New Year’s kisses!

With -> Aizawa, Mic, Hawks, Midnight, Ms. Joke and Fatgum! After such a crappy year, let’s give the pros some love!

Nemuri Kayama (Midnight)

Nemuri LOVES New Year’s celebrations!!! She loves getting all dressed up and going to the club but that’s obviously not happening this year

So instead, she’ll get all dressed up to stay home! And insist that you do too! She’ll be right there by your side the entire time to chat or gossip and compliment you every five seconds while you pick out your outfit and do your hair

She isn’t the best cook in the world but she can make a few dishes that are just...so warm. You can taste the love she put into cooking them! But tonight she isn’t feeling like a fancy dinner. So she whips up a huge bowl of ramen with thick chunks of pork thrown in as well as veggies! And of course some eggs!

You can’t help but laugh when you sit to eat together cause...holy cow! Neither of you can eat that much!! Looks like you’ll have leftovers for lunch tomorrow! And the day after!

She takes it upon herself to put a towel around your shoulders to act as a bib so you don’t spill food down the front of you. She’ll tease you about it as if she isn’t wearing one too “Awww look at you! So cuuuteee! Like a big baby!”

Neither of you pick up after dinner besides putting the leftovers in the fridge for later. The dishes can wait! You’ve got each other all to yourselves...might as well make the most of it.

You dance together, hands all over each other, unable to resist the urge...You’re kissing long before the countdown begins :0

She puts a finger against your lips, pausing to smile at the firework display visible from your apartment “Looks like we missed it. Oh well, you’re not going anywhere anyway. Happy new year, honey”

You’ll get plenty of kisses to make up for it! And much more :0 You’ll return the favor too of course! She deserves it :’)

Shouta Aizawa (Eraserhead)

Shouta managed to get the night off so despite it being a holiday, he’s not wasting this opportunity to rest

He’ll order some really shitty takeout and have a movie marathon! He lets you pick the movies and konks out halfway through the first one

If you really want him to stay up he will but is it really that important to stay up? Just set an alarm for 11:55pm and call it good!

Being the persuasive little shit he is, he’ll probably get you to curl up and nap with him. I mean...it’s hard to resist when he’s so warm and his hugs are so inviting

You turn the tv down and set the channel to where the countdown would be later tonight so you can rest together

Sure enough, your alarm goes off just as planned! You gently shake him awake so you can watch the last pre-countdown performance of the night together

You count down along with the announcer and once it hits zero, Shouta smiles :) he pulls you down for a lazy, tired kiss, his hands running up and down your back ‘Happy new year...can we go to bed now? It’s so late...’ Of course you can’t say no to that handsome face

Emi Fukukado (Ms. Joke)

Emi has been planning this for awhile!! She bought party poppers, silly hats, board games, noise makers- all kinds of stuff to make your night together special!

She keeps the countdown channel on all day long, watching the speeches and performances from celebrities “Ooo!!! I didn’t know they were performing!!! So cool!!”

Her eyes light up as she watches, practically bouncing in her seat while crushing your hand in her grip

You eat tons of popcorn and candy while playing charades, Twister and Mario Kart on her Switch. Some other games she brings out are tough to play with two people but eventually, you guys just make up your own rules! It’s more fun that way!

She jumps for joy when the countdown starts! She gets her party popper ready and fixes your hat “Here we go!!! TEN! NINE! EIGHT!-“

You both pop your confetti poppers and laugh as it rains down on you. She grabs you and dips you with a grin “Here comes your kiss, sweetheart!” Your silly, giggly kiss slowly melts into a warm, loving one

“I’m so happy that I got to spend this year with you! I wouldn’t wanna be with anyone else. Let’s kick 2021’s ass together, what do you say?”

Hizashi Yamada (Present Mic)

Hizashi is beyond excited to be spending New Years with you! He’s got all kinds of snacks dumped out into big ol’ bowls and soda in champagne glasses since he isn’t exactly the biggest fan of alcohol

His hair is down and the ‘Present Mic’ facade is gone for the night so you’ve really got Hizashi all to yourself :)

He has a whole playlist made of songs you guys enjoyed together throughout the year! He frequently pauses songs to reminisce with you ‘OH! Remember when we went to the beach and that kid totally face planted in the sand? This song was playing!’ He remembers these moments so clearly just cause he associates then with songs! There’s plenty of moments that he loves to remember

You two don’t tune into the countdown or the pre-countdown performances or speeches. Instead, you play Guitar Hero!! It gets so competitive that you find yourselves sweaty and out of breath by the end of the final game before you realize ‘oh shit! Thirty seconds to midnight!’

You fumble with the remote and just barely make it! “5...4...3...2...1! HAPPY NEW YEAR!”

Hizashi whoops and yells, pulling you into a sweaty hug ‘WOHOO!! This is gonna be our year babe I just know it!’

Before you can even get a word out he smushes your lips together. It isn’t exactly romantic or anything but you two are smiling and giggling like idiots anyways :)

Now that you’ve caught your breath...How about Guitar Hero round two? He’s not gonna go easy on ya this time!

