thrown to the shadow realm because Kawaki's focus was on Boruto, Shikamaru is the one who brought Naruto into it making Kawaki go confront him instead since like Shikamaru said, thats his son, so its only right for Kawaki to go discuss it with him before he does it since he knows how much its gonna hurt him when he does.

Up till that point Shikamaru had been extremely hostile, insensitive, and downright aggressive with Kawaki, which only made him already feeling like he didnt belong and wasnt accepted even worse because even tho the Uzumaki fam, team 7, and team 10 all told him this was his home and considered him their family/friend, it didnt mean anything when you had ppl like Shikamaru at his throat making him feel the opposite.

In 79 Shikamaru shows his biggest display of incompetence by asking Kawaki what he did, and when he doesnt get the answer he wants to hear he just calls him an irredeemable bastard when once again, he doesnt even know what he did yet and just automatically assumes the worst because of his own bias against him, the same way Tobirama had a bias against Uchiha's except for the few he liked like Kagami.

Shikamaru has seen first hand how much Naruto means to him, he even has a whole convo with Amado about how overly attached Kawaki is to Naruto, so for him to even THINK Kawaki brought ANY harm to Naruto is just straight up ridiculous and 0 IQ thinking, which is beyond OOC for a character whos IQ is over 200.

Instead of immediate hostility he should've been asking about what Kawaki meant earlier, why did he think Momo was up to no good? what did he sense? and defuse the situation by telling him along the lines of that he KNOWS he would never hurt Naruto so he knows whatever he did that Naruto is safe and ask him WHAT exactly he did, then Kawaki might've been more inclined to tell him since he isnt just downright attacking him and not listening to him. Its been shown time and time again that when people listen to Kawaki he is usually cooperative, but if your hostile and accusatory towards him then he just gives back that same energy, and Shikamaru has been hostile towards him since day one so theres no surprise he didnt answer him when he asked what he did to Naruto.

Then finally the biggest incompetence on Shikamaru's behalf is literally relying on Ada instead of his own sensory team, he doesnt KNOW Ada at all and has no way of proving if what she says is true or false because hes not even having it double checked. He has the Yamanaka just be human telephones when they can literally sift through someones entire brain to gain all kinds of intel and see if their lying, the Inuzuka and Aburame could iterally track down Boruto and Sasuke easily if he wanted em to, he aint need to rely on Ada but he did, he should've had Ino and the rest of the Yamanaka pick Ada and Amado's brains to see if they were tellin the truth and if they refused then take that as them having somethin to hide.

Shikamaru doesnt even question Ada telling him that Boruto [Kawaki] killed Naruto, he just believes it even though that doesnt align with anything he knows about Kawaki up till that point, him killing Naruto never should've even been a thought as a possibility, he should've immediately thought 'No that cant be right...hes way too attached to Naruto to ever do that'

No amount on omnipotence counters hard evidence, Sasuke realized it when he saw Boruto with his headband and sensed Momo inside him, Amado realized it when he saw Kawaki's enhancements and knew they were done by him, so Shikamaru should've realized that Boruto [Kawaki] would've NEVER killed Naruto under any circumstances no matter WHAT Ada said, he should not have just taken her word on it, on ANYTHING without sufficient proof.

The fact that he trusted Ada and Amado faster than he did Kawaki, which was never, is absolutely astonishing and a real showcase of his bias towards on particular person. Notice how even as the 8th Hokage now he makes NO exceptions for Boruto, yet Amado still gets to be active in a lab just under survellience now AND allowed there alone with a kid, and Ada can just roam freely around the village despite her charm ability enchanting everyone who sees her which just puts more and more ppl in the village on her side that'll do whatever she says now if she ever choses to go against Konoha, they cant just attack civilians so it'll be a very difficult situation to navigate.

Atleast I will say Amado is being watched, but Ada is walking around unescorted with zero restrictions, yet when Kawaki first came to Konoha Shikamaru wanted to lock him away in a secure location because they didnt know who he was or what he might do, but Amado can just get away with being under survellience and Ada doesnt get anything and is just free to do whatever she wants, but Kawaki even BREATHED funny or acted even a little outta pocket or hell if he even just THOUGHT Kawaki was up to no good this is how he was treated.

Keep in might this is AFTER he just got finished telling Naruto not long ago that Kawaki was justified and that this was something Boruto asked for to protect everyone.

This is the one and only time he defends Kawaki but then he backtracks immediately, showing that he didnt actually mean what he said but was just trying to get Naruto to act to take down the threat, but in all honesty Shikamaru saw Kawaki as a monster who killed Naruto's son and would do anything to achieve his own goals, rather than being just a misguided kid doing what he genuinely believes is right for the good of Naruto and Konoha even if it means killing Boruto against their wishes. Kawaki actually has more of the Hashirama mindset, which kinda explains why him and Shikamaru clash similar to how Hashirama and Tobirama would over their differing ideologies.

