That face- Mike couldn't read minds, but he knew he'd gotten under Brandon's skin with that one, so to speak. With a little more of a devious smirk, though he did keep his volume low, he replied, "What? There aren't any guests around here~" But it had been a fair point. As much as he was enjoying the flirting, he supposed he did have to concede this one and let Brandon stay a little more professional. At least, for now. "Alright, alright, I'll stop." he said with a quiet chuckle.

Uh-oh though. That face and this pause sent a little jolt through him that he tried to keep hidden. Though clearly Brandon had his own thoughts going on right now. Hopefully that would make it harder to notice that slight change in his stance, his expression maybe. It was just a little, pulse, really. A split second of regret at first- this might have been too short notice, of course it would be, Brandon's always working. Though, he does a fair amount of shifts that are short-notice too, filling in for co-workers and such, so, as long as he'd gotten here first, then maybe he wasn't asking Brandon to abandon some previous commitment.

He primed himself to speak, to tell him that of course, he'd understand, just in case. After all, he could never be mad or disappointed by that. Mike wouldn't even have to say that for Brandon to know it, and of course he was plenty capable of doing his job flying solo. There'd be no harm done at all if they didn't go together. But still. The idea had already burrowed itself into his mind, then built a little nest there and decorated it with all sorts of sweet ideas~ It was difficult not to overthink it in those couple of seconds of quiet.

Thankfully though, right as he was readying the speech switch, Brandon's answer sent the full grin beaming again. Seems no-one had dumped another shift on him so far

"Ah- nooo, I see what you're doing there." Mike playfully warned, standing upright again as he sort of pointed and waggled the flyer at him, scolding finger style. "You're not getting past me to be all, 'dignified gentleman' on me. I see your game." In truth, it wasn't like said game was doing any harm. It wasn't offensive to want to show your boyfriend a good time, and really, he didn't mind being treated. But half- or some of the fun at least- was in the competition~

"Well, joke's on you, because this is technically a business expense~ So, checkmate." He smirked again, tucking the flyer back into his pocket. That'd prevent any chivalrous tricks. "Besides." He leaned on the counter once again, and flashed Brandon a knowing smile. "You might end up like another teacher in there. And people don't pay to be teachers."

It was always surprising to hear when Brandon was so positive about Mike’s work- not because he expected differently from Brandon, but because Brandon’s acceptance was a rare gem amongst the chaos of those other occasions. Mike glanced away, almost blushing. “Yeah, well~ you have a point there~”

His smile returned as bright as ever as he finished off his plan and waited for Brandon to answer. And he stifled a joyous gasp at those conclusive words~ The teasing question that followed though, now that was something to raise a brow at.

“I know that..” He replied somewhat anxiously, volume dropping now as he looked back at Brandon with a twinkle in his eye. “I don’t know, I think being over the shoulder of a cute, strong guy like you might be something I can interested in~ even if it is a, flying visit.” He winked , then laughed a little, unable to hold a straight face any longer- not that he’d really stopped smiling to begin with.

“So, should I go ahead and book us a class for tonight? That is, if you don’t have plans or anything.”

Seeing Mike glancing away for a second just got this smile stretching a little wider, one side turning up slightly more. It was maybe the thing Brandon liked most between them, the sense of honest acceptance. It’s not surprising how difficult it is to find that for either of them. At least, for their full lives that is. He was always so grateful to be able to be so open with Mike, and hoped he knew he could do the same with him.

The almost gasp got a contained chuckle from him, watching him with fond amusement. He really hopes that Sir doesn’t stop by here. That’d really put a damper on their conversation. And Brandon quite likes Mike’s energy.

Even when it sometimes has him saying things like that. Brandon tried biting the inside of his cheek to keep from grinning to much, eyes rolling up in response. "You know I’m still at work right now, right?” That’s just his way of trying not to show the slight flustered feeling he got. Cause that grin isn’t leaving one bit.

“Oh it’s tonight?” No he’s not scheduled for any shifts or anything really tonight. But he’s almost always called back in on nights for the dinner shifts. No doubt that’d happen today also. Still, looking at Mike, he really wanted to do this with him. And all of him felt bad that it was still such a tug of war between work and any other activity still.

In the end, “No I don’t have anything else tonight.” Brandon assured. “If you could book it that’d be great. Is there any fee for it?” He wondered, intended on paying for the both of them without a second thought. Then again, he’d probably have to be there during the booking to do that.

A/N: So this is a little different, I guess? Anyway... It's out there now. PSA: The 'wokeness' only goes so far as I reasonably assumed from a bunch of horny college dudes, okay?

"Alright, mother Leon, you have the floor," Charles said as he lifted a beer to his lips. 

"Mike isn't here yet, should we wait?" Leon asked - they always asked. The reaction was no different this time than all the other times: laughter. 

"He'll get here when he gets here," Marshall said. They weren't mad about it - genuinely. Mike knew he was like this, he never asked them to wait, and he usually accepted whatever decision was made for the house in his absence. 

"On to our first - incredibly important - order of business." Leon's tone was such that Sherlock already sank back in his chair, looking embarrassed. "Sherlock, she stayed the night. Is the bet settled?" 

"Leon," Geralt warned. 

"I know you're in on that bet, Geralt, don't bother pretending," Sherlock muttered. 

"Oh, I'm not referring to the fact he brought it up," Geralt stated point blank, "he was just planning on being a dick about it. He shouldn't." His next glance in Leon's - and Charles' - direction was a warning shot. 

