Happy for Milwaukee Bucks @Bucks Win the 2021 @NBA Championship! It brings good memories for me about the city of Milwaukee where I used to live there, graduated from University of Milwaukee - Wisconsin @UWM_sarup, and got my first built project over there. The story started with my connection to Mr. Marvin Fishman who one of the original owners of the Milwaukee Bucks. Fishman was instrumental in raising money to bring the Bucks to Milwaukee and drafted @KareemAbdulJabbar. The @Bucks won an NBA title in 1971. The love of jazz music connected me with Marv Fishman who was a good friend of the famous jazz pianists Ramsey Lewis and Ahmad Jamal. The Terrace Avenue project was commissioned by Mr. Fishman to me as my first project in Milwaukee. It took two years of public hearing before it was finally built. At the end, feel proud that my design was standing side be side with Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Sullivan house design located on the Historic Preservation area in the city of Milwaukee @DiscoverMilwaukee. The C&O Car Ferry Service in Milwaukee The Badger (built 1951) is still in service—to transport people and automobiles; currently it makes runs across Lake Michigan between Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and Ludington, Michigan. When I saw it back in the late-1970s, it was sailing from Milwaukee on the Wisconsin side, where these two pictures were taken. In the first image, Chesapeake & Ohio EMD SW9 number 5091 (built in 1953) looks on near the C&O ticket office as the car ferry Badger prepares to steam across Lake Michigan. In the second image the Badger has just been loaded and preparing to sail.

I believe railroad car service was in operation from 1953 to 1983. After a hiatus and uncertain future, it was rededicated (in 1992) in as a non-railroad car ferry. Images by Richard Koenig; taken in the late 1970s.
