Hey sorry I don't know why I'm telling you but just wanted to share, sorry if it's too long

I started working as an intern in this tech company and I'm kinda the only woman in the rnd department. Two weeks passed and it was pretty good but today they sent me and another intern who is a male to the department where they fix broken cards and stuff. The men in there immediately started talking to the intern and asking him to come check out their work cause it would be a great opportunity for him. They showed him the machines and i just tagged along, both me and the guy tried to tell them that i am too an engineering intern but they just ignored. I tried to tell him that i was interested and had similar classes but he didn't even listened or looked at me. I felt kinda weird cause i never really experienced something like this just wanted to share cause I don't know what i was supposed to do.

Sorry you experienced that. That's some old school sexism for sure, and you're bound to run into it some more as you enter the work force. Fortunately, a lot of these old school guys are headed out (which doesn't mean misogyny in the work force is defeated...but you know...we take our wins where we can).

My advice to you: report it. Report it to your direct manager and/or HR. I'm not saying it's a magical fix all in all work places, but if you do nothing, nothing can be done about it. At the very least, it will probably motivate someone to speak to him, like "hey man, you can't obviously treat our female interns differently, and we don't want to hear about this again." Convos like that might make someone salty, but also not want to push their luck a second time. Or not, but again you can only guarantee nothing will happen only if you do nothing.

In the moment, your milage may very, but trying to just point blank in a friendly and professional way ask him to clarify why he won't show you something can really put the pressure on them to admit out loud their sexist beliefs, which they know they shouldn't do. Things like "Did you not hear my question? Are you ignoring me on purpose?" or "I just explained I'm an intern as well, is there a reason you won't demonstrate this to me as well?" or even "I feel like you're treating me differently than him, I hope it's not because I'm a woman" and just leave the unspoken part hang awkwardly in the air for him to puzzle out.

As always, this is easier to imagine and write about than to do in the moment. Don't beat yourself up if someone catches you off guard by being an asshole. Know that YOUR job as intern is to get experience and education, and you do not have to suffer fools that get in your way. If you need to get engineering knowledge out of this guy, be an annoying fly in his ear. Buzz buzz, I'm here for 8 more weeks and if you don't show me how to calibrate this thingy-ma-bob today, I'll just be knocking on your door tomorrow, buzz buzz. Who cares if he walks away thinking women are annoying or whatever, it's your future and you can't change his mind.

PSA: Etiquette and NSFW

This is a post about general interactions in DM's and followers. Common sense is just to be polite, but your milage may vary about what you consider ok and what is not. This leads me back to your page. I will scroll down it, and if I like what I see, then I will follow back. And now we are mutuals. This may result in a varying amount of likes/reblogs from me. I don't tend to schedule or stagger, so you may get a lot if I deep dive your page. If this is a problem, just let me know. My page tends to be kinda random, but it is LGBTQ+ friendly and open to generally everyone. I tend to only go out of my way to block and report bots. I identify any page that follows me, but has no posts, likes, or reblogs as a bot, so if you are new, please post something so that I know that you are a person.

Since I am open to most people, this includes NSFW pages as well, but I might interact a bit differently. You get the same general vetting, but I am likely not going to reblog.... at least on this page. I have a sideblog devoted to NSFW. If you know, you know. Even then, since I don't want it getting nuked, the content I reblog will be rather tame, even though I may "like" quite a bit of the spicier content. Hey, had to tell a friend this recently, but I don't think people realize a lot of what your local rape crisis center can potentially offer you, and as someone who spent over two years working for one, let me tell you. Obviously your milage may vary by location and center, and obligatory 'nonprofits arent perfect' disclaimer but some things you might be able to get if your life has been impacted in any way by sexual violence include:

Free money and stuff - our case managers had piles of gifts cards for food, clothes, gas, etc. that they straight up gave out to people who's financial situation was impacted by an abusive relationship or assault. They also has insider info on housing funds and other benefits you could potentially access. They would also help you apply up housing and for people who were being stalked we even would get them a new phone and help them change their number.

Free (short term) counseling - our counseling was free ninety nine and ran up to 12-16 sessions which is 4-5 months of a session per week. We had free groups that had no limitations for how many times you could sign up and were moderated by a therapist.

Free legal help - we had a legal team that would help with all legal concerns, from obtaining restraining orders to full on prosecuting perpetrators. They would even help with immigration concerns.

Free medical advocacy - need someone there to advocate for you at the hospital, or just hold your hand? Your local RCC may offer 24/7 medical advocacy services, call their hotline and find out!!

It kills me that so many folks are unaware that these resources exist until it's too late for them to use them, so I had to give a soapbox speech.

Also, and this is super important - going to an RCC does NOT mean disclosing anything to the cops, unless you choose to move forward with making a report. The vast majority of our clients never went to the cops at all. Even if they got a rape kit done. Yes, you can have a rape kit done without filing a report.