"Ah," Sherlock replied, "well. In any case, I don't know if it's settled. Personally, I find myself hung up on definitions." 

"'Are you still a virgin?' sounds simple enough, right?" Sy asked, looking amused and confused at the same time.

"On the surface, yes," Sherlock mused. In between sentences he wondered why it was so difficult for him to discuss the emotional side of these things, yet so incredibly simple to argue the semantics. Geralt looked amused by the turn this conversation was taking, as did Marshall and August. "I simply cannot accept the definition of the word 'virgin' as 'someone who has not had sex'." 

"Well, what's the problem, then?" Charles demanded. 

"The first problem with it would be the definition of the word 'sex'." 

"Aren't you supposed to be the smart one?" Charles scoffed. 

"That might just be why I've come to the conclusions I have come to, and you haven't." It wasn’t much like Sherlock to say things like that, but the others had noticed the growing animosity between him and Charles, and they’d all been waiting for it to come to a head. 

"Are you calling me daft, Holmes?"

"I'm surprised you managed to work that out, Brandon." That was certainly enough to piss off Charles - thoroughly. He opened his mouth to say something when August put a hand on his shoulder. 

"I'm going to recommend backing off, Charles," he said with a smirk on his face that clearly showed he was impressed with Sherlock, "when it comes to a battle of wits, Sherlock has all of us outgunned." Sherlock nodded at him, appreciative of the acknowledgment - and the help in keeping Charles' fists away from his face. Charles didn't have a terrible temper, but he was generally a sore loser, which made him unpredictable at times. 

"The question?" Leon said to bring them back to the conversation. 

"Right," Charles said, "the widely accepted definition would be... How do I put this?" They all knew what he meant, but this was a particularly uncomfortable one to say out loud. You bet they were going to make him. They waited nearly half a minute before Geralt had had enough. 

"For god's sake, man, are you twelve? The widely accepted definition would be 'penis in vagina'. That's what you're trying to say, right?"

"Yes," Charles answered curtly. 

"I don't think I agree with that definition, either." Sherlock said. 

"You can't just disagree with definitions because they don't suit you, Holmes."

"I disagree with them because they make no sense, Solo."

"I have to say I'm with Sherlock on this one," August said. Marshall and Geralt nodded in agreement. Charles, Leon and Sy formed the other side. 

"Sorry I'm late!" Mike stepped into the kitchen with his coat still on. 

"Perfect timing. We're in need of a tie-breaker," Marshall said. "What's sex?" 

"I feel someone should have told you that by now, Marshall..."

"Very funny, we're serious. It's a fifty-fifty split on the…” Now it was Marshall’s turn to feel flustered over having to say that. Luckily,  Geralt wasn’t prepared to wait around for another thirty seconds, and offered up the same description he had before. 

“Yeah, well… that,” Marshall continued, “versus 'not quite sure, but not just that', what do you say?" 

"I say; give a man some time to step inside the goddamn house before hitting him with your little existential crisis."

"Mike," August laughed, "answer the damn question." 

"I'm with the side that says dicking a girl down isn't all there is to it." 

"Subtle," Marshall said. Apart from the obvious amusement at his wording, most people seemed surprised at the side Mike chose in the debate.

"Always," Mike replied with a big smile. "Besides, because I see you guys looking surprised, it's literally called 'oral sex'. I feel that that should say something." 

"Thank you, Mike." Sherlock grinned.

"Alright, but I'm gonna need a better argument. Exactly how does the traditional definition not make sense?" Sy weighed in. 

"I don't need to convince you," Sherlock said. 

"Let's make it interesting," Charles chimed in, "sway any of us three, you win the bet yourself?" He looked at the others, who all agreed to the idea. Sherlock needed to consider it only for a moment. With the seven of them in on it, that was quite a bit of money. 

"Alright, first off, by that definition, lesbians can't have sex. Typically. Neither can gay men. Again, typically."

"Correct," Charles replied, "but has it somehow escaped your attention that you are neither a gay man nor a lesbian?" 

"It hasn't, thank you for your concern, but the fact of the matter is that the definition of ‘sex’ we have established as ‘widely accepted’ functions only where heterosexual relationships are concerned. Now I would personally find it preposterous to propose that physical intimacy can only be considered sex in situations involving a cisgender woman and a cisgender man, and to suggest that any physical intimacy that does not fit the aforementioned heteronormative definition is a ‘different kind’ of sex would be a particularly outdated take on the matter. 

“If one wishes so desperately to warp the definition of sex in such a way that it encompasses all kinds of physical intimacy that could possibly be defined as sex, in any and all possible configurations of relationships, it quickly becomes a matter of where you draw the line. The argument of oral sex that Mike pointed out earlier, really makes itself. And even then, why would that be the threshold? 

"And lastly I..." There was a short silence as Sherlock tried to come up with the words he needed to express the thought he was having. 

"Please keep talking, before one of them opens their mouth," August said. Much like Geralt, he'd been enjoying watching Charles and Leon get obliterated by Sherlock's solid logic. 

"I refuse to think of the things that don't fit the traditional definition of the word as 'other' or 'less than', because it would discredit the experience and everything surrounding it, and I cannot bring myself to do that." His voice was soft as he said it, and he couldn't seem to peel his gaze away from his hands, which rested in his lap. He noticed his fingers trembled slightly, though he couldn’t say he was so nervous that it was to be expected. 

“All things considered, one might come to the conclusion that there is something inherently flawed about any concept that depends so heavily on the definition of something that is so exceptionally difficult to define.” 