Taishiro Toyomitsu (Fatgum)

Boy oh boy! You’re in for a fun night!!

Instead of staying in the whole day, you’ll be running all over the city together to pick up food from different restaurants so you can have a bit of everything together back at home! It’s mostly appetizers and little desserts :)

Back at home, you share your dinner while looking at pictures on your phones. Tai gets so excited when talking about his interns and coworkers. Looking back through these photos shows him how much they’ve improved in just a year! Wow!

He’ll also pull up horrible pictures of you just to mess around “What!? I like this one! Oh don’t give me that look- I’m not gonna delete it!!”

Once it starts getting dark you’ll curl up on the couch to flip through channels, maybe settling on a movie or crappy soap opera to watch until it’s time for the countdown

People are setting off fireworks before it even hits midnignt so the two of you make your way outside to watch from your balcony. Tai looks especially handsome all lit up under the colorful lights...He thinks the same about you too

That’s where you have your midnight kiss too, under the fireworks while people celebrate in the streets below. You can’t stay out there too long though! It’s cold!

Eventually you tumble back inside to dive back under your warm blankets on the sofa, hugging each other close

You don’t even know what time it is when you fall asleep but you’ll wake up in the morning to a super sore neck and Tai drooling on your shirt as he lays on you... Better take a picture as revenge for earlier! >:)

Keigo Takami (Hawks)

Keigo got stuck on patrol but that won’t stop him from coming home to celebrate anyway!

You get frequent texts from him letting you know where in the city he is. He’s desperate to get home cause you’re his one and only New Years kiss!!

You’re home alone until 11:30pm rolls around. You left the window for your shared apartment open so he could get in but you weren’t expecting him to fly full speed through the window!!

He nearly collides with the wall, quickly righting himself and throwing his arms up in the air triumphantly “Look what I got! Just for us, chickadee!” ...It’s a bucket of KFC. It is a tradition after all!

Keigo insists you sit while he fixes you a plate. You two usually don’t eat in the livingroom but tonight can be an exception!

He’s still in his hero costume, his feathers are disheveled from flying and there’s a smudge of dirt on his cheek. Not to mention, he’s absolutely tearing into a chicken breast. Wow...you really are in love, huh?

When you two are done with your feast, he clings onto you, resting his head on your shoulder while his wings curl around you “Sooooo....What was your favorite thing you did this year?”

“That’s a tough one. I got to spend so much time with you so...I’d say every day was my favorite!” And just like that you broke the poor guy :( he starts crying and kisses your cheek. He can’t help it!! He’s an emotional guy :( “Birdie :( I didn’t expect you to say thaaaatttt :(“

For the countdown, you sway side to side together with content smiles. Your New Years kiss is soft and sweet, a little short lived but oh well. You’ll get plenty more kisses later

You wipe the dirt and grease off of his face for him before he leaves again! And a playful slap on the ass for good luck ;)

“Hey!! Knock it off!” He’ll get you back when he comes back home :0

AN: sorry if u guys already saw this!! I posted it a few minutes ago and accidentally deleted it because my brain doesn’t work :/

Prompt: Jaskier's songs about Geralt are super popular in a small village they pass through, and all the children swarm Geralt wanting to hear about the monsters he slays. so Geralt reluctantly does so bc he's a big softie for kids. meanwhile, Jaskier is having an internal crisis bc its just way too adorable.

Jaskier wasn't planning to ever return to the small farming village, but it was on their path to Kaer Morhen, and he wasn't about to miss out on that opportunity. Jaskier had always been filled with an overwhelming wanderlust, and didn't stay put for too long, however, after the mountain incident, he found himself wanting nothing more than to just hole up in an off the map town somewhere, write legends about monster hunters, and be a bard, not Geralt's bard, just him, on his own. The irony that most of the songs he performed were about his adventures with Geralt was not lost on him, but still, he'd put that all behind him.

So, no, Jaskier didn't plan on returning to the no-name town where he spent far too many weeks sad and unmotivated, never performing anything new, fearing he would never leave, and die barely a footnote in the history books, but he did leave, and then Geralt found him, and he apologized, he explained, he promised to be better, so they traveled, and they fell back into familiar habits, and Jaskier let himself fall back into a quiet sort of love he couldn't escape even if he wanted to.

But that's unimportant, Jaskier spent more time in this town then he had anywhere since he left home at the tender age of 15, he recognized their surroundings as they approached the town, he saw the dawning familiarity in the eyes of the old man tending to the outskirt fields, and already, Jaskier felt too known.

To Geralt's surprise, Jaskier took the lead through the sparsely populated street, and led them to the towns only inn, and with a friendly greeting to the barmaid, Meredith, and a quick exchange of coin, they were holed up in a small room above the towns only tavern.