Ok so if you want to get laid and you fuck men I would go with Grindr if you want dates I would look elsewhere.

Secondly. I may be benefiting from a certain level of pretty privilege when I say this but I've been open with my body count on here. Idk what it is but I stopped counting at 40 and that was over a year ago. If I can do that I'm certain you can bag at least one guy.

So a lot of my advice is gonna be for trans guys who are hot because that is my experience so what works for me might not work for you but honestly I would use trial and error to figure out your method. Also all of this advice is Grindr specific because I like to talk to guys before I decide so the matching apps never really worked for me.

So my methods is I have a face pic and I have a very slutty bio and I just wait for people to message me. Occasionally if I really think a guys hot I tap him and if I really think a guys hot and he has trans friendly in his bio I message him. Grindr doesn't make you swipe through anyone can message anyone. This has benefits and drawbacks. I've gotten a few rather mean transphobic messages and I just block the guy and move on it's not really that big of a deal to me.

Anyway one thing I would recommend is using tags and tribes. I'm not crazy about that terminology of "tribes" but I'll show you what I mean

Tags have a million options, tribes only have a few are your options. People filter for them. I would really recommend clicking the trans one and putting the FTM tag in your tags because it'll make it easier for people looking for trans partners to find you.

Honestly people filter for all the information so I would fill it out. depending on what they're looking for but the trans tribe is the one that is trans specific

Now my next piece of advice: get used to unsolicited dick pics. People open with cock pics all the time that's just how it is on there. If you're not into it it's better just to go to another app.

There's a lot of blank profiles on there. Unlike on here those guys are not spam they're DL. Your milage might vary on them because there's a million reasons a guy might be DL. He could be a cheater but equally he could be a professor at the local college who doesn't want his students to find him. I know a drag queen who has a blank profile because she preforms at one of the biggest clubs in the city and if she has a face pic up people ask her if she's that little Latin boy who does JLO and are weird to about it. So not having a PFP doesn't say much about someone. I demand a face pic but I don't block for being blank

Finally don't take any shit from people. There's always another guy. People on there will do anything to get you to fuck them. They feel very entitled to hole you need to be entitled back. They'll ask you for unreciprocated head, they'll try to get you to host even when you say you can't, theyll text you come over when you are fully 100 miles away. You're gonna have to tell a lot of people no repeatedly.

Oh and one last thing: for some reason putting no cops no military in your profile gets you falsely reported. No Republicans appears not to have the same effect and a lot of guys will use the military tag so if you're not down with them just block they're open about it

Preparing myself to pay more to repair the current car than like every other car we owned this century, or at least since the other mini van, have been worth and I'm okay with it. I knew going in this car was fancy.

Makes me want to tell the e-beggars in my in box, each and every one gets reported for spam and blocked, that if they can do the work to the dealer's specifications they can have the money. Let's see how many of them get back to me.

But basically the inside of our cat convertor is fucked. And the car's age and milage is about right for the things it will need to have redone so there's no prombles. We can also walk to a grocery and our drug store so we're blessed.

Before we knew just how much work the car is going to need, some of it is preventative but we're getting it out of the way, we were looking at having the credit card paid off by the end of the year.

Don't know what a lot of people are doing if they're in debt, I don't count things like student loans, car repairs, serious medical bills, I've never even thought of living that way.

On the creative side of things I organized my rag doll patterns, I have a batch of plastic envelopes that snap closed which are great for loose paper pieces, and many of them still need to be cut out which is a fun stim but I haven't decided when or if I'll actually cut any out yet.

It did get me up and down and bending and reaching kind of early in my day tho so I couldn't get ot using my back in other ways I wanted to.

Our store bought bread was turning green so I had to make home made. I used the tiny loaf pans which are like saltine sized, and part of one still didn't get eaten, because the bigger size dries out before we can eat it all.

Basic bread-

2 cups white flour

2 tablespoons sugar

dash of salt

1 packet/serving of yeast

Only add as much water as needed to make it dough, let rise, knead, let rise again then bake at 350 for however long your loaf pan needs. For just tossing the whole thing as a roundish lump on a cookie sheet about 25 should work. The hardest part is waiting for it to cool before you eat it.

“No, I’m good,” Kensi said distractedly as she filled out a milage report. “Thanks.”

Nell hesitated for a moment and then pulled a chair up, leaning forward.

“Are you ok?”

“Yeah, of course. Why wouldn’t I be?”

“I don’t know. You just seem a little down recently,” she said with a shrug.

“Ok, that right there is the definition of not fine. C’mon spill.” To prove that she was serious, she grabbed the papers from Kensi’s hand. “You know I won’t go away until you do.”

Sighing Kensi pushed back from her desk, her shoulders hunching. She’d been trying so hard to appear normal, but apparently she hadn’t been too convincing.

“I’m worried about Deeks,” she finally told Nell, regretting saying it almost immediately. Especially when Nell’s face fell in obvious concern.