"So," Leon asked curiously, "what definitions would you suggest, instead?"

"None. I would sooner come to the conclusion that the concept of virginity is, to put it plainly - and pardon my French - fucking ridiculous, completely unnecessary and nothing other than a falsely attributed currency of virtue used as a tool to impose outdated patriarchal values and the notion of commodity on women while simultaneously serving to emasculate and ridicule men who haven't rid themselves of it soon enough by anyone's personal and completely arbitrary standards. As for the definition of sex… I genuinely don’t think I care." 

"Hand the man his money," Sy said with a sigh. Napoleon pulled the cash out of his wallet and tossed it on the table while grinning widely. 

Charles shook his head in disbelief. “Bastard,” he muttered under his breath. The look on his face clearly showed he was impressed. 

“Charles, I’d like for you to take a moment to consider the following: In what universe was it a good idea to make a bet that depends heavily on the other person’s ability to present a logical argument,” August said, “with the genius law and philosophy student?” His tone was amused and only slightly derisive.  

“Now that this is settled,” Napoleon continued, “we have serious matters to discu-” He was interrupted by the door opening and a whole lot of noise in the hall. 

“What are the girls doing here?” Charles asked. 

“We were already here.” Elena appeared in the doorway. “Because, as Leon so kindly pointed out, I did spend the night here. Nice speech, by the way, Sherlock.” She walked around the table and stood next to him, an arm around her shoulder. To her surprise - and perhaps everyone else’s - he pulled her into his lap. 

“And so did we.” Anjelica looked over her shoulder to Danielle and Solveig, who were laughing about a joke she hadn’t heard. “We went out to get some groceries.” 

‘Some groceries’ was apparently a new way to describe three whole bags, completely full of food. 

“Do we have rabbits I don’t know about?” Mike ducked when he saw Marshall’s hand swinging for the back of his head, only to get hit by Geralt when he came back up. “Guys, come on, that’s more vegetables than we’ve seen in this house in at least a year!” 

“The three of us,” Solveig gestured to Ange, Dani and herself, “talked about cooking for our guys yesterday, so we asked Elena to join, and she was on board.” 

“But we figured we couldn’t punish the rest of the house for being single, so we’ll feed all of you, if you ask nicely.” Dani leaned her head against Charles’ shoulder and then gave him a sweet smile. He shot a suggestive look in Mike’s direction just to get a rise out of him, but Mikey was Mikey, and therefore wasn’t paying attention to his surroundings at all. Not the part he should have been paying attention to, at least.

“Free food, and I don’t gotta make it?” Sy said with a massive grin on his face. “Count me in!” The other three didn’t complain, either. 

Leon called for everyone’s attention again, and this time he wasn’t interrupted by everyone and everything, which was nice. The plan itself was simple: New Year’s party. 

“You’re not planning a party two days in advance?” Dani looked like her head was going to explode. That was just not possible… The other girls seemed to agree. 

“Worry not, ladies,” Charles interrupted. He put an arm around Solveig’s shoulder, but a simple look from Geralt told him that if he wanted to keep all the equipment he planned on using during that party he was planning, he’d better stop touching his girl. Charles and Leon talked everyone through the plans they’d been making for weeks. As it turns out, the girls didn’t know about this thing, because the guys had just not told them. Mike couldn’t use the others’ excuse that it didn’t come up, and had to go with the truth that he’d simply forgotten to mention it when he and Dani had discussed it. Luckily, Sloane and Ari were on board - especially now that the guys they’d been going out with had made different plans, involving different girls. Even through text, Slo couldn’t exactly hide her excitement about the fact that she was: A. Finally getting to meet Mike, whom Dani had hidden from them purposely and quite successfully, and B. getting to meet the others in the house, first and foremost: Sy. 

The girls chased everyone out of the kitchen when it was a little past two. Cooking for a grand total of twelve people was a massive chore in and of itself, that always took longer than initially expected, and some of these guys got serious attitudes when they weren’t properly fed on time. And ‘some of these guys’ could definitely be interpreted as ‘all of them’. They figured it was probably best to start early. 

“Geralt, if you do not get out of this kitchen at once, I’m not responsible for what happens!” It was a very intimidating thing to hear from the nearly 6ft. tall Scandinavian, especially since she was holding a very sharp knife. 

“Just came to check on you,” Geralt said. He was actually brave enough to walk up to her and wrap his arms around her. “If now were the time for jokes, I’d say something about your cooking skills making you wife material.”

“Ah, I see,” Sol snapped, “and in response to that, I wouldn’t laugh, and I’d tell you to cook for me sometime. So I can see if you’re husband material. Now, get out.”

“Do I need to fetch you some painkillers?” She responded with a nod and a ‘yes’ in the softest voice. 

“There’s some in my bag,” Ange said, saving Geralt a trip upstairs before kicking him out of the kitchen herself. They continued working on dinner, hoping none of the other guys would decide to come sneak a peek at dinner. 

"Period?" Elena asked Sol casually while cutting a whole load of tomatoes. Mike could just about have been right when he made his rabbit joke.

"From hell," Sol confirmed as she took the pills from Ange, "and he always knows, and he's so sweet about it, but I just yell at him." 

"Blowjobs make for fantastic apologies," Ange said and both she and Sol laughed. 

"Now I feel sad Dani has nothing to apologize for." It was Mikey's signature tone, the one where you could just hear the grin seeping through. 

“Mike! Leave!” Anjelica was scary - all 4’11” of her. 

