Imagine Diantha teaching Iris how to play chess tho, telling her all the strategies she knows, all the times she joined chess tournaments, and the time she wanted to make a club for it. Iris listening to Diantha's stories while playing tho, and then Dia tells her how chess is like a pkmn battle. Oughh imagine Iris finally realizing why Dia was strong tho, not bc of her raw strength, but her strategies. And Iris wanted to know more.

Diantha telling Iris that she lets others go first so she can think of a counter attack, and her teaching Iris abt the advantage of letting people attack first. Teaching her how to make quick strategies during battle, and how to turn the tides in her favour. And yknow maybe through it all, Iris ended up liking chess, she always looked forward playing w Diantha, showing off her own strategies. Of all the Champions, Iris was the first one to ever beat Diantha in chess

Imagine the three of them just being together after the meetings tho, like at Unova imagine Iris showing them around, telling them abt her favourite spots to hang out w friends, and during the night, before Iris has to get back home to Opelucid, they'd always be at the Gym's rooftop or smth stargazing, w Iris pointing out each constellation she sees and telling them abt their stories and legends. And ofc, Lance and Diantha listens to every word, it's nice to hear and see their daughter be so passionate abt smth she loves, and it was nice to see her interests outside of battling.

Lance and Dia asking her more abt it tho, more abt the legends within each constellation, and she rambled on and on until she got tired, until she fell asleep. Lance had to carry her back home during those nights, and they'd tuck her in, bidding her goodnight even tho she's already asleep. But,, it was nice yknow, it really was the sense of normalcy all three of them wanted, and it could've been so so perfect for them

"Don't give me that, Dream. Everyone might call ya a villain but I see it. Every buildin' you've burned has been completely vacant, every bank you've robbed has a history of fraud, every person you've hurt has hurt ya first. But ya can stop all that now. I get it, okay? I understand. It's my fault. What I said back then, I-"

"How dare you?" Dream looked back at him. Behind his mask, Techno imagined a look of absolute betrayal. "How fucking egotistical do you have to be?? You really think this is all because of some stupid crush I had years ago?"

"I hurt ya, Dream. The only person you should be taking your anger out on is me."

The ex-hero scoffed. "Even now, you're still the same self-righteous son of a bitch. I have nothing to say to you. None of this is about you." He turned to leave, but Techno closed the distance between them in a flash and grabbed his arm.

"Well I have somethin' to say to ya."

Dream whipped around to face him, tugging his arm like he wanted to pull away only to pause.

"I was wrong. I was a coward and I didn't mean a word of what I said. Dream, I love-"

"No!" The younger yanked himself free and shoved at Techno's chest, earning him a enough space to point an accusatory finger. "You don't get to do that! You don't get to change your mind and think that'll make everything okay! That's not fair!"

His voice wavered, stuttering. He was crying, Techno realized, again. And again, because of him.

"I didn't change my mind, Dream," he spoke calmly, hands raised in surrender. "I loved ya back then too."

The masked man shook his head, muttering a "stop" but Techno pressed on.

"I was a coward. I thought rejectin' ya would protect ya but now I see how wrong I was."

"Just stop, please."

"I've got a lot of enemies, Dream, and the thought of somethin' happenin' to ya because of me scared me, okay? Because I love ya and I didn't-"

"Stop!! Stop it, shut up!" Dream screamed, pressing his hands to his ears. "I don't care anymore! You had your chance. I already told you: this isn't about you. It's about me. I'm not a hero. I'm a villain now, so I'm gonna do whatever the hell I want and you. Can't. Stop me."

Before Techno could respond, the thud of someone landing next to them startled him and he reached for his sheathed sword. It was someone in a cloak like Dream's, and when they rose from a crouch Techno couldn't help but think he'd seen him before.

"This the guy you mentioned, Dream?" They asked, coming to stand beside the ex-hero.

After a moment of silence, Dream huffed, "Not anymore." Then, he turned on his heel and approached the edge of the roof. "C'mon, Punz. We're done here."

Punz? Why was that familiar?

"Dream, wait!" Punz stepped in front of him before he could get to him, the barrel of a pistol pointed at his forehead.

"You heard him. Don't be stupid," they warned and walked backwards to Dream, still aiming the gun.

"Goodbye, Techno," Dream murmured. He wrapped an arm around Punz's waist and they leapt from the roof together.

Techno ran to where they last stood, watching as Dream swung from building to building with his neon green strings until he disappeared from sight. He released a heavy sigh.

Something wet gathered on his eyelashes and slid down his cheek. Then, it started to rain.

I start school tomorrow, so uploads to my AU are more than likely going to take longer. I think I've already said this but this is just another heads up. Anyways, I wanted to do something before school to try and get some motivation back, so I decided to be dumb and make some villain designs for some of the TFBW heroes!!

Firstly, we have Mosquito, I decided to change his name to Swarmer.

I gave him his hat crown thing from TSOT, because I thought he would be kinda lazy redoing his whole outfit thing, which is why it looks relatively the same. Mosquito's have four legs (I think), so I gave him an extra set of cardboard arms that are tied around his suit, but they could also be working arms if he turned into a mutant from something radioactive. He has fangs to suck blood, like with some of his attacks in the game. I gave his wings a purple tint to match his crown, and then some purple stripes throughout. Under his vuvuzela/nose piece is fake blood, just different shades of red paint to make himself look "edgy".

Nextly, we have Super Craig, name changed to Torturous Tucker.

He honestly wouldn't give a fuck about redesigning his entire outfit, so he sticks with some simple changes, nothing crazy but it's enough to let you know he's bad. Firstly, the paper on his shirt is now replaced with two connected T's, for his name. He has a jacket type thing thrown around his sweater, I thought that would look cool. His shoes are a little bedazzled, nothing much. I gave him some small stitching on his hat and then some red face paint. Kind of like Captain Diabetes, I gave him some gloves, which are the same color as Wonder Tweek's sweater. I thought that would be nice.