"Been here before?" Geralt asked, divulging himself of his bags

"Yeah, a while back." not totally a lie at least, Jaskier thought

"Hm, well, I need a drink, join me at the bar?" Geralt look satisfied enough with his answer

“No thanks, we were on the road for far too long without a bed, I could use a nap," truth is Jaskier couldn't deal with seeing to the butcher's twins, who must be, wow, who must be seven years old now, and he didn't want to think about the old spinster who came every day to see him perform, and had come down with something terrible before he left, or the mayor's son, and how he always looked at him with something in his eye too hungry to be simply friendship, he didn't want to be faced with things changing, moving on without him.

"here, and tell Meredith at the bar that I'll be down to perform later, she might give you a discount on your ale," Jaskier paused for a moment, and handed Geralt a pouch of coins before gracelessly flopping back onto the bed.

Jaskier busied himself in his notebook, and reorganized Geralt's bags, and restrung his lute, and did each and every menial task he had been putting off just to busy himself, Geralt had been gone for too long though, and it was only an hour or two off from sundown. finally allowing his worry to overtake his dread at facing any of the people, his friends, who he left without a word of goodbye. He decided to look for him.

He reluctantly made his way down the narrow staircase and saw more people than he was used to seeing in the tavern, Meredith noticed his presence and his confusion and gestured to Geralt, sat in what was once Jaskiers favorite corner booth. Jaskier was surprised to see Meredith's little sister, probably on her 12th winter by now, the butcher's twins, and three more children he recognized but was less familiar with, all sat at the booth with Geralt, Meredith just laughed and gestured him over.

"You sang so many songs about him that when you came Esbith recognized him right away, and went off to get her friends, they've been asking him questions about witchering for the past two hours, they've been asking him questions about you,"

"I... I've missed you, Meredith," and he did, though getting to know her in the first place was a regret of his, but the self-loathing could wait for another time, as there was something far more interesting happening in the corner booth

"I've missed you too you old crone, now, what's the deal with the witcher? not all of your songs were jaunty adventure tunes, I heard all of em, the heartbroken ones too Jask," she sounded accusatory while leaning across the bar into Jaskier's space

"After I left," he looked into her eyes and tried to convey whatever apology he could for leaving so abruptly, and took a breath, "shortly after I left he came to find me, it was a terribly romantic thing, we've been traveling together again,"

"romantic thing huh?" she seemed interested now, and raised her eyebrows at him,

"Oh not like that you witch, it was just more dramatic than I know him to be, and if I were a lesser man, I'd have confessed my feelings then and there, but you and I both know I'm a great man,"

"I'm holed up in this tavern all day and you don't have anything for me?" It was almost frightening how quickly they had slipped back into their dynamic, Jaskier entertaining her with tales from outside her provincial town and her always asking for more.

"Unfortunately no, he's kinder to me than he was before, but nothing that speaks of a dramatic longing for me," he replied, a bit too dramatically

"Have you asked?" That's another thing that hadn't changed, her unrelenting snark.

"I'm usually quite aware of these things Meredith,"

"Hmm, like how you flirted with me for a week until I introduced you to Rosine," oh god, Jaskier had made some truly terrible calls by way of romance before, but he thinks he had never barked up such a wrong tree so thoroughly.

"That was different!" he nearly shouted "I was in a very bad place!"

"He's looking over here," she pointed out with a tilt of her head, "Cmon go, he looks like a lost puppy,"

And he did a little bit, Esbith was braiding his hair, and one of the twins, Saidbh he thought, was pulling his sword out of Geralts sheath, and he was looking up at him with a silent pleading look in his eyes. With a parting insult to Meredith, he made his way across the floor.

"Esbith, my darling, how I've missed you,"

The young girl turned around in a flash and gasped loudly "Jaskier! Mary said you were here but I wasn't allowed to bother you,"

"Sorry dear, I've just spent so long traveling that I needed a bit of a rest, I'm glad you've been keeping my witcher here company"

She looked between Geralt and Jaskier, and leaned in to stage whisper in his ear, "mister Geralt is just like you described him to be," and then turned her attention back to braiding his hair,

after the brief aside, the other twin, Edin, maybe, waved her hand in front of Geralt's face, "Mister witcher you have to finish telling the story!" and Geralt's whole self softened for a moment before he launched back into what Jaskier recognized to be their last run-in with a siren. He noticed that Geralt was embellishing the story a bit. And he looked excited, even, to be entertaining his audience. Jaskier thought it was precious. Geralt rarely allowed himself to relax, especially in the presence of unknown townspeople, but over the years Jaskier had taken note of the soft place he held in his heart for children, he asked him about it once and Geralt told him it was because children were always more curious than afraid, that no one is born with hatred or fear, Jaskier also suspected it had something to do with the witcher being unable to have any children of his own.

It was truly a sight though, and seeing Geralt look even a little bit relaxed in a tavern in an unknown town, a place where he's usually so guarded, brought a feeling of warm fondness that calmed Jaskiers tender heart, even if Geralt didn't love Jaskier in the way he wanted him to, he was still Jaskiers best friend, and seeing him happy, entertaining children and being comfortable and happy, brought Jaskier so much joy.

