Smut Thesaurus [18+/NSFW]
By request of the discord! Here’s the smut thesaurus I’ve been building to help me write. It’s even longer now because I included some extra words from The Ultimate Guide to Writing Smut Fic by QuinnAnderson on AO3.
How many words are there for “penis” and “thrust” (that aren’t completely cringey)? Here are all the ones I’ve gathered so far 😂
It’s going under the read-more cut because it’s over 1,000 words in bullet-point form so it is loooong.
EDIT: Here are some additional pointers!

Guys I need your help. I've found a series of three PERFECT fan arts of Daniel and Armand but then I lost it. I think I didn't save it. I don't even remember if it was on here, on Instagram, or Pinterest or literally anywhere else.
It had all three versions of Daniel and Armand (book, movie, series) and they were painted in the same poses, like Daniel was sitting at the table and Armand was standing behind him, maybe holding a hand on Daniel's shoulder or something like that. I don't remember but I remember it was beautiful😭😭😭 If anyone knows what I'm talking about and if anyone has seen it pls send me the link. It was genuinely one of the most creative things I've seen and now I can't find it.

my friend said that I can't make a list of the reasons why season 1 is way better than season 2, so here it is. I'm not saying that season 2 is bad, it just... isn't as good.
1) The flashbacks.
Stede's and Edward's feelings were often explained with flashbacks, showing their childhood or Stede's marriage. But, unlike usual flashbacks, they were not done to show the audience the character's backstory, but to show what the character was thinking at a particular moment. The attention to detail is amazing. A grown and dangerous pirate who hides under his only friend's robe and physically flinches when he hears a knock on the door. The same pirate who builds a house out of pillows and hides there after getting his heart broken. All their story was about healing your inner child.
2) Found family.
The way the Revenge crew helped and protected each other was incredible. Stede read them bedtime stories, they slept on the deck all together, like in kindergarten. Even when they said bad things about each other, they loved each other sincerely.
3) Breaking stereotypes
A womanizer (poor choice of words) who turns out to be the most loyal and heantly partner? An ex wife who is finally not shown as a villain? Queer characters whose issues are not related to their sexuality or gender? Partners who are also best friends? Yes please.
4) Tolerance.
Every attempt at homophobia, transphobia, or racism on this show is ended in a moment. When the English officer called Frenchie a slave, Jim instantly threw a dagger into his hand. We immediately assume that none of them are cishet and we turn out to be right. None of them need to explain identity. You're not a man and not a woman? Are you sure you're not a mermaid? No? Then let's eat cake, Jim.
5) Interesting characters.
I won't even talk about how perfectly written Stede and Edward are (although I will talk about that later). What about Jim, Lucius, Izzy, Jackie (can you believe she has less than ten minutes of screen time?), Frenchie, Oluwande, Mary, Fang? I wanted to know more about everyone.
6) Characters' actions always make sense.
Each character has such a well written personality that their every action makes sense, even if it annoys us. We were all angry when Jim went for revenge and didn't return to the ship with Oluwande, when Stede returned to Mary leaving Ed on the pier, when Ed threw Lucius overboard and left the crew on an island to die, when Mary tried to kill Stede. But each of these actions fits perfectly with the characters’ personalities and you can't deny that.
7) The right kind of the unspoken.
Throughout the second season, I had the feeling that the writers thought considered us stupid and had to say everything explicitly. There was a lot that wasn't said directly in the first season. They didn't say Izzy loves Blackbeard, but it's obvious. They didn't explain why Edward tried to kill Lucius of all the people, but everyone understood it. They didn't explain why he chose to leave precisely those people on the island. They never spoke again of to the line about Jim's favorite color being tial and how they literally confessed their love when they said it.
8) Metaphors.
The great and dangerous kraken is a little boy, who is hurt by the people he loved? Stede is a lighthouse? The wooden boy? Mary's painting that Stede didn't appreciate a sign of his love for Edward? Stede's children kill him in his nightmare? Ed's red silk? Come on, this was perfect!
The only good metaphor in season two is Edward's leather.

Stede Bonnet is a Disney Princess
Evidence:
- He runs away to go on an adventure
- He has horrible parents (or dad at the least).
- He wants to defy his family and marry for love.
- He needs to be rescued (but can also get out of scrapes with a little ingenuity, modern Disney Princess style.)
- He dresses with lots of bows and frills (imagine him as a dress up doll! Hours of fun!)
- He doesn’t have an animal companion but he does have Lucius who guides him so it’s nearly the same. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- He makes friends with everyone he meets with very few exceptions.
- If he had suddenly broken out into an ‘I Want’ song at the end of episode 1, nobody would have batted an eyelid.
- He is overwhelmingly optimistic about his ideas.
- And finally, Stede and Ed are literally this picture:

Hello, would you be able to post tips on how to start a pirate au? This is my first time making one.
【 Hi! My tip for any au (or any story, really) is simply research. It’s important to understand the dynamics and realism. So I put together some pirate knowledge for you! I’ll probably make more posts on this soon. I’m thinking pirate terms, ship terms, common weapons, things like that. If you’d be interested, let me know. Hope this helps, and good luck on your story (: 】
The Pirate Life
warnings: violence
✶
↳ Drinks
⇝ portable drinking water was hard to come by so many ships carried an abundance of wine, beer, and rum
⇝ a famous mariner drink is grog (sugar-water, lime juice, and rum) which was known to prevent scurvy
⇝ another is bombo/bumboo (sugar-water, nutmeg, and rum) or rumfustian (water, raw eggs, sherry, gin, beer)
↳ Eye Patches
⇝ not only worn because someone lost an eye
⇝ worn to keep one eye adjusted to darkness
⇝ when fighting/raiding below deck they could switch the eye patch instead of waiting for vision to adjust
↳ Flags
⇝ not all pirate flags were black with a skull and crossbones
⇝ most pirate flags were plainly black or red (completely red flags were known as the most aggressive)
⇝ if there were designs, many adorned hourglasses to represent the inevitability of death
↳ Freetime
⇝ when not working, pirates often played cards or dice (although, gambling was against the rules on some ships), sang, danced, partied, etc.
⇝ stopping at ports was a fairly regular occurrence so they could take a break from the harsh sea to sell goods, repair the ship, and of course find women
↳ Life of Crime
⇝ sure, some people became pirates for the life of crime, but the overwhelming majority were simply sailors who abandoned their jobs due to horrendous working conditions
⇝ pirates were treated far better by their captains than navy men
⇝ there were even periods of time where pirating wasn’t illegal — governments would enlist pirates during wartime to plunder enemy ships. these pirates were labeled ‘privateers’ and legally allowed to operate under ‘letters of marque’ which basically made them military contractors
↳ Longevity
⇝ pirate careers were a few years long tops (even the famous blackbeard only lasted two years)
⇝ many were killed or injured especially because medical facilities were practically nonexistent
↳ Positions
⇝ well-run ships had a clear division of labor
⇝ positions included captain, quartermaster, boatswain, carpenter, cooper, gunner, navigator, etc.
⇝ the captain had absolute command during battle and chose where/when to go somewhere
⇝ the quartermaster oversaw ship operations and divided the loot
⇝ pirates were not as chaotic as media portrays — they were actually quite democratic
⇝ but the illusion of being brutal would be beneficial for plundering as the possibility of surrender was increased
⇝ most pirates were illiterate, but there were quite a few who actually came from higher social classes
↳ Raids
⇝ looting gold/silver was much less common than looting supplies (food, drink, candles, navigational tools, repairing equipment, medicine, etc.)
⇝ most pirates didn’t want to kill people — they would steal the goods and leave the crew (or let the crew join them) especially because the bounties weren’t usually worth it
↳ Rules
⇝ most pirate ships took their rules very seriously, with punishments being severe
⇝ common rules were against lying, stealing amongst themselves, fighting on board, gambling, etc.
⇝ walking the plank was not a common punishment (it actually rarely ever happened) — punishments were usually flogging, dunking, tying to the mast, hanging, marooning, or keelhauling

Hogwarts Inspired Writing Prompts
Writing Prompts
As kids, A would always tell B that they’re magic and have magic powers. B didn’t believe them, of course. Now as they reunite during the Hogwarts sorting ceremony, B realises that A was right.
After A is kicked from their quidditch team and replaced with B, A sneaks into their quidditch games and messes with B in the air.
After learning at Hogwarts used to have lots of balls, secret societies, lectures, and other forgotten activities, a group of enthusiastic friends decide to revive those traditions.
A group of restless students decide to form a protest over an arbitrary school issue. They don’t really care about the issue, they just want to do lock-outs, parade around with signs, and do over-the-top displays of rebellion.
A discovers that their best friend B is writing a novel and some of the characters resemble their friend group. To mess with B, A and their friends start reenacting some of the scenes of the book and acting like the characters in it.

4) “You can’t run forever.”
5) “Give it back.”

13) “I won’t turn ‘good’ for you!”
14) “Really should up the security on this place.”
15) “Get out of my house.” “I need to talk to you.” “Then go through the front door.”
16) “I can’t just abandon my job for you.” “Then neither can I.”
17) “If it was a perfect world, I wouldn’t be a thief to begin with.”
18) “I need you to steal something for me.” “How… me-like, Detective.”
19) “At some point, you will steal from the wrong person. After that, there’s nothing I can do to help you.”
20) “You can’t look the other way for me?” “No, not this time.”
21) “Give me the codes, Detective.”
22) “I do love a woman/man in uniform.” “...Is this what you say every time you get arrested?”
23) “Please don’t make me handcuff you to this pole.” “...” “I’m being serious, don’t make me laugh.”
24) “You need me, Detective.”
25) “I don’t need you, Detective. Never have.”
26) “Let me save you.” “I don’t need saving.”
27) “You’ve made it clear that you’ll keep stealing no matter what I do.”
28) “Just forget about me. Go find another detective to goad into your games.”
29) “And if I quit for you?”
30) “If I leave, you won’t see me again.” “Better than arresting you.”
SCENARIOS:
31) The detective handcuffs the thief to a pole, afraid they’ll bolt. Flirty conversations ensue.
32) Terrified of the thief getting hurt, the detective tries to convince them to quit their job.
33) After the thief stole a valuable artifact, the detective fumed. Trying to make it up, the thief returns what they stole and tries apologizing.
34) In the aftermath of their robbery, people were hurt. The detective doesn’t understand that the thief feels an immense amount of guilt.
35) Throughout their short relationship, the detective thought the thief was just a civilian. It turns out that they just want one of the detective’s belongings.
36) Trying to chase after the thief, the detective gets hurt. The thief breaks into their hospital room with chocolate and flowers.
37) The thief crashes in the detective’s apartment after a joint attack on a much stronger group of criminals. From here, the detective feels a conflict of feelings and duty to their job.
38) Narrowly escaping with their life, the thief agrees to leave town and never return. The detective, while the originator of that idea, doesn’t know how to cope.
39) They face a stronger enemy together and learn how easily they work together. Fluid like water.
40) Both the thief and the police department come to an agreement: the thief will quit their job and instead work for the police department. A great outcome, except the detective can’t go two seconds without being flirted with.