Speaking of Captain Diabetes...that's the final redesign I did. Actually, this design is NOT mine, I got permission by @cat-brrr to make a PNG type thing of their evil Captain Diabetes design, Admiral Anarchy.

This took me forever 😭 😭 and I don't even know if I got everything on there, or if it's all correct. I don't think I need to explain every little detail for this one because honestly, there's a lot going on. But his hair...I love his hair, it's so goofy in a good way. I already knew I wanted to make this silly guy after I finished the other two, because Clyde and Scott belong together hashtag Scyde world domination haha.

Also happy Scyde day!! August 22!! (today!) I might make a little animation or a sketch or smth because SCYDE IS LIFE

Ok but like the oblivion au-

They do get into heaven. Via Nezha. Like, LBD still happens, and the sumadi fire. Mk is kinda like, “Ok, so imma put brain washing everyone on hold.” And he meets Nezha when the time comes.

Months later, when shit goes down, he brings in Nezha via Wukong, and gets him under. Using a special track for celestials. And boom. Celestial realm is his.

Ok but actually Nezha being involved is absolutely part of the whole thing as it goes. Admittedly- this whole thing DOES happen after LBD, the Oblivion series in its canon is post-LBD but pre-Bull Family officially calling it quits for now on the world domination thing (I mean ive always been of the mind that the quick turn around on the villains is to the show's detriment but granted how short a runtime it has they have to work with very little and i respect that)

But in the Bad end/Tyrant Prince timeline, Nezha does in fact get involved. Because- well... the Celestials aren't SO detached that they don't notice a city suddenly being ENTIRELY run by Sun Wukong's successor who's now running around calling himself a prince.

And since he has a history with Qi Xiaotian, Nezha is sent to investigate. By this point there aren't speakers lining the outside of the city streets just yet, fully pumping the air with a low level oblivion high to keep everyone placid and happy, but in most shops and public/government buildings it's being very softly played, so Nezha as he does his investigating isn't... really finding anything too odd. People seem to be going around just as normal.

And it's so... oddly tranquil... the kind of sensation that makes you just... want to not cause trouble for other people, just go about your day and be kind. (and the fact that that thought is so eloquent and dictated doesn't occur at this point) And Nezha is of course lured into such a state of 'well this is fine actually' that he doesn't see any real danger in approaching Xiaotian himself to check in.

Nezha leaves Xiaotian's new home, some old abandoned estate that he was in the middle of restoring with the help of Red Son and Long Xiaojiao, positive that this new direction the city was being taken in was for the best. In fact he was ready to immediately return to the celestial realm and leave a glowing report on the matter. Because Qi Xiaotian is truly a VERY well meaning person and he's so very aware of the issues that mortals face from his own humble beginnings so he can be trusted to look out for the people of the city.

He doesn't realize the thoughts in his head don't sound like his own internal voice until he's just beyond city limits, and the sun has set, when it was high in the sky when he had entered.

In the Tyrant Prince canon- he only notices this because it was a slip up in Xiaotian's messier Prince Days, he had forgotten to tell him to fully disregard and reason away anything like gaps in time and other such oddities. So when Nezha realizes he's missing SEVERAL hours that don't relate to the information he had- and trying to think about the particulars of the conversation he'd JUST been part of... the details become fuzzy like he's remembering something from thousands of years ago.

And it scares him.

He doesn't return to the celestial realm, he's afraid that in that missing time something was put in his head that would make him a danger-

So he just...doesn't go back. That thing you mentioned in the ask? That's like his biggest fear during all of this 'tyrant prince' stuff, that he might be used as a sleeper agent, a cataclysm that would give the child unprecedented control over the celestial realm.

He makes it to safety in canon- and in fact it's his testimony that shuts down the entire celestial realm into quarantine, nobody allowed in or out of the human realm.

and it also catches the ear of someone that might be able to do more than just watch with nervous eyes as to what may happen next. Someone with a personal stake in this as a dear friend is caught in this web.

Someone that may grow fed up with this sooner rather than later.

you are very right with the length of the show with romance in mind (5 seasons w like 25 episodes each) bc you only get crumbs until season 5 or smtg, but the rest of it is just as fun. imo, the first three seasons peaked like that shit was so ridiculous and the characters were really dorky and cringe and the parts where they had to deal with mental health and stuff were like. pretty okay for a typical kids show that censors things. and then it went downhill at 4 in terms of certain characters' development but it was good in terms of other characters' developments (not my fav at all bc they began to villainize one of my favorite character), and then the romance finally picked up at 5 but then the lore got so bad that it was hilarious and yeah, the show is a mess but it's very near and dear to me (tbh i only probably enjoyed it sm bc i didn't take it seriously at all lol)

but yeah, best part about watching the show (other than the show itself) is the fan works, from the fics to the artworks they're all so good, especially the aus (i think you might like this one au artist in particular but i'll hold off in case i accidentally spoil smtg if you decide to watch it😭😭)

Moving on from that, I'm glad you loved the story so much. It's always wonderful to know that readers love what I write. Like yeah I mainly wrote for myself but the praise tho I feel it's unneeded (I'm always gonna be finding things I couldve done better 😂).

Honestly this story really took a life of its own. I say that with every smau tbh, I start with one idea and then by the end it's a different but still somehow similar idea that I started it 😂.

I'm so glad this YN is ur fave. She's struggling so much even if everything was okay cause her inner demons were always there, they didn't disappear and her learning to lean on those around her, accept that she is loved and cared for was very important to me.

I also was very cautious in that I didn't villainize YN for these very real feelings that everyone feels.

God knows I've been through moments of self hatred and I wanted to show that it's never as bad as you think. You might think your all alone but there is always someone there for you to talk to. I know that YN frustrated readers when she let her insecurities get in the way of her happiness but that is a reality that sometimes you get so in your head that you think what your doing is best when it isn't.