Already Gone pt. 2

A/n: hi i finished this at three in the morning so if there’s typos and stuff come yell at me so I can fix it

It had been over a month since the break up when Grayson passed by the back door and heard Ethan on the with someone. When he heard who was on the other line he paused.

“But mom, what if… what if you only get one shot at love? What if she was the one and I blew it? What am I supposed to do?” Just from listening in Grayson knew his brother was close to tears.

Ethan never really wore his heart on his sleeve. He kept it hidden away because if no one can get close it meant he couldn’t get hurt. But he let you in and it hurt more than ever now that you were gone.

All the times he made fun of Grayson for thinking every girl he talked to was his soulmate, he finally got it. You were his and he could feel it.

For the first time in his life, he felt what he could only begin to describe as anger and hate towards his brother. Grayson was supposed to be his best friend, his biggest supporter, the person he could trust with anything and everything. But Grayson was the reason you left. Because he couldn’t at least be civil to girl he cared about with his whole heart.

Grayson couldn’t hear what their mom said to him, but Ethan hung up with a sigh. He knew he had to talk to you but there was a problem with that.

Grayson really didn’t know anything about you. He had no idea where you lived, where you worked, what your number was, he didn’t even really know your last name. Every time his brother would talk about you he pretty much tuned it out. The only thing he really knew was that you often liked to walk home after work because you said it gave you time to just think.

The only reason he knew this was because Ethan would often express his worry about you walking home alone at night and it’s something Grayson would never admit to worrying about too. He knew he would have to go through Ethan’s phone to at least find your number or anything that would help him talk to you.

It was a few days later after he heard the phone call when he had an idea.

“Hey do you mind if I use your computer really quick? Mines updating right now,” he knew Ethan’s contacts were synced up through the cloud so it should be easy for him to get your number.

“Can’t you just use your phone?” Ethan really hasn’t been in the mood to talk to his brother lately.

“No, now come on, please?”

“Fine.”

Grayson went in and saw that his brothers computer was already on. He quickly went through and found your number, glad Ethan hadn’t deleted it.

He also saw the internet tab was already open, just minimized so he opened it and saw another tab was open as well. He was a curious person by nature so he clicked on it, not knowing he was about to see something he never wanted to see.

Ethan was looking at houses for sale nearby. And by the looks of it, he found one.

Grayson couldn’t believe it. His brother was planning on moving and he never even mentioned it. What happened to their plans of getting houses on the same land together? Why would he be leaving?

“What the fuck are you doing?” Ethan walked and saw what his brother was looking at and quickly closed the tab.

“Me? What the fuck are you doing? You’re looking at houses Ethan! You’re just gonna leave and not say anything? Why do you even want to leave?”

“After everything, I think I just need my own space. Somewhere where I can bring someone over without you throwing a fit over it. We’re going to have to separate eventually Grayson, might as well get it over with.”

“Yeah, eventually! When we have wives and families! Not now!”

“How am I supposed to have a wife when you chased away the girl I care about huh? Can’t have a wife if I don’t have a girlfriend dumbass. So yeah, I think it’s time we separate.” Ethan really didn’t want to have this conversation.

“Ethan- no. Look I’m sorry, but please man… just don’t.” Grayson didn’t like how he had less time with his brother with you around but now he would so gladly take that over his big brother completely leaving him.

“It’s already done. You say you’re the responsible one out of the two of us. So grow up and accept it. It should be about another week while everything goes through then I’m gone. Now get out of my room.”

Grayson quietly got up and left the room. He knew he fucked up. He knew since he heard you two broke up but now knowing he fucked up to the point where his own brother didn’t want to live with him anymore hurt in a way he didn’t think was possible.

What he didn’t know was the full reason why Ethan wanted to leave. Yes, they were going to split up eventually but Ethan couldn’t be in that house anymore. Everywhere he went, it was like he saw your ghost.

Every time he walked into his room and saw the pink wall he just thought of how you teased him the first time you saw it and asked if he was planning on having a baby girl already. Every time he walked into the kitchen he saw you sitting on the counter because you couldn’t cook for shit but you were there for moral and emotional support. He saw you passed out on the couch taking a nap.

But he also saw you on that same couch with tears in your eyes saying you two needed to break up. Every time he walked into the house he remembered it as the spot where you two kissed goodbye for the last time.

Something Ethan never mentioned to anyone was just how committed to you he really was. You had been dating for ten months and he knew you were the one. You had put up with Graysons attitude that whole time and never made a big deal about it.

He had even started looking at engagement rings.

Maybe he was going too far too fast but he just knew you were it for him since the very beginning. So yeah, he had to get out of this house.

While Grayson was still trying to process everything, me knew he had to call you. He was even more surprised when you answered right away.

“Grayson? Is everything okay?” You had his number saved because you wanted to have it Incase there was ever an emergency while you and Ethan were together.

“Um actually I was hoping we could talk?” He didn’t know how you knew it was him calling but that wasn’t important right now.

“Grayson, I tried talking to you. It never goes well.”

“Please, just hear me out. After that I won’t bother you, but please?” He didn’t care if he had to beg you at this point.