"Drink and hug, then I'm gone," he said as he wrapped his arms around Dani, who had been tasked with peeling and mincing enough garlic to fend off a small army of vampires. 

"Hi," Dani said before turning her head for a quick kiss, "go grab a drink." She really wanted to finish this task with the same amount of fingers she'd started with. 

"Thank you," Mike said suddenly, "I've never had a girlfriend cook for me before. It's nice." He grabbed a beer from the fridge and disappeared. 

"He is so cute," Elena said. 

"Hey!" Of course Sherlock walked in at exactly that moment. Ange was just about boiling over with rage at this point. 

"Out! Holmes, get out! God is there no place where a couple of girls can talk without being interrupted every twenty-five seconds?" 

"I thin women fought long and hard for years just to make it so that the kitchen was no longer that place," August answered as he stepped into the kitchen. Funnily enough, Anjelica's anger disappeared miraculously. 

"Hey baby," she said with a sweet smile as August walked over to her. 

"Aren't you supposed to try and scare me out of your kitchen?" He sounded amused, which was an interesting new mood for most of the girls to experience. 

"August, darling," Anjelica said sweetly, "did I mention I used the money my parents gave me for Christmas to treat myself to a new set of lingerie?" Sherlock almost choked on the piece of bell pepper he had stolen from the container next to Elena's cutting board, which caused her to elbow him in the ribs.

"You didn't," August answered, clearly not liking where this was going. 

"Well you won't get to see it if you don't fuck off." 

"Simple but effective," August said before giving her a quick kiss and walking away. 

"If all of you don't fuck off, August." 

"Holmes get the fuck out of that kitchen," August yelled, and then he turned his attention to Sy, who was apparently also on his way to the kitchen: "Syverson, don't even think about it." The boys laughed - and so did the girls. 

"We need a girl's night," Dani said impulsively. She shocked herself; she wasn't usually so outgoing, and she was very glad that the others were quick to agree. 

"I live with mostly guys, and three of them are on teams with guys from here," Ange said, "my place is out." 

"I couldn't fit all of us in my room if I tried," Elena added.

"I don't even have the keys to my place yet," Sol said with a smile. Something told the others that she would be a bit uncomfortable having the three of them over, too. Not that the others were any better acquainted.

"Well, Ari and Slo wouldn't mind having everyone over at ours, and I'm pretty sure after the party we'll have intel on most of the house…" Dani grinned. 

"Marshall, Leon, Charles and Sy are missing, right?" Anjelica's tone was devious. Heat rose to Dani's cheeks.

"Marshall, Leon and Charles," she corrected. The others looked at her wide-eyed. 

"Are you saying what I think you're saying?" Solveig whispered. 

"I-" Dani started, but she was quickly interrupted by Charles. 

"OUT!" All four of them yelled at the same time, which had the desired effect and terrified Charles as a lovely bonus. 

"I'm making a group chat now," Anjelica said with another curious glance in Dani's direction, "girl's night is on."

If you were to remix the cannon ships, who would end up with whom?

Ooh…now that’s a fun question! Also, wow, thank you! I’m so happy you like it! You have no idea how excited I got to read that! I am in fact writing the next chapter right now! (Hoping to get it up tomorrow or the day after).

Remixing the canon ships…I assume you just mean the Winx and the Specialists…people I’d like to see together…I’d love to see Bloom and Riven give it a go. I think that’d be fun, though they’d probably crash and burn later on, but they’re both impulsive, they’d kick ass for each other, no questions asked. Plus, despite all his faults, I don’t see Riven as someone who’d ever risk making Bloom feel uncomfortable, which Sky did a number of times in the comics, about her socioeconomic background. Plus, I don’t think wherever Riven comes from is a great family environment, so bonus points for him getting Mike and Vanessa in the deal. Also, Bloom and Helia could be fun…the impulsive spitfire and the calm guy that’ll stay chill and keep her calm right up until it really counts, and then he’ll be her badass protector. That’d be awesome. And…Bloom and Stella. They’re besties but I can see them making out and getting married just as easily! Plus, Brandon and Bloom just because…he’s just this very sweet guy, and I can see them being cute. And in the first season then she’d have stress around him because he’s a prince and she’s not a good match for a prince and he wants to tell her the truth and then he gets to tell her on his own time and maybe it’s their secret and they date in secret cause the prince is officially engaged.

Tecna and Timmy are so incredibly cute that I can’t really bear to split them up, but that’s the game, so let’s play…Tecna and Riven could be fun, more friendship vibes, really, but I can see her straight-talking nature being very good for him. Timmy and Flora, they’re both quiet with a love for science, computers and biology respectively, and I can see them being very cute and introverted together.

Helia and Riven could be cute. So could Flora and Riven. (Riven’s surprisingly in demand.) Flora and Sky could be cute, they have some nice moments. Maybe Helia and Musa, though I can’t fight the feeling that they’d have fun making their art together, but Musa would just be a bit much for Helia.

Aisha and Musa. I want this, I love this already, wrote them as canon in a discontinued fic, love it. Nabu and Riven, too. These guys got each other’s partners. They got all mixed up and confused.

Musa and Brandon. I like this idea, to be honest. I think Brandon could handle Musa having some flirtier, more dramatic behaviour much better than Riven, and maybe his nonchalant attitude towards it all would help her not overreact to so much. Also, he’s quite the gentleman, which I think she’d like. Riven and Sky, too, that’d be cool. I honestly would love to see them as enemies to lovers. Riven x Nabu is my favourite for cute vibes, but this is my favourite in terms of how much fun it’d be.