Oooh good question. I don't necessarily plan my smaus tbh. I just have the rough idea then it's chapter by chapter. Which if you've noticed is why chapter titles tend to change quite a bit cause I change my mind or this one idea doesn't work but this other idea for the next chapter works better.

I love txt and Soobin is my bias so I was always going to include him. Yeonjun and Beomgyu kinda just came along too. The idea to have them be triplets came and I ran with it. All three of them were gonna cause more chaos and strife with there being actual feelings still there with Sooyn but I decided against that after considering how much YN is dealing with low self esteem and self hatred. In the end I love the bond they have 🫶🏼🫶🏼.

If I can give another rec, I suggest reading Peace that's my other HP au but it's Jay this time and it's Gossip Girl meets Harry Potter. (I just wanna know your views on that 😂).

My “Magic” Touch: My Unique Magic allows me to “Behead” anyone who breaks the rules and block off their magic. It’s rather useful when dealing with all the troublemakers in this school.

Storybook Romance: Romance? Perish the thought. My school work and circulars keep me busy enough as is. Not to mention the troublesome ‘Rebel Uprising’…. Besides… I’ll be married off once the next destined King of Hearts is found, so why does it matter what I want?

(fun fact I didn’t know that was an actual word until like 2 minutes ago I made it up like 3 months ago as a play on Grimwalkers from TOH)

A little summary of what you’re getting into, at least with season 1 winky face (this is the summary i wrote for when i eventually post this on ao3 or smth): After an accident that leaves Danny with ghostly abilities (because no, there’s no way he’s dead), said creatures seem to be coming out of the woodwork, sometimes quite literally. The 15 year old High School Freshman takes it upon himself to keep the town safe since his accident is the reason they’re getting through. Oh, and he keeps breaking the lights. That’s probably not important.

OR; A rewrite of Danny Phantom as a fruity No One Knows AU and I’m changing his powers to electricity based. Homie was electrocuted it makes more sense imo

Basic info you might want: 

The AU itself: This is a no one knows au!!!! Sam and Tucker do not know. While they heard about the accident, in classic nok aus fashion, Danny is refusing to give them details and is pushing them away. In a classic Finch fashion, I made the death of a ghost correspond to their abilities. As such, Danny has electricity-based powers. 

Genre: Superhero, obv, thats what DP is, a little comedy, but mostly HORROR ELEMENTS!!! I love horror. Psychological? Probably. Body? Definitely.

The ghosts: While some ghosts will not make an appearance (most likely at least. Look man i'm still working on it), your favs are going to be completely revamped! Every ghost that will show up I hope to flesh out well :) except maybe one-time villains/cameos. I have created a whole system of ghost typing ranging from Will-o-the-wisps and Shades to Liminals (who are often called, ahem, Gravewalkers) and Lords/Ancients. Each ghost typing has their own abilities and whatnot (think like the ghosts in Phasmophobia). And since some of my typings would BUTCHER a few characters including Danny, ghost types can overlap :D For example, in this au Danny is a liminal banshee, and by the end of the series he’ll be a liminal banshee and [REDACTED]! This mostly applies to higher level ghosts since those are more titular than anything, but it will also apply to a few of the main cast of full ghosts.

The characters: The characters you know and love are back, but a few with a bit more substance. Team Phantom is overall pretty similar, just adjusted to fit headcanons I’ve inserted into the au. Vlad is not an incel anymore and now is taking Daddy Issues to the extreme! This definitely won’t have any negative consequences for Phantom. Oh, hes also like, 5x more manipulative. Danielle is back and BETTER. While I quite liked her in canon, now she makes more sense. Instead of going by “Dani,” she decided to be less confusing and pick a cooler name (her words) and goes by “Elle!” Pronounced like the letter L shes built different (its not because I keep reading “Ellie” wrong or anything). She is also physically the same age as Danny. She also has a dual ghost type, but you can wait for that I’ll do like a proper character intro or smth.

Season 1 (the only season i’m giving you a peak of rn): Season 1 is mostly a learning period for Danny. Unlike canon where the origin story is left to the intro until a retcon in season 2, the Accident is told through flashbacks, Daredevil style. Overall, this season will be the slowest, as it’s more for building the world, establishing characters and motives, and other stuff to make the next seasons flow as well as possible. Think like the Owl House where season 1 has more filler that progressively gets fewer and further between as it continues. This season ends with what very well might be a rewrite of one of everyone’s favourite episodes from canon. You can speculate what one that is.

ok i havent been able to get the idea of an dnd-styled rpg inscryption/the hex au out of my head and it's physically paining me at this point (/j). So, I'm making you fuckers deal with my ramblings bc tumblr's just become a place for my to spit out ideas so they'll stop taking up space in my brain. So! Ramble under the cut since I'll be main tagging this bitch for organization purposes

So main character would be Inscryption's Challenger, and I'm thinking maybe the entire party of em is just. Different versions of the Challenger designs in Inscryption? Either that, or the Challenger is accompanied by Luke, Kaycee, and Lionel. Not Carla tho, I got villain plans with her. Tempted to go with the several Challenger designs idea, but then I'd need to come up with names, so. Y'know.

I dont know how im gonna have the world set up, but I'm thinkin the Scrybes now have land they rule over? Maybe not kingdoms for all of em, but yknow. Only issue with that is that I'd need to figure out how to fit the hex characters in, so what I'll probably do is just having them having authority in smaller areas. So like, taking inspo from Leshy's ties to Slavic mythology, he'd be king of the forest. Grimora might be an infamous necromancer, I havent fully figured these guys out yet.

But i DO have six other characters figured out so ohoHO buckle down, everyone.

