What's the appeal for the Leomikey ship for those who enjoy it? i'm not judging I'm just really curious about it

This is 100%, me being biased and just how I see it and draw it. (Sorry for bad spellings and grammar)

I also ship mikey with basically anything... any version. But I'll be talking mostly about 03 and 12 here since these are my favorite.

Mikey's whole thing is relaxing and having a good time as a party dude- hes a natural at everything ethletic but goofs off most of the time. While Leo is the 'stoic leader' who, probably because he's the oldest, constantly tries being the perfect student and ninja who worries about everything. Training, fighting, meditation, missions, patrol... (and 12Leo worrying about his teammates and brothers dying/him failing)

Mikey can get Leo to take a break and relax, while Leo can get Mikey to focus more when it's important.

For 03 specifically, if my memory is right, Mikey was the only one (besides maybe splinter) who understood Leo during his 'emo phase' and how difficult it is to be a leader. Defending him when the other two are questioning how Leo is acting.

Also... overprotective eldest trying to keep gremlin youngest safe and motherhenning...