Stella and Bloom, as I said, plus, Stella and Timmy, they just…I’m not sure they’ve ever really interacted, but I think they could have so much cute potential! And Brandon and Sky, that’d be cute, I can see them going from bromance to romance, no issue.

So, in summation, if I’m remixing all the ships so everyone gets a new partner…I’m gonna pick the ships I think would be most fun.

Aisha x Musa

Riven x Sky, then they later break up because they just get on each other’s nerves, and Riven falls for Aisha’s arranged husband, so Riven x Nabu endgame

Flora x Sky after he and Riven break up, and she gives him a nice, more relaxed relationship

Bloom x Brandon (because it’d make season one way more fun)

Stella x Timmy, just…just for the fun vibes. That’d be so much fun, I’d love to see him get introduced to her parents.

I can’t really think who of the remaining cast to pair Tecna and Helia with, since…well, I don’t think they match very well. And I won’t push them together for the sake of it, so they can be single, but Helia already has an obvious thing for Krystal, so he can get together with her, and Tecna…anyone remember Orion from season 8? I only just remembered him, but actually, they could be cute. And so that is my remixing of the ships, and my preamble ramble! Thank you very much for the ask, and your comment about SiS made my day! Summary: The morning after the New Years party, the kitchen gets rather crowded...

Warnings: mention of eating disorders, mention of horrible parents and divorce, and also chaos. This is a kitchen scene, after all.

"Good morning." If anything, Geralt sounded a little tired, but that was all. He looked around the still mostly empty kitchen, where his greeting was met with a more hungover-sounding growl. Leon looked like he'd seen better days, for sure, but the most striking thing about his presence was the absence of Ariel. 

"You still struck out last night? Man, you- ow!" Dani elbowed Mikey in the ribs to shut him up - a strategy that worked perfectly - before looking at Sol and rolling her eyes. 

"Don't act all high and mighty, ladies - please move, too," August said as he came up behind them, moving to do what no one else seemed inclined to do: make coffee. "I know how you talk about us." 

"In private," Anjelica countered. 

"In excruciatingly graphic detail," August snapped, raising his voice to a point where apparently Leon's hangover couldn't handle it.

"Shh," he groaned miserably as he let his head hang. August scoffed. 

Solveig and Anjelica shuffled to the other side of the kitchen.

"We can't fit sixteen people in here," Sol noted casually.

"Well, for starters," Mike said with an unbearable smirk, "it's fifteen at best. Right, Leon?" 

"Mike, don't be a cunt," Marshall said behind him right as he swung his hand into the back of Mike's head. All heads turned to him immediately. He looked like shit - really, any other way to describe it would by no means cover just how terrible he looked. Now, it was just a matter of time before someone would bring up what happened. 

The girls watched in awe as none of the guys said anything. Even when Elena and Sherlock, and later Charles and Sloane came into the kitchen, everyone pretended like nothing had happened, and Marshall's face didn't look like a raccoon that had been run over by a monster truck. 

"I'm sorry, this is nuts," Anjelica snapped after a while, as she tore herself away from August and walked over to Marshall, who had slumped down in a chair. 

"Ange," Sy said from the doorway leading into the kitchen, "before ya open that can o' worms… Fourteen people can't cook no breakfast in here at the same time." He was right, though: it was incredibly crowded in this kitchen. 

"That's the bigger problem to you?" Dani asked in disbelief when Ange looked around and seemed to actively work on a solution for the issue.

Ange turned around to her. "It is. They'll get hungry. If we don't want these big babies to break the house down, we'll have to feed them." 

"I'll be outta your hair, anyway, Sy," Alicia said softly, barely loud enough for anyone but Sy to hear. She turned away immediately, making her way to the door.

"Liz, wait!" Sy followed her into the hallway. "I'd love to take you out soon. I-if you'll let me, 'course." 

"Alright, text me," she said before giving Sy a quick kiss and disappearing. 

Back in the kitchen, the girls had decided that, since they had cooked for the boys a few days before, it was now the guys' turn to make them food. The motion had made it through by unpopular vote, which meant no more than that each of the girls had given their respective boyfriend that look, and the boys - who would really like to get laid again somewhere in the next month - had agreed. Now, Mike was on pancake duty, August in charge of bacon and eggs, and Sherlock was making more coffee. The smell of food made Leon's face paler than it had been when he had first sat down at the table, and it wasn't long before he disappeared into his room - well, after a rather unpleasant sounding stop in the bathroom. 

"None for me, thanks," Sol said as she took another sip of her orange juice, absentmindedly waving the plate August held out to her away. 

"Sol," Geralt started, but he didn't get very far. 

"Geralt, drop it," she snapped back at him. 

"One egg, please," he tried again. Sol whipped her head around and scowled at Geralt. 

"Geralt, over the course of two weeks I have moved to another country, been surrounded by far too many people almost constantly, suffered through a party where I didn't even know most guests, and I took care of you when you were overwhelmed… Now look me in the eye and listen: I don't. Want. Breakfast." Without saying another word - and almost burning herself on the pot of fresh coffee Sherlock was holding - she paced out of the kitchen and up the stairs, leaving the boys behind in a state of bewilderment. The girls, less so… 

"Eating disorder?" Anjelica asked Geralt point blank. 

He nodded, disarmed by her bluntness. "I don't get it, she looks fantastic, I…" Anjelica rolled her eyes and waved at him dismissively before getting up on a chair, putting a hand on either side of his face and pulling him in. 