Because I refuse to change Rocky's general appearance if I dont have to, Rocky was kidnapped from a young age and experimented on. By who? I'll figure that out eventually. Anyways, so in those few years, Rust was searching for him day and night, and eventually found the people that took Rocky. I have him planned to be a rogue in the rpg au, so yknow. Breaks in, kills some people, has a very heartfelt reunion with his kid, while also. Internally being very fucking angry that these assholes experimented so goddamn much on a child. He got Rocky out safe, and they're now travelling the lands for a place to call home, while Rust is. Also looking for the people who were running the operation, since they weren't there. I am. Considering making Reggie and Jeremiah full on villains for this. So. We'll see what happens. Other idea is Irving and the Gameworks/Gamefuna. I'll figure that out later. Rust and Rocky will aid the players in exchange for helping Rust find the people who hurt his kid. Rocky's completely unaware of how much his pops wants revenge, and really just wants to find somewhere safe to call home. Too bad years of separation affected Rust so poorly

Next up, ex-sorceress Chandrelle, who now claims to be a warlock. She's a lone traveller, and doesn't answer when asked what god she draws her power from. I'm still trying to work out how she got stuck with Vallamir, so that'll be a future ramble. But yeah, she's stuck with him. Her questline would probably have something to do with getting rid of Vallamir, but another idea would be her looking for Lazarus. I'll figure out the separation lore when I have the Vallamir lore figured out, but they got separated, and Chandrelle hasn't been able to find him. Actually I could probably make these work as one big questline tbh. We'll see. I'm thinking maybe Chandrelle got into a dangerous battle, and in order to ensure she'd be safe, made a deal with Vallamir for more power in exchange for being possessed and used at will? Anyways, yeah ok im running with this idea, big battle happens, but even tho Chandrelle's safe, Lazarus! Is not. He ends up getting taken, and now Chandrelle's just looking for closure, wanting to know what happened to him.

Next up, Lazarus! So yeah, he got taken, and I'm thinkin it's gonna be Gamefuna for this one (Gonna rename it tho so it doesnt have game in it. Name's a work in progress). Anyways, they forced him to train to be a ranger instead of a paladin, and im thinkin the organization thingy does have smth similar to guns? I'll work out the details for the weapon later. So, eventually, Lazarus manages to just barely escape, and is. Kinda on the run. Moving as far as he reasonably could from where he was, he finds an abandoned temple, and fixes it up a little, now teaching swordfighting to aspiring paladins, or just anyone who wants to use a sword.

And lastly for those I have figured out, Pike! An ex-cleric, Pike served under the wizard Magnificus, having been one of his pupils. Not sure if I'm keeping the torture trials or not, but Mags still treated his students like shit, and Pike's interest in magic started dying down when she saw some knights in passing. Deciding she wanted to be a swordfighter instead, she ran away from Mag's lands, and started training to be a swordfighter, residing in a somewhat nearby village. And one day, while picking up some food from the market, Lazarus saw her training in a nearby field. And. Well. She was doing horribly. He had walked over and gave some pointers, and it eventually just led to her being one of his students at the temple. Pike having Lazarus as a mentor is completely self indulgent on my part bc I think it's cool and funky. Go funky sword people go!!

So, jotting down some ideas for Sado and Carla, im thinking Carla's an artificer, and one of her experiments eventually led to creating Sado (censoring it bc tumblr's a bitch and i aint typing dark clown you-know-who every time). Dunno the specifics, but she does have a huge fucking grudge against Lionel for smth, and just kinda. Wants him fucking dead, whether she kills him or Sado does. So yeah, she created Sado, basically making a chaos incarnate. Sado's a mix of a rogue and a wizard, running purely on magic, so she's able to bend reality quite a bit. While Carla spends most of her time in her workshop, Sado is constantly causing issues. So yeah, those two are, like, the big bads.

I'll make more posts with more ideas later, and add in any doodles I make, but thats what I got rn

He was tired of Tubbo and his "marriage" to Ranboo that Tommy wasn’t apart of, and he was tired of their fawning over their new adopted (and decidedly not adorable) pig-son that he was also not apart of, so he would go find his own “son” thank you very much! He would go down to the beach, and he would find a child, and he would name it Clementine (or something equally awesome), and-

-and that was how he caught his brother kissing a fish.

Yes. A literal fish.

Well, of course it was literally a fish—fish live in the ocean and the prince’s palace happened to be right next to the ocean. Also, mermaids weren’t real, so a fish was the most interesting thing to see in the water.

It was a salmon from the looks of it (he didn't know fish as well as the sailors). Wilbur had tripped over a silly little salmon somehow washed up on the beach. The poor thing must be nearly dried up by now if it had been here since the storm ended last night. Wilbur gently picked it up, brushed the sand off making sure none got in between the delicate scales, and placed it back in the shallows of the ocean, tiny waves lapping at his exposed ankles.

The water felt nice, he decided. Maybe he would stay here forever instead of going back to the castle to meet more suitors. The last thing he wanted was to put on that stiff fancy coat and kiss more random hands and sit through awkward dinners and mind numbing turns around the garden that his father insisted on, with someone he already knows he's not into. He's not looking for a relationship at all, frankly. But no, Phil insists.

Wilbur dropped his jacket, letting the slow sea breeze ruffle his hair as he plops down on the sand. The sun was setting--he'd have to go back eventually. It wouldn't do for the crown prince to be out late, not to mention Tommy's incessant nagging when his brother does anything even hypothetically suspicious (not that he ever does).

"I'll tell you a tale of the bottomless blue..." The crew sang as they went about their tasks, pulling ropes and climbing the mast. Wilbur grinned. He didn't know the words to their shanty, but he loved being out on the ship regardless.

Schlatt didn't seem to agree, ducking his head over the starboard side of the ship as if he might be sick. Wil hurried down to the main deck to help the captain hoist the sail. "An excellent breeze and a following sea," Puffy remarked. "Queen Amphitrite must be smiling on us today!" Despite her cheerful tone, her eyes saddened as she looked out over the waves.

