Are you hiding from your thoughts? That's not healthy either. He'll sit you down in an intervention that is just himself, and maybe Deuce, and you'll have to explain to him what your reasons are for wearing them or he'll never let it go.

If he's right, and you're wearing them to run away from your thoughts…you better be prepared to lie your ass off.

Totally judging your choice of headphones. No offense, but yours are totally lame, and I bet they don't even have ultra whopper bass mode. Meanwhile his are practically 4d.

He'll tap your shoulder, then point to his ear with a smile. What he's asking is to listen to your music with you. At first it was to get inspiration for the music club, but eventually it was just because he likes listening to music with you.

One ear bud in his ear as he sits next to you on a bench, slowly leaning his head against yours, gently nudging you at key musical moments, the scent of sandalwood and incense filling your nostrils as he leans against your shoulder…

Another "whatcha listening to?"

Except the difference is he takes your headphones off and puts both in his ears. With Kalim it's a flustering moment. With Floyd you want to bop him in the nose. He'll hold them out of reach, and run away with them until he's bored.

He likes to listen to Shrimpy's music! Why are you keeping it all to yourself? That's not very nice of you. Guess he'll have to hold onto your headphones for a while bwahahahahaahahaha!

Oh. Chenya loves your headphones! 😁 For compleeeeeetley innocent reasons.

He definitely doesn't like them because he can stand directly behind you and wait and see how long it takes for you to notice a presence behind you.

If you take too long to notice his aura of chaos, and he wants to rush into the part where you jump, and swat at his invisible self, he'll blow on your neck. Yes, Chenya loves your headphones. Especially when the music is so loud that you can't hear him giggling 🤭

MICHAEL KAISER

You and Michael were both in your living room. You were busy typing an essay on your laptop while Michael was skipping through the channels and landed on a sports channel that was broadcasting a show from last week. When you looked up at the TV, you saw yourself in the middle of your performance.

Fuck.

How are you going to explain this???

"N/N??? You never told me you did ice skating." Michael says, still looking at your performance, a slight smirk on his face.

"Look— you probably have better things to be doing than watching me perform." You say, trying to explain my you never told Michael. Hearing this made his smirk grow wider.

"Me??? Nah, I wouldn't want to miss my angles, especially when she looks so elegant."

RIN ITOSHI

You and Rin were on the couching cuddling together. Rin was mindlessly flicking through sports channels while you were on your phone. While flicking through the channels, a particular one caught his eye. It was highlight of you and one of your performances from a month ago. You didn't notice until you heard your voice, making you look up at the TV cringing slightly.

"Fuck." You muttered under you breath.

"N/N, why haven't you told me about this???" Rin says, his eyes boring into yours.

"Well, I kinda just forgot to tell and was nervous cause you might think it stupid and—" You say, starting to ramble on about why you kept your hobby a secret.

"Y/N, you know I wouldn't do that." Rin says, his voice quite soft. "I'd be up in the stands anytime I get, just so I can see you, love."

SAE ITOSHI

Sae was in the living room watching TV after coming home from practice he was pretty tired, so you allowed him to rest on the couch while you made dinner for the both of you. Something you didn't know was that Sae was currently watching one of your stellar performances on the TV while you were making food, blissfully unaware of what was happening in the other room.

When you were finally done, you walked to the living to tell Sae dinner was ready, but as soon as you saw yourself on the TV, your heart sank. You've kept this a secret from him for so long how you were gonna explain this to him.

"Baby, you know you're actually quite good, better than I thought. But, why haven't you told me about this, huh???" Sae murmurs, looking at you, as stood there frozen.

"Well, ahm— I uhm—" You slurred out, trying to think of an excuse, but you were drawing a blank.

"Well, I guess that doesn't matter anymore." Sae says, smirking ever so slightly. "Next time, bring me, yeah???"

It has been about 1 second since I posted something about Sherlock Holmes Chapter One, but honestly, I have so many thoughts about the ending now that I have had 2-3 months to think about it. I need to get all of it out of my system.

I will mainly talk about how I see the ending, which ending makes the most sense to me, and why.

