₊。ꕤ˚ throwback: that bizarre time virote said some off the wall shit about nic cage because someone brave and stupid prompted him to open his mouth.
❝I think he’s sexy, but in a way that like… Walk with me, here. Okay, so, like. Imagine you go on a Tinder date, right? To a local restaurant, it’s probably like tapas or something. You look good. You’re wearing your favorite Nine West pumps. He sits across from you, candlelight flickering and Coldplay playing in the background. The Coldplay makes you wish you were dead, but it’s okay. He starts talking to you about how he collects teeth for his tea bags and once made a cake using toothpaste, cement, egg shells, motor oil, and putty. He details how he ate this cake. Gave the rest to his friends, who seemed to have mysteriously passed shortly after due to unforeseen circumstances. Your expression shifts a little, this conversation’s weird. Then, he starts talking about how one time he took a bunch of drugs in Nevada and had a hallucination at the Bellagio where he saw a pot roast singing showtunes at the buffet. Made him cry, like a vision of a deity. Holy. In passing, he mentions that his mother is a tree in the woods somewhere in Montana. He asks if Montana is even real, but you can’t answer.❞
Deep breath… Now, to continue. ❝He then says that he’s an arthouse director and that everything is an experiment to him. His last wife divorced him because he spent their savings on a fucking marble statue that’s literally just him but he’s cosplaying as Phil Collins. This conversation is weird. He hasn’t touched his tapas. Like, you ask why he hasn’t touched his food. He says that he doesn’t eat at night, he absorbs nutrients through the oxygen he breathes. He asks if you’d like having beef parmesan roll-ups eaten off your naked body in the middle of a public park during a mild spring morning, instead. You look at your watch. Oh, it’s only been thirty minutes since this date started. You eat your food and agree to sit in the parking lot. That doesn’t last long, because he tells you that he needs to go to his hyperbaric chamber and take a nap. You’re left mystified. Therapy is super interesting for you, that following Thursday. The next time you see him is near the frozen buffalo chicken pocket snacks at Trader Joe’s, he says nothing to you. You want him so bad and you don’t know why. You shouldn’t. The only thing you buy is some bananas and dish soap. In a daze. Anyway, he’s sexy like that.❞

BRAIN WOUND UPDATE #10: AVIV Clinic Press Release: Review of Scientific Basis of HBOT for TBI
Tumblr media
BRINGING YOU CURRENT INFORMATION ABOUT HOW TO HELP TREAT AND HEAL BRAIN WOUNDS: CONCUSSIONS, TBI, PTSD ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 01, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Aviv Clinics, one of the most advanced brain clinics in the world, shares the results of a new comprehensive literature review that shows hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) should be recommended as an effective therapy for patients suffering with chronic mild traumatic brain injury (TBI). Chronic mild traumatic brain injury occurs when symptoms from a mild traumatic brain injury are prolonged and last for more than six months. The literature review, The efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in traumatic brain injury patients: literature review and clinical guidelines, was conducted by the Sagol Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Research at Shamir Medical Center, Tel Aviv University and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s neurosurgery department, and published in the official journal of the European Society of Medicine, Medical Research Archives. The literature review evaluated articles and human clinical trials data from 1969 to April 2023 that provided detailed information on the type of HBOT treatment and clinical outcomes. The articles were categorized into acute-subacute traumatic brain injury and chronic traumatic brain injury and evaluated by HBOT experts and esteemed research leaders Dr. Shai Efrati, director of the Sagol Center and co-founder of Aviv Scientific; Dr. Amir Hadanny, chief medical officer at Aviv Scientific and chief medical research officer at the Sagol Center; and Dr. Joseph Maroon, vice chairman of the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. The literature review concluded that HBOT should be recommended for chronic traumatic brain injury for a selected group of patients suffering from prolonged post-concussion syndrome (PPCS) who have clear evidence of metabolic dysfunctional brain regions and who have been properly evaluated by standardized cognitive tests and functional brain imaging. Evidence involved in the review, including seven randomized controlled trials and six prospective studies, suggested significant improvement in cognitive function, symptoms and quality of life in patients with chronic mild traumatic brain injury. For acute moderate-severe TBI, the review concluded that HBOT may be recommended