Bring up the time at the Ninja Tribunal as flashbacks, see how Matured Psionic Mikey plays with that old Chi Energy.

A tiny poem i started to write about myself as a little vent, and before it was even finished i realized how Mikey it sounds.

I feel like April and Mikey commiserate over constantly being underestimated and ‘protected’ by everyone else for being human/the youngest.

Speaking of, I find it king of interesting (any annoying, if I’m being honest) how much Raph, Leo and Donnie do baby Mikey. Like, he’s less than a year younger than Leo and Donnie, and only in Rise, so it’s not like he needed that much more protecting than anyone else

tbh i think them babying mikey makes sense. the gaps in age really arent that huge but it defines how they function so much because it was a system they fell into in order to protect themselves, especially in the face of splinter's neglect/depression. like raph stepped up as a pseudo-father figure most obviously, but you can see how this effects leo too. advocating for mikey to have independence, questioning raph when he thinks he's being unreasonable and acting as counsel for him, saying he's an undecided voter and putting emphasis on the importance of his input at the beginning of one man's junk, cheering them all up when their motivation is damaged, etc. and you can see it in the way that donnie and mikey operate, too; it's very rare they try to take the lead. even when donnie questions leo's guidance, you dont actually see him directly challenging it or trying to reroute much. he just goes along with it, even if he doesn't think its a good idea (you can see it most in the movie lol, without raph there leo is The Oldest and that's why donnie and mikey just follow him even though he's being shitty).

and mikey's at the bottom of the ladder here as the very youngest and it shows!! they never PUT anything on mikey, and because all of them have these Roles, mikey's the one that needs to be sheltered and protected the MOST. raph is the most obvious about it but you can see it with the middle children sometimes too lol. it means mikey trusts them wholeheartedly, even if the babying gets to him sometimes-- he never uses i'm only a year-two years younger to argue because he doesnt live in a kind of dynamic where he'd see that as a small gap. leo KIND OF does in hot soup: the game, but its more like "when you were his age" which is NOT the same thing. raph is thinking of the dynamic more than he is the actual ages; mikey was never saddled with the kind of responsibility he was. he's the littlest. that's what matters.

Turtle Temperments/ Leadership Skillz (Part 2)

Welcome back to pt 2!

here’s part one with Leo and Raph's analysis 

But right now, let’s get into my ramble on Donnie and Mikey's temperaments for the 2k12 series!

Donatello- Melancholic 

Why?

Introverted- He is more out spoken in this incarnation, but for the most part Don his described as the soft spoken one. Mostly because he has his three brothers to be compared to. Being an introvert also intails that you gain energy and enjoy times in seclusion. Don deals with stress by working on projects and being immersed in scientific study alone in his lab/room(as specified in “Panic in the Sewers”). 

Bases his decisions on logic and planned out options rather than on the fly and impulsive ones. He has three episodes exampling this trait. Melancholics are vary knowledgeable by nature and will jump at the chance to use their knowledge when called for. They tend to trust proven theory rather than “gut” feeling. Largely exemplified in “Monkey Brains” were Donatello puts more faith in routine combat forms rather than instinctual fighting.  

As a leader- Don is basically a book-smart Leo, BUT there are certain traits of a melancholic that can make Don’s leading style much different from his older bro’s. Being introverted, Don had no real inclination to object to Raph taking over in “New Girl in Town” mostly because he did not want to deal with Raph’s domineering personality. However, Don did show subtle signs of rebellion when Raph was seeming to give ill rational orders. Even though melancholics are not confrontational, they are quite individualistic and can be harder to manipulate. With Leo he get’s people to do the job his way, Don on the other hand, wants to get the job done the right way. Which is why when Raph was proving to be unable to perform his leadership duties correctly, Don had no choice but to take over. So say Leo was gone, Raph was out and Mikey was helpless and needed direction. This is when Donatello makes himself step up and lead in the most efficient way possible. Melancholic leaders can be vary cold and calculating types. Just know when you are up against one, this guy probably already knows what move you are going to make. And he has A LOT of ideas on how to TAKE. YOU. OUT! Don has a much wider range of knowledge than Leo which results in many more options for any situation. With more confidence and decisiveness, Don would make a good leader.  But he would be more than happy to step down and give the title to someone he deemed more competent. A melancholic disposition is being vary self critical and depressing (hence Melancholy), this is what stops him from wanting the title of leadership. Not to mention he wouldn’t have as much time to feed his need for knowledge, the vary core of his confidence.

Michelangelo- Phlegmatic 

Why?

Introvert- YES, THE PARTY DUDE IS AN INTROVERT!