Under a read more, because it will get long.

!!!DISCLAIMER!!!! This is all my opinion, nobody has to agree with me!

First and foremost, everyone who has talked to me about these games knows I see "Sherlock did it" as the true ending. Everyone has their interpretation, and as my man Verner loves to say, truth is never objective 🤭 But I will still elaborate on why this ending makes the most sense to me personally.

Now, the evidence we have about Violet's death is the following:

She had suffocated/died of hypoxia

Her face was swollen and had red blotches

There was a vertical incision down her throat

She was soaked

Otto Richter was standing next to her corpse

With this evidence, we can either conclude that she drowned/was drowned by someone, or that she had an allergic reaction to something.

Drowning

Drowning does not work for me because 2/5 of the clues listed above suggest she did not drown.

1) The swollen face and the red blotches. Violet did not lie in the water long enough to swell up. As for the blotches – I do not think blotches appear when you drown. I might be mistaken, however.

2) The incision. I will get to that later when I list the two specific endings which handle the possibility of Violet drowning.

3) How exactly did it play out? I have tried to imagine it, but I always fail. How exactly did Otto save Sherlock and drown Violet simultaneously? The only natural reaction to witnessing a murder attempt by drowning is to overpower that person and move them away from the victim - and therefore away from the water. I would not think about drowning them first and then saving the victim later. Did he push her away from Sherlock and focus on saving the boy? And then what, she tripped and fell into the water? I do not remember any mentions of wounds on her head, so I do not think he knocked her out. I cannot think of a plausible way to explain how she ended up drowning if it is supposed to be an accident, but drowning her on purpose does not sound right either because he pulled her out.

She drowned by accident.

The incision does not make sense here. Otto was undoubtedly a nasty man, but he was also well-educated, as established by the torn diploma we find in the cabinet of curiosities. A doctor should know that a hole in the throat would not help someone who has already inhaled tons of water. He did not care about Violet as a person to have this cloud his judgement. Also, another side note - he was Verner's brother. Surely, high IQ is not always genetic, but to quote Holmes himself, "Art in the blood is liable to take the strangest forms." He uses this argument to explain why he and Mycroft have such high intelligence. I think it is also safe to apply this to Verner and Otto, keeping in mind that Verner is both an artist and highly intelligent. What I am saying is that I do not think Otto was ignorant/stupid enough to make an incision in the throat of a drowned woman, which cannot accomplish anything other than making him look suspicious.

Aside from the direct evidence, Mycroft would not have framed Otto. Yes, Otto was responsible for Violet's deteriorating mental health, but he also saved Sherlock from Violet. In this ending, she dies because Otto is too focused on saving Sherlock to pull her out of the water on time. I think that is at least heavily implied. I would like to believe Mycroft is not the kind of person who would frame a man for murder after that man has just saved the life of the most important person in Mycroft's life. Maybe it is wishful thinking, but I like to believe that Mycroft is a much better man than Sherlock believes.

Otto wanted to kill Violet.

We can also argue that he wanted her dead. In this case, the incision makes even less sense. What was it supposed to accomplish? Finish her off in case she survived the drowning? Why would he pull her out of the water at all, then? If he left her in the pond, she would have sooner or later died without any chance of survival. Otto might have gotten away with it, too, if he claimed she fell and he could not save her because he was focused on Sherlock. Cutting her throat open only makes sense if he wants to make sure that he will be accused of her murder.

Even without the incision, let's forget about it and pretend it did not exist. Why would he want to kill her? He had no motive. He also had other ways of killing her - by making her overdose, for example. How would anyone prove that was not an accident?

Again, aside from the direct evidence, other things suggest that Otto did not kill Violent on purpose. These arguments are not as strong as the ones above, but I want to list them nevertheless.

1) it is implied that Mycroft bribed a judge to have Otto imprisoned. Mycroft is smart enough to have found enough evidence against Otto without the bribery unless all evidence points towards an accident or something else.

2) Sherlock asks Verner if he blamed him for Otto's fate. Why would he consider this at all if Otto had killed Violet on purpose? I know what Mycroft said - Otto claimed killing her was necessary to save Sherlock. However, we know it was not, and we know Verner is smart enough not to believe in such BS.

