優しい人 (Yasashii Hito)

Goodbye, until the day we meet again
Goodbye, goodbye, kind person
I can still clearly recall
The day we first met
It shines so brightly, bringing back memories
You, a slightly mysterious, yet a wonderful person
Even if you walk a different path
You’ll surely continue to shine
Just, from time to time
Please remember these days
Goodbye, until the day we meet again
You, just you, please
Fulfill your dreams; I’ll be fine
Goodbye, goodbye, kind person
If this is the path you’ve chosen,
Then let’s celebrate your new beginning
But please never forget these days
Goodbye, until the day we meet again
You, just you, spread your wings
And fly towards your sky; I’ll be fine
Goodbye, goodbye, kind person
Kind person

This song was written as a heartfelt farewell to Aoshi (蒼梓), a former long-time band member who had worked alongside Mikoto-sama for many years, including in previous bands, like Ray°C and Otoiroha. Aoshi parted ways with the band on January 25, 2019, marking his final live performance with Zigzag. According to fans who attended the live, Aoshi decided to leave the band scene altogether upon turning 30.
(At that time, Zigzag wasn’t a well-selling band yet, he probably had a family to feed idk lol, but now he owns a cafe it's so cute!!)
To this day, Mikoto-sama continues to speak fondly of Aoshi during live performances, introducing him to newer fans. I recall during one of the live shows from their 4th album 最高 (Saikou) tour, Mikoto-sama said something along the lines of, “There was this one guy, Aocchi. He was smart. He was the mastermind behind Zigzag, coming up with a lot of ideas for the band.”.
(He refers to Aoshi as Aocchi they're so adorable aaaa)
Mikoto-sama also explained that the idea of his “rebirth” was originally Aoshi’s concept, in hope to make the band’s image more unique and appealing to fans. Zigzag had this concept of rebirth, where Mikoto-sama "dying" and being reborn across different generations, from the 1st generation (1代目) to the 9th generation (9代目), which happens when they came up with new costumes. However, after Aoshi left the band, Mikoto-sama mentioned that he felt unsure of how to continue with the rebirth concept, explains why he is now in his “perfect form” (完全体).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I believe Aoshi still keeps in touch with Mikoto-sama and he sometimes attend their shows in Osaka. Like, fans spotted him at their 古禊 (shows that featured their earlier releases, before their first album Daisakkai) on January 25, 2023. He even sent them a flower stand! I love them so much I could cry. Though I became a fan after Aoshi left, this song is what made me fall in love with Zigzag five years ago. The way Mikoto-sama speaks of Aoshi is so beautiful, I was bound to fell in love with the band hehe

Milgram Characters as Rowers
im bored (dw tho fic coming soon (not fugue au though sorry folks)
Terminology
Port/starboard pressure - a way to turn, but everyone has to collaborate (like everything in rowing)
Coxen/to cox - the shortest person gets a little cramped space, and orients big boats. Does not row.
Bow seat - the person that makes sure the boat does not ram into things
Stroke seat - the person that sets the pace of the rowing of the boat
Haruka
do NOT let him bow seat. On god we are going to somehow ascend to heaven. Other than that, it would take him a bit (of boat flipping) and practice, and he would make up for lack of skill w strength, and could be a good asset. His height also makes for a good, long row.
Yuno
I can see her bow seating. Her generally agreeable nature would be good in any position, but she has the assertiveness of a bow seat. She'd either be chatty or DEAD quiet. Her height is a pretty big disadvantage, but she could cox.
Futa
The boat's gonna flip the moment he steps in it /j. He wouldnt be able to go on a boat on his own, but I think he has a general hive mind mentality that would work great. He would be a good stroke seat. His stamina, though...
Mu
We're having a mutiny. She would NOT follow ANYONE, and insist that she's doing it the right way, then get really emotional when yelled at (people do that in rowing but like. tbh you get used to it bc they're just looking out for you lol). She would yell at the bow seat that they're doing it wrong (even if they're doing it right) and then apologize very lightly after realizing her mistake. If there's a storm, there is no way in hell she is following anyone, and she's panicking and almost flipping/zigzagging the boat.
(based slightly off of a real person)
Shidou
I could see him coaching. He would be a gentle coach that everyone would love (he gives easy sets sometimes), but he would go too easy on younger people. On a boat... i've never seen adults row, so idk, but i think he would be good everywhere. He's tall and chill-going, two of the best qualities to have on a boat.
Mahiru
Her airheadedness wouldn't be that great. She probably would get very close to destroying the boat as bow seat, but other than that she woudl be sweet. Her shortness would not benefit her, either. Sorry Mahiru, you're a mid rower.
Kazui
Defffinitely a coach. He has the assertiveness of one, and idk how old people row. He would be seen as weak, but if he rowed by god he would eat other people UP in the water (not in that way guys). in rowing we don't care if you're gay just row the boat correctly and be nice and we like you.
Amane
I could see her coxing, but her young age does make her a little more of a novice. She would probably be the most coolheaded, and get the most compliments about it. i don't think they put kids in bow seat, but she would maintain a MEAN stroke.
Mikoto
Not much to say. Chill guy = good rower. He would have a lot of stress, but due to the time commitment of rowing, he would have even more stress. He would get very nervous bow seat-ing, so he would work better just following others.
John
He'd go well in a single (not a double) but idk how singles work, I've never rowed in one. He would probably be too fast on the recovery (bringing the oars back to the rowing part), due to stress.
Kotoko
on god do not put her in a double or a quad (unless she's steering and can yell at people) because she works better independently "these people are slow, but ig i have to go my own pace" (if she was stroke seat, i think nobody's making it out of there alive she would go so fast)
Es
my favorite. unfortunately, they would be a horrible rower. BUT, i think they would make a wonderful cox. reason being: short and likes being in power. idk much about their coordinative power, but they would probably have enough mind to steer the boat.
