It’s fine, it’s totally fine. It’s just a box, he’s fine. Just a box, that he can barely move in. It’s fine the lid’s not even shut that tight he just has to wait til he gets there and then he can hop out and let everyone else in it’s FINE.

Gods it’s not though. Kris is curled up tight in the box, breathing as quietly as he possibly can while the airship drifts lazily across the canyon below. He’s a zillion miles up and he stopped being able to feel his legs hours ago. The slightest sound from this piece of shit box and he could be out on his ass, falling to his death, and he couldn’t even try to run away from that.

It’s fine. It’s just another couple hours. He bites down on the first knuckle of his thumb, letting the pain distract him from the horrible tingling that’s replaced his legs.

🏡 Storge - Who does your character consider family? Which of their family do they love the most? Why?

Dray is known to consider anyone family, anyone he can draw into his loving, fatherly, clutches. He is patient, he will wait for you to come around if you resist. You are family now.

Dray loves his family equally, I don’t think he has it in him to love any one person more than another. He loves openly, and will give his love to whomever he can. Some would say he gives too much of himself.

🍑 Eros - What physical aspect of another person does your character love the most? What physical aspect would innitially draw your character to a person?

For physical aspects… Tall. Strong. Could pick him up like he weighs nothing more than a couple of grapes. The man might have a bit of a size kink ngl. However that is not always a deal breaker as he is very much drawn to assertive and dominant personalities.

The wings are because when he’s in Dragon Form, his wings have feathers!! I’ve always envisioned Dragons with the traditional bat-like wings but I love Angie’s fluffy wings!!!! I want to pet

The ears are because Thiago has some beautiful heckin’ long ears that kind of look like a fox’s. In reality, they’re quite a bit longer than fox ears but I couldn’t find a suitable picture with the right length ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The cute little freckle picture is because Thiago is a wonderful little boy who has spots that look like freckles and he is a smiley ray of sunshine

Cat tail not just for his tail (although mainly for his tail) but because he lowkey has cat tendencies. He is cuddly and cute and soft and LOOK AT THE PICTURE OF THIAGO BEING HELD LIKE A LONG CAT. LOOK AT IT. I can also see Thiago sitting with his tail curled around him like that. 

The linked pinky picture is mostly because of him and @clockworknightmares​ ‘s Dray but also because he’s kinda the collective son of every whumper on this site.

20. In what ways does your character compare themselves to others? Do they do this for the sake of self-validation, or self-criticism?

nadeem compares himself to other djinns, and at this point, always finds himself lacking. he’s not obsessed with restoring his own honor and regaining respect, but he’s very aware of just how pathetic and dirty he is in the eyes of his brothers. self-criticism for sure.

33. In the face of criticism, is your character defensive, self-deprecating, or willing to improve?

depends on the source, and on how downtrodden nadeem is at the time. if it’s coming from another djinn, nadeem is likely to take it without argument and be visibly weighed down. if phoebe were to criticize him, or any paladin really, he would be surprised and ashamed and take it as something he needs to work on immediately. 

35. How does your character behave around people they like?

slow, pensive, relaxed, curious. when he doesn’t have to be carefully formal (which he used to be out of habit, and which he now is out of stress over letting others see that he doubts himself), nadeem likes to do things like make small trinkets out of glass, listen to the stars, and tell/hear stories. he’s very relaxed if he sits cross-legged and tilts his head to the side a bit as he listens to someone talk. in public with someone he likes, nadeem will stick close by their side, introduce them to others as his friend, and share gifts presented to him with his friend. if it’s just an acquaintance that he’s fond of, nadeem will offer them wisdom, ask for their perspective on something, or wish their family good tidings. he might dip his head forward in a bit of a respectful nod if he’s interacting with someone elderly, or a protector (such as a warrior, teacher, or parent). he always notices acts of goodwill between people, and makes eye contact with the generous one, giving them a bit of a smile because he’s seen lots of suffering caused by humans, and he’s grateful for every time that they show him they are also capable of great good.

🍄 What are your OCs favourite snacks? Their favourite comfort food which always cheers them up when they’re down? Favourite meal to make? Do they enjoy baking and cooking and are they any good in the kitchen?: Kris loves fancy pastries, especially made with apple or other fruits! His favorite comfort food is a warm apple pie. He’s no cook, but he can make a brown sugar and cream cheese dip that he’s pretty proud of.

🍂 Does your OC enjoy hugs? What do they do as a show of affection for: their friends, their family, their significant other(s) or for strangers? Over all what are they like with recieving affection from others?: He’s huggy with certain people! Loves getting affection from Iris, likes hugging Lettie sometimes. He gives presents and snacks. Getting gifts or affection flusters him.

💐 How does your OC handle being unwell or forced to rest in bed? Who cares for them and in what ways? Does your OC enjoy being doted on or are they a terrible patient? Reversed: is your OC good at taking care of others who are ill or in need?: Phoebe hates when she’s forced to get bedrest. She likes doing stuff, and if she’s injured enough to require a long rest she gets restless and grumpy. She’s probably under the care of a Paladin physician, or her best friend Nadeem ( @friendlylocalwhumper‘s djinn OC) if she’s in the field. She is The Worst Patient. Reversed, she’s a good caretaker, but still learning how to do it well!

🌺 What does your OC do to calm down when they’re scared or after a nightmare? Do they have any special comfort items or need to be reassured by a specific person? How do they handle this if they’re alone?: Phoebe communes with her Siblings, usually, or gets comfort from Nadeem. Since Paladins aren’t supposed to have dreams or nightmares, if she’s had one, she has to commune with them and discuss what it means. Their reassurance helps a lot. And she’s never alone! But if she got cut off, she’d just try very hard to talk herself down from the fear.