3) Mycroft hid the truth for 10+ years. Why would he lie to Sherlock about it and go as far as to let police documents disappear to conceal the murder? He explains this, but his explanation is spongy at best. Sherlock's reaction to the reveal is mild; they even start working together for the government afterwards. It makes Mycroft's secrecy seem irrational; the truth barely impacts anything (other than Jon, but that's another topic).

I can summarise that drowning is the less believable option. If I had to choose one of the two outcomes related to drowning, though, I would go with "Violet drowned on accident".

Allergic reaction

That is the correct conclusion to me.

It fits all the evidence. Violet's swollen face and the blotches sound like the effects of an allergic reaction. A tracheostomy can explain the vertical cut in her throat.

If she had an allergic reaction to the meds while attempting to drown Sherlock, she likely lost balance and fell into the water while struggling for air, which would explain why she was soaked. This alone makes more sense than her falling into the water for no reason and drowning by accident. Otto saw everything, pulled Sherlock out of the water, and possibly reanimated him, all while Violet was suffocating. Once Sherlock started breathing again, Otto checked on Violet and saw she could not breathe, but she died before the tracheostomy could help her.

From Mycroft's perspective, it does not matter if Sherlock or Jon came up with the idea to put meds in her tea - the outcome would be equally devastating to his brother. Yes, I can see him framing Otto for Sherlock's sake; I believe he would have done so even if Otto had been a perfect doctor and never committed malpractice. It makes sense why Mycroft would hide the truth for years and let police documents disappear. It explains why he is so worried about Sherlock, that he travels to Cordona to check on him (and possibly intervene if Sherlock decides to turn himself in).

This conclusion also explains better why Mycroft was unsettled by the length of Violet's funeral and wanted to leave Cordona with Sherlock as fast as possible. He wanted to get his brother out of there - immediately. Otto was in jail, but his mouth was not sealed shut - as a doctor, he knew Violet had an allergic reaction, and he could have put one and one together and shifted everyone's attention towards Sherry. Of course, this part is pure speculation, but it makes sense.

Lastly, the argument that Violet has developed a resistance against the potassium bromide (PB) is relatively weak. We know she was already taking the highest dose possible; yes, she did not seem to have issues with the drug. However, the bottle explicitly says, "not to be administered more than once in 24 hours." Sherlock was never let inside the room when Otto was there with Violet - Otto could have already given her her daily dose of PB before Sherlock decided to give her one as well. Otto also experimented with other drugs, which could have interacted with the PB. In the end, I believe it was a combination of both - she had taken the mushroom extract and twice the allowed dose of PB on that day - her body reacted and she suffocated.

Jon is responsible

It is possible that Jon came up with the idea to put meds into Violet's tea. In the cut scene, we see him call Sherry over to the table where the PB is. However, it is still Sherlock who takes the bottle and narrates how "this could help calm her down ". Jon is not corporeal - even if we accept that the idea was his, it was still Sherlock who put the medicine into the tea.

Why would Sherlock - brilliant, cunning Sherlock, who loves chemistry - assume Jon was much more informed about the possible risks of taking PB than himself? Why would he assume any evil intent? Why would he decide to see Jon as a moustache-twirling villain who has manipulated him into killing his own mother?

Well, because in this ending, Sherlock is absolutely delusional. He rejects reality and blames his imaginary friend instead. We know Jon is not responsible. We know Jon does not represent Sherlock's darkest impulses but Sherlock's will to live and be happy.

The ending works if you interpret Sherlock's character as someone, who would blame Jon unjustly. I have no real arguments against this ending other than that I do not see him this way. Also, the foundation of this ending is Sherlock misinterpreting Jon's whole character, and I am not too fond of stories based on misinformation or misinterpretation. It is just too grim for my taste, also in regards to Sherlock's mental health because you know it will come crashing down on him one day. You cannot just kill the part of yourself that represents all your joy and self-love and not come to regret it bitterly.

