THE ADVENTURE OF CHARLES AUGUSTUS MILVERTON - part one of several, because this is one of my favorite Holmes stories! Ever since I read it I had a feeling there was something more...personal...going on with Holmes's hatred for Milverton than simply a principled stand against blackmail. A lot of this is directly pulled from the books but of course I took it in my own direction!

This is in the Watson's sketchbook series, and specifically references the Hound of the Baskervilles entry in that series :)

Tiny rant about Milverton:-

From a characters stand point, I hate this guy. If I could, I would make his death day an official international happiness day for everyone to enjoy, because this man's death is a net positive to, not only the whole country, but also, this world.

But also:-

As a deranged villain fan, I LOVE HIM. Omg he's so much fun I can't help but think "this guy is such a bitch... I love him". Sure, like I said, I would celebrate during his funeral and throw a massive party right afterwards, but then this guy is so goofy literally all he does is plot intricate crimes, blackmail someone, driving someone to murder by orchestrating the murder of his family, digging up dirty secrets about their past just to use it against them when they finally forgot about it, and not to mention the fact that this guy is smart enough to connect the dots and find out that William is the Lord of Crime [which, mind you, the only other capable person to get this answer was London's greatest detective] and all of this shenanigans, just because he was in silly, goofy mood?? I love that SO. FUCKING. MUCH.

In short, as a villain, love him. As a character, hate him, even Satan flinches at the sight of this guy.

For a long time now I have this post in me, but I always wanted to analyze what the colors of Milverton and Ruskin's clothes could mean. This will be just a bunch of ideas instead of a proper analysis, because I have lot of different ways to look at it.

Milverton has a purple suit in the anime while Ruskin has green. Unlike most of the cast, Milverton doesn't wear his eye color as his tie, he wears a black one - on the other hand, yellow's complementary color is purple. Ruskin has a similar tie to his eye.

The color purple generally symbolizes ambition and power while green is peacefulness and order.

If we talk about the symbols of the colors when it comes to outfits, purple was the color of royalty while green (the muddy type what Ruskin has) was worn by the lower class in the Victorian era England (another hint of Ruskin being lower class beside his brownish skin and his behaviour around violins).

And purple and green combined are generally villain colors - think about Maleficent or the comic book designs of Lex Luthor or Green Goblin's outfit.

Or Joker. I am highlighting him because the White Knight arc where we actually see the color of Milverton's suit is based after The Dark Knight movie and Milverton has the role of Joker (who turned the white knight Harvey Dent into the villain Two-face). The anime drew even more attention to the similarities between the Batman movie and the arc - Whiteley, unlike the manga, here gets blooded to half of his face after he commits the murder to look more like Harvey Dent after he became Two-face. And Milverton's suit is purple like Joker's was. But Joker also wore green - and Milverton's missing green from the Joker outfit is found at Ruskin.

And there's a really simple explanation, too - they look good in purple and green! ❤️

Put Milverton around the same as Albert. Make them interact in school. Make Albert the first person Milverton corrupts. It's so easy when the world is so wrong and Albert wants so badly to do good. It's so easy to turn those impulses towards destruction.

Albert and Milverton actually have very similar MOs, they'd be very powerful together

So I get Code Realize is an otome so I shouldn't expect like, 100% in line characterization with the fictional characters the ROs are based off of (thank god for that actually) but it did hit me with a massive pet peeve of mine regarding a certain someone:

Sherlock Holmes, at least in ACD cannon would not fucking say that. There are multiple stories where he says the main reason why he doesn't work for the police is because he enjoys not having to abide by the letter of the law. He regularly lets people off the hook (even if he maybe should not, read Hound of the Baskervilles) and generally dislikes the idea of harsh punishment for any crime that's not murder.

Now granted this is Herlock Sholmes, not Sherlock Holmes, but they are both literally the same character. No really, the creator of Arsene Lupin wrote several stories featuring his thief one upping Holmes that Doyle sued him for so he just... came up with that name and continued clowning on him.

Anyway rant over. But if you are interested in the original Holmes stories I would highly recommend the YouTube channel Magpie Audio. They are all there in wonderfully narrated audio book form for free, novels and short stories included.

I swear I dreamed the weirdest dreams I ever had in my whole life-

The first dream is about a Disney princess, which is Rapunzel but not actually Rapunzel at ALL. The second one isn't too weird but just flat-out terrifying and confusing, rich people buying with credit cards. I was more of a family to them but not blood-related, something like a relative relationship. I was the poor using cash lmao-

As for the Disney princess dream, it's not really Rapunzel, but instead, I dreamed about Louis 😭💀 I was not there physically since I was a wandering spirit, looking at the perspective both at the same time. The tower does indeed looked similar but still different. The tower has black vines surrounded the entire place, I'm not quite sure how it works but it was slithering with negative energy. Louis was stuck in that tower, he had no idea and why he's there, that poor man woke up and got manipulated for no absolute reason😭. The second dream gives me the creep, there's no any weird things happening except the first.

I gave a whole detailed story about the first dream in my diary, here's a whole explanation about it:

"Once upon a time, there was a young boy stuck in a trapped tower. For some reason, there was no purpose of killing him at all so he was just there, stuck forever. Rumors were told that those who rescued him will have the biggest rewards, yet, rescuing a boy trapped in a tower is highly impossible."

It means that Louis, who is trapped in a tower is not like Rapunzel. If we're talking about his appearance, then he had no long magically hair. My dream only focused on him, there are no other accessories or anything else.

"Different methods were try and failed, those who seek the young boy was none other than his own family and friends."

Knowing Louis's reputation, he's not as popular like his older brothers, he's only known for his beautiful face due to the resemblance like William. Louis could never live without his family, his attachment to them are the reasons why William is still there for him. Hence, he's the only person wanting to stick by William's side, it's natural for them to get worried for Louis if he ever disappeared.

"During his confinement, he mostly clean the tower and make delicious food, the stocks always came back, it feels like someone is watching him."

For this one, I wasn't sure who is monitoring him since the person didn't showed up. I'm just gonna assume it's Milverton keeping him confined in a locked place with no escape. Or maybe— he did something to Louis and manipulated his mind, considering he is a king of blackmail after all.

"The first person who came to the trapped tower was Albert, who brought William and Louis into his family. Upon inspecting at the tower, there was a black vines, it could mean it doesn't allow any people to come in very easily."

As I said before, the black vines are negative energies, Milverton possibly reached out a fucking witch so that Louis could never get rescued. And yes, I feel bad for Louis.

That's the end of the full explanation, my dream ended so abruptly that my first thoughts when I woke up was: That was fucking wild.

also!! i recently got into black butler! the anime of course because i am a broke bitch and all my money is going to yuumori stuff ANYWYAS- grell is my favorite. as well as the undertaker and tanaka!! i tried drawing sebastian in the corner, but i might've messed up the hair a bit?? i also forgot what the design on grell's coat looked like so,, random bullshit ensued-

no yeah i am familiar with the source material i read all/most of the og sherlock holmes stories a few years ago and i think moriarty the patriot is a very cool and interesting adaptation. and also on a meta level i think it’s very funny that somebody looked at the Big Bad Final Boss Of Sherlock Holmes Stories and went “but what if he was a pretty anime boy who was gay for sherlock” and then just ran with it

It's everything to me it's wonderful. Afaik the og Moriarty also didn't do identity theft and arson as a kid but as far as I'm aware that also never got brought up so who knows really but I it is very funny you're absolutely right about that.