"Queen Amphitrite?" That name had never come up in any of his studies before. It sounded familiar though...perhaps Techno had mentioned it before?

"Yeah!" Tubbo piped up from beside him. Unlike his father, the royal advisor, the young man seemed perfectly at home on a boat. "She's the Queen of the merfolk! Didn't you know that?" His gleeful laughter caught in the wind and flew away to some far off place beyond the horizon.

"Tubbo! How many times have told you--enough of that nautical nonsense! Merpeople aren't real. Don't mind him, Wilbur, he's just a boy." Schlatt snapped.

"But it's true!" He protested.

"And now...presenting her royal highness--Queen Amphitrite!" The little merman rushed out of the way as the kelp curtains drew back, but there was no need. The graceful Queen was plenty careful to avoid him, coral pink hair fanning out behind her majestically.

"There's no need to be so formal. Just call me Niki!" She settled herself on the throne. "Now then, who was first?"

Sally smiled and swam forward.

BOOM!

A wave sent the merfolk flying into the walls of the palace and shook the throne. Whatever that was, it was far more than just a storm. As soon as Sally recovered, she was swimming full speed for one of the upper windows.

"Sally! Sally! What are you doing!? Get to shelter!" Niki called. She hardly knew what she was doing, to be frank. Pure recklessness morbid curiosity had taken hold. She had to find out what was going on!

Deadly orange and yellow swam in her vision from above the water and a massive shadow of sharp, jagged edges and flapping sails listed violently from one side to the other.

Ok! Time to go! I've seen what I came to-

Her tail hit something big and hard and suddenly couldn't move enough to swim. She thrashed, realizing that it must have gotten tangled in some fabric and net attached to the solid thing (and also that maybe this wasn't a good idea the water was heating up and the storm was practically throwing her and the thing out of the water maybe she shouldn't have come up) She twisted, muscles straining in order to reach back in the midst of the world trying to toss her around, and it was a human she was attached to.

Sally could see the faint sheen of blood washing away from his face in the lightning's flash, and in some one in a million chance, his billowy shirt had looped around her fins. Dammit dammit dammit she shouldn't have come up here- She would just have to try and swim with the poor man attached and try to bypass the fact that humans float when they drown.

Stupid humans.

With some struggle to bring the man closer to her chest and a mighty push, she finally started to gain enough force behind her to move away from the wreck, sloppily trying to maneuver around the body stuck to her, and the strange angle it forced her body into. Luckily, the typhoon was pushing them away, but in a manner only slightly less dangerous than being near the flaming debris. Sally and the man tumbled over each other the whole way to calmer waters.

After what seemed like hours, they reached the edge of the raging storm. Sally caught her breath in large gulps, trying to ignore the burning of muscle strain and bruises that would surely appear in the morning, gaze drifting over to her unwanted passenger.

Now staring at the man, she noticed he was familiar. This was the man that saved her from the beach! He was notably less attractive when half dead.

Well, life for a life. Let's get you back on the beach pretty boy.

It had been almost two weeks of the prince coming down to the beach to meet Sally. They talked and Wilbur played for them and Sally would splash him with muddied sand until he finally taught her to play as well. It easily became the highlight of their day, and as much as Sally savored the free time when she was alone to use her voice, it was always better with him, no matter how many times they played the same songs. She realized she was getting comfortable with the prince--too comfortable if you had asked her any time before this. She found herself wishing she could walk around with him in his daily tasks as a person, rather than the occasional day out of the ocean as a fish in a bowl.

Niki would never allow it. Despite acknowledging that fact, this evening they swiped the guitar immediately, and began strumming the tune to their favorite song. Without missing a beat the singer began, perfectly on cue, as always.

"The cute bomber jacket you've had since sixth form, adorned with patches of places you’ve been-"

"-Is nothing on my khaki coat that I got from a roadside when I was sixteen." Wilbur stopped when Sally joined in, but after a nod he started again, hesitant.

"..The roads are my home as horizon's my target; if I keep on moving, never lose sight of it. Treating my memory of you like a fire, let it burn out, don't fight it and try to move on." It only took a moment for their voices to meld in comfortable harmony, and Sally could feel herself getting lost in the music like she used too, listening from the water at night to the melodies floating out the prince's open window. "It's been sixty weeks since I saw Vienna. A bandage and a wide smile slapped across my face. I'll pick up my hiking boots when I am ready, and I'll put down my roots when I'm dead."

There was a moment of silence when the song ended where the last notes hung in the air between them, slowly fading until they weren't sure if they were still hearing them or just remembering.

“You’re…a good singer.”

"Thank you. I don't sing a lot though, and I definitely haven't had any proper lessons, so you don't have to say that. I know I'm not re-"

“No, I mean it. Why haven’t you been singing officially?”

She could no longer hide her smile at the praise. “I used to be in the kingdom's children's choir when I was little but…well you know, stuff happens. I didn’t enjoy it anymore so I quit. I haven’t gotten any opportunities to sing since. Not to anyone but myself at least," they chuckled sheepishly. Wilbur made a dissatisfied "hmph" and frowned. "But...I liked listening to you. Before we met I used to be able to hear you from all the way out there," They motioned vaguely to the waves stretching along the horizon.

That's it. He was fucking done. He was sick of everyone pressuring him. Half these people he didn't even know and half were distant relatives that had never had to deal with the stress of preparing the kingdom for the future--what right did they have to comment on his situation!?

"Look at you! You've gotten so handsome! Don't tell me you still don't have a partner!"

"I've done my best to find him one, but he's being stubborn," Phil mentioned.

"Come now, Wilbur, give it a chance! You can't focus on songwriting forever! Techno may be taking the throne, but you still have to--"

"I AM!" He shouted. That shut everyone up real quick. "I mean, I do have a significant other. And I am getting married! It's just been a secret." Oh no, what was he getting himself into?