Tobirama was strict and tough and had clear obvious biases that resulted in alot of things going badly because is his extreme methods of trying to prevent it actually making what he feared happen.

Hashirama was more chill and open minded, he didnt have a bias and wanted to Uchiha to be treated equally, he even wanted Madara, an Uchiha, to be the villages first Hokage but he was denied the position because of peoples bias towards the Uchiha and they all preferred Hashirama and named him the first instead despite his protests. But in the end Hashirama as much as he loved Madara as his dear friend he made it clear that be it his friend, brother, or even his own child, he will not hesitate to kill anyone who is a threat to the village.

Kawaki has the Hashirama mindset, he will kill anyone, even his own brother for the sake of Naruto and Konoha, as cruel and as heartless as that sounds it is not wrong, Madara was a threat to the village and couldnt be reasoned with so no matter how much Hashirama didnt WANT to do it he had to kill him, the same applies to Kawaki with Boruto, no matter how much he doesnt WANT to do it he HAS to because of the danger he poses to Naruto and the village that nobody but him is taking seriously and willing to act on.

THIS is what he does to Kawaki just for thinking he did something bad

And this is what he does seeing Boruto literally taken over by Momoshiki and helping Kawaki escape

Literally no reaction at all, not even a mention of wtf just happened, just 'everybody go get Kawaki!' like mf did you not just see Momoshiki casually take over and help him escape? why is this ok with you!?

But again its just another prime display of his bias towards Kawaki. But the biggest show of his bias is his response to what Kawaki did which at this point he still didnt know WHAT exactly it was that he did.

This baffoon puts out an execution order ON A CHILD that he doesnt even know what crime he even committed yet, he could kill Kawaki for something as tame as what he did, which is sending him to a timeless dimension safe and sound, and Shikamaru is having him executed as if he committed genocide like Itachi. The fact that he doesnt even KNOW what Kawaki did yet is so quick to kill him speaks volumes of just how biased he is against him.

Because no matter WHAT Boruto did or WHAT harm he caused Shikamaru NEVER held it against him or gave him any punishment, hell he literally gave Boruto the hero treatment AFTER HE STABBED SASUKE'S EYE AND NEARLY KILLED THEM ALL but Kawaki who LITERALLY SAVED THEIR LIVES got nothing.

And now 3 years later hes still ignoring any arguments of his innocence because he is just THAT BIASED that he's willing to not question ANYTHING just so he doesnt have to let up on the kill order. No amount of arguements from Sarada and Sumire were enough to sway him, but now that AMADO is ALSO saying something now he wanna listen? the bias he has for which enemies he listens to and which he doesnt is insane.

So you wanna know my thoughts on Shikamaru as Hokage? I think hes abysmal, he has such a vast and highly efficient sensory team that he doesnt even use and relies on the enemies word over all else, the Yamanaka are no more than human telephones who have literally listened to Sarada and Sumire's entire conversation about omnipotence yet never reported it. Shikamaru is Hokage yet Kawaki is out there danm near running the village by himself and ordering Shikamaru around like hes the kage, which just shows even more of his bias since he thinks he's Boruto, so if Boruto was as bold as Kawaki is he could run Konoha WHILE still under the threat of being taken over by Momoshiki with zero opposition and everybody would just fall in line. I dont think Shikamaru stans understand just how hypocritical and incompetent this makes him look.

He has the biggest piece of hard evidence to prove if Kawaki is really Boruto or not and thats the shut down function Amado mentioned, the hardest evidence that Shikamaru absolutely CANT deny because Amado literally TOLD him this is the key to settling any doubts once and for all but Shikamaru never even considered it because he really WANTS to kill this kid, he doesnt want anything that could prove his innocence no he wants him DEAD and he refuses to question anything that might give him a reason not to.

All in all Shikamaru is a buffoon and a disgrace to the Hokage seat, hes like Tobirama if Tobirama was completely incompetent in everything he did, and Kawaki is like Hashirama but to a greater extreme, this is explains why him and Shikamaru clash but that in no way justifies his blatant bias towards Kawaki and the hypocrisy on what lines count as treason worthy of execution and what can be excused.

I dont blame you for dropping the sequel, I myself wish I dropped it earlier WAY before I got this far but now that I've stuck by it this long I might as well finish it, so to anyone who drops this sequel Im here to tell you ya dodged a bullet because this is some steamin hot GARBAGE. Now I see why Kishimoto didnt wanna do a sequel, because he had no idea what to do with it and neither did the ppl he left in charge of it. Its a hot mess and he knows it and thats why he refuses to acknowledge its existence and is only around for other series or just Naruto related stuff. Anybody who believes that man is writing when he wont even SPEAK on it is beyond delusional, idc what any third party says, if the man himself aint comin out an sayin it then Im not buyin it, his name isnt even on the cover as writer, just creator/supervisor. Just stop it.