Okay, I've seen this post and it is absolutely ridiculous. So I had to make this giga post of my own.
I will address this. Yelena's creator has recently said the character is not aro and that that's a headcanon made by fans and talked about her sexuality and they are STILL denying that and trying to convince people that she is??
It is one thing y'all have a headcanon, no matter what said hc is, and it is beautiful. But saying these lies and sh*t? Please, I've read the comics, watched the movie and watched Hawkeye. Where is she suppose to be aro there, like this post claims?
In that ambiguous panel of the comic they always refer to, the one Devin Grayson confirmed in the past to have (as anyone who'd read the comics would notice) "many interpretations"?
Or was it when Devin used the word "aro" and later she admitted she used it thinking the word had a different meaning (they always choose to ignore all Graysons messages after this, because they deny what they want) and that she view Yelena more as an ace woman attracted by women?
Or was it last week when she shared a publication on her twitter referring as several headcanons (and she literally says the word "headcanon") to talk about these fans who would like Yelena to be aro and other headcanons to state Yelena still hasn't a specific sexuality not in the comics and not in MCU? (Plus she also answered this individually).
Tell me again exactly where it is that Yelena was developed as aro and why do you ignore Devin Grayson's (her literal creator) words when she's been asked about it. (There are several screenshots. Yes, after the one where she used that word wrong and then admitted it and clarified it. But they always ignore the rest). Thing she'll regret all her life, based on the last conversations with her where she says she's tired of having to explain this this month so many times and tired of watching people fight for this (at the bottom you can see she is tired of clarifying that as for now it is up to every fan to have any interpretation about her. I don't know how to make it clearer than this. She doesn't know how to do this anymore either):
I'm ace so don't even try to play victim with me, your sexual orientation doesn't excuse lying. What pisses me the most is that you ignore the character creators words when she's been asked repeatedly this month about this issue. She's given a clear answer (that Yelena being aro is a headcanon and she has not an established sexuality, therefore any interpretation of the fans about her is absolutely valid) and you still LIE to people and tell them "she is aro, it is canon" to invalidate their headcanons and their ways of being happy?? By making shit up and ignoring Grayson?? That's not fucking it people. That's being a liar, that will not get you what you want to achieve, that is not the way. And it will only bring you hate from half the fandom, at least. Be respectful and honest with others if you want them to be like that with you.
If someone needs a good post to read about this, explained with better manners, very well documented, thorough and detailed about this (panels from the comic, sticking to the canon, things said by Grayson, etc), here you go:
https://adamantwench.tumblr.com/post/672039357775069184/yelena-is-aroace-why-is-it-so-hard-for-you-to
If you want to see Devin Grayson literally addressing this issue this last month, here you go too (with screenshots):
https://adamantwench.tumblr.com/post/671481730904047616/take-a-moment-to-read-this-and-ship-and-let-ship
I don't want to hear about this anymore. I know I will and other people will too, sadly. And we'll clarify it again and again (although it is not something that needs to be clarified. But you keep lying to people and some of them believe those lies. So, we won't stop telling the truth either. I guess that sucks. As I said, getting validation does not condone lying, that is not the way to achieve anything. It's only the way to give you bad reputation and hate from the community).

I have some thoughts about something. So I made a post a bit ago about Kate x Yelena, and it gained a decent amount of notes. However, it has received quite a few comments about how Yelena is aro/ace in the comics. And while I think its super cool that is canon, and it would also be super cool if they brought that into the MCU, I just want to say:
People can ship whatever they want to.
Even if you don't like it. Even if you don't ship it. Even if it takes away from a certain kind of representation - like, I get it, I don't think I'd like it if Marvel decide to entirely ignore that part of her (though lets be real they probably will.) You can have endless problems with a ship. But people ARE STILL ALLOWED TO SHIP IT. Without you getting involved. Don't like something? Block it, ignore it, whatever you need to do. There are plenty of ships I can't stand or that I think are just plain wrong, but I don't go commenting on posts about it.