as a treatment but explained that further studies are needed to both evaluate outcomes and determine the optimal treatment protocols. Evidence in the review, including nine randomized controlled trials, one meta-analysis and two prospective studies evaluating the clinical effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in patients suffering from acute and subacute traumatic brain injuries, showed mortality was significantly reduced but mixed results for favorable functional outcomes in survivors. “This literature review scoured an immense amount of data related to HBOT as a therapy for traumatic brain injury, and the evidence that HBOT is effective against chronic traumatic brain injury is clear,” said Dr. Amir Hadanny, Chief Medical Officer at Aviv Scientific and Chief Medical Research Officer at the Sagol Center. “When looking at the comprehensive data over a larger stretch of time, we’re seeing the quality of studies have improved, and it’s exciting to see HBOT research heading further in the right direction. Many people are dealing with symptoms of chronic traumatic brain injury, and the current rehabilitation methods are limited in their efficacy. The science behind how HBOT can be effective is evident, and there is hope for those who are suffering.” HBOT is a medical treatment in which 100% oxygen is administered at an increased environmental pressure. Aviv’s unique HBOT protocol, the hyperoxic-hypoxic paradox, fluctuates oxygen levels during treatment and is being used to repair and regenerate damaged brain tissue in several types of brain injuries including traumatic brain injury, stroke, PTSD, long COVID and age-related cognitive decline among others. Previous studies from the research team at the Sagol Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Research have demonstrated the efficacy of HBOT as a treatment for persistent post-concussion syndrome (PPCS), suggesting that HBOT improves cognitive function, behavioral function and quality of life in both adult and pediatric patients suffering from PPCS at the chronic stage, even years after their injury. Aviv Clinics offers an advanced treatment program with a multidisciplinary team of medical experts providing patients with top-line care and the opportunity to improve their quality of life. The Aviv Medical Program includes an in-depth assessment of the patient’s physical and neurological condition to assess the fit for the program. For patients that meet the criteria, the Aviv team will then prepare a comprehensive treatment schedule combining HBOT with personal cognitive training, and physical and dietary coaching, for a holistic approach to patient health. The HBOT sessions are conducted in state-of-the-art multiplace chambers that are comfortable, safe and allow for medical staff to accompany patients during the treatment. The elevated pressure in the HBOT chamber creates an optimal oxygenation condition, ultimately encouraging damaged brain and body tissues to regenerate and heal. The full study is available here. Understanding Diabetic Foot Complications: Prevention and Treatment
Introduction Diabetic foot complications are a major concern for individuals living with diabetes. Without proper care, these conditions can lead to severe consequences, including infections, ulcers, and even amputations. By understanding the risks and learning effective prevention methods, people with diabetes can maintain healthier feet and overall well-being.
What Are Diabetic Foot Complications? Diabetic foot complications encompass a range of problems, often resulting from prolonged high blood sugar levels. These complications can damage nerves (diabetic neuropathy) and affect blood circulation, increasing the risk of injuries and infections. Common issues include foot ulcers, calluses, blisters, and in severe cases, gangrene.
Tumblr media
Symptoms of Diabetic Foot Problems Recognizing the early signs of diabetic foot complications is vital. Common symptoms include:
Numbness or tingling in the feet
Pain or cramping in the legs
Open sores or ulcers that heal slowly
Swelling or redness around the foot
Foul odor from wounds
Changes in the skin color or texture
Causes of Diabetic Foot Complications Several factors contribute to diabetic foot problems:
Peripheral Neuropathy - Nerve damage can lead to loss of sensation, making it difficult to notice injuries.
Poor Blood Circulation - Diabetes can narrow blood vessels, reducing blood flow to the feet and hindering the healing process.
Infection - High blood sugar levels can weaken the immune system, making it easier for bacteria to thrive.
Foot Deformities - Conditions like hammertoes or bunions can increase pressure points, causing sores and ulcers.
Preventing Diabetic Foot Complications Preventive measures can significantly reduce the risk of serious complications:
Daily Foot Care - Inspect your feet every day for cuts, blisters, or any unusual signs. Wash them with lukewarm water and mild soap, then dry them thoroughly, especially between the toes.
