It's a drive. 2 hours. But it's barely 6pm by the time Tommy is arriving where they need to be.

Perhaps this van is known here. But the van Micah and Tommy once showed up in some however long ago is older now. The paint is new with a bumper sticker advertising Tommy and Hazel's restaurant. But the inside shows the wear. Claw marks from adventures gone wrong, suspicious stains from Tommy trying to brew something up in the back while Hazel commits some of her well known moving violations...

And like the car, Tommy is wearing a new coat of paint. She's taller, older looking, dressed more subdued than normal. There is no pink blazer, no silk-striped shirt. She is dressed in dark colors, ready for this to be a mass funeral. To mortals passing by, she gives off a somewhat menacing aura. Now, this is not a careful application of Presence, but an unease caused by an experimentation in the development of her Magnum Opus.

On the inside she has changed, too. More confident, more sure of herself. And more physically: she has a pouch of magic holding a day's worth of sunlight.

It was a mistake often made to underestimate the Duskborn. Visions of the Sun danced in her head, the magic begging to be unleashed. Tommy hoped not to have to use it on friends, but friends come second to family. No Kindred would stand long in her way from retrieving Hazel Blanke and the Sunlight begged to be released.

Tommy opened the door to where she believed she was instructed to go and stepped inside.

A present arrives for the Seneschal. Inside is a small tin of about 24oz amd a heart-shaped box each decorated with a symbol of an incomplete pentacle interlocked with an inverted triangle: the alchemical symbol for water.

If Fina opens the box, the inside is outlined in a dozen chocolate covered cherries and a small note which read:

Dear Fina Motisi,

I know you said you were wary, but remain wary you may. Feel free to share these morsels with others if you don't feel comfortable partaking yourself. They each feature a light enchantment, nothing too complicated. After consuming one, you will be able to eat and enjoy regular food with the normal limitations of our art. Namely, that the effect wears off with your (or whosoever-you-choose-to-share-with's) next proper feeding.

In the tin, you can find a food supplement. Adding one ounce of the contained material per 8 oz of simmered coconut water will provide a sustenance through your family curse, courtesy of my own family's curse. Further, this will produce and be flavored like a hot chocolate, best served in a warm mug while thinking of home.

So for April art, I worked on something big. 4 pieces based on my favorite Slayer albums, featuring rivals from Pokemon in my style.

Gary/Blue - Hell Awaits

This was a blast to make throughout the month, and I’m glad I did something like this!