“Is he ok?” she asked.

“Yes. I mean, maybe. Physically he’s fine, but, um...” Kensi trailed off, shifting uncomfortably. “He’s been a little distant recently.”

“What do you mean by “distant”?” Nell asked, including finger quotes. “Like he dozes off during Top Model distant. Or he’s never home distant?”

“That still doesn’t explain why he’s been acting this way. It’s not normal for us and I don’t know what to do.” She let out a shuddery sigh.

“Have you tried asking him?” Nell suggested. “Maybe it’s something he’s worried about with work.”

“I was too afraid,” Kensi said. She sniffed hard, swiping at her eyes. “God, I’m such a idiot.

“No you’re not,” Nell said kindly. “But you should talk to Deeks.” Kensi nodded.

“I will.”

“Good. And remember that he loves you and he always will.” She leaned over the desk to give Kensi a hug.

“Thanks, Nell.” Kensi wrapped her arms around Nell’s smaller frame, feeling better just for having talked about her fears.

I have a lot of thoughts on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which I will be posting once the show is complete, but there is something from the latest episode I need to point out before I forget.

So, in the latest episode we all cheered when the Dora Milage handed John Walker his ass. Ngl I loved it! John Walker deserved it. 

However, we see Sam, and then Bucky with Sam’s persuasion, intervening to stop the Dora Milage from actually hurting John Walker (and Lemar, I guess). Most of the people, including me, thought that it’s great that Sam looks out for not only his friends, but also for people he doesn’t really like.

However, on second thought I think Sam intervened more for Dora Milage’s, and by extension, Wakanda’s benefit, than Walker’s. Think about it. Wakanda just opened up to the world, and then blip happened, but technically it’s still a newly opened up country whose international relations are still a little shaky. The attack by Dora Milage, Wakanda’s elite military force, on John Walker, the USA’s new Captain America, the symbol of American power, will not be taken lightly by the American government. At best, it would be seen as an insult, and at worse, an act of aggression. Either scenario, it won’t bode well for American-Wakandan relations. 

Sam intervening to end the fight, is to prevent any fallout or hostility that could lead to souring of relations between the nations. Of course, later in the episode Walker doesn’t blab to anyone about being defeated by the Dora Milage (why would he? his ego would be bruised further), but the Dora Milage’s asswhooping had a direct connection to Walker taking the serum because he felt that what he lacks is physical strength. But there was always the possibility that Walker could’ve gone to the authorities he reports to, about Dora Milage trying to exceed their jurisdiction. 

Sam and Bucky trying to calm down the Dora Milage prevented something permanently damaging from occurring. At least, that’s how I am reading the scene.

Hi Gallus! So you mentioned in the tags that you have a good method for multiple choice tests. Can you expand on that?

CAVEAT: I am not a professional educator, tutor or teacher.  This is just what worked for me when I was in public school and maybe you’ll be able to get some milage out of them too.

So let’s imagine you’re me, Plopping down to take the ACT with a 103 degree fever and exactly Zero Studying, because your principle is a jackass that won’t let you rescedule.  You’ll get him back later by delibarately sneezing all over his desk to give him whatever Public Ed Death Fever you have, but right now you have a test to take.  So here’s some strategies:

First of all, This Test Doesn’t Matter.  Actually, no fucking tests Matter.  Even when you get to college, only a handful of tests will matter and as long as you’ve gone to office hours and attended class, even if you bomb them your prof probably won’t let you fail.  The SAT and ACT will both let you re-take them. If you’ve made effort in class and can demonstrate some kind of understanding of the subject, you can probably negotiate with your teacher if you have testing issues.

No really if you’re bad at tests ask your teacher if you can do a research report/verbal presentation/some other complex project instead.  That’s called taking intiative and engaging with the subject matter and it’s deffo worth a shot.  

The skill that ACTUALLY matters in high school/college/the workforce is SHOWING THE FUCK UP TO CLASSES/OFFICE HOURS/EVENTS and learning how to absorb and regurgitate vast quantities of text.  If you have difficultly with time management, being polite to people you don’t actually care about or reading, it’s 110% worth the cost/effort of seeing a specialist about those skills.  

OK NOW THAT WE’VE ESTABLISHED THAT THIS TEST IS PURELY A PREFUNCTORY BIT OF SOCIAL THEATER, WE CAN GET TO THE ACTUAL ADVICE UNDER THE CUT:

MULTIPLE CHOICE SECTION TIPS:

Step the first: Hydrate.  hydration is key.

Step 2: READ ALL THE QUESTIONS FIRSTthis hella important1. Lets you get an idea of the task ahead, and you’ll have a better idea of how to budget your time.2. reading the questions will help your groggy, fevered brain remember what you learned in class.3. Sometimes, answers to early questions are in later questions.  For Example: if #3 asks you to match a vocab term to a phenomenon, and #17 uses one of the possible answers in the question, it’s probably that term.

