My favourite is when you have Lovers to Enemies then back to Lovers, but I can live without it. The examples I can think of (Buffy/Angel(us), Cole/Phoebe) all made their respective shows better. These arcs have narrative power and resonate with the audience. And when it looks like a ship mightgo this route? My interest in it is upped to eleven. Even when the show/book/etc fails to deliver frex Julian/Macy.