After some math, I have apparently posted over 52k words on ao3 this year… which is a whole lot more than I expected

Looking back did you expect to write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expect:

I’d say more? Most of it got poured into Stygian Ringlet, though, since that’s my main fic and it’s a longfic.

What’s your own favorite story of the year?:

Stygian Ringlet is probably the obvious one, haha. I can’t help loving my boys

Did you take any writing risks this year?:

The P3/Spy X Family crossover was an unexpected surprise, but it was really fun to write for! The crossover spawned in the Marigolds discord, and boy was it fun to brainstorm ideas for Persona characters that could appear. I especially had fun with Shinjiro’s moments. I was actually working on another oneshot after Strangers Are Just Friends You Havent Met!

Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?:

Trying to hammer out more of True Crime Special on the Midnight Channel, aka my IT Akiren fic. I feel like it should have a bit more groundwork planned out to do it justice, but it may end up being relatively short anyway. Who knows! :)

Best story of the year:

Outside of my main fic, I was really proud of how Red Strings and Frogged Stitches came out! It always bothered me how Yosuke would treat Kanji throughout P4 (especially since Yosuke heavily reads like he’s gay and in denial about it), and I was really in the mood for a fic where Yosuke finally apologizes and they talk things out between them in a way that does them both justice. Of course, after months of them being at odds, it would take more time than just one night and a talk, but it’s a first step in the right direction.

Ddefinitely Stygian Ringlet haha

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:

Red Strings and Frogged Stitches; not too surprising since it’s a P4-only oneshot and centered purely around Kanji and Yosuke

Most fun story to write:

I have a lot of fun writing Stygian Ringlet (because I love my boys), but I also had a lot of fun writing Shinjiro in the P3/Spy Fam AU!

Story with the sexiest moment:

Sweetest story:

It’s a hard pick between Red Strings and Frogged Stitches (which I explained above) and Strangers Are Just Friends You Haven’t Met (because Shinji reuniting with Koromaru and Minato and meeting Anya is cute as hell)

“Holy crap that’s wrong even for you!” story:

Ehhh none really? (Unless you count the cliffhanger I did for ch. 11 of Stygian Ringlet lmao)

Hardest story to write:

True Crime Special is giving me some difficulty, but starting new multi-chapter fics are always a little rough while you try to find your groove.

Biggest disappointment:

Idk… I guess that I haven’t written more of my other fics? I tend to focus on the main one, but I’m really determined to see that one through. I do want to write more P3/Spy Fam oneshots, though.

Biggest surprise:

Stygian Ringlet’s popularity. Like, holy shit.

Did Minato and Kotone ever find out about Ren's visit to their grandparents?

Yes.

The entire family as well as every witch in the series that far know about Ren's visit to his grandparents.

The full story goes like this.

Ren, Naoya and Tsubaki travel to Sumaru City for an annual gathering of witches. Think of it like some kind of Thanksgiving or holiday social or something, I have no idea but everyone is there. On the trip up there, Ren overhears his parents 'talking' about his grandparents. You can figure how that conversation went.

Now, Ren has no idea about his grandparents. Tsubaki is loathe to talk about them and for good reason. However, it's annoying for him this time around since he has a school project involving his family that he needs to do, and he wants to include his maternal grandparents in it. Talking to Tsubaki about it doesn't go well. His aunt's lips are sealed. Minato and Kotone aren't saying anything either.

Upon learning that they live in Sumaru City as well, Ren takes advantage of the hecticness of the gathering to sneak out and track down his maternal grandparents. Long story short, they're nice until they find out that Ren is their grandson from Tsubaki. Hanae is a wicked witch when it comes to personality, so when she flips after finding out Ren's identity, Ren is sincerely hurt and leaves in a hurry before he ends up doing something on accident he'll regret.

Meanwhile, the fam realizes that Ren is missing. Realizing where he might have gone, Tsubaki and Ayame go to confront their parents. It doesn't go well -- Tsubaki nearly loses her shit -- but it's made worse by the fact that Ren is no longer there.

luckily, magic is useful and there's one protagonist with precognition and another with retrocognition that come in handy.

While everyone's looking for Ren, Ren himself ends up lost since he doesn't know the area very well. He finds himself in the park where a somewhat familiar face who gives him some decent advice on what family actually means. Blood doesn't mean anything, it's the relationships that do.

So Ren sees the truth for what it is. His family are the people who love and care about him. He does get scolded by his parents at the end of the day, but the experience was worth it and it would show in a few years when he meets the Phantom Thieves.

So long story short, Minato and Kotone do know about it since they tried to warn Ren against it, and were a part of the search to try and find him.