You- “GTFO”

Hey I know this is hard to believe, but bare with me here! Yes he is out going, loud and people oriented. But this comes from being Phlegmatic aka a quiet people person. Haven’t convinced you yet? His introversion is seen well…whenever he is being weird and goofing off *cough 24/7 cough*. There is much more to being an introvert than just being quiet and reserved. He is almost never “all there.“In his own world, and frankly has no regard for what people think of his strangeness. This IS a big sign of introverted and Phlegmatic behavior. Being extroverted means you have a need to feed conversation and have a sensitivity to the “vibes” of an atmosphere. HA! You can always count on Mikey to mess up the mood of any moment, due to his inability to feel “vibes” since he’s only interested in what goes on inside his own head. I am NOT saying he can’t empathize with people, in fact thats his bigest trait as a phlegmatic! The phlegmatic is a contradicting temperament in it’s self. Another example of his introversion also comes to light when ever Leo and Raph are arguing. We all know Don and Mikey just end up in the background, AND WHY? Because they are the two introverts of the team, not as confrontational and quieter as oppose to their more outspoken brothers.

Bases his decisions on emotions then logic. BIG example is when he was the only one who wanted to take Leatherhead, a vary dangerous mutant, back to their home in “It Came form the Depths”. Even though Raph bases his decisions the same way, he is more cynical where Mikey is optimistic. Basically, Mikey will always take action to help others who are in need. He'l ask if they'er good are bad later.

“We gotta help that gator dude. I can’t wait around for you cowards!” 

As a leader-  Now don’t count Mikey out just yet. There are plenty of phlegmatic leaders out there. One can argue that they make the most well liked leaders. Due to phlegmatics being born followers, they show more consideration for the people under them. Were Mikey lacks in other fields of knowledge  he makes up for in empathy toward people he meets. Phlematics are the most laid back temperament and the easiest to be around.  We’re Leo is a born leader Mikey can become a learned leader. When the chips are down Mikey has the ability to mimic Leo’s leadership but on a more empathetic level. (If the show will give him credit for that kind of feat) Although the joke is cracked a lot(twice) on how Mikey likes to volunteer as leader, but honestly he would not enjoy the role for too long. He is generally a free spirit and allowed to be one because he has three brothers that do all the worrying. It would take A LOT to push Mikey to his potential as a leader. We do get a glimpse of this push in 2k3 episode “Same As It Never Was”

(OOOH GWAD FEELS COMING TO HAUNT ME NOOOO)  All of that bad shit happening was what unfortunately forced Mikey to grow up. Hopefully it won’t take the split up of his brothers for him to wise up and take charge in this series….but it just might….

I need to keep up the thoughts of 2003 Mikey being loved by 03 Raph through Raph’s rough treatment, even though Mikey’s exaggerated pain at the head slaps still makes me flinch sadly.

Okay, so. You remember how 2003 Mikey would hug Raph and be shoved away, or be growled at? I can’t help but think that Raphie is a bad brother. He’s not! He loves Mikey so intensely. He cares so deeply, he just prefers to maintain a gruff character persona, he shows love in his own way, and I need to keep reminding myself of this. It’s just that he loves deeply and has a rough harsh surface. The opposite of what I’m used to.

And speaking of caring on the surface but not really, I can’t stop thinking about my abusive former friend (my husband’s former best friend) who called me sister often, he made fun of me in weird ways to show his love, but he and his wife who was my best friend both turned out to be full of narcissistic manipulation… which I must add is actually absolutely nothing like Raphael. And yet I still flinch at any family dynamic where older siblings beat up younger because I can’t differentiate between caring and abusive unless it’s blatant.

But it was a fantastic daydream. I wrote it down so I could put it in a later fic. Imagine 2018 Raph eavesdropping and freaking out in general.

— KAZUTORA.

When Kazutora finds out about your gang, he's surprised, to say the least - and not in a good way. To him, women don't belong in the delinquent world and he'll act hostile towards your gang in response, immediately seeing you as an obstacle to overcome, something to get rid of before it can cause too much trouble.

He has some deeply ingrained beliefs about strength and power so he finds it hard to believe that a women-only gang could rival any of the male-dominated gangs of Tokyo anyway.

However, when a fight breaks out between your gangs, Kazutora finds himself intrigued and slightly impressed by your strength. He watches you, analyses your technique, and he eventually recognizes that you are worthy of your title and are obviously not here by mistake.

He ends up developing a strange but genuine sense of respect and admiration for you — though you'll never catch him admitting that out loud.

"So...you're the girl who claims to be leading one of Japan's biggest gangs?" he looks you up and down. "Don't think I'll go easy on you just because you're a woman."