Sherlock is responsible

I have said so much already to "discredit" the other endings; what remains is naturally my personal truth.

The allergic reaction makes much more sense than the drowning, and among the two possible outcomes following that conclusion, Sherlock blaming himself is the more logical.

It is the ending Mycroft hates the most. It explains his effort to bury the truth with all his might - he knows Sherlock well enough to know he will turn himself in.

It also fits Sherlock's character better (in my opinion). He is an abuse victim who never once acknowledges his abuse and his victimhood. He never utters a single word of criticism towards Violet for everything she put him through. Whenever he talks about her, he always focuses on her suffering and never on his own. Yes, she had a mental illness, but she was still an abuser. He shows endless empathy towards her and none towards himself - not even towards his 10-year-old self.

I think deep inside, Sherlock is pretty aware that he is not really at fault. He knows he had no ill intentions. I guess blaming himself and getting arrested is his way of coping with the truth that his mother was psychotic and tried to murder him. It turns the pain into something he can deal with in a way that's familiar to him - it's just another case he has solved, just another murderer he has brought to justice. Taking responsibility for something he hasn't done still comes from a position of power; however, admitting that he was powerless all along and that he would be dead if she had not died first, is more than he can handle.

" so in tenth place, and as terrible as this is, i put JISU but only because he has that baby face, and i'm not really attracted to people like that, " cheska quickly explains before anyone can even open their mouths. tomie is quick to disagree, " but eonnie, he's the cutest like that tho! "

" i'm just gonna call out other people's names, and then i'll explain why i find the top three most attractive. HYUNSU, DIAZ, JACE, HARIN, FABIAN, SILAS, KAZ, ELI and KENJI in that exact order, from lowest to highest. i just love their japanese members and want to get to know them better! " before the next member can go, cheska is quick to mutter, " ELI looks very familiar to me though, " loud enough for everyone to hear.

" oh! " the other members quickly exclaim, and aimee's quick to cover jeanne's eyes, cheska doing the same with viva but more teasingly-like. " this is not for kids' eyes! " the second oldest yells, listening to viva's giggles as she tries to get cheska's hands off of her.

" as for other members, " she starts again after composing herself, but there's still some redness in her cheeks, " i guess from fourth to tenth, it would be KENJI, SILAS, HYUNSU, FABIAN, HARIN, DIAZ and KAZ. i personally know FABIAN, and his brother, so i wouldn't really sleep with him, but he is very attractive! "

jeanne ponders over the question while others talk, and is quick to open a note app on her phone and type something. after she gets her turn to speak, she lifts the device, " i wrote down the list, from most to least attractive VARSITY members, " she says it so seriously that others can't help but laugh.

" number one i picked HARIN, because i saw the group perform once, and he caught my eye. the list goes like this: HYUNSU in second place, SILAS is third, DIAZ fourth, then ELI fifth, KENJI sixth, KAZ seventh, JISU eight, JACE ninth and FABIAN is tenth. but i still think the lowest-ranked members are really attractive, " she assures everyone and closes the note app, putting the phone back in her pocket.

the others wait in case she has something else to add, but jeanne just stares blankly at the camera.

" anyway, best for last, " aimee flairs her hands around, flipping her hair.

" in first place, definitely KAZ! there's something about him that i like, i don't know how to explain it, though, " she begins, but quickly brushes off her 'explanation', " after him, i'd say i think ELI is for sure in second place, i mean, have you seen his face? " she mocks, playfully exaggerating the question.

" after him, hmm... " she begins to trail off but quickly snaps her fingers, " i'm thinking KENJI would fit in third place, followed by FABIAN. now, i'm kind of divided between SILAS and HYUNSU for the fifth place, so i'm gonna keep them both there, " aimee tilts her head, trying to remember the mental list she made. " JISU is sixth, HARIN seventh, DIAZ eighth and JACE ninth, no offence, " she quickly adds, but doesn't mention whom she's saying that last part.

" quick disclaimer: this doesn't mean the lowest ranked people are ugly, we love you all and would definitely be up for meeting each other, " cheska informs, sending a sneaky finger heart followed by a wink from tomie and a kissy face from aimee. viva politely nods, while jeanne continues staring blankly but slightly moves around in restlessness.

