Middle Fork Snoqualmie River, Washington, U.S.A.
Humans are born wanderers. Don't tell me you don't wanna veer sharp left off this trail and get lost for 30 days. I fucking know you do, deep down. You love it.

Gateway Bridge, Middle Fork Snoqualmie River. I knew it existed but hadn't seen it until today. It's an amazing suspension bridge completed in 1995 and resurfaced in 2019. Jack Christiansen who designed the King Dome did the design gratis. People camped out for a week to protect the 30K lbs. of materials donated by Weyerhaeuser and a helicopter was used to fly in sections.

Second “hike” back after breaking my ankle in November. We opted for the ADA trail along the river rather than the slightly more ambitious Mount Garfield, but maybe next week? — 📍On the lands of the Snoqualmie people. — #nativelands #snoqualmie #mountains #rivers #winter #valley #hiking #adventure #rehab #brokenankle #blueskies #washington #middlefork #pnw #pacificnorthwest #garfield #ihatemondays #snow #cold #outdoors #outdoorslife #home #itfeelsgood (at Middle Fork Snoqualmie) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm_8GmfJWaN/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Middle Twin Falls by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: After a little under an hour of hiking through the woods and around the nearby hillsides of Olallie State Park, a friend and I finally got to this overlook point for what we later found was the middle of the Twin Falls (on a side note, the Lower Twin Falls is definitely the treat for any image captured). To compose the image, I decided to pull back on the focal length as I felt the lush green and yellow vegetation and plant-life best complimented the waterfall to my front. In metering, I decided to use the waters rushing by at the waterfall and then use Capture NX2 to bring out with control points and color control points the shadowed areas of the setting.

This short clip of a rounded ring of ice spinning on the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River in Washington was one of the most popular videos shared on Social Media this week. Ice disks like these are thought to form either by ice that gets caught in an eddy in a river and is compacted into a circle while the water swirls, or ice that gets caught in an eddy as a sheet and then is rounded by collision with surrounding ice. The fact that there is an outer layer on this disk makes me think that outer layer has been accreted to the spinning disk as ice fell into a stationary eddy in this case.