“Fine. Meet me after work.” You told him where and when and he said he’d be there.

A few hours later you surprised him when you walked up to his car and tapped on his window. You could recognize his douchebag car anywhere. He unlocked the car and you got in the passenger side.

“So?” While before you had done everything to stay in Graysons good graces, you didn’t really care anymore. He got what he wanted. You were out of his and Ethan’s life. He’s taken enough from you.

“Y/n I’m sorry for how I was around you. I never gave you a chance and I know how shitty I was to you. Especially the last time we talked. But I can try and explain to you why.” He went on to tell you about how he was just scared of losing his brother even though rationally he knew that wasn’t happening. He also noticed you had lost a bit of weight and your eyes weren’t as bright as he remembered them being.

While he explained everything, while you didn’t agree, you could see where he was coming from. You knew going into the relationship that they were inseparable but there were other ways that Grayson could have expressed he wanted to spend more time with his brother.

So when he told you that Ethan bought another house and was planning on moving out, you couldn’t believe it. You had broken both of your hearts to keep the peace between them but it seems the pain was for nothing.

“No. Why didn’t you talk him out of it?”

“I tried but it was already too late by the time I found out. Please come back. And not just because of this but because I know he’s hurting. He has been since the night you left. And I can see you are too. If he still wants to leave, fine but I want him to at least be happy.” He could learn to be okay with his brother gone. But knowing his brother would be gone and possibly hate him was something he couldn’t live without at least trying to fix what he ruined.

Looking back on it, he should have seen how good you two were together. You both worked like a machine together, two pieces working in perfect harmony. You would support Ethan’s crazy adventures and he helped pull you out of your shell. But when Ethan went too far, you were there to keep him grounded. And now both of you were falling because of him.

“Is he home?” You asked after some thinking. You didn’t know if he would even want to see you but you knew you definitely wanted to see him.

“Yeah, he said he was going to start packing…” Grayson hated that sentence even coming out of his mouth.

“Well lets go then.”

A short drive later you found yourself sitting in the parked car outside the house. You didn’t think you would be this nervous about going in.

“Do you mind if I go first? Just to talk to him alone?” You asked Grayson quietly.

“Go ahead.” You got out of the car and went up to the door. You remembered the key code but you weren’t sure about just walking in so you knocked on the door. You could hear music coming from inside so you assumed he just couldn’t hear you. As you were about to knock even louder, it seems Grayson had a different solution.

Ethan was laying on his bed and taking a break from packing a few things when he heard an obnoxious honk coming from outside and he knew just from the sound it was Graysons car. Annoyed, he got up and went to the door but stopped when he saw you through the glass and he hesitantly opened the door.

“Hey E,” you smiled up at him.

“Y/n…” he immediately pulled you into a hug and wrapped his arms around you. It felt amazing to be back in those arms you missed so much but he was slowly crushing you.

“Killing me here,” you gently tapped his back so he would loosen up. “Let’s go inside yeah?”

The two of you sat down on the couch, right back where everything came apart the last time you were here, and you both just sat there not really knowing what to say.

“So Grayson called me and we talked.” Ethan raised his brows at that, knowing how his brother felt about you. “I know, I was surprised too. But he told me why he did what he did. It was a shitty excuse but I get it. He didn’t want to lose his big brother. But he also told me that’s what’s happening isn’t it?”

“And don’t give me that cop out excuse of saying it was going to happen eventually. Why are you pushing for it so fast?” You took his face in one of your hands and brushed your thumb over his cheek. He closed his eyes and leaned into your touch.

“I can’t be in this house anymore without you here. Everything reminds me of you and I just can’t Y/n.” He said it so quietly it was hard to hear.

“Can we try again? And not just because of all of this mess. Ethan, we were good together. I can work on things with Grayson, but please give us another chance?” You never wanted any of it to end but when it did you knew it was the worst mistake of your life.

“Yes,” He pulled your face to his and brought your lips together. He couldn’t even explain how much he missed you. How much he missed this.

He moved you so you were now straddling his lap, lips still connected. He kept his grip on you firm but gentle, scared that if he let go and opened his eyes you would be gone and this was all a dream.

“Are you guys done yet? It’s fucking cold out here,” The moment was interrupted by Grayson pounding on the front door. You two broke apart to see him standing outside and remembered that it was a somewhat cold night for California standards.

“Yeah get in here Gray,” Ethan waved him in while you got off his lap.

“So… are we okay?” Grayson asked his brother.

“We’re okay. But bro, if you ever pull some shit like that again I’m gone,” he warned him.

“I know, I know. Don’t worry,” he looked over to you. “Y/n, are we good?”

“We’re good. Just don’t be an asshole and we’ll be good.” Ethan couldn’t help but laugh at how more blunt you were being with his brother. Before you would tiptoe around him but now you were fully standing up for yourself and not taking his shit anymore. He was proud of you.

“Come on, get in here,” you opened up your arms to give him a hug. As you wrapped your arms around him you couldn’t help but realize this was the first time you two had ever hugged and felt your eyes water a bit.