Like let's put all this together. Mankai Playback 2018. First, we have the quote from Tenma which is roughly:

"I'm always the one getting teased, but... I've a lot of great experiences a lot in this theater company. I will never forget my firsts... not the second times either, of course."

Which in a3en was simply:

"I won't forget the firsts I've had here or the second times for all these experiences."

So what I see is that the "first and second" times is the important part of the entire quote. Then that's even furthered by his card's backstage story title, "First Day, First Meeting", wherein he remembers the first time he met Taichi.

THAT'S a whole can of worms on its own but staying on topic, it's first and second, and since this is about his first meeting with Taichi, we can conclude he is saying that he won't forget the second time he met him either, at Mankai. ("You're tellin' me she's a BRO?!" it's like electricity fr lmao) If not for their second meeting, Tenma wouldn't have realized the boy that day was Taichi, and he's swearing he won't forget either time.... fellas is it --

Tenma doesn't have a lot of experience actually living life when he joins Mankai, so he's a character that is often centered around his curiosity and his first experiences that we would otherwise take to granted. For example, Kazunari is his first friend. But Taichi dominates nearly all of Tenma's firsts because as grade-mates they end up spending a lot of time together, especially after Juza's graduation!

Another notable first of Tenma's is in the Midsummer Sparkle Memory event from 2017. I've already made a silly post about this but to sum it up, on their way home before a summer festival, Tenma's very first, they exchange their experiences and Taichi explains that he went to his first summer festival with his first love. When he mentions this, Tenma chuckles quietly. In a3en, Tenma encourages him to go on saying, "Yeah?" but I prefer jp since it seems more like what Taichi said has prompted him to muse on his own situation. (Going to his first summer festival with his first love.)

Also, at the end of the event they're all setting off fireworks together and Taichi makes the shape of a heart with his sparklers which he tries to show to Tenma but Tenma is too frightened of them 🤭🤭 Then Tenma swears to get revenge on Taichi. He tries to sneak attack him with the remaining firework, but can't figure out how to light it and summer troupe basically sells him out to Taichi, who uses an extra firework to attack Tenma AND AS HE SHOULD!!! Anyway I got carried away, the point is, this is Tenma's quote for his Midsummer card:

JP: "You’re going to make fun of me, calling this “another one for the firsts series" and stuff, aren’t you!? I catch on quick, you know. Next summer… just you wait."

EN: "You'd better not be thinking of making fun of me! Just wait... I'll show you next year..."

This is also the event where Taichi calls Tenma an "ultra scorchin' hottie"..... so there is that.

I've lost my point.... AH, moving on from the festival, the association of Taichi and Tenma's firsts is especially hammered in during their last year of high school where Taichi vows to help Tenma have the high school only experiences he almost missed before they graduate. So Taichi leads him in his first ditching of class, his first sitting on the school roof, his first eating lunch in class, ordering pizza to the school LMAO, and importantly his first and only high school graduation that he didn't think he would be able to have.

And so for my conclusion..... I think we as taiten fans need to appreciate that if this is any indication of their relationship... with Taichi actually being the one who teaches Tenma in this avenue despite what you might think, Taichi is most likely Tenma's first love, too. And Tenma swears he won't forget :)

He didn’t know how he could even begin to explain exactly how much he adored Olli’s company and cherished every single moment they were together no matter what they were up to, so he snapped his mouth shut and hoped Olli knew anyway, at least in some sense. Maybe one day, in (hopefully) far future, when the band would no longer exist and they’d all be gone separate ways, he’d find the courage to write Olli an overly formal email or leave a drunken, incoherent voicemail on his phone where he’d spill all about the truthful nature of his feelings towards him, but until then, Aleksi had little to no other choice but to swallow all those words he really wanted to say to Olli. Such as you’re in my mind constantly and I’m going insane with how much I need you here and how much I want you.  Or I can’t remember the last time I woke up in the morning and my heart didn’t break a little when I realised I’m not on tour and you’re not next to me. I dream of you. I dream of us. I dream of running away with you, of leaving everything (except Rilla) behind me, even though I know that’s not how you would do things. But I can’t help it, because every time you pull me into a hug, you pull me into an alternate reality in which I won’t have to let go of you when Tommi honks his car horn and it’s time for you to go back home. A reality in which you’re mine to keep. 

