Cohmac Vitus’s lightsaber made with spalted beech, padauk, and panga panga, with an oak stand.

This one was fun, with a bunch of carving and a slightly dodgy drill press clamping system which may have exploded a little the bit the piece itself was fine so all is good. I like the bright red/orange of the padauk and I think it works quite nicely as an accent colour against the other woods. I also used panga panga in Reath’s saber and I thought it was nice to have some continuity between master and padawan.

Midnight Horizon and The Fallen Star both end with the destruction of Starlight Beacon but they take different perspectives of it. The Fallen Star ends in a very dark note with Marchion's claim while Midnight Horizon has a more hopeful perspective with Reath becoming a Jedi Knight.

If we add the epilogue of THR Adventures with Lula fighting in Starlight, Phase I basically ends saying that, even though everything seems lost, as long as there is someone that keeps fighting there is hope for the galaxy.

Gosh so I'm about halfway through Tears of the Nameless and I swear if Cohmac dies I'm going to riot. This poor guy went through so much, and finally took steps he needed to heal after hitting rock bottom at the end of Midnight Horizon. It was clear what his decision was going to be there, with Kantam's story and all, but I was hoping that he would choose to be a Wayseeker like Orla. But he clearly needed the time to himself, even if the galaxy hasn't been particularly kind to anyone. And now he's come back to see Reath struggling to stay afloat, like he once was? How he apologizes for how he unintentionally hurt him with his decision. But he still cares, always did. Cohmac is still crawling out from his rock bottom, but he's tossing rope down so Reath's low point won't be as bad as his. I hope Reath opens up to him about his struggles. I hope Cohmac doesn't die right after that. These two deserve to see a peace after the Nihil are defeated. They deserve to study whatever they want, without the weight of the galaxy on their shoulders. And my goodness is it so good to see them supporting each other as they walk towards that inevitable future. Pleeeeease don't die, because my poor Paddy-turned-Knight characters have gone through hell and deserve some good.