"Why has it been a secret? This is great news!"

"Because I'm not marrying a royal. Her name is Sally. I met her on the beach..."

"...On the beach?"

"Yes."

"And where does this 'Sally' come from, Wilbur?"

Why did they have to ask that?! "...I don't know. She won't tell me," He lied, reluctantly. "But I'm marrying her!"

A chorus of "WHAT!?" rang long and loud throughout the dining hall, making the prince try very hard not to purse his lips and squeeze his eyes shut and turn away. What the hell did I just say!? No one will accept that! It's so sketchy! None of them even blinked as a fire haired woman plummeted from the ceiling, crashed onto the table and rolled directly into Wilbur's lap.

"What the fuck Wilbur!?" (Now their audience gasped.)

The prince realized dully that he had automatically brought up his arms to support Sally's legs and shoulders so they didn't roll off onto the floor. He pleaded with them with his eyes to just go with it, knowing their incredulous glare was well deserved. "I promise darling, the proposal I planned was much nicer, I didn't exactly expect...well, that." He wasn't even trying to lecture them right now, he had no right. Sally didn't seem to mind that he mentioned her roguish climbing in places she shouldn't be. They were grinning now, and only Wilbur could see the diabolical glint in their eyes. "But please, would you do me the honor of marrying me?"

"Hmm...I think I shall!" The knowledge that Sally was planning something devious made sparks shoot along his nerves, but at least she agreed. It took most of Wil's remaining self control not to pull her into a kiss right there. After all, that is what the couple was supposed to do when they get engaged, right? Only for that reason, of course, but nonetheless he didn't want to push them into more o--

Before the crowd could stop cheering and egg the pair into a kiss, the mermaid did it herself. Despite their awkwardness from before, despite being in front of so many people, despite the fact that it was fake, he couldn't help but melt when their hands tangled in his hair and pulled him down. It may or may not have been one of the best kisses he had ever had. (So that was their plan? Make him a complete mess in front of the dignitaries and relatives?)

Knowing Sally, that was only a taste of their plans to get back at him.

Wilbur stared at Sally as the mermaid scrutinized--or rather, admired--her fangs in the prince's mirror. The gleaming canines weren't sexy at all, and Wilbur definitely doesn't think about them often. Wil wanted to be mad that Sally had stolen his pants--he should be mad, but they looked amazing on her with that corset top and he definitely wasn't too busy staring at their pale exposed shoulders and graceful neck to actually care.

"Sal, those are my pants."

"Yep." You little shit. He loved it.

"Take them off or I will."

"I would love to watch you take your pants off, or let you take off mine, but I believe we have a ribbon cutting to go to." They smirked and he blushed violently. I walked right into that one.

"You know that's not what I meant."

Sally stopped putting on their eyeliner for a moment to meet Wil's eyes in the mirror with a suggestive look. "Perhaps you could mean it that way later?" Delicate chiffon pooled halfway down her arms and lengthened into sleeves matching the cream of the top and ribbon holding it shut behind her back, accentuating her powerful build and the way her thighs and hips widened in not quite a womanly way but something unreasonably attractive.

By the time he was about to answer, she had finished her makeup and fluffed their slightly curled hair as they turned to him. Their amused smile made his pride swell up in a rush to quell the raging embarrassment, and let them grab his hand. "Come on highness, they're waiting."

"Th-" Don't stutter! "You can't keep stealing my clothes Sal. You have your own and we can get you whatever else you want. People are going to realize, and then what will they think!?"

Their face went serious. "Fine, sorry. You're right..."

"Thank you."

"...We can't have people thinking that before it's actually happened. What a scandal."

"SALLY!"

The mer cackled and fixed him with a glowing smile. "I'm just messing with you, calm down. If you really want to me stop taking your clothes then fiiiiine. It's just no fun that way. Besides, yours are nice."

Wil sighed. "...It's ok, you can keep taking them." Dammit. I'm such a sucker.

"Haha! Yes!" The prince smiled despite himself.

wishmaker thoughts

in terms of it being a single installment in the larger narrative of miraculous ladybug, i don’t have a lot of thoughts on wishmaker other than ‘haha cool someone knows both of their identities at the same time wonder where this will go’ bc like. i am unable to separate myself from the idea that i absolutely cannot judge something (in this case, season- and series-long arcs) until i see it in its Entirety, in its Proper Complete State (which i know doesn’t exactly mesh with television as a serialised art form but jhdfghj wtvr thats a whole other discussion) so i don’t, and won’t, really have an opinion on luka knowing their identities until i see what the show does with it

on the other hand, in terms of its own merits as an episode (as in, the parts of the episode that are self-contained and are supposed to have their own story arc within the 20min) wishmaker was probably one of the weaker episodes of the show? alec’s akumatisation practically came out of nowhere - the show usually does a pretty good job of setting up the through lines that lead to a character’s akumatisation right from the start of the ep (you know, like with actual foreshadowing and good writing and shit) but wishmaker felt more concerned with the interactions between luka & adrien & marinette than having the villain feel natural within the story. which is all well and good, like this episode is about those three and should be focused on luka’s relationship with adrien & marinette if it wanted to have the proper impact of luka finding out their identities, but it just seemed like the episode couldn’t balance being both a run of the mill, monster of the week episode and an Event episode at the same time (that being said, i doubt this episode would’ve been enough to hold its own across a two parter so i get how the unbalance arose). instead of throwing alec’s characterisation out of whack they couldve used his early screen time to lead up to his akumatisation more naturally - surely something about being a tv presenter and having to be fake all the time for a living and not staying true to what his younger self wanted or SOMETHING would like. be putting him down in the dumps or smth. idk. that’s just off the top of my head surely the writers could come up with something more substantial. and yeah this might take away some attention from the emotional core of luka, adrien & marinette but it’d at least 1. tie in with the theme of the episode and 2. set some precedent for his negative feelings instead of him getting akumatised in like. ten seconds hgfdfghjk