“Wait, what’s wrong?” Grayson asked when he pulled away and saw the tears about to fall.

“Nothing, just… were finally all okay.” You smiled and felt Ethan wrap an arm around you. He let you go before and there was no way he was letting that happen again. He had everything he ever wanted in front of him and he wasn’t going to lose it this time.

[5:03 AM] after a long nap and hours of scrolling through instagram, you decide to drive to one of your favorite spots.

it was a place you showed donghyuck while you guys were dating up until a few months ago. you had been dating for six months at the time that you showed him the spot at the top of the small hill and he had been excited to stargaze with you all night and watch the sunrise early in the morning. those nights were filled with giggles and talks about nonsense. plenty of kisses and cuddles were shared throughout the night and into the morning before donghyuck would have to drop you off at home. this occurred for several months before the relationship came to an end.

on your drive to the spot, you thought it was pathetic of you. to keep the posts of you and donghyuck when he simply deleted them after you two had broken up. he had texted you the day after the breakup saying that he deleted all of his pictures and even sent you a screen recording of him doing so. it absolutely broke your heart thinking about the whole ordeal. tears started to well up in your eyes as you approached the bottom of the hill. they countinued building up as you slowly made your way up to the top.

the last person you expected to see was donghyuck himself. his eyes were closed as his back rested against a blanket layed out on the ground. a little hum filled the air, and you found yourself thinking about the times he had sang you lullabies at ungodly hours at this exact spot.

“y/n?”

you snap out of your trance and meet eyes with donghyuck, who was now sitting up, leaning back with his hands behind him. after a moment, you mumble a ‘sorry’ and back away to leave, but hyuck calls out your name again.

��you can stay with me.”

no, don’t do it y/n, you think, continuing to stare at hyuck. he gives you a small smile and you listen to the voice in the back of your head telling you to join him in the hopes of maybe getting back together again.

your steps towards him are slow and hesitant, and you take a seat on the blanket with him. a foot of space separates you two as you let your eyes trail to the fading stars above. it’s silent and you don’t want to say anything, afraid that the tears nipping at your eyes might fall and that your voice might give out. but it’s donghyuck who speaks first.

“i miss you. a lot.”

you feel yourself stiffen but you find the strength to just nod, feeling some warm tears run down your cheeks. too afraid to wipe at them, you continue watching the stars twinkle.

the silence is becoming unbearable and you give up on waiting for donghyuck to continue his train of thought.

“why did we break up?” you whisper, your voice breaking ever so slightly.

another wave of silence starts, and you suddenly feel the urge to disappear in thin air. but donghyuck sucks in a breath before speaking.

“jealousy. it was just jealousy,” he says, sighing to himself while turning to you. “and trust. i should have trusted that you weren’t cheating on me, but i fucked it up.”

a bitter chuckle slipped from hyuck’s lips as he turned away from you, playing with rip in his jeans.

“i should’ve known that you weren’t cheating on me with one of the guys... i didn’t trust you y/n, but you trusted me enough that you agreed that breaking up would be the best for the both of us. i’m sorry that i didn’t put my faith in you.”

you find the courage to wipe at your ruddy cheeks, sniffling and curling up into a ball a bit. donghyuck scoots a bit closer to you, letting his arm come up to wrap around you loosely as if afraid to hurt you. you lean into his touch, sighing and sniffling more.

“i missed you too, you idiot,” you mutter, burying your face into his neck.

donghyuck merely chuckles softly, lying back and slowly guiding you to lay on top of him, your cheek pressed against his warm chest. one of his arms is wrapped around your waist, his other occupied with rubbing your back as he hums a soft tune. your eyelids grow heavy as you listen to hyuck’s heartbeat, a smile playing on your lips. you reach back, lifting his hand from your back and lacing your fingers with his to the side.

the sun is slowly rising as donghyuck glances at you fighting to stay awake. his chuckles make you smile as you move your head to look at him, his eyes reflecting the same happiness from your shared nights together as yours.

donghyuck can’t help but let go of your hand to tuck some of your hair behind your ear, letting his palm linger against your cheek. you lean into his touch, quietly sighing in content. he grins, leaning up towards your face to connect his lips with yours. the two of you share a passionate kiss filled with the desire to stay together for a long time. you linger for a moment before you give hyuck another quick kiss, an uncontrollable smile taking over your lips while your forehead presses gently against his.

“i love you,” donghyuck mumbles under his breath, wrapping both of his arms tightly around you.

“i love you too,” you breathlessly reply, placing your hands on his chest before pressing you lips to his once again.