Wear Proper Footwear - Choose comfortable, well-fitted shoes that protect your feet from injury. Avoid walking barefoot, even indoors.
Regular Blood Sugar Monitoring - Keeping your blood sugar levels under control is crucial in preventing nerve and blood vessel damage.
Stay Active - Exercise improves blood circulation. Even simple activities like walking can promote better foot health.
Consult Regularly with Healthcare Providers - Routine check-ups can help detect potential issues early, ensuring timely intervention.
Treatment Options for Diabetic Foot Complications Prompt treatment is essential to manage diabetic foot issues effectively:
Medications - Antibiotics may be prescribed to treat infections. In cases of pain or inflammation, your doctor might suggest pain relievers.
Wound Care - Proper wound care is necessary to promote healing. Clean the wounds regularly and cover them with sterile bandages. Specialized footwear or inserts can also help relieve pressure on ulcers.
Surgical Interventions - Severe cases might require surgical procedures to remove infected tissues or improve blood flow to the feet. In extreme situations, amputation may be necessary to prevent the spread of infection.
Advanced Treatments - Technologies like hyperbaric oxygen therapy, laser treatments, and skin grafting have shown promise in improving healing rates.
The Importance of Early Detection Early detection and treatment can make a world of difference in managing diabetic foot complications. If you experience any unusual symptoms, consult a healthcare provider immediately. Timely action can prevent minor issues from escalating into more severe, life-threatening conditions.
Conclusion Managing diabetic foot complications requires vigilance, regular self-care, and collaboration with healthcare professionals. By adopting a proactive approach, people with diabetes can protect their feet and maintain a better quality of life. Always prioritize foot health and seek medical advice when needed.

How Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Can Accelerate Recovery from Mild Traumatic Brain Injuries
Tumblr media
Brain injuries, whether mild or severe, can result in long-lasting cognitive impairments that diminish quality of life. From memory loss to difficulties in concentration, these symptoms often persist for months or even years, making it hard for patients to resume their normal activities. One promising treatment for these chronic neurocognitive deficits is hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). At Pacific Hyperbarics, we are at the forefront of using HBOT to help patients recover from brain injuries and regain cognitive function.
What are Chronic Neurocognitive Deficits?
After a traumatic brain injury (TBI), some patients develop chronic neurocognitive deficits, which can include:
Memory problems
Trouble with attention and focus
Poor problem-solving abilities
Difficulty with multitasking
Persistent headaches
These deficits can significantly impact daily life, job performance, and relationships, leaving many patients feeling frustrated and hopeless.
Traditional Approaches vs. HBOT
Traditional treatments for chronic neurocognitive deficits often focus on symptom management through medication or cognitive rehabilitation. While these methods can be helpful, they do not address the underlying damage to brain cells caused by the injury.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), however, targets the root cause by enhancing the body’s natural healing processes. By increasing the amount of oxygen delivered to damaged brain cells, HBOT can stimulate cell repair and improve cognitive function, offering a more comprehensive solution for long-term recovery.
The Healing Mechanisms of HBOT
In a hyperbaric chamber, patients breathe pure oxygen under increased pressure, allowing more oxygen to dissolve into the blood. This oxygen-rich environment enhances:
Cellular Repair: Oxygen promotes faster repair of damaged cells and tissues, helping to regenerate brain cells.
Inflammation Reduction: Brain injuries often cause inflammation that impairs function. HBOT reduces inflammation, allowing the brain to heal more effectively.
Neurogenesis: HBOT stimulates the growth of new neurons, aiding in brain recovery and helping to improve cognitive abilities.
Research Supporting HBOT for Brain Injuries
Research into the effects of HBOT on brain injuries has shown promising results. A retrospective analysis conducted at Pacific Hyperbarics evaluated the impact of HBOT on patients with chronic neurocognitive deficits post-TBI. The findings were encouraging:
Patients experienced significant improvements in memory and attention after HBOT treatments.
Headaches, a common symptom of TBI, were reduced in frequency and intensity.
Many patients reported feeling more mentally alert and able to handle daily tasks with greater ease.
These results highlight the potential of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to provide lasting relief for patients dealing with the aftereffects of brain injuries.