the only other thing that kinda rubbed me the wrong way was how wishmaker’s power seemed especially contrived, even for this show? like i Know half of the akumatised powers are to either get ladybug and chat noir to kiss (contrived for the sake of romance which is. generally fine in a romance show and also approved by my shipper brain) or reveal their identities (which actually ties into the plot and the villain’s motivations and therefore makes it...not really contrived) so wishmaker being used to reveal their identities is fine. but um. the leap hawkmoth made in how his powers would do that is. wild. it’s like:

and again, i know hawkmoth has given an endless list of powers to people that make you think ‘what the fuck was he hoping to accomplish with that?? what did he THINK would happen?’ and i’m all for hawkmoth having dumb plans, being soundly beaten and then having to figure out smarter ways to beat lb & cn, but i guess my problem here is that in this episode he was actually proven RIGHT. like he had no guarantee that lb & cn wouldn’t have childhood wishes a la dino man and mr banana, but he really put out this fairly weak akuma with the immediate assumption that it would reveal their identities and like?? if viperion wasn’t there he’d have achieved it! (well, idk abt ladybug, he’d at least probably hit chat noir, which is. an interesting au to think about). the link between revealing childhood wishes and revealing lb & cn’s identities seemed like a massive leap in logic to me (more than this show usually makes), and idk if anyone else felt that when watching the episode but like kjhdfghjk hawkmoth buddy can you explain your thinking for just a second like i’ll accept what you’re doing i just need to know why the fuck you’re doing it and how you got there

but other than that! i really really liked this episode and i was hyped up the entire fucking time!! i had to keep pausing it bc i was getting overwhelmed LMAO. i guess one thing i will say so that this doesn’t seem like a wall of negativity (which i swear i didn’t mean for it to be, there were only two (2) things i didn’t like about the episode that i felt weakened it, it just takes me a billion words to get to my point) is that however they handle luka knowing their identities in future episodes, i fucking loved the way they handled it in this episode. for some background, i’ve honestly never cared much either way abt luka, i have zero negative feelings about him, it’s just that he has the unfortunate case of not being a character type i particularly care abt, and the writing hasn’t done anything much to endear him to me. he’s fine, and i certainly like him more than other characters, but i’m pretty much as neutral on him as you could get. UNTIL THIS EPISODE! okay not really, something abt him agreeing to be friends with marinette in crocoduel made me go ‘:) what a nice boy :)’ BUT! THIS EPISODE! i’m proud to announce i’m officially a luka stan. LYING BALD-FACED TO LADYBUG? KING. LYING TO LADYBUG AFTER THE SEASON OPENER OF HIM GETTING AKUMATISED OVER MARINETTE LYING??? i am SO here for internal character conflicts YES! this is what i WANT! set up a character who has a strict line in the sand and put them in a situation where they’re forced to cross it anyway, and see what happens next!!!! i really would not mind a whole character study on luka after this. like....the fucking intrigue.......why did he lie, and how does he feel about it? does he regret it? does he consider it a necessary evil? i’m sure all of this will be answered in like. a single line from him five episodes down the road bc that’s how this show handles shit like this but. those last few minutes were really just straight bangers i’m still not recovered

well this was. longer than i thought it’d be. and again, i liked this episode a lot, idk what compelled me to write all this out. i usually don’t have a lot of formulated thoughts like this after an episode of ml; i think that it was just bc there were a couple things i could actually critique in the ep that it made it easier to pick apart my feelings. but anyways!

TL;DR wishmaker, in its self contained elements, felt a bit weak as an episode bc 1. alec’s akumatisation was mad rushed and 2. the way his powers were used to further the plot felt contrived to me (yes, even for miraculous). but, in the episode’s over-arching elements within the season/show, i immensely enjoyed it, primarily because of the amount of intrigue it set up in 1. luka’s characterisation and 2. the possibilities emerging from luka knowing lb & cn’s identities

oh there’s so many possibilities. i can Definitely fuck w an idea closer to canon where roci met law in the context of the family, maybe they left together and everything actually worked out okay, and once law got older they came to terms with their Feelings.

but i also like modern aus where they meet when law’s already an adult, like maybe roci works somewhere and law keeps coming back or he’s a teacher  or (like i enjoy with every law ship) they meet because roci is injured or smth and law has to do his Doctorly Duties

god u know it was not great in canon

and then we get the kiss horikoshi deprived us of (cause we all know that’s what should’ve happened - side note can u tell i’m a sucker for the ‘sexually-tense fighting that leads to a makeout session’ trope?????)

after that they start hooking up and hawks u know is like hurr durr gotta keep a professional appearance but he’s also like so fucking weak for dabi like dabi texts him that he’s bored? hawks suddenly finds an excuse to be over at the league hideout. total coincidence tho, total coincidence

dabi is a desperate lil hoe for hawks’ attention but he tries to hide it behind his whole ‘i don’t care about anything’ facade even when they’re together????? until he snaps over smth - an endeavor thing, a shouto/family thing, a league thing, doesn’t really matter but he fuckin snaps and hawks lets him take it out on him bc he knew there had to be more depth to dabi and y’know ya boi has a lot of trauma to work through and if dabi was taught that fighting was a coping mechanism then sure hawks will fight (bc he knows he’ll win i’m sorry but hawks is op at this point ya boi trained hard to have such a badass quirk)

and the one (1) time dabi actually manages to singe him with a bit of fire, he completely loses it, like genuine breakdown. he never wanted to hurt hawks. never wanted to hurt anyone. but he did, and he kept hurting people and he couldn’t stop bc it felt like something and something was better than nothing and how the fuck did he get here and hawks listens through the whole thing and just holds him and lets him talk and get it all out and ahem i may also be a sucker for the ‘villain never really wanted to be a villain but it felt like the only choice until the hero shows them they can still be good’ trope

okay here are some random ass headcanons bc THANK YOU FOR INDULGING ME!!! I LOVE TALKING ABT MY AUS!!!!