Go through and answer the questions that you’re sure of right away, regardless of order.  Besure not to dick up your scantron sheet in the process.

Next look at the questions that look familar but you might have to think about a bit-Read the question ALL THE WAY THROUGH because they like to but tricky bits at the end.-If it’s math, present the answer in the format requested by the question, no matter how stupid that format is.-If two answers are more alike than the others, the correct answer is PROBABLY one of those. Take a guess and move on.

Before the test, clarify with the teacher/proctor if it’s better to guess on a question you don’t know the answer to leave it blank, because different tests score differently. Many tests, you get partial credit for answering, or at least not docked for guessing wrong. If this is the (very likely) case, and you’re running out of time (less than 2 minutes) go through and mark the remaning questions “B”.

ESSAY AND SHORT ANSWER TIPS

Whoever is grading your test is probably grading hundreds, if not thousands of these.  They will be tired.  They might also be drinking. Explain yourself with clear, simple sentences like you are explaining this concept to a Kindergartener, because that’s probably where they are, emotionally.

Brevity is key on the short answer section, in terms of both clarity and time managment. Write answers like you’re defining the concept on twitter- in both terms of character length and audience familarity with the subject.

On long essays, Confidence is Key.Which is to say, if you’re not 100% confident about the subject but you’re much more confident on a relevent adjacent topic, write about that second topic.  This confidence will make the words happen better and get you a better grade.Examples: For AP Statistics, I had to write essays explaining the complex statistical process of uh. determining how liekly moose were going to occur in an area.We did not go over this chapter in class. or in the out of class work.So I didn’t know dick about the mathemetical process.BUTI’m a bio nerd and know about moose.So Instead I did what math I could and talked about Moose Behavior Using Complex Science Terms and managed to walk away from that Exam with a 5/5 somehow.

Also, regarding the 5-Paragraph essay Structure:In education, there’s a 3-step process-Announce what you’re going to be learning about today (Introductory paragraph, 3 supporting topis)-Teach them the thing (elaborate on your three supporting topics)-Repeat in brief what you just said because everyone was probably on thier phones, spiritually, if not literally (Concluding Paragraph.

This three step structure works for presentations, PSAs, opinion pieces and explaining how to operate the washing machine to your college roommate.  its a good life skill to practice.

Since you’re probably going into this test better prepared than I was:

STUDY.

If possible, take what opportunities you can to familiarize yourself with the subject matter in whatever way helps you best.  For me, it was physically writing down notes, with a pen and paper, from my textbooks and explaining the concepts to my parents and peers.  the former helped with my recall and the latter really made sure I thoroughly understood the cencept.  Your learning method might be different- some other methods to try might include:

Re-Reading the text while chewing strongly-flavored gum, then having the same gum at the test. Scents and flavors have a strong impact on our memories.

They physical act of making flash cards is a good way to link topis for some people

illustrating the subject matter

having a friend pop quiz you. esp while working out, if you’re a more kinesthetic person.

listening to Ted Talks on the subject

Tutoring

going and talking to your teacher about the parts you don’t understand- this is good both to help you learn and to make a connection with your teacher.  they’ll grade you more lieniently if you make an effort.

For Most People, getting a good rest the night before the test does more good than last-minute cramming.  If you can’t sleep (I never could) even just lying in the dark with your eyes closed will help you charge better than dicking around online or reading will. There was a whole mythbusters episode on this.

Sleep is better for you than good grades anyway.

Topic: do we need a climate label?

I.               Introduction

The label is an important part of food products, which producers use to communicate their product’ characteristics to persuade consumers at a trading activity. The information on the product label often reflects and responds to the customers’ demands at a time. With the uprising consumers' concern about the environmental aspect of food products and production in recent years, the question of the need for a climate label is unavoidable. In this essay, reports and literature will be reviewed to answer and discuss the raising question.

II.             Literature review

In the modern world, consumers are provided with a fruitful amount of food choices due to technological advancements and the free market. Their consumption behavior is no longer determined solely by the availability of food to serve basic nutritional needs1. A wide range of foodstuff options allows the customer to make purchasing decisions not only to satisfy fundamental demands but also to reflect their lifestyle and beliefs2. Consequently, policymakers and food producers need to understand population demands towards foodstuffs to perform corresponding strategic approaches at their challenging positions. Concurrently, policymakers need to keep benefiting their citizens, and producers to stay relevant in their business as society progresses.

