I love how striking your character designs are!! And feel free to ignore this, but I’d love to see moonwatcher in your style!
I will never ignore this! couldn't decide which I liked better so here's both.

Two People Of the Midnight Sun guarding a snared hare against a juvenile sunsinger, a wolf sized mustelid that lives as an ambush predator and opportunistic scavenger in the arctic tundra and gets its name from the male's yowling calls during the springtime breeding season.
These people primarily manufacture small knives for skinning prey and bloodletting their host animals, and do not have weapons capable of dealing with large predators. Their primary defense in this situation is the tried and true predator mitigation strategy of puffing up and making a lot of noise. Like their caelin/delkhin relatives, polar caelin have gular sacs that amplify their calls, primarily used for long distance communication and song but also adequate for making a general cacophony.
This sunsinger physically outmatches its foes by a long shot, but is hesitant to get any closer to a pair of loud, unfamiliar, and seemingly fearless opponents, and quite frustrated about this whole situation. It will most likely walk away from this confrontation hungry rather than risk a physical altercation, particularly when reinforcements from these people’s clan hear all the yelling and come to dive bomb the shit out of it.

haha what if the sign name your best friend gave to you meant "purple butterfly". what if you kept getting gifts with gentle buttefly motives as a nice gesture because everyone knows they mean a lot to you. what if you inevitably became the moth drawn to a flame. what then

I recently got my hands on the DVD of Alptraum im Airport/Midnight Flight, a TV movie from 1998 featuring Giovanni Ribisi about a woman stranded overnight in a German airport and being targeted by terrorists after witnessing one of them sabotaging a plane. It was filmed in Germany and Belgium and while it was originally in English, it was only released on DVD in German.
Before now I was only able to find and rip a low quality version on youtube with the original audio but the DVD, while not having an English audio track (or even a menu) is a major upgrade in visual quality as you can see when compared side by side, it's clearer, more saturated, has a higher level of contrast and detail, and most importantly is not awkwardly cropped.
There are some odd choices made by the voice actor providing Giovanni's German dialogue, in some scenes they seem to be trying to make the delivery more subtle or lowkey but given how strange and over the top the original script and performance can get when dialogue gives way to grunting, screaming, and gagging, the contrast just makes it even stranger. There are moments where the absurdity of the writing and Giovanni's over the top performance make any kind of restraint a non-option but the voice actor seems unsure of how to match his theatrics so the end result is like a baffled, self conscious imitation of unhinged overacting. When Giovanni is waving a gun and shrieking at the man i can't decide which version of the audio is funnier.
There are also some editing changes like when Giovanni's character is killed it's much more gruesome in the original. The DVD version shortened the scene, cut out most of the blood and the severed thumb, and the voice actor once again tried to tone it down by omitting the screams and paring down the choking noises but like in previous scenes, the end result is just odd.
It was pretty interesting seeing how different the two versions are and seeing it in its highest available resolution all these years later. The DVD I ordered came sealed and in pristine quality so I'm not sure when it was released, most likely some time after the film aired on TV, but even then it's just been sitting unsold and forgotten somewhere for maybe 20 years. The English audio in its original quality is probably lost to time but I'm planning on digitising the DVD version and transplanting the ripped version's audio onto the higher res video so that both spoken versions exist with decent picture quality.

i think a reason i like the cmercenary confrontation so much is because cpurpled is right in every way. and it just really highlights what’s simultaneously one of my favorite things about him and one of the most infuriating ones—he’s an over-confident arrogant asshole who flies too close to the sun. but also. he’s an over-confident arrogant asshole who can genuinely back up his claims
punz tries to belittle him by saying there’s no way purpled could hurt them, but it doesn’t phase him. purpled’s confident that he could beat punz in a fight, and he’s likely right—punz was a good fighter, sure, but purpled easily outskilled him in agility
punz tries to pull the dream card—obviously, he’s the most feared person on the server—but it doesn’t work. purpled only insults dream, calling him a coward for not being there himself, to which punz can only utter out a weak retort
punz tries to get the upper hand by saying they’ve been investigating quackity, but all they have to show for it is the “reveal” that slime is quackity’s biggest weakness. yeah, no shit, purpled found that out literally on day 1
punz insists purpled needs their help, but purpled continuously insists he doesn’t need anyone’s input. and he’s likely right. his original plan seems to have been killing slime in front of quackity again, which would’ve accomplished everything he wanted—to make quackity hurt the way he hurt when he lost his UFO. he emphasizes he could physically kill quackity at any point (not a flex, honestly, a fruit fly could), but it’s not what he wants, truly. and i do think he could’ve done it. if dream and punz didn’t get involved, didn’t create this whole scheme to “brainwash” slime, purpled could’ve easily found another way to trap quackity and kill slime in front of him once more
but!!!! despite it all. purpled needs to prove his superiority. he needs to be in control, and above all else, needs to be a dramatic little bitch. so he goes along with it anyways, even though he knows he doesn’t need to. because he can’t help himself. because what is an icarus that doesn’t turn towards the sun.