The HBOT Process at Pacific Hyperbarics
Initial Assessment: Every patient undergoes a comprehensive evaluation to determine the extent of their cognitive deficits and whether HBOT is suitable.
Customized Treatment Plan: Each patient receives a tailored treatment plan designed to meet their specific needs, including the recommended number of therapy sessions.
HBOT Sessions: During each session, the patient rests comfortably in the hyperbaric chamber while breathing pure oxygen. The sessions last about 60-90 minutes, and multiple sessions are typically required for optimal results.
Ongoing Monitoring: Throughout the therapy process, our team tracks the patient’s progress and adjusts the treatment plan as needed.
Success Stories from Pacific Hyperbarics
At Pacific Hyperbarics, we have seen numerous success stories from patients who have undergone HBOT for chronic neurocognitive deficits. For instance:
David, a 42-year-old patient, suffered from memory and concentration issues after a fall that resulted in TBI. After completing his HBOT sessions, he noticed a significant improvement in his ability to focus at work and manage complex tasks.
Samantha, a young mother, experienced persistent headaches and mental fog after a car accident. HBOT helped reduce her headaches and improved her overall cognitive clarity, enabling her to return to her daily routine.
Conclusion :-
If you or a loved one is struggling with the long-term effects of a traumatic brain injury, hyperbaric oxygen therapy at Pacific Hyperbarics offers a promising solution. By promoting brain cell repair, reducing inflammation, and supporting cognitive function, HBOT can help patients overcome chronic neurocognitive deficits and return to their lives with renewed clarity and energy.
Contact Pacific Hyperbarics today to learn more about how HBOT can help you on your path to recovery.

Unraveling Truths of HBOT Treatment in Mumbai
Tumblr media
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy or HBOT Treatment in Mumbai has become extremely popular lately because of its enormous benefits including treatment of many different illnesses. But with its popularity, some myths have also spread which leads to disbelief in the treatment. In this blog, we will explain some of these myths and share true facts about HBOT.
Myth 1: HBOT Treatment is Only for Deep-Sea Divers Fact: HBOT Treatment was first created to help divers who had problems after being deep underwater. However, it’s now used to treat many other health issues because of its vast benefits. For example, HBOT can help heal wounds that don’t heal easily including diabetic wounds, treat injuries from radiation and oncology treatment, and help people who have breathed in dangerous amounts of carbon monoxide. It can also help those who want to recover post surgery, have hearing loss, are going through erectile dysfunction treatment, want to recover post workout or an athletic performance, or even just want to feel better and look brighter. The therapy works by giving your body pure oxygen in a pressurised chamber, which helps all parts of your body heal faster. While divers still use HBOT, most other people can also benefit from this therapy.
Myth 2: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is Painful Fact: Some people think that HBOT hurts, but this isn’t true at all. During HBOT, you lie or sit in a comfortable chamber and breathe pure oxygen from a mask. The air pressure inside the chamber is higher than normal, but it doesn’t cause pain. The most discomfort you might feel is a popping sensation in your ears, similar to what you experience when an airplane takes off or lands. This happens because of the change in pressure. Many people find HBOT to be a relaxing experience, and some even fall asleep during the session. iPads can be taken in for entertainment if needed. Overall, it’s a very comfortable treatment.
Tumblr media
Myth 3: HBOT Treatment is a Quick Fix for All Health Problems Fact: HBOT can be very effective for certain health problems, but it’s not an overnight magic cure. It often takes more than one session to see results, especially for long-term or serious conditions. For example, if someone has a wound that won’t heal, they might need multiple HBOT sessions before the wound gets better. Having realistic expectations and understanding that HBOT is usually part of a bigger treatment plan is important. Doctors often use it and other treatments to help patients recover better and faster.
Myth 4: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is Unsafe and Unregulated Fact: HBOT is a safe US FDA approved and well recognised and monitored treatment. It’s used in many hospitals and clinics around the world. The chambers used for HBOT are carefully designed and regularly checked to make sure they are working properly. During each session, trained medical professionals are always present to monitor the patient’s condition and ensure everything is going smoothly. Although there can be minor side effects, like discomfort in the ears, these are usually very mild and temporary. The risks of HBOT are very low, especially when compared to the benefits it can provide.