Under the customer-centered market, food producers utilize product labels as a response to consumers' demands in trading activities without their preliminary consumptions3. Thereupon, packaging has dual functions of protecting the food inside as well as conveying information from producers to consumers. The information existed in the product label can be mandatory, as an obligation to the officials' regulations, or non-mandatory as a producers' endeavor to persuade consumers to buy a product. Consequently, despite differences in legal status, this information functions as a cue to help customers making purchasing decisions depending on their preferences with certainty and willingness. For example, from 2014, European food producers are obliged to list potential allergens that existed in their product in the product label4. This implementation indirectly clarifies consumers' questions about how their health preferences would react to food products without actually trying. In a different circumstance, the voluntary addition of an organic production label assures consumers the product is associated with organic production. As such, consumers could consume according to their opposition towards GMOs, or preference toward nature with certainty.

In the modernity theory frameworks of consumption and production, the modification and implementation of product labels mentioned above is a part of the producer's business restructure in correspondence to customers' demands. Therefore, new customers' demands - which are formed by new societal ideology at the time - indirectly require new product labels, either mandatory or voluntary. For example, genetically modified food was introduced to the European market as early as 1996. However, only until consumers' confidence in science and technology started to impose an uprising contradiction GMO, European Commission released their official regulation toward food producers on the issue in 20035. From then, European producers need to put GMO are required to put GMO labels onto their products if it is associated with genetic engineering technology to any extent.

Meanwhile, the environmental aspect in food and food production is gaining more recognition from the European public in the last decades. Consequently, this aspect would potentially become the determining factor of the customer in their consuming activities in the future6. Therefore it is inevitable to suggest the addition of climate labels to food products, based on a certified and quantitative system, in response to the uprising customers' demands from this time on. In fact, as of now, several food companies have already implemented different versions of climate labels to their products such as Oatly, Estrella, Quorn7. Together with marketing strategies, their business gained exponential growth in the last few years. This observation alone not only suggest the producers' need to adopt climate label for future business but also signify the needs of a mandatory one from policymakers to help their people avoid confusion while making a purchasing decision.

III.           Discussions

The above reasoning suggests that the implementation of the mandatory climate label in the food industry is certain to happen. Two fundamental characteristics of this label can be predicted based on both current mandatory labels and voluntary climate labels. Firstly, it would be a quantification label like a nutrition label instead of an identification label like a GMO one. In reality, any production activity has its environmental impact, and more often, it is the most effective technology available for producers. Besides, laws and regulations are not higher and are conditioned by the development of technology as society progresses. Therefore, considering foodstuffs is environmentally good or bad may do more harm to the society than benefit them, which the purpose of the implementation. Secondly, it would cover the environmental impacts of a product in more than one aspect (figure 1). As such, different product from different production technologies which require different resources can be evaluated indifferently by the regulations.

For customers, the implementation of such a climate label implies few foreseeable benefits. Firstly, it satisfies customers' demands for a more environmentally friendly way of food consumption by giving them a tool to compare between products. Concerns about how their consumption behavior would impact the environment are resolved, paving way for more certain and enjoyable trading activities. Though this resolution is not the ultimate one because any production activity has its environmental impact, it would be the most effective tactic available. Secondly, the implementation helps customers consume at ease by guiding them through a matrix of voluntary climate labels in the market in the present. More often, these voluntary climate labels consider environmental aspects from different perspectives - namely carbon dioxide emission versus food milage. They are incomparable to each other. Consequently, consumers have been left with confusion while shopping, though their needs are responded to by food producers. In contrast, the implementation also suggests an obvious drawback for consumers.

For producers, the implementation is both the opportunity and the challenge for their businesses. A study conducted for the Swedish market suggests that consumers would pay more for food products with less GHG emitting8. Concurrently, Oatly, who has gained exponential growth in the last few years, famously adopts carbon dioxide emission number per product on their units and publicly promotes every producer to follow their paths. Though these case studies do not represent the whole European market, it suggests that climate labels can be used as a critical selling point for consumers in the future. On the other hand, the implementation forces them into a new technology race towards the most environmentally friendly production technique - which might remove small-cap companies. Moreover, it would also impose a challenge to businesses whose exporting foodstuffs as explained in the above paragraph.

IV.          Conclusions

To conclude, the need for a climate label in food products is inevitable and certain to happen in the future. It is because of the uprising importance of environmental aspects in consumers’ quality evaluation and the function of the product label is the producers’ responses to consumers’ needs. The future climate label would assemble fundamental characteristics of current mandatory product labels as well as voluntary climate labels circulating in the market. Furthermore, the implementation imposes more benefits than drawbacks to customers who consider the environmental aspect as the most determining factor in purchasing activities. Concurrently, producers would consider the implementation is both a challenge to their business structure and an opportunity to grow by new market demands.