(I realise that from this snippet one might get the idea Olli & Tommi are an item but no, that's not the case, Tommi's just his driver 🤭)

Unrecognisable Part 7

Sweep by sweep, I could feel my hair falling. Though the room was quite, the sound of the electric razor was deafening. I know it wasn’t on for long, but it felt like forever. When it finally ceased, my hair follicles still reverberated. I still didn’t dare look. As long as I kept my eyes closed, the memory of my hair remained intact.

I jumped the first time Jake’s fingers ran through what was left of my hair. His touch gave me goosebumps all over. As he applied the black dye to my hair, I started to relax. After the devastation of the razor, it was soothing. He cursed to himself as dye ran a bit more than he was expecting and he rushed to get to it with a paper towel before too much got onto my clothes.

“I should’ve made you strip,” he mumbled.

“I definitely would not have,” I shook my head.

“It would’ve been easier,” he insisted.

“And I still would not,” I reiterated.

“Why not? It’s just skin. It’s nothing that I haven't seen before,” he said without thinking. “Of women in general! I didn't mean you specifically.”

I opened my eyes to get a good look at him. I couldn’t tell if that slip was intentional or not. He looked a bit embarrassed so I had to assume he didn’t intend it. Nevertheless, my mind drifted back to those videos. It was so unbelievable that I started to wonder if my mind was playing tricks on me. My boyfriend and I had been together for the better part of a year. How did I not know he had been recording our most intimate moments? Was I seriously that naive? First Jake, then my boyfriend. I felt like next I was going to find out I am actually the illegitimate child of some obscure royal family. I wished I could just pick up my phone and demand some answers out of my boyfriend. I didn’t know if there could ever be a plausible explanation, but I needed something to make sense for a change. What a time it was to be on the run. Nothing was ever simple in my life.

“Ok, you’re done. Can you please lower your head under the faucet?” Jake broke my train of thought, pulling me back into the present.

He turned on the sink to get it to a decent temperature before I leant over it. I let the water run over my head for a while first and I was going to rinse it myself, but Jake beat me to it. He spent a long time massaging my scalp, far longer than what seemed necessary. I pulled away after it became clear to me it was sufficiently rinsed. As soon as I did, I saw my new hair in the mirror. Pitch black, very shortly cropped, but not buzz cut – he hadn’t taken it all, but it was certainly different than it was before. Jake reached into his bag of tricks again and pulled out an old baseball cap to put it over my head. I had to say, I hardly recognised the person in the mirror. Sacrificing my hair had better been worth it.

“Say something,” Jake was watching me uncomfortably. It was clear he felt very guilty about what he did.

“I don’t know, I think I am in shock,” I sighed. “Everything feels strange, like this is just one long nightmare.”

I glanced down and saw all of my locks of hair forming a circle around me. Even then I was still in disbelief.

“I am sorry to have made your life so miserable,” Jake said with a layer of annoyance.

“I don't blame you,” I insisted. “I know you're just trying to keep us safe.”

“I'm trying to get you home. I have a contact that can set you up with a new ID. Then we can get you across the border. From there, you can travel back to your country,” he explained. “Maybe once this blows over, you might even get to go back to your family and friends.”

“What about you?” I questioned.

“What about me?” he looked at me confused.

I turned to look at him directly. “What do you plan to do?”

“Do what I always do. Find a quiet, secluded location and lay low,” he said nonchalantly.

“That's pretty lonely,” I commented.

“I'll be fine,” he brushed it off.

“Don't lie,” I frowned. “That's not a way to live.”

“It’s done me all right so far,” he insisted.