01.01.2020 - 𝐷𝑎𝑦 001

𝒚𝒆𝒔, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒐𝒇 2020.

i kind of burnt the midnight oil, which meant i stayed up very late. one of the longest nights i have been through.

of course i didn’t stay up that to study, neither to feel the specialty of the first day of a brand new decade (hell yeah, the 2020s). i was just waiting for his messages, his “happy new year” one in particular (“he” is not someone on which i am having a crush). besides, i was also busy wrapping up my 2019 in the note app, and reading danmei as well. sorry life and health, danmei is just too good to be skipped. so minutes passed and finally he replied to my previous messages, and until minutes later he told me “happy new decade”. i was not so happy, because he also said that to many other people. so i am not a special person to him though.

whatever, i was really upset, ‘thanks’ to him. after that, i decided to share all the notes i had written onto instagram story. okay that was not a really wise choice because what i had achieved in 2019 was not really a big deal, i mean not so spectacular to the others. but somehow i still received some praises and positive reactions from some of my friends, and a new one. he is a senior from my high school. well actually i had followed his instagram account for months but using my photography one, i officially followed his using my main account days ago. and he followed me back haha. yesterday i was really amazed at how patient he was as he read every line of my note and complimented me at the third story. gosh, i didn’t think he was that friendly and replied to my story since we were absolute strangers.

enough for that new guy. what affected me the most was my close friend, or i’ll call him by the pronoun he/him/his. so yeah, i kept trying to get his attention, and he did pay attention to me, but i was not satisfied. i was still distressed as hell. and i gave up. he was so ignorant. i decided to let him go and went to read danmei, though i sent him a message at 2:15am lmao, but i deleted it right away. at the end, i went to sleep at around 2:30.

i woke up so late, maybe at 9:00 or 9:30. sorry but i don’t remember if i had breakfast or not. i ate mi quang for lunch, and did some slides for my friends’ presentation. i asked them to pay 50,000vnd for the whole powerpoint tho. and i also composed a song. yeyy this was the first time i completed the chords for my song: c d am fm / c g am fm. it didn’t sound so bad haha. i was kinda proud. what i should do next was to come up with the melody and heart-broken lyrics tho.

i also played imvu with my friend june lol. but i didn’t have so much fun. i was snowed under with my youtube stuff as i hadn’t finished the remember forever lyrics and vietsub video yet. damn it. but it has been done by now.

and gosh, i suddenly remember that i had a dream about him while taking a nap this afternoon. due to him i woke up late after that!!!!! what a terrible dream.

today was full of ordinary thing. at night, i learnt geography for the upcoming final exam the following day. well as always, i didn’t focus. sorry life, again, mt fault. but we got the questions already. i was just afraid that the teacher would change them all. oh please don’t for god’s sake.

one more thing that made me feel down in the dumps was that the president of lac used my photos for her social media account stories without crediting me. well she used approximately 30 photos taken by me though. i am freaking not fine

what i had for dinner was also what i had for lunch. as for music, i didn’t listen to something specifically. i just tuned in some melody from psycho, in & out, remember forever and la rouge from the reve festival: finale. i also listened to eyes locked, hands locked and two moons, but not on purpose. they were all randomly picked for me by spotify.

it’s late now, and i think that’s enough for the first day of the month, the year and the decade. there was not so many special things, or actually, none. i might stop writing and go to sleep now (or should i read some chapters of than hy khuc first?)

The hour was dark but it was the only quiet she had gotten today. With Hicks and Brooke on the road and working and Rori being so pregnant, Lacey had a full house for the time being. The normal routine was the girls went with Hicks for part of the week and it was just one kid in the house but now they were dealing with all three at once. Lacey wasn't complaining about spending extra time, she was just exhausted doing it all on her own and working. With everyone asleep, she was finally able to sit down and answer emails for work and personal ones. Sifting through some clients and the large thread she had with Brooke keeping her updated of day to day occurrences, she spotted a name she hadn't seen in a long time. Spencer James was a woman she would never forget. The pair met under the most dramatic of circumstances but it forged an everlasting bond. Without Spence, Lacey wouldn't exist and vice verse after that one horrible night.

Reading through what she had been up to left her curious but relieved that she was settling into something resembling a normal life. The brunette female definitely had a story to tell so the normalcy of wife and motherhood was probably a welcomed relief. Hitting the reply button, she began to type.

She lives! Haha I know you're busy so I'll save you the nagging Mom act. I'm so glad to hear things are going so well. Honestly, if finances permit it? Stay home. Motherhood is a job in itself and far more rewarding than walking any beat as a cop. You shape little lives and get the 100% assurance of coming home at night. I worry about you, you know this. So all of what I just said comes from a loving place.

I'm okay. Busy as hell with all of my other coparents and wife doing their own thing. Hicks has been on the road for weeks, Rori is a high risk pregnancy and Brooke has been working non-stop on Scorpion. A business and three kids 24/7 may just kill me, haha but I'm living. I'm lonely as hell, I hate admitting it but I just wish I wasn't stuck in a really long episode of Lace plus 8 on loop. I need a break but admitting that makes me feel like a bad mother. Sigh. I won't bore you with my inner workings.

Please keep in touch. It's nice to know you're alive and kicking more than once a month.

