i'm looking for a drarry fic i read on ao3 a few years back. it was at least 20 chapters, maybe even around 50, and each chapter was also pretty lengthy. it was definitely slow burn. just the two of them were stuck in a forest (i can't remember why) and the majority of the fic was them wandering through the forest. there's a lot of sexual tension, and recurring bondage jokes.

here's a few lines i remember:

draco: "i didn't peg you for a screamer" harry: "you haven't pegged me yet"

draco: "beautiful my arse"

the fic takes place after the war and i'm pretty sure it follows canon events pretty closely as far as draco and harry's relationship during hogwarts time (like harry did use sectumsempra, and all of the deaths from the war did actually happen). pretty sure harry has become an auror. both of them are single, draco knows he's gay, and harry (i think) know's he's bi.

As someone who looks toward the evolutionary edge, I have to say I might be a bit partial to this epoch in the history of astrology. Most ancient peoples, from the Egyptians to the Maya to Hindu civilizations, had a deep reverence for the stars and the planets, and understood that the world was alive and full of meaning. I have a deep love and respect for each epoch that brought forth a certain new facet and understanding. I see it all as part of a beautiful tapestry that keeps unfolding. I began to create astrological art because I could not find the visuals that resonated with my contemporary aesthetic and the archetypal energies that we were experiencing as a collective. As an artist and a writer, I am influenced by the astrological archetypes directly, as they live and exist as symbols within the collective unconscious. Ihey are multivalent symbols and as such, reveal aspects of our human experience that can never be fully translated into manifest form. I engage with them directly through my creative process.

✨ these comics are from a popular drarry fic called eclipse! for anyone new here, the context is that draco has a phobia for bodies of water, & with his consent, harry tries to help him overcome it. harry initiates by taking off his shoes for him when he sees draco stiffen up & it kinda tumbles into this tender moment where draco feels braver helping harry undress if harry can help him with his own clothes.

its a very sweet metaphor for the themes of the fic where draco is still a bit pathetic and slow at disavowing his parents’ views (although clearly wanting to) but, by contrast, feels braver helping harry escape voldemort. and it is through helping harry through his adversaries that slowly has draco proving to himself that he is capable and ultimately, more himself, when offering to do good. anyways!!! im smitten by this fic as you can tell.

Vintage Drarry Fics

Thought I'd put together a list of some of the old Drarry 'classics' of my teenage years, for anyone interested. All posted between 2001-2006, compiled using my (bad) memory, a lot of googling, fanlore.org and numerous different LJ rec accounts (including the incredible @capiturecs). I checked as best I could, but if anyone knows of any fics that their author doesn't want to be shared, please let me know and I will of course remove.

Please also note that these fics are of their era, when attitudes may have been different, and they may not all be grammatically perfect. I haven't reread all, as my own tastes have changed, but most importantly do note that they may not be tagged - don't blame me when, for example, Harry dies tragically on a rooftop at sunrise...

Hogwarts Era (mostly 5th-7th year)