Myth 5: HBOT Treatment Has Negative Side Effects Fact: Like any medical treatment, HBOT Treatment does have some risks, but serious side effects are very rare. The most common side effect is ear discomfort, similar to what you might feel when flying in an airplane or diving underwater. This happens because of the changes in pressure inside the chamber. In general, most people tolerate HBOT very well and feel much better after their therapy sessions. It’s always important to talk to your doctor about any concerns you have to fully understand the risks and benefits of the treatment.
Tumblr media
Myth 6: Anyone Can Administer Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Fact: HBOT should only be done by trained and certified medical professionals. The therapy uses special equipment and requires careful monitoring of the patient’s condition throughout the session. If HBOT is done incorrectly, it can lead to serious problems, like oxygen toxicity, where the body gets too much oxygen. This is why it’s important to have HBOT in a medical facility where experts are in charge. It’s not something you can do at home or with untrained people. Always make sure you are getting HBOT from a reputable place with professionals who know how to do it safely.
Conclusion Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a powerful medical treatment that can help with many health issues, but there are still some myths and misunderstandings about it. By learning the true facts, patients can make better decisions about their health and take full advantage of the benefits that HBOT offers. Always consult with a doctor to see if HBOT is the right choice for your condition. At Elixir Wellness, we have experienced doctors who would help you to understand your needs and guide you to the right course of treatment including HBOT.

Control Blood Sugar: Keep your blood sugar levels in check. Follow your doctor's advice about taking medicines, eating well, and staying active to manage diabetes properly.
Take Antibiotics: If the sore gets infected, your doctor may prescribe antibiotics to fight the infection. Make sure to take them exactly as your doctor tells you.
Remove Dead Tissue: Sometimes, a healthcare professional will need to remove dead tissue from the sore to help it heal. This is called "debridement."
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: In special cases, you might need to breathe pure oxygen in a chamber to speed up healing.
Visit Your Doctor: Regularly see your doctor to check how the sore is doing. They'll ensure it's getting better and not worse.
Learn About Foot Care: Get educated on how to take care of your feet. Check them every day, wear proper shoes, and keep them clean.
Change Your Habits: If you smoke, quitting can make a big difference. Smoking harms blood flow, making it harder for the sore to heal.
Remember, early and careful treatment of Diabetes Foot Ulcers is crucial. Always follow your doctor's advice, and if you have any concerns or problems, don't wait – seek help promptly. Properly managing diabetes is key to preventing future ulcers and keeping your feet healthy.

HBOT For Healthy Being
Tumblr media
Aging is inevitable, and there hasn’t yet been made any miraculous invention that can reverse aging for good!
However, in recent instances of discovery, it has been found that HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) can boost your immune system, fight cognitive decline, rejuvenate your skin, and much beyond. In fact, HBOT anti-aging procedures and studies reveal that it does not exceed the toxicity threshold and has shown promising results in anti-aging therapies.
HBOT procedure
The doctor will thoroughly examine the patient’s physical condition before administering hyperbaric oxygen therapy to ensure the patient’s safety and avoid any potential complications.
Once our specialist determines that the patient can proceed safely, the session will proceed as follows:
The patient will be given clothing to change into.
The patient will be placed on a stretcher that will be lowered into the hyperbaric chamber.
A physician or nursing professional will fill the chamber with 100% pure oxygen and gradually increase the oxygen pressure to greater than normal. At first, the patient may experience mild ear popping or ringing. The attending physician or nurse will continuously monitor the patient and will be able to communicate with the patient via a speaker attached to the chamber at any time during the procedure.
The patient can adjust their position or posture throughout the procedure to remain comfortable and relaxed. While the procedure is being performed, they may choose to watch television or simply sleep and rest.
The therapy session will last between 60 and 90 minutes. The number of HBOT treatments required by the patient is determined by the purpose of the treatment as well as how well the patient responds to the therapy.
When the session is finished, the physician or nurse will slowly depressurize the chamber to normal atmospheric pressure before assisting the patient to exit.
How does HBOT anti-aging treatment work?
The goodness of oxygen – The use of oxygen as a systemic component in skin rejuvenation is well known.