I looked into deeply into his eyes. I could tell he didn't fully believe that, but he didn't waiver from his stance. However, the more I stared into his eyes, the more I was drawn to them. They looked sad, regretful even, with a touch of longing. I saw him, I saw the old Jake in his eyes and I didn’t want to him to disappear again. Before I knew it, I was drifting closer to him. He closed the gap, letting our lips lightly touch. It was too tantalising for me, so I kissed him with more emphasis. He pulled the cap off of my head to get it out of the way so he could grab my neck and deepen the kiss. By then we had disconnected from the rest of the world - we were just two lost souls that had finally reconnected. At some point Jake had pushed me up against the wall beside the hand dryer. If I hadn’t pushed him away, there’s no saying what might have happened in that bathroom.

“Um, that was unexpected,” I blushed.

“But it was nice,” he smiled. He leant to kiss me again, but I stopped him. “What’s wrong? Is it the location? We can take this elsewhere.”

“No,” I shook my head. “Well, ok, this is the last place I would want to be doing this, but… I shouldn’t be doing this. I’m sorry.”

“Sorry?” he said with a disappointed tone. “Don't tell me you're feeling guilty about him? The jackass that has no regard for your integrity?”

“He's still my boyfriend!” I argued. “Technically.”

“Still?” he scoffed. “I hardly think he has a right to be!”

“I have to give him a chance to redeem himself!” I insisted. “Everyone deserves a second chance to do better. I owe him that much.”

“You don’t owe him anything!” he continued. “He violated your privacy! That’s something I would never do to you!”

“Trying to, what, show off? Two seconds ago you were saying that you were going to send me on my way and you were going to disappear. Again!” I pointed out.

“I thought that’s what you wanted! To go home! You think I don’t want to keep you down in this world with me!?” he said painfully. “When you were far away in your country, it was manageable. With you here now…”

“Jake…” I didn’t know how to respond to him.

“No, you should go back home, as planned. It’s where you belong,” he decided. “You should be waking up in your warm bed, having a decent breakfast, working an earnest job, going home to have dinner with your… boyfriend… so he can fuck you to sleep.”

“Seriously?” I glared at him.

“It’s not my fault that he bores you so much that you have to fake it all the time.” Yup, the prick was back.

“I know what you’re doing,” I frowned.

“If it was me, I’d never let that pass,” he ignored me. “No faking on my watch.”

“Are you done?” I raised my eyebrow at him.

“I don't know, is it working?” he asked apprehensively.

I rolled my eyes, “No, it’s not.”

“Then I need to try harder,” he smirked.

“Ok, you do that, but you know, we should go. The attendant will get curious as to why we're taking so long,” I changed the subject.

“Not really, I told her you have morning sickness. She’s giving us all the time in the world,” he said casually. “But we should clean up.”

“We should,” I nodded slowly glancing around the floor again.

Jake went and grabbed the broom and dust pan from outside and immediately started sweeping it up. While he continued, I cleaned up the hair dye from around the sink. We worked in silence, each consumed in our thoughts. That kiss wasn't just a kiss. It was addictive and intoxicating. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to do it again. But everything was so complicated.

“Hmm, it's starting to grow on me,” Jake said suddenly.

I glanced in the mirror again and eyed the stranger in my skin. She seemed so much more confident than I, so much more hardened than I, so much more in control than I. I felt like I had been given a role to play and it was time for me to step up, but I didn't know my lines.

“Are you ready?” Jake asked.

“Yeah, let's go,” I said as I put the cap back on and slung the backpack over my shoulder again.

I waited for Jake to return the bathroom key before we started walking down the street again. The night sky was lightening over the city, which made me realise just how late,  or early rather, it was. Exhaustion hit me immediately.

I yawned, “Jake...”

“We’re almost there ok? Just a few more blocks,” he assured me.

“Please tell me there will be a bed for me,” I rubbed my eyes.

“Aww, is whittle MC tired?” he teased.

“Shut up! I'm not a machine like you,” I gave him a small shove.

“We can’t all be perfect,” he joked.

“Ugh! That was so bad it makes me want to vomit!” I winced. “Can’t you go back to that other Jake?”

“The one that hurts every time he looks at you? Unlikely,” he mumbled.