"Listen," she said, "that's not what that's about. Right now, it's her coping mechanism. She's overwhelmed - and who can blame her - and she doesn't know what to do. We'll all keep an eye on her, but for now you just focus on helping her wind down, okay? She's going to be okay." She let go of his face and stepped off the chair. 

"How do you know?" Geralt asked hesitantly. 

"I'm the same way," Ange answered, "I mean… I have August to slap the shit out of me now…"

"Always happy to help," August interjected dryly. 

"Oh, shut up," Anjelica chuckled. She looked at the table, where Elena, Dani and Sloane were sitting. "Ladies?" Her eyes were asking a question, but the boys couldn’t put a finger on what it was until the girls began to answer it.

"I mean, you've all met my mother," Elena half-joked. All eyes were on Dani next.

"Gymnast," she answered in between bites of pancake. Apparently, that was all the explanation the others needed, leaving the guys looking confused. "Slo?" 

"I was a dancer, classical ballet. Puberty hit early, I got a little too much shape… Bada-bing, bada-boom, next thing you know, I'm thinking two rice crackers before a four-hour pointe class is plenty," she said, "Ange?"

"Hockey and horseback riding," she mused, "plus, I went to private school. Boulimia was like the newest Marc Jacobs bag. No one actually liked it, but you just had to have it." 

When the girls laughed about Anjelica's story, the guys looked at them as if they had gone absolutely bat shit crazy - which didn’t change much, even after the explanation that being completely miserable about it all of the time wasn’t going to do anyone any good, either.

"Right," Sloane said after she finished her toast and eggs, "I should get going. I have studying to do, because med school is a bitch!"

"Alright, let me…" Charles tried to get up from his chair, but Slo pushed him back.

"Your front door is right there," she said, "I can see it from here." And with those words, she just got up and left, leaving Charles behind in a somewhat… befuddled state. Not that it fazed him for long: he seemed to have no trouble at all going back to his toast and eggs, holding up his cup to ask Sherlock for more coffee. 

“After this, it’s every man for himself, I would also like to eat,” Sherlock said calmly as he poured out the last of the coffee to whomever came first. 

“Yeah, you should be hungry enough,” Mike teased, wiggling his eyebrows as he quickly shoved a whole pancake in his mouth before handing the plate with what started as a stack - and was now just a pile - to Geralt. Sy and Charles laughed, and there was a hint of a smile on Ange’s face as well, but Mike must have been glad neither Dani, nor Marshall and Geralt could reach him. 

“Speaking of,” Elena bravely interjected, “what the hell were you two doing last night?”

“I don’t remember,” Dani muttered with a red face and a mouth full of pancake. 

“We were making out on my bed,” Mike said, clearly missing the slight but distinct edge of embarrassment in Dani’s voice, “and suddenly we were accidentally making out next to my bed… It was pretty funny.�� His tone was so casual that even Dani couldn’t help but laugh as he talked. 

The result of breakfast for eleven people was an ungodly heap of dishes that needed washing, and although the house did have a dishwasher, that hadn’t even been stacked with the other ungodly heap of dirty dishes - namely the ones from the party the night before. Mike, August and Sherlock immediately washed their hands of the task. After all, they’d already cooked everyone breakfast, which left Geralt, Sy and Charles grunting by the sink. Geralt’s appeal to check on Sol was denied by the other two, and he got put on dishwasher duty. The only person who was absolved of any involvement with breakfast: Marshall.

Anjelica pulled up a chair in front of him and sat down, with Dani and Elena flanking him - possibly so he wouldn’t run away, but what were they going to do if he decided to leave after all? Mike, August and Sherlock looked at each other. He wouldn’t talk, would he? Maybe if Ange asked him nicely? 

“Marshall, what the fuck happened last night?” So much for ‘asking nicely’... The boys, however, had to watch in awe as Marshall covered his mangled face with his hands, and when he started talking, his voice sounded strangled and broken. 

“What’s there to tell? I think everything is pretty self-evident,” he groaned.

“If I had to guess,” Dani said, “you slept with your best friend’s sister, regretted it, hoped he’d never find out, but he did because she told him after she saw you sneak off with whoever the fuck that was, and then he very nearly punched your lights out.”

“Off by a few,” Marshall groaned again.

“He didn’t regret it, he’s in love with her.” Elena almost sighed her romantic realization.

“And I ruined everything by trying to get over her. That’s it. That’s the whole story.” He pulled his hands away from his face, leaving the guys speechless. He was crying. “Happy now? I fucked it all up. For good.”

“Marshall, do you remember what I told Mike the day I made him send that text to Dani to ask her out?” Anjelica said to Marshall - before turning to Dani briefly: “You’re welcome, by the way.”

“I distinctly remember ‘God, men are stupid, you all know jack shit about women’,” Sherlock helpfully provided. 

“Exactly,” Ange confirmed. “That definitely still applies.”

“Hey, is anyone else coming on the ski trip?” Mike asked after the girls had decided to cease their interrogation of Marshall. “Not enough people signed up, they’re cool with non-freshmen tagging along.”

“I ain’t got the grades,” Sy said - Charles had the same reason for staying put. August offhandedly mentioned that he’d been thinking about it - to which Ange responded that she had already signed him up. ‘Just in case.’ She, of course, played a major part in organizing the whole thing. 

Dani looked up in surprise when Anjelica mentioned that her name had also been on the list. 

“I’d have to ask my parents for the money,” she warned Mike, who just shrugged. 

“My mom paid,” he said plainly, “worst case scenario I call my dad and ask for the money. He’ll pay up.” 