When we at PPCC (Poona Preventive Cardiovascular Center) deliver oxygen under pressure during HBOT treatment, the supplemented oxygen levels improve blood flow, boost cell metabolism, facilitate collagen production, contribute to microscopic blood vessel growth, reduce oxidative stress, and increase skin elasticity on the surface.
Breathing oxygen inside a hyperbaric chamber is a natural procedure that has a powerful healing and regenerative effect. The increased pressure inside the hyperbaric chamber allows for greater oxygen absorption in the blood plasma.
Healing properties – HBOT works in conjunction with most skincare procedures and formulations to heal from within. Health professionals trust this natural approach to skincare because of the numerous benefits it can deliver on a holistic level.
Rejuvenating skin, increasing skin elasticity, repairing aging skin texture, reducing scar formation, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and improving skin complexion are some of the major HBOT therapy benefits. Hence, being a leading wellness center, we at PPCC have made sure to integrate this program into our treatment methods.
Boosts immune system – Oxygen boosts the immune system, activates the defense system against toxic substances, and promotes cell growth. HBOT anti-aging treatment is the most effective way to provide oxygen to the cells throughout our bodies. Increased oxygen delivery promotes cell regeneration, which reduces scarring and improves skin appearance.
Best for anti-aging and beauty strategies – Hyperbaric therapy can be utilized as part of a proactive strategy for aging gracefully. When oxygen levels in the tissues begin to fall, the body’s natural healing process slows, resulting in damaged tissues, decreased tissue function, slow wound healing, dry skin, fatigue, wrinkles, and a variety of other aging symptoms.
During HBOT sessions, the supplemented oxygen under pressure can go deep up to the cellular level to promote circulation, and stem-cell growth, reduce inflammation, and support the immune system.
Benefits of HBOT anti-aging treatment
Among various amazing benefits following are some major advantages one can derive from HBOT treatment:
Telomeres are lengthened by up to 20%.
Reduces excessive skin damage from ultraviolet radiation
Promotes collagen production and skin elasticity
Improves wound healing and scar formation
Aids in skin rejuvenation
A great assistant in photoaging skin treatment
Helps in achieving a better skin complexion
Offers protection from future ultraviolet exposure.
Celebrities are opting for HBOT therapy to maintain their youth and wellness!
The increased popularity of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) among celebrities worldwide is proof that the treatment is quite effectual and it really works. Several known personalities have reported improved skin health, enhanced energy and vitality, anti-inflammatory effects, and overall health benefits after undergoing the therapy. They agree to the fact that HBOT can act as a complementary approach to maintaining their overall health and well-being, which can pave the path to a more youthful and vibrant appearance.
Talking about Indian celebrities, Anil Kapoor was recently seen in a hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber for an extra shot of health. This garnered a lot of views and attention towards this type of therapy. A few years ago, Tiger Shroff was also seen in a similar chamber during the shooting of Baaghi in Serbia.
Not to mention, HBOT is slowly becoming a milestone as many famous personalities are considering HBOT for their rejuvenation and healing purposes. Also, it is a good alternative to surgical treatments.
Noteworthy
HBOT is not used as a miracle cure for aging or to turn back the aging clock. Remember that as of now, there is no way to reverse aging, but HBOT therapy can certainly help the body as a system to age gracefully.
What do research studies say about HBOT anti-aging treatment?
Scientists in Israel discovered that after a certain number of sessions, telomere length increased by 38%, and the number of senescent cells came down by 37%. This is equivalent to reversing the age of cells by approximately 25 years. No other medicine has ever been able to achieve such success in increasing the length of telomeres, and scientists and researchers are ecstatic about the findings.
Many other studies are still on to find out its potential to contribute towards age-reversing treatments.
HBOT anti-aging therapy under trained professionals and a safe environment
HBOT therapy at PPCC (Poona Preventive Cardiovascular Center) is a great option for those looking to slow down signs of aging and improve their overall health. It provides a safe, non-invasive approach to healing without the need for medications or surgeries. With the help of trained professionals, patients are able to experience improved health outcomes as well as increased energy and quality of life.