I stopped walking, but he kept going so I reached out and grabbed his arm. “Oh, come on, Jake. You left me remember? Why do you have to keep acting like its my fault?”

He sighed, “I left because I needed air. With everything with Hannah… it was just too much. I realise the timing was very...”

“Inappropriate?” I ended his sentence for him.

“To put it mildly. And we were so entangled that I couldn’t think straight. By the time I got a handle on everything again, you had moved on,” he explained.

“Jake, that was like, what, four months later? Let’s not forget you deleted everything,” I frowned.

“It’s what I do when I panic. I hit the kill switch and get rid of all traces of me,” he admitted. “When you’ve been on the run as long as I have, paranoia becomes a part of you and sometimes is your only ally.”

“You could’ve reached out,” I shook my head.

“No, it was for the better. You were in your world and I was in mine,” he shifted his weight uncomfortably. “Our worlds don’t mix.”

“Didn’t mix, you mean. It seems fairly mixed now,” I mused.

“No, you were pulled out of yours and into mine. There is a difference. You don’t belong here and I need to send you back.”

“Then what was that before? It sure as hell seems like you don’t believe that,” I pointed out.

“What I selfishly want and what you need are on opposite sides of the war,” he said defeated.

“By your definition!” I grabbed his hoodie and pulled him closer. “You can't decide what I need without consulting me.”

“You said so yourself earlier, that this has been a nightmare. For me this is everyday,” he argued. “And it’s not like you can even make up your mind.”

“Oh come on, that’s not fair. You only just came back into my life less than a day ago and all of this has been a trial by fire,” I lowered my head. “I need time to...:”

“Yeah, I get it,” Jake pulled away. “Come on, let’s find a place for tonight for us to rest.”

I watched him walk off for a bit before following. With the lack of sleep, lingering jetlag and absolute chaos, I couldn’t think straight anymore. One voice kept telling me I had a boyfriend I still needed to work out things with. After all, how could I throw out all of our time together over one misdemeanour? Just because Jake reappeared? That wasn’t right and obligations and all that.

But then there was Jake. The more time I spent with him, the more old emotions were brought back. There was an undeniable dark cloud that followed him as he walked away. How much was he keeping from me? I swore I heard Dan yelling at me, begging me to stay away from Jake.

He just wanted a huge family pack and is also terrible with birth control and very fertile. He does however find the parenting life hacks incredibly helpful because fuck does he need them. If Tiktok can give him an activity that will keep all his pups occupied for an afternoon, then he's down for that.

Naruto - Listen, Naruto, if he had access to social media and YouTube and stuff, would learn how to make his nest from them. He didn't have anyone to teach him how, so he loves seeing how other people do it so he can copy and take the bits he likes. He will order weird shit for his nest sometimes though. He acknowledges that some of the stuff is weird, but don't you dare call his ramen pillow weird, because he'll defend it 😤😤

Beel - Yes, he watches food Tiktoks and then eats more than normal, so Lucifer bans him from it.

Levi - He spends so much time on Tiktok, I can't even say. He loves it, but it also triggers his envy when people have better cosplays than him or better anime collections and set ups. So, maybe it's best to limit him sometimes.

Asmo - Easily Devildom Tiktok famous. He loves the app and showing his adoring followers his beauty routines and sex toy collections makes him happy lol.

Zen - Yes, that would be so good for exposure!! He would so go viral singing with his shirt off XD

Yoosung - this made me laugh because Yoosung really would send those 'send this to your alpha' Tiktoks. He eagerly awaits for a reply every time and takes them seriously haha.

I CAN‘T EXPLAIN HOW MUCH LOVE I HAVE FOR WUSYANAME. Especially the new chapter. The chemistry o h m y g o d. I adore how u write megumi literally how could you turn a bastard, bully, monster into a cute boy who’s scared to show affection. I already saw ppl saying they’re going to kiss next chapter but I‘m not sure about that I think they’ll need a view chapters to get better along (if they’re ever going to kiss ) But I’m a hardcore megumi x reader shipper so🤭 I‘m so excited for chapter 12!!