(that’s my standard for all my aus but like Extra Aro here bc inko is demi and reassures her little brother he’s not broken)

inko is eight years older than aizawa, they’re half siblings. inko’s parents had divorced when she was only four, and her father met shouta’s mother when she’s six.

midoriya is inko’s mother’s name and the name she goes by. shouta goes by their father’s name aizawa. inko’s mother has joint custody of inko so unfortunately for shouta she’s not always around at home

this isn’t the best thing for shouta bc their parents are kiiiind of neglectful, so inko ends up looking after shouta much more than she should but it means they’re much much closer.

inko is the one who inspires shouta to be a hero, mostly because he wants to protect his sister like she’s protected him.

bc shouta’s parents suck, inko ends up taking him back to her mother’s house a lot to the point where mrs midoriya is more of a mother than his own. in shouta’s last year of middle school mrs midoriya threatens legal action against shouta’s neglectful parents unless shouta can be adopted by mrs midoriya. he moves in p much the same day.

when shouta is thirteen inko marries her boyfriend of several years, hisashi. shouta is the one who walks her down the aisle, and instead of having a maid of honor, shouta’s her best man.

inko’s mother dies when shouta is seventeen, so shouta ends up having to move into inko’s place. this doesn’t really end all that well considering it’s a small two bedroom flat that has a two year old, and shouta and hisashi haven’t always gotten along. shouta ends up having to sleep in the living room on the couch, or on a futon in izuku’s room.

this....makes things tense. shouta doesn’t hide his distaste of hisashi, considering the man isn’t the best husband. he leaves the housework and raising izuku to inko even though she also works just the same as him. shouta thinks that inko deserves better and inko thinks hisashi’s behavior doesn’t justify a divorce.

that means when shouta graduates and turns eighteen he moves out so he doesn’t actively destroy inko’s marriage and create a bad home environment for izuku to live in. he still babysits as much as needed and takes izuku for days out, although contact between him and inko have become a lot less frequent than it once was

hisashi gets a promotion with a relocation to america, he wants inko and izuku to come with. but inko doesn’t want to uproot their entire life for someone who doesn’t do anything to help the family, so she stays in japan.

inko and hisashi officially get a divorce only a year later when izuku is deemed quirkless. the last straw is when hisashi says smth cruel about izuku’s quirklessness and inko realises that things just won’t work out.

things don’t immediately get fixed between inko and shouta, they were never bad just...terse. but shouta is just relieved that the situation is over, so after a long talk things relax and they start talking more often.

at one point, shouta moves into an apartment in the same block as the midoriyas. they’re not on the same floor but with how close they are they might as well be living with each other for how often they’re at each others places. even though they’re in the same building, izuku has a room in shouta’s apartment that he sleeps at occasionally when he’s too tired to go like three floors up.

izuku has a bad habit of leaving his homework at shouta’s place, enough so that at one point shouta accidentally ends up taking one of izuku’s essays with him to ua because it managed to get in shouta’s marking

at some point shouta convinces inko to let izuku to start martial arts, thinking it would be good for him (izuku is immediately enthusiastic bc even though he’s too young for Hero Training this is the next best thing)

when izuku is in his first year of middle school bakugou pushes izuku too far in his bullying and izuku begs shouta to train him to be a hero.

shouta is understandably concerned bc he doesn’t understand where the sudden desperation is coming from but doesn’t push too hard to find out. he starts the training slowly, but one on one training does start.

izuku tries the hero exam quirkless. he doesn’t get many villain points (7 total actually) but he manages to pass with the additional 36 rescue points for a total of 43. he gets put into 1-a immediately.

and m*neta is replaced by shinsou because shinsou is a Good Boy who also has the hero rescue urge. but he only just manages to get in by the skin of teeth with the lowest score in the hero course. this is a v sore subject w him because he thinks the exam is super biased

(it’s a point where izuku, shinsou and aizawa bond over as they complain at length the bias that ua have for flashy quirks)

at first they don’t really broadcast their relation. it’s not exactly a secret it’s just izuku doesn’t want his hard work to be ignored and shouta doesn’t want to give izuku special treatment. so they’re just sensei and problem child, unless they’re outside ua.

but!!! with izuku and bakugou in the same class with shouta as their teacher....things are gonna come out.

shouta finds out bakugou bullied izuku for years after a disasterous exercise in which bakugou goes too far. he’s almost expelled but instead is transferred to 1-b after a month of suspension.

anyways when p much everyone in 1-a knows their relation, they still call each other sensei and problem child but they’re a lot more open with affection. the class think it’s cute as fuck.

and consider: in the dorms inko gets a job at ua in administration so she ends up on campus a lot, so the students start to see a lot more of the domestic side of the midoriya-aizawa family and they think it’s adorable

also izuku grows up wanting to be an underground hero bc even tho he fucking LOVES all might, his ultimate favourite hero is eraserhead because of how much he loves his uncle 💛💛💛

so like. consider a universe where like. no one knows izuku is quirkless outside of his class so the league are like: “fuck that midoriya kid’s annoying, what the hell is his quirk?” “idk man” “hey brat what’s your quirk?” “its called vibe check” “what’s it do—” “VIBE CHECK!!” *sucker punch*

& izuku maybs has some kind of capture weapon inspired by eraserhead but uniquely his own. like idk bracers that behave like his scarf so izuku can still pull and wrap around others, but he’s also proficient in other weaponry like bo staffs and escrima sticks

knowing me i’d even toss in some shinsou bonding where izuku shows him all the good things about underground heroes. shouta pretty much adopts shinsou, so now he’s izuku’s cousin. they’re the underground duo in 1-a and are almost undefeated at stealth and strategy (a team that’s only rivaled by hagakure and yaoyorozu).