Whether you are looking to reduce pain from an injury or illness, feel better emotionally, or gain more mobility in your everyday life – give HBOT therapy at PPCC a try!

Improving Safety and Reducing Risk after Tragic Accidents
Tumblr media
Air travel remains one of the safest forms of transportation ever invented. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) has saved incalculable numbers of lives when used for wound healing, decompression sickness and carbon monoxide poisoning, near-drowning, burns, BLAST injury, traumatic brain injury, diabetic foot ulcers, sepsis, and amputation avoidance, arresting suicidal ideation, and healing brain wounds in deployed Navy pilots. It's superstition to believe that "deaths come in 3s." But this week's air collision over Washington DC, another in Philadelphia, coupled with a hyperbaric oxygen fire that killed a five year old boy in Troy, Michigan, are tragic examples of the risk of living while using technology to enhance our lives. Communities are in shock and mourning, as are we, seeking answers and ways to increase safety. Such accidents, while tragic, are extremely rare. However, in our grief, we must resolve to do better. And we will. Yet, we must remember there are numerous other human activities which are many times more dangerous than flying or using HBOT. Consider this chart: Cause of Death Odds of Dying Heart Disease. 1 in 6 Cancer 1 in 7 Deaths in Hospitals due to medical errors  Between 25,000 and 250,000 per year Accidental Opioid Overdose 1 in 58 Guns (all events) 1 in 89 Suicide 1 in 91 Service Member Suicides ~6,400/year, over 151,000 since 9/11 Motor Vehicle Crashes 1 in 93 Falls 1 in 98 Cataclysmic storms 1 in 20,098 Dog Attacks 1 in 53,843 Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber 1 in every 305,000 treatments accidents less than 2 per year Aircraft accidents 1 in 7.9 Million boardings According to the FAA, there is only a 0.007 percent of flights encountering a problem. For hyperbaric oxygen therapy patients, there is less than 0.0008819 percent chance of an accident. Put another way, total fatalities due to aviation accidents since 1970 is 83,772. Total deaths due to worldwide accidents in HBOT clinical chambers is 216 over 88 years, less than ten in the US. Extremely rare, in short. A related set of statistics provides further perspective. Total deaths due to medical errors according to a 2017 study is over 250,000 every year. Either number is an astonishing statistic, but people keep going into hospitals for care. Life is risky. Getting sick can be very risky. For example, in one six-year period, there were 2,211 anesthesia-related deaths in medical settings. In one recent ten year period, there were 7,049 deaths due to bicycle accidents, accounting for 2.2% of total traffic fatalities in 2021. But people accept the risk of undergoing operations and riding bikes. One thing we know for certain in both medicine and aviation is that accidents lead to extensive analysis of safety procedures, improved training, upgrades to technology, and improved safety. This close to both accidents in DC and Troy Michigan, it is premature to ascribe blame or know the causes. But with history on our side, it is safe to say that equipment failure in either case is less of a probability than pilot error or safety violations. In short, technology is less likely to be at fault than the bad luck of a human making a mistake. Neither flying nor HBOT treatments will cease, and each will be made safer as a result of improving our attention to safety for both man and machines. ****************************** The TreatNOW Mission is ending service member suicides. Along the way, we have learned that we can end suicidal ideation, help end symptoms of PTSD, get patients off most of their drugs, and heal brain wounds to end the effects of Concussion, BLAST injury, mild TBI Persistent Post Concussive Syndrome, and polytrauma from AHI and Burn Pits. No Veteran or civilian has ever been killed while undergoing HBOT treatment for TBI/PTSD. Information provided by TreatNOW.org does not constitute a medical recommendation. The Rise of Home Hyperbaric Chambers: What You Need to Know
Tumblr media
In recent years, hyperbaric oxygen therapy has emerged as a potential treatment with varied health benefits. Traditionally confined to specialized clinics, this form of therapy can now be available for home use through portable hyperbaric chambers. Whether you need one for general wellness, recovery, or a particular medical condition, this article guides you through everything you need to know about home hyperbaric chambers.
What is a Hyperbaric Chamber?
A hyperbaric chamber is an apparatus designed to provide 100% oxygen at elevated atmospheric pressure. It makes the body take in more oxygen into the bloodstream by creating an environment that has a higher pressure than normal. This increases oxygenation of the tissues, reducing inflammation and supporting cellular health in general.