The day was long with two kids under two, but Spencer absolutely loved it just the same. She wasn’t sure if she could possibly bring herself to return to working full time, though she knew the time to make that choice was quickly approaching. She’d been a cop for as long as she could remember and when she wasn’t, she was dreaming about being a cop. It was all she’d ever wanted and even if she did fuck it up at every turn, tarnish coating her badge the way it did at her own hand, there was a part of her that wanted to fly right. She hadn’t meant to get so far away from it all, but she had. Yet now there was a lot more on the line than just her reputation. There were two little boys that relied on her just as much as they did their father, and yet both Spencer and John could not issue assurances that they’d come home every night. The thoughts weighed heavy on the woman as she had maintained this lifestyle now for eight long months while her name was tossed around as a potential accomplice in the stabbing of her husband at her father’s hand. Spencer had nothing to worry about as she knew she hadn’t been involved this time, though it didn’t mean she wasn’t unnerved by what else they might find if they dug too deep. There was soot on her badge and blood on her hands, both of which had to stay under wraps if she wanted to see her boys grow up.

Late the next night, she woke up to River calling out in his bed just as he had the night before. Always calling for John, but yet this time she’d be the one to get him. Bringing the two year old downstairs, she turned on Paw Patrol on the downstairs television to let the little guy watch his show for a few minutes while she lifted her phone to check through emails and what not while she tried to keep herself awake until Riv was ready to go back down. There she’d find Lacey’s reply, far sooner than she’d expected to hear from her, yet it brought a smile to her features just the same. De ja vu as she was emailing her at about the same time the night before, creating something of a habit of this. She drew a deep breath at Lacey’s advice to put the badge down. She should’ve known that would be what she’d suggest, and in truth Spencer knew that was probably the right thing to do, but she also had a placement within that department that helped keep her own husband out of jail from time to time and to her it was just as important, though she’d never confess that to another soul.

‘Cakes?’ the little boy asked, thinking it was after seven in the morning instead of the early 3:30. “No, not yet, bud,” she returned, shaking her head as there was no way they were starting pancakes this early though it was his morning request each and every morning, one of the few words the toddler would actually say, though he wasn’t too sure he understood the ‘no’ he got in return. Rather quickly, he’d go back to his Paw Patrol, thankfully as it might buy Spence another twenty minutes before he’d make the same request again and she could only hope by then he’d be all danced out. Focusing back to the phone, she typed out her reply to the tune of the Paw Patrol theme song playing in the background.

Lacey Sheridan��

It was another day, another whirlwind for the blonde mother of three. The past week felt like a tornado for the dancer but somehow she kept afloat. She was coming off a mean hangover from the weekend at the Grammy’s and the 33 year old felt like she was running at half-speed. Today she spent the day at the park with her nephew and youngest son while the girls were off at school the two boys tired themselves into a nap in the midafternoon. They were four but still young at heart going out like lights leaving Lacey and her big house with the perfect amount of peace and quiet to cheat and check her e-mails like she said she wouldn’t do. Today was supposed to be relaxing but the work-house couldn’t help her compulsions.

After handling a few work e-mails, she began to look through her personal ones. She answered the usual back and forth between Brooke and her throughout the day; the rundown with the kids, how she was, etc. Lacey sighed as she concluded the written reply to her wife wishing that Brooke would be home more but knowing it would never happen. Brooke spent a majority of her life tamed by the company of the men she kept, the newly successful actress was at her peak and uncaring how of anything else. She was finally independent. Part of Lacey understood, but a larger part of Lacey was bitter because once again she was less important than anything else. It was an internal battle of insecurity she consistently faced alone. Thank God for a therapist or else she would have gone nuts.

The blonde scrolled down through the rest of her e-mails; deleting ads, replying to other friends around the dance world before landing on Spencer’s. She couldn’t help but smile at the expeditious response from her dear friend. It was unusual for Spence but it was welcomed. Reading through her words, she sighed. Once again, the brunette had given her the validation she felt she didn’t deserve. Despite her being her own worst enemy, Lacey truly appreciated Spencer’s admiration and kind words. Even if they didn’t sink completely, they definitely made the difference.

Hitting ‘reply’, Lacey began to type a response:

As long as you do that then that’s all I could ask. I know being a cop is a part of you just as much as John and those boys are, but sometimes you have to weigh your priorities and see what’s heavier on the heart.

You have no idea how much I appreciate you saying that. Most days I barely feel like I’m skating by with managing my own dance studio, two elementary school level kids’ schedules, and a rowdy four year old who only listens to his “Baby” as he calls Brooke. Lillian and Bella are 7 and 8 years old so for the most they entertain themselves. They are already so exposed to the back and forth, it’s second nature. With the exception of a few fights between sisters I have really great kids with them. My little guy Ryan is my handful. He’s got so much energy and he doesn’t know what to do with all of it. He’s really attached to Brooke and I honestly think he’s got some abandonment issues with her. She’s been working since he’s really young so he feels very needy with whatever little time he gets from her. For the most part it’s a system at works but of course there are kinks along the way.

I wish we could get alone time but with Brooke working Scorpion full-time and involved in press junkets and music, it’s impossible. It’s honestly fucking lonely but I’m dealing. I love her so it’s hard not to want to make things work. Eight years of up and down, up and down. I’d love to just standstill for once.