The Heat of Trinidad (1)

 A/N: IT’S M’BAKU SATURDAY!!!!!! This is the official first chapter of my very first M’Baku series. In this chapter, the leaders of Wakanda are sent to various locations to help make the world a better place. M’Baku is sent to a place way different from home but sees a vision for sore eyes. I hope y’all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

  It was a breezy, sunny day in Wakanda and in the Royal Palace, all the council members were in attendance. The Dora Milage stood in a neat, precise along with the Jabari Tribe. King T’Challa was on his throne with his ambassador and Prince of Wakanda, N’Jadaka, to his left and the Great Lord himself, M’Baku, to his right. M’Baku had no choice but to wear clothing supplied to him by the Wakandian seamstresses, to respect the elders. He sat there in a chocolate tone sweater, matching slacks and shoes made by Shuri herself. “Now, as I have said before, we need to help supply our brothers and sisters all over the world which is why the WPS will assign an agent into each and every part of major police departments to teach those dumb idiots how to actually protect and serve...for everyone”, N’Jadaka said as he stood with a hologram in front of him as he wore an all-black attire like M’Baku but his sleeves were rolled up and accents of gold throughout the shirt and loafers.

 T’Challa nodded, still seated and said “thank you, Prince N’Jadaka. Very good work.” N’Jadaka nodded and sat as T’Challa stood. “Council, as the King of our country, I will be assigning each official here to each part of the world to talk to each president, royal figure or whoever is in charge. Then in a few months, I will be going to the UN to finalize everything.” T’Challa looked around before looking at M’Baku who seemed bored out his mind. His heavy legs swung back and forth, wide apart and his arms rested on each armrest of his wooden chair. T’Challa stood with his hands behind his back and said “Lord M’Baku, would you like to proceed with plans?” When T’Challa sat, M’Baku watched him. He took a deep breath and sat up slightly, hands folded before standing.

  “Alright then, while we are gone the Queen Mother will be in charge until T’Challa is back. My tribe will stay behind to protect while the Dora Milage except for Oya will be with each one of us. Of course, the warriors will be back after flying us out. We have been randomly assigned to a different party in the world. According to Brother T’Challa, we will be there for a few months as we watch our assigned areas. He thinks it will be better if we get to know them as much as we can and report back to him the process of our agent’s work; before and after.” He slouched back into his seat and tilted his head towards the king. “Ah, well then. Princess Shuri has randomly selected through her database of each area and paired with each of us. She had no say so. Is this correct”, T’Challa said and Shuri nodded as she stood.

 “Each of our results will be transmitted from my lab to our beads telling us where we are headed off to tomorrow afternoon. Each one of our ships will be disguised as aircraft from each place so we won’t cause any unwanted attention. No need pack because since we have all your measurements, you will have supplied you all with everything you need. We won’t know where we will be until we are on our flights”, she said before sitting. T’Challa’s arms lied beside him when he asked “any questions”. He didn’t even get to finish because M’Baku interrupted. “With all due respect, why on Earth do we all need to go?” T’Challa looked at N’Jadaka and the prince explained “if T’Challa, Shuri and I all went alone it would take almost eight months to go to every part of the world. We need to help our fellow brothas and sistas fast before we become extinct.”

 M’Baku said “alright but why can’t we know where we are going now and why do we have to wait until we are onboard to know where we are going? I thought your ‘technology’ is ‘perfect’ and ‘efficient.” Shuri said “well since there is so many of us, the system might take a little longer. But no worries, the system also has matched each of us where it thinks we will fit best.” The meeting went on until M’Baku stood in front of the window; T’Calla and Erik walked to his opposite sides. “Looks like you not up for helping us out, brotha”, N’Jadaka noticed. M’Baku folded his arms and said “the last time we tried to help the world, half of the world was almost dusted. We should have stayed to ourselves.” T’Challa placed a hand on his friend’s shoulder and said “well, you did help in the battle, brother. You provided Queen Mother a helping hand and did what you could.”

  M’Baku still stood there in thoughts as his brothers continued to talk. M’Baku hated change, he wasn’t sure why. He just did. That very night, he sat in his dining area alone eating dinner, all alone as usual. Being so, he was comfortable doing so. Once he was done with dinner, he showered and lied in bed in the nude as the cool mountain air kissed his skin, causing him to sleep. The next morning, a knock on his door woke him up. He stood from his bed and wrapped a towel around his waist before making his way. The knocking stopped once he opened the door to see one of the Dora Milaje and a member of the WPS, N’Jabu. N’Jabu was about twenty-four years of age, 6′1 and around 230 lbs. “Morning, Lord M’Baku. The Royal Family has given us your clothing for departure” the young man said handing him a wooden box. “We leave in an hour. We will be on the aircraft waiting.”

 With that, they left M’Baku to get dressed. Once he was back by his bed, he opened the box; it made him raise his brow, unamused. Meanwhile, T’Challa was in an all-black suit with a grey tie and black dress shoes outside the rides. Shuri was in orange camouflage pants with a black tank, jean jacket and skater shoes on his left. N’Jadaka wore a navy blue hoodie, jeans and Adidas Superstars with his dreads braided and grill in. M’Baku walked out and Shuri turned to greet him. “Good morning, Great Gorilla Brother.” T’Challa turned along with N’Jadaka who put his shades on. “Goddamn, that shirt is bright as hell, bruh.” Shuri laughed as she raised her beads up recording everything. “Peter and MJ have to see this.” M’Baku was in a bright red wife-beater with a pair of black swim trunks on and sandals.; his face serious and aggravated.