Note: Most of this will be traditional art because I don't have anything good for digital art. I'm a beginner artist so I'm not all that confident in my drawing. In saying that, if you are looking for a drawing please don't be expecting the best of the best. I may not get around to drawing your ocs, and I'm really sorry about that if you end up waiting for one and it never comes up.

i love this kind of positivity so much, especially since we love hearing about our ocs and sharing about them! i’d like to add some that i love if you don’t mind!

@crash-bump-bring-the-whump​‘s william and daniel. these two are opposites in many ways, and the contrast contributes so well to the sheer horror that is tied in with will’s whump! will is soft, empathetic, patient, and able to accept his position and suffer however he is called to in order to survive (and yes, even someone who’s technically already died needs to put work into surviving, staying sane and able to function); daniel is a massive, powerful archangel who may as well be a manifestation of machiavellianism and who studies humans by experimenting coldly and eagerly on them. william is his favorite test subject (”assistant”), and seeing him “work with” william is utterly chilling. poor will!

@wildfaewhump​‘s iesin and talvos. lord, let me count the ways that these two ocs have wrecked my heart. iesin is a wild, passionate, wary fae who’s been tortured and experimented on to the point that he sees humans as a potent threat; talvos is his beloved, a human who was trained to be efficient in every way possible, even in facilitating torture. they’re in love, they’re broken in different ways and learning to heal together. both willing to kill and fully capable of it, they choose to try to live a peaceful life and avoid the hatred reserved for pariahs by minding their own business and carving out a humble life for themselves. everything in their story is raw and intricate and nuanced. it feels like it’s made out of love and pain and halting, nervous hope.

@sweetwhumpandhellacomf​‘s willow and grackle. these two!!! these two are so good. classic love right here. willow is a gentle, diligent, soft physician who radiates safe home vibes, and grackle is a silent, flighty, scarred ex-assassin who essentially curls around his sweetheart and protects him at all costs when danger approaches. these two follow a theme of a grackle (a bird) and a willow tree (which is the home of the bird), and the metaphor is upheld by each of their stories, especially when grackle is triggered or still in captivity, and willow is a clear symbol of hope and safety and refuge. my favorite drabbles with these two are the ones where grackle is injured and unfocused and panicky, and willow holds him, careful always with his touch and volume, coaxing grackle into settling down and letting himself be tended to.

@just-horrible-things​‘s tacitus. i’m still learning about this guy, but man is he messed up! so thoroughly conditioned, so guilt-ridden and ashamed of his sins and eager to please. his hands are severely scarred and damaged from torture, he’s painfully thin, his mind is assailed by his own thoughts about being a heretic, filth, worthless - it makes you want to comfort him and encourage him to rest, but all he wants in the world is to serve and please his captors! there’s some kind of strength and determination in him even if it’s disguised by his brokenness, and i’m determined to see how this shows throughout his time being tortured!

@mielosastuff​‘s thiago. sweet gentle soft dragon boy who wants cuddles and ear scritches and food, but mostly he’s just full of self-hatred and gets hurt because he’s a weakling, a runt, a symbol of everything a dragon shouldn’t be. he’s literally the cutest thing in the world, and after he’s been made all bloody and broken and tearful, it’s so nice seeing him get hugged and cuddled and told that he’s worth saving by his best friend alma (a badass, scarred, loving lady whom i also love a lot!)

@whump-sprite​‘s anders. he’s tough, reliable, and grumpy. one of lux’s best friends, anders is a weary warlock who survived horrific torture ten years ago and who now lives with ptsd, chronic pain, and addiction. he’s so gorgeous when he’s moaning and pleading with his mistress (maura, may she rest in peace), and when he’s fevered or when he’s fallen on his bad leg. anders would kill to save a fellow warlock, and would face the risk of being caught and tortured by the hunter just to save lux, which of course earns him a thousand bonus points in my heart. scarred like nobody’s business, very angsty and 100% ready to call you on your bullshit, anders reyan is the snarky, furious whumpee of your dreams.

@clockworknightmares’s Dray. So, I might have gone on a long ass binge this morning reading legit everything posted about him. Love his design, love his story, I love your side characters in his stories.

@theleastmemorablequeer’s Rayet. Rayet is one of the first OC’s I stumbled upon back when I made this page, and I love him so much. I honestly wish I saw more of him!

@straight-to-the-pain’s Sam. My first name is Sam, so I will readily admit I treat some of your stories like self-inserts, but honestly, I love them.

@whumpfish’s Avedis. I’ve only read one thing about her, but she’s honestly great. From what I’ve gotten to read, which admittedly isn’t as much as I would have liked, I really like her. One of my very few lady whumpees that I enjoy.

@robins-whump’s Finn. Finn is another whumpee that I have shamelessly binged [though not in awhile, unfortunately], and I highly suggest reading about him. Robin even has a master list for him [because they’re more organized than I will ever be].

@whumpandbandaids’s Ronan. So, there is but one fic that I have seen for Ronan, but he’s a little bundle of torment so far, and I was so, so excited to read about him.

@friendlylocalwhumper’s Marlow. Honestly, Marlow/Christian, whichever name you want to use, I love his story and I love how you write him.

@wildfaewhump and @ashintheairlikesnow have been shadowbanned repeatedly. @redstainedsocks, @straight-to-the-pain and @albino-whumpee are blogs I know which are currently shadowbanned and/or not appearing in search results.

Other whump blogs I recommend include original content writers: @whumpiary, @that-one-thespian, @crash-bump-bring-the-whump, @raigash, @for-the-love-of-angst and @sweetwhumpandhellacomf (with varying levels of activity between them).