"Ha. I wouldn't expect you to. I've heard a lot about you, Hanemiya. You've got quite the reputation, you know?" you smirked. "But let's see if you can back up that talk with action."

— DRAKEN.

Draken's calm nature leads him to be open-minded and respectful towards you and your gang — doesn't matter if your first encounter is friendly or a little less amicable. He's surprised to see that a gang like yours exist, that's for sure, but he admires your strength and leadership qualities more than he worries about the 'women only' aspect of it.

He probably wouldn't want to get involved with you, though. He's totally against hitting women no matter what, so, with Mikey's approval, he'll try to find a common ground with you and offer compromises that could benefit both sides in order to avoid confrontation.

He might also harbour a tiny crush on you or one of your gang members.... But that's none of anyone's business.

— MIKEY.

Mikey takes you and your gang very seriously right from the start, and he quickly learns that: 1) you're not to be messed with, and 2) underestimating and belittling you would be a huge mistake.

However, just like Draken, fighting and hurting women in any way is a no-no. Not because he doesn't think you're capable of fighting back, far from it, but because keeping women safe has always been one of Toman's top priorities. He'll only fight you if he absolutely has to, that means only if your gang is pure evil or an actual threat to Toman.

On the contrary, if your gangs grow closer over the years, he'll gladly accept a friendly fight with you or your girls.

Although he doesn't really show it, Mikey is very admirative of you — a feeling that only intensifies when he finds out that the Jotei Rengou actually shares most of Toman's beliefs and is really similar to it in multiple aspects. He's also surprised by your strength and strategic thinking, which earns his silent admiration.

It kind of makes him want to welcome women into his own gang.

— KOKONOI.

Koko will treat your gang like any other gang. The fact that you're all women matters very little to him. You know what you got yourself into when you entered the world of street gangs and delinquency, therefore you must know what you're doing and you probably know how to fight back.

Koko immediately sees the power and influence you hold over your gang as you lead and command them, and he soon starts to see you as a valuable ally or potential rival, depending on how your gangs' first interaction unfolds.

He'd be lying if he said he wasn't intrigued by your backstory and your rise to power, because he knows you must've gone through hell and back before people actually started taking you seriously and accepted you as one of Japan's most notorious gangs.

"I don't remember inviting outsiders to my territory."

"I couldn't resist the chance to meet you!You're a hard one to find, you know?" he said, opening his arms and sticking his tongue out. "I've dreamed of this moment, Jotei Rengou."

— HANMA.

The first time Valhalla and Jotei Rengou come face to face, Hanma laughs. He laughs because it's evident to him that you don't belong at the head of a gang, and he makes sure you know how unserious he thinks your 'pathetic little gang' is.

He tries to provoke you by insulting you and your methods, clearly wanting to test your patience. However, he quickly realizes that you're not easily swayed by his manipulation tactics, having no trouble firing back at him.

Hanma finds you intriguing, and although he won't openly admit it, he's secretly impressed by your ability to stay calm and command respect and loyalty from your gang members — who all look extremely hot and badass, he must admit.

Hanma quickly starts thinking about how he could use your influence and power to his own advantage. He sees you as a potential ally or a stepping stone to achieve his goals.

— BAJI.

Baji is absolutely thrilled by the idea of facing such powerful women as opponents.

Though he can't do much without Mikey's approval, he sees this encounter as an opportunity for a great adrenaline-pumping battle. A rival gang is a rival gang, your gender doesn't hold him back in the slightest.

He's heard the rumors and whispers about the Jotei Rengou so he knows how serious you are about this — and although he'll approach you with a his usual cocky attitude, the last thing he'll do is underestimate you. The things he knows only fuels his determination further, and he looks forward to testing his skills against such interesting opponents.

"Well, well, well...what do we have here?" Baji smirks. "The Jotei Rengou and their infamous leader in person. Bold move showing up here, ladies."

"Hey, let's cut the small talk and make this interesting, shall we?" you smirk back, getting off your bike. "I'll show you what my gang's made of, and you boys can try to keep up."

— IZANA.

Izana is intrigued, but he doesn't take your gang seriously. He's heard of you and the damage you've done around Tokyo, but he's convinced that someone else is behind your crimes. He firmly believes that a woman's strength couldn't possibly match up to a man's, let alone his own.

But when you effortlessly take down some of Tenjiku's strongest members, Izana's initial arrogance towards you immediately starts to fade. He finds himself getting more and more frustrated as your fighting style proves to be just as efficient as his own.

Despite being impressed, Izana refuses to let his feelings show. Instead, he starts analyzing your moves, determined to find a weakness to exploit and make you regret ever crossing his path.