Benefits of Home Hyperbaric Chambers
1. Enhanced Healing and Recovery
One of the most common uses of HBOT is to help patients recover more quickly from injuries and surgeries. Higher oxygen concentrations in the blood reduce swelling, promote tissue repair, and aid in fighting infections. Many athletes employ hyperbaric chambers to accelerate recovery from intense workouts or injuries.
2. Cognitive Function Improvement
HBOT has also been proven to improve cognitive capabilities, especially among people recovering from traumatic brain injuries (TBI) or having other neurological issues. The extra oxygen supply helps improve focus, memory, and clarity of the mind.
3. Anti-Ageing Effects
The hyperbaric chamber aids in the skin by stimulating the production of collagen and improving blood circulation. With constant sessions, one may gain energy and well-being.
4. Relief for Chronic Ailments
Patients with diseases like fibromyalgia, Lyme disease, and multiple sclerosis stated that they do experience relief symptoms with frequent visits to the home hyperbaric chamber. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can improve the quality of life and reduce inflammation.
5. Convenience and Accessibility
Schedule your therapy time at your discretion with a hyperbaric oxygen chamber at home. You wouldn't have to go to any clinic so save time by avoiding trips down the road.
Home hyperbaric chambers are available in various designs to meet the needs of different users. Here are the major types:
Soft-Shell Chambers:
Portable and lightweight.
Operate at lower pressures, typically up to 1.3 ATA (atmospheres absolute).
Best for general wellness and mild therapeutic use.
Hard-Shell Chambers:
More durable and can reach higher pressures (up to 3.0 ATA).
Ideal for people with medical conditions that require intense therapy.
Multiplex Chambers:
For use by multiple people at a time.
Larger and pricier, these are rarely used in domestic settings.
Using a Home Hyperbaric Chamber Safely
1. Seek Advice from a Healthcare Professional
Before HBOT, a doctor should be consulted to assess if it suits your particular medical needs.
2. Manufacturer Guidelines
Every chamber will have guidelines that should be strictly followed in assembling and using it. These provide the best outcomes and safety results.
3. Monitor Pressure Levels
Always use the chamber at recommended pressure levels. Over these can cause discomfort or adverse effects.
4. Avoid Flammable Materials
Since the chamber is an oxygen-rich environment, avoid bringing flammable items, such as oils or sprays, inside.
5. Gradual Decompression
When ending a session, decompress gradually to avoid ear discomfort or barotrauma.
Factors to Consider When Buying a Home Hyperbaric Chamber
1. Purpose and Needs
Determine if you require a chamber for general wellness, specific medical conditions, or athletic recovery. This will determine the type and features you should focus on.
2. Budget
Home hyperbaric chambers range from $5,000 to over $20,000. Consider your budget while factoring in long-term benefits and potential savings from reduced clinic visits.
3. Size and Portability
Soft-shell chambers are easier to store and move, while hard-shell chambers are more robust but require dedicated space.
4. Pressure Capability
Higher pressure chambers provide more intensive therapy but may not be necessary for general wellness.
5. Warranty and Support
Look for chambers with a reliable warranty and accessible customer support. This ensures peace of mind and assistance in case of issues.
Potential Risks and Precautions
While home hyperbaric chambers are generally safe, there are some potential risks:
Oxygen Toxicity:
Long-term exposure to high oxygen levels leads to toxicity. It is essential to follow the specified length of time required for each session.
Barotrauma:
Sudden changes in pressure can lead to earaches or sinus pain. Slow compression and decompression avert this.
Fire Hazard
High concentrations of oxygen are extremely flammable. Safety measures always prevail.
Contraindications
Take an HBOT session only if recommended by a physician. Those with a history of untreated pneumothorax or severe claustrophobia should not take the session.
Future of Home Hyperbaric Therapy
With the advancement of technology, home hyperbaric chambers are becoming more affordable and easier to use. Innovations like automated controls, compact designs, and enhanced safety features are making HBOT accessible to a wider audience. Ongoing research also continues to unveil new therapeutic applications that further solidify its role in modern wellness and healthcare.