  “I do not find this funny. Not. At. All”, he walked towards them and looked down at Shuri, who still recorded. “Where in colonizer hell are we all going? I need to know why I am dressed like this.” N’Jadaka said “well, my results came in last night. I’m going to LA, again” with his hands in pockets. “Yeah, mine came in too. I will be in New York City with Nyla. She’s already there so yeah. And I might even get to hang with Peter and the crew as well”, Shuri said. “And, I and Okoye will be in Washington”, said T’Challa as Okoye stood behind in an all-black suit like the Secret Service. “Well, mine has not come in at all and I am highly disturbed.” Shuri rolled her eyes before signaling before going to her flight. M’Baku looked around at all the officials who bored and saw all the ridiculous clothing. 

Soon everyone boarded and buckled in. N’Jabu wore something similar to him and Laya wore a pilot uniform. M’Baku rubbed his temples as he sat still waiting for his results. “Lord M’Baku. Please prepare for take-off”, Laya said over the intercom and they were off. M’Baku sat back in his seat trying to look over at the window but found it difficult since he sat in the middle of the ship. N’Jabu sat in the corner reading in M’Baku’s eyes sight on the right. “What are you reading over there, young man”, he asked and his agent looked up. “Our manual for assisting the officiants, Lord M’Baku. Agent Nyla Miller wants to make sure we do our job correctly, sir.” M’Baku nodded and said “carry on” before he leaned on his right hand.

  Once he started to fall in a deep slumber, he heard his beads beep a few times. The lights flashed and generated as the ship changed to a plane aircraft and M’baku stood up, still watching and moving to the window seat available. Finally, the words were readable and his eyes squinted until he looked outside.”Trinidad and Tobago”, he said to himself. He looked to the view below and saw how clear it looked. The water was an ombre of teal, blue and aqua. The trees stood tall and so green he couldn't believe it. The plane landed on a private landing strip of the Piarco International Airport. Once they were safely down, the pilot announced “we have landed in bright and sunny Trinidad and Tobago. Good luck on your months here, Lord M’Baku and N’Jabu”; M’Baku did not want to leave that plane. 

  When N’Jabu and M’Baku left the plane, a short, older woman with a light complexion stood with a group of men, both secret service and to help with luggage. She wore a navy print skirt suit and her braids up and away from her face. “Hello, gentleman. I am Paula-Mae Weekes, the president of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Welcome to our country, Lord M’Baku, and Agent N’Jabu.” She held out her hand to be shaken and they took it. “Lord M’ Baku, you and the Agent you have brought will be staying at one of the best-gated communities you have to offer. You both will have separate housing to yourselves for your stay.”

“Thank you, President Weekes. It is a pleasure to be sent here instead of the US and having to meet their ‘president’.” She softly smiled and said “yes. I bet it is. Now, let us drop you off so you can get used to the country and all we have to offer.” The men began to pack their things in the car and as the President gave them a tour, M’Baku all the murals around town. “I see you like art. Every mural is done by one of this country’s best artists, Rae, and the youth’s art group. You may see them around from time to time.”

“Rae, I like that. Strong name. Very good. Very good.”

  They soon arrived to see a one-story yellow home with white roofing a nice cut green grass. There were shrubs around with a garden of yellow dandelions next to the entrance. M’Baku looked around to see everything so bright and lively; he saw the change and despised it but kept a poker face. “Okay, the front home will be for the Lord and the back home is all yours, N’Jabu.” N’Jabu bowed his head to the president and they thanked her before she left. M’Baku walked into his new for the next few months and saw the dark-toned kitchen that was completely different from the outside. The tile was an onyx marble against the oak hardwood island and countertop.  He checked the cupboards to see red and white dishes already washed and stacked.

  The drawers below had plenty of silverware for a family of five and tools for baking and cooking all alike. He walked around to find the study, very calming and nature-filled with ferns in every corner of the room. The bathroom had an earthy tone as well with wasabi shade on the walls and accents of brown and gold essentials around. When he went into the bathroom where all his luggage was, he walked into see a cream wall color surrounding him but what caught his eyes was the bed. It was a tall canopy with sheer, cream drapes around it. The bed itself looked like it can hold three of him and he gave a side smirk. 

   His kimono beads lit golden shade which indicated that N’Jadaka was calling. “Hello, brother N’Jadaka. How is Los Angeles so far”, he asked settling in the plush sheets. “Ah, man. Just like what I remember. So, I see ya made it. Where did they send you?”

“Trinidad and Tobago.”