Anjelica and Dani both looked at him in shock when he said it, but Elena was the only one brave enough to say something: “Mike, that’s incredibly dishonest.” Understatement. 

“Listen,” Mike snapped, startling all the girls - and the guys, too, even though they probably wouldn’t want to admit it, “I had to repeat my junior year because I got caught in the middle of their horrible divorce. They were literally fighting all day, every day about fucking everything.”

"No,” he said, “Give me a minute.” He took a deep breath and continued: “I move in with mom, because dad moves away to God knows where, I barely talk to him for a year, and I make it through my second junior year just fine. Then, during my senior year, my mom gets a new coworker who she really gets along with. The coworker is always talking about her husband and her kids, things are fun. She’s been together with him for five years, she says, but they’ve only been married for one, yada yada. One night me and mom are invited over for dinner, get to her place, only to come face to face with her husband, who just so happened to be my fucking dad, okay? Sent my mom into hysterics. I got caught in the middle of that hot mess - and didn't graduate that year, either. So forgive me if I’m not overly worried about lying. Between my dad’s new family and my mom’s fucking midlife crisis, the only thing I ever get from either of them nowadays is money.”

Sy, who had been listening while finishing up the dishes with the others, turned around with a puzzled look on his face. “Come again?” 

“Alright, TLDR: My dad married his side piece after divorcing mom. Side piece became mom’s work friend without knowing who she was, and then she turned out to be the woman my dad had been cheating on mom with for years, got it?” Mike clarified with a grin on his face. The girls looked at each other in awe. Even Marshall - whose face was barely in any kind of state to portray any kind of emotion other than agony - looked completely stumped. 

“I’m sorry, Mike,” Elena said, “I shouldn’t have said anything.”

“You couldn’t have known,” Mike said in a small voice. Dani wrapped her arms around his neck and planted a kiss on his cheek. 

“The trip sounds fun.” Elena turned to Sherlock, who looked at her.

“It does,” he agreed, “and you were probably invited to go.”

“My study advisor did mention I could take a spot, yes,” she said coyly, waiting for him to catch on. Of course, he had caught on. He had caught on immediately! Now, all he wanted was for her to stop playing these infernal games! “Oh, for God’s sake, Sherlock, would you come along, too?”

“I signed up a week and a half ago.” For a brief moment, Elena looked like she wanted to slap the smirk off his face. And who could blame her?

“I think I might go, too,” Marshall suddenly said, surprising everyone. The guys - and Ange - knew he loved snowboarding, but they wouldn’t have thought he’d be in the mood to tag along. The man could brood for a while. 

“You should!” Anjelica said immediately - maybe a tad too quickly, and too enthusiastically.

Short stories, novels, or poems?

I find I end up with novelette/novella-length stories more often than not. I've written plenty of one-shots and short stories for prompt events, and I like doing that especially when I'm doing fanfiction or nameless characters. When I write with ocs though I tend to stretch stuff out and what had originally started as a one-shot or short story ends up becoming a novella.

Don't get me wrong I have plenty of WIPs planned out to be novels (like Trials of the Six), but the first drafts of The Hunter, the Myth and the Cure and The Legend of Orian Goldeneye were both novella-length and will probably stay that way or end up being longer. My Hero x Villain series ended up being a novelette, so basically I can't plan for how long a story's gonna be lol.

I've written a little bit of poetry (heck, I wrote one for The Legend of Orian Goldeneye that may or may not get cut), but it's not my favorite thing to write because I way overthink things. But when I do compose poetry I usually do limericks.

What genre do you prefer reading?

Fantasy, no contest. And within fantasy, usually High Fantasy with a lightcore or hopecore focus. I read some gritty stuff, but I find they tend to have elements I don't really like more than the ones I do.

Are you a planner or a write as I go kind of person?

Both? I like having an idea of where the story's gonna go, and I plan that out either before writing or while writing, so I don't get stuck. But it's really loose and gives plenty of room for the characters to go feral. I'm in the middle, but I lean more panster than plotter.

What music do you listen to while writing?

Soundtracks, usually from videogames or movies. I really should start organizing my two writing playlists by vibes other than calming music and boss fight-type, but I'm pretty happy with how I have it now. I also have some seasonal aesthetic playlists which match the vibe of the current weather.

Favorite books/movies?

Oh goodness.

Uhhhh. UHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

My knee-jerk answer for favorite movie is and always will be The Princess Bride. But I also really like Back to the Future, The Martian, and Clue.

With books I tend to separate them into categories. For fantasy I would say it's a tie between Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, The Death Gate Cycle: Hand of Chaos by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson, and Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynn Jones.

For sci-fi it's The Martian by Andy Weir, followed closely by Skyward by Brandon Sanderson.

My favorite classic is Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, followed by Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin.

And for nonfiction I like Stuck by Justina Van Manen, The Healing Imperative by Mike Aquilina, and Beautiful Holiness by Kathleen Beckman.

And of course the Holy Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Any current WIPs?

Create a character description of yourself:

Quiet, and keeps to herself. Never without a book, never without a rosary. Her brown hair is long, reaching nearly past her waist, and often kept up in a ponytail or a braid. She dresses mostly in dark colors, black jeans or skirt and a shirt or blouse that is black, navy, or gray, but occasionally wears a bright shirt. She wears little to no makeup unless she feels like being extra fancy. She always has a ring on her right hand, and usually a bracelet that matches her outfit, both of which she fiddles with. Her friends are few but she loves them dearly, and they are often on her mind. Though she may be quiet most of the time, she never hesitates to speak up for what she believes in.