“Ah, man. That’s way different than the mountains, big man. Ya think you can handle it?” M’Baku stood at the back window looking out to see the big tall trees and a pool in the pavement. “I can manage”, he responded with a smirk. He decided to sleep the entire day and get to know Trinidad better the next. He showered after his call with the Prince and lied in the nude, falling asleep like he usually did.

  The next morning, his eyes open to the curtains blowing inwards. The air was humid yet relaxed him. He slowly stood, every muscle at attention and stretched his limbs. Making his way to the bathroom, the Lord looked into his closet to see a buttondown shirt with various colors and beige shorts. He rolled his eyes but decided to just get it over with. After his morning routine, he dressed up and realized that the shirt looked like too much; he unbuttoned it to show off his body. He looked into the mirror to see the outfit and was impressed, didn’t look too bad but who was he kidding. He is M’Baku, he makes everything look good. 

   He slipped on the shoes Shuri gifted him to match any outfit by simply scanning the garment and matching it; the pair changed to a red tone. He looked over to the vanity and saw a wooden box. The note was in Xhosa but he read it in English. “Can’t have you lookin’ like anyone else. Thank me later. -The Prince of all Princes.” He rolled his eyes as he opened the box and saw a gold, thin chain with an ankh dangling from it. His eyebrow rose and he held it in his hand. He placed the jewelry on saw that it actually made his copper skin shimmer and pop.

   He decided to walk into town where President Weekes gave them a tour. He walked amongst the many of people. Whether they were short or tall, plump or skinny, light or dark, the all looked they belonged on the island. He walked over to a mural of Mother Nature with an afro and tending to animals. He had to admit it was an impressive piece of art. Once he looked around the corner, he saw a group of children in baggy clothing, covered in paint walking somewhere. He went back to looking at Mother Nature when he heard the most beautiful voice ever. Her voice was so soft and her accent was so soothing. “Okay, children. I loved all the colors each one of ye has chosen’. What do ya tink we should call it, eh?” All the little hands went up and she looked to see who to chose. She saw a lighter complexion child and chose her. “I tink we should call it, um, ‘Aura’.” The older 5′10 woman looked to the painting and said “Aura? Mandy, that is beautiful.”

“Mine was better, Miss Rae”, a little boy spoke up and she placed her hand on her wide hips. “Is dat right? And what was the name you came up with, hm, Randal?” The liitle boy shrugged and said “colors”; the group laughed and Miss Rae shook her head, smiling. “Silly boy. Maybe next time. I guess that will do for today, everyone. Go ahead to the bus and they will take ye back to the center while I clean up. See ye all tomorrow.” She waved to the class as the driver navigated them on the bus and drove off. She stood alone with her arms folded stepping away from the piece. 

  Rae wore a pair of jean overalls that had the straps down, a mustard yellow turtleneck muscle tee and her Converse were covered in paint, legs as well.  She took a tiny paintbrush from her deep pockets and dipped in the black paint before climbing the on to the ladder. M’Baku walked slowly to her, just watching. Her skin was bronze, golden like the most desired treasure known to man. Her bone structure was so precise with a slight extra chin underneath. The apple of her cheeks was so adorable and raised when she smiled slightly. With her hair pulled pack into a low bun, he can observe her features more. He walked to stand behind her, noticing the slight sag of her heavy breasts. As he stood behind her, he noticed the thickness of her thighs, the fluffiness of her bottom and the slight jiggle in her arms.

  When he looked up to see her painting, he met her dark orbs and she looked down at him. The sun above cast a halo around her head. “Can I help ye”, she asked and he stood frozen. She placed her brush behind her ear and stepped down to look at him. “Hello, sir. Are ye lost or someting?” 

“Oh, I’m sorry, ma’am. I just saw you were painting and jus thought I watch you work. It is very beautiful.” She nodded and looked him up and down. “Tank you. I’m Raelyn but everyone calls me Rae”. She held out her hand to be shaken and he did so. “My name is-” She held her hand up and said “I know who ye are. Ye are Lord M’Baku of Wakanda.” He looked to her and said “how did you know that?”

“I do watch TV, Sir M’Baku. The president announced it last week.”

“So, how come people are not all over me? I’m used to people doing as such.” She looked around and said “maybe because ye look like one of us. Ye could easily just be another islander. That should be a good thing. Ye don’t unwanted attention.” He looked to her with a slight shrug. “Well, since ye want to watch do ye mind holding the ladda fuh me”, she asked as she climbed back up and he placed his arms to secure it more with his foot. “What are you doing to the painting if you don't mind me asking?”

“I’m usin’ black paint to outline what the kids did to make their colors pop more. It makes it look cleaner and more polished. I do this to every mural they create then it becomes a whole picture.” He watched as she continued and something in his gut asked why is she so beautiful? “So, Miss Rae, you work at the youth center? What is that like?” She looked down as she still painted and said “I love art. I love kids so it’s a dream to do this. Molding their minds to become bright and wise individuals.” And she loves children and art, just the perfect woman. “Your partner must be very proud.”