Do you like incorporating actual people you know into your writing?

Eh... not really. I know my own thoughts and experiences much better than those around me and I wouldn't wish a lot of the stuff I do to my characters on the people I know so it just feels kinda weird to me.

Are you kill happy with your characters?

I find I like to bring my characters to the brink of death and back again rather than just killing them unless I want to write about grief. I'm more kill happy with immortal characters for the same reason.

Coffee or Tea while writing?

Usually just water, but if I can get my favorite iced coffee drink than I'd be happy to drink that.

Slow or fast writer?

It varies depending on the amount of research I have to do in a scene, but I think I write pretty fast. I haven't measured my words-per-minute in a while but it was pretty good if I recall correctly.

If you were in a fantasy world, what would you be?

I'd love to be a guide of some kind, part of the group enough that I won't get killed off. I'm pretty good with navigation and maps, and I'd like to have powers (minor ones, not overpowered) but that would depend on the fantasy world.

Most fav book cliche:

Scoundrel with a heart of gold. I eat that up like a starving woman. Han Solo, Mat Cauthon, Ifan Ben-Medz, etc. Draven Cozenson, Diana Ozborne and Korfel Domin are two oc examples.

Least favorite cliche:

Love triangles. Frustrates me to no end, especially how most of them are resolved and how they really only seem to drive wedges in the fandoms (Keeper of the Lost Cities fandom, I'm looking at you.) I have no love triangles in my stories and I never will. I have minimal romance anyway but in the two I got there is no competition.

Favorite scene to write?

*evil grin* Love writing the whump or hurt/comfort scenes, all my ocs get whumped in some form or another, and I have fun every single time.

Reason for writing?

Creative expression, love for my ocs, with a dash of "I maked these :D"

In all seriousness, it's a hobby that I love. It sparks joy and it's a craft that I continuously improve upon and the more I write the better I get at writing. I also occasionally fantasize about publishing one day and my books having fandoms of their own. Maybe that will happen someday.

✨ The Winx Tarot ✨

I am currently designing a Rider-Waite tarot inspired by all the Winx club seasons (including S8 which I need to finish). I got the idea of making this tarot while rewatching S2 because the codex is in four parts, each associated with a keeper and a school/village, which fit perfectly with the four tarot suits

The Winx Tarot is made up of the 78 traditional cards and probably some additional ones knowing myself (edit: I was right, we have additional ones), I also plan on making a booklet, a box pattern and a tarot cloth (my goal is to be able to print my tarot and actually use it)

More leaks! woohoo!

This leak has an actual big SPOILER for the plot of season nine, so if you want to be surprised, read no further!

What is going on at Rainbow? Are their employees a bunch of shady and suspicious characters, that they keep leaking stuff? It’s nice for US since we have lots of exciting things to talk about, but I hope it’s not too bad for RAINBOW!

This leak included a bunch of videos including transformation sequences for all the girls at various levels of completion. They’re great! Each girl has a unique sequence about their unique power! Stella’s transformation shows the sun and moon, so Rainbow’s remembered her moon powers. Very cool! I’m not going to show them here, in fact I’m only going to show a few of the leaked images, the ones I have something to say about. Check the Winx Club subreddit for the whole thing.

Villains! That dude in the different art style really is from Winx and he’s still in the different art style. He’s Damian IIRC and I guess he’s buddies with this Grindlewald-lookin’ wizard named Vexius. Non-Trix baddies! NEW baddies! Love it!

The Trix are still here though, hooray! Icy is lookin’ great. And if we have other baddies AND the Trix, will the Trix work with the new baddies like they have with all previous baddies, or will the Trix be a third faction? I really want to see Rainbow add some nuance to our favorite mean girls with Icy’s new backstory… I’m pretty sure Rainbow won’t do this, nuance isn’t really their jam ^^; but I live in hope lol

The boys are also back. I’m glad Sky doesn’t look like Tyler from Mermaid Magic, and Riven is ridiculously bad-boy. I love that Riven has the British flag still, from his season 1 shirt to a patch on his pants. The boys have new armor and it’s… a lot. Very mecha, it looks less comfortable than all the previous incarnations of the specialists’ armor. It looks like they should be piloting an X-wing or something. I don’t love the look but maybe it’ll grow on me. The interesting thing in this third picture is the group in the bottom corner. There’s Riven, Sky, Brandon, Timmy, Bloom for size, and..? Who? Another specialist? A girl specialist? Bloom in Specialist armor? It looks to me like Celia from Mermaid Magic in Specialist armor, but the resolution’s too low to really tell. But does this mean we’ll have girl Specialists and boy fairies?

Here we have Faragonda and Griffin. I'm sad about Faragonda's color change, she's just been lavender for so long! And Griffin's hair no longer looks like half a breakfast pastry so that's a bit of a shame. but their looks are secondary to their cute friendship, which I hope season 9 keeps.

And here comes the big spoiler…

Dark Bloom! We’re getting Dark Bloom in season 9! She has a leather jacket because that’s what delinquents wear! And platform boots apparently. So Dark Bloom won’t just be an alternate fairy form, she’ll also gob dark in civilian life. And I really love her dark fairy look, all that indigo is just the best.

Also, hair streak of delinquency! Just like Shadybug!

Other arts I’m not going to post included concept art of Mike and Vanessa and baby Bloom but not Marion, Oritel or Daphne, and several minor witches but not Mirta or Lucy. So the presence or absence of our favorite B-list cast members is still up in the air and could go either way. It's all so exciting!
