Mighty Gevurah is associated in the soul with the power to restrain one’s innate urge to bestow goodness upon others, when the recipient of that good is judged to be unworthy and liable to misuse it. As the force which measures and assesses the worthiness of Creation, gevurah is also referred to in Kabbalah as midat hadin (“the attribute of judgment”). It is the restraining might of gevurahwhich allows one to overcome his enemies, be they from without or from within (his evil inclination). Chesed and gevurah act together to create an inner balance in the soul’s approach to the outside world. While the “right arm” ofchesed operates to draw others near, the “left arm” of gevurah reserves the option of repelling those deemed undeserving. (Even towards those to whom one’s initial relation is that of “the left arm repels,” one must subsequently apply the complementary principle of “the right arm draws near”).
-
Gevurah or geburah (גבורה) is the fifth sephirah in the kabbalistic tree of life, and it is the second of the emotive attributes of the sephirot. It sits below Binah, across from Chesed, and above Hod. Gevurah is 'the essence of judgment (DIN) and limitation, and corresponds to awe and the element of fire,'[1] In the Bahir it is written "And who are the Officers? We learned that there are three. Strength (Gevurah) Is the Officer of all the Holy Forms to the left of the Blessed Holy One. He is Gabriel." Gevurah is associated with the color red.[2]
-
In the Bahir it says:
"What is the fifth (utterance)? Fifth is the great fire of God, of which it says 'let me see no more of this great fire, lest I die (Deut 18:16). This is the left hand of God"
The numerical value of Gevurah, 216, is 6 times 6 times 6. The tablets of the covenant that Moses received at Sinai were 6 by 6 by 6 handbreadths. The Torah was given to Moses and Israel from "the Mouth of the Gevurah."
Gevurah = 216 = 3 times 72 (chesed). Each of God's 72 hidden names possesses three letters, in all—216 letters. Meaning inheres to words and names. The ultimate "meaning" of every one of God's Names is His expression of love (chesed) for His Creation

Observer to sue INEC over Kaduna guber poll
Tumblr media
Former assistant secretary of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Midat Joseph, has threatened to sue the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), if the real result of the Kaduna governorship election is not uploaded on the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV) within one week. The election observer and publisher of Kakaki Reporters described the Kaduna gubernatorial election as a charade, stating that different election results were uploaded on the IREV. Addressing journalists in Abuja yesterday, Joseph called for the prosecution of the perpetrators of electoral fraud, insisting that INEC should review the entire results of the election in Kaduna. He observed that Kaduna people’s votes did not reflect in the IReV, as the certified copies with political parties’ agents were entirely different from what the commission uploaded. He said: “The commission should review the results because it is the INEC staff that are aiding politicians to rig the elections. In Makera Ward of Kaduna South Local Council, soldiers took over the collation centre and journalists were denied entrance.” “This country must be salvaged because many people may no longer want to vote if this kind of injustice is allowed to stand. This crime cannot be allowed to go freely. If such injustice is not addressed, I will go to court to ensure that those who perpetrated such evil are prosecuted.” According to him, irregularity is spread across more than 20 polling units in the Kaduna governorship and House of Assembly election results. “If this democracy must thrive, the sanctity of the ballot must be upheld at all times. We cannot continue this violation of democracy and expect a better society. Those, who perpetrated this crime against our democracy must not be allowed to escape the long arm of the law. I choose to speak because of my strong belief in a better Nigeria. We can’t get things right by keeping quiet in the face of lawlessness. “I plead with INEC to do the needful by reviewing the Makera Ward results to reflect the wishes of the electorate,” Joseph added. Dear Tyko,
See, that level of self-conscious analysis of everything you've been making in the last two years is why I don't want to tell Tiriel. Niko isn't the sort to worry about things that aren't true, so something must be going on, but I'm still genuinely baffled, and as Maliah said, in tones of great despair, everything feels like a clue, so it follows that nothing feels like a clue. But if Tiriel mentions any big projects, maybe commissions where she's given a lot of freedom for her own ideas, keep an eye on them? And the same for you and Alma. Again, if people were in immediate and active danger from whatever is going on, I think Niko would have told us, biasing our observations or not, so whatever is happening, you shouldn't be in danger.
That being said, thinking about this problem has consumed a lot of my time since I wrote. We stayed another few days on Mir, waiting for replies to some messages and taking the kids out for lunch when they came up to the station for the schoolday (it's been a little less than a month this time, and it's nice to be able to see them more frequently, even if for obvious reasons we had to fudge a little bit of the story, since honesty is one thing and telling them spy secrets is completely another).
I'd sent messages to Midat and to Nuli, asking Midat about her new creative project and where she got the idea, and Nuli about crafter ballads, most particularly recent ones. Midat was happy to tell me plenty. Whatever is different, if anything is, I don't know if she's noticed it—I thought maybe it was because it was a commissioned piece and not all of her own inspiration, but then something about that was nagging at me just today, and I remembered the letter where Brennu had mentioned it, and when I went to reread it, he called it her “innovative inspiration,” which makes me think it was more her than Tokva Zahin. And got my eye on the combination of innovation and inspiration.
On the other hand, Nuli did mention that crafter ballads tend to not get written until the crafts and their makers are a bit more solidified in the folklore, and that there are distinct sub-genres of the overall genre. The ones with a lowercase “C” are about crafters and crafters, great and wonderful ones, innovative or otherwise standout, but the ones with an uppercase one are more specifically about visitations from Reorx. When I queried Niko, asking if we should be looking into crafter ballads about the past, wondering if whatever is going on is cyclical or otherwise repeating. She doesn't think it's cyclical, but she did imply that maybe the lowercase ballads could give us examples of the kind of thing we're looking for, so I'll be taking a dive into an archive of some crafter ballads sometime soon.
And with all that spinning around our heads, Maliah and I headed off to Iriossis. I was worried I wouldn't be able to aim well, having only spent a day there a year ago, but it worked, and I even ended up right in the port of Dolfindr, the city we were in last year, right where I wanted to be. We appeared out of nowhere, causing some serious surprise to those nearby, in the local afternoon, and it's early in the festival. We found ourselves some hotel rooms, got some information from the hotel clerk about how to find some music and a general overall schedule of events (though it's a very informal festival), and headed out.
We wanted to finish discharging our duty to Athan and Delthi, and Athan assured us Rannon would eventually figure out she isn't with us anymore if I got in a public enough performance, so I kept an ear out for music and found a man doing a drum-and-chant style I've only heard a few times, but with a few familiar tunes I've picked up on my rounds around. He was happy enough to have me join in, and we had an absolutely beautiful half hour of tossing notes back and forth before a few musicians took me up on an invitation to join, and it was overall so much fun. I'm hoping that, as long as we're around, I can find a bit of time for some public music every day, whether on my own or with someone else, just because of how often I'm out in the wilderness trying not to make noise and attract attention.
Anyway, when we finished up, the first drummer introduced himself as Tharkar and we exchanged some compliments before I found Maliah again and we went off to enjoy the festival and start looking out for some craft stalls, after stuffing ourselves with a lot of delicious food. It was late afternoon by then, and we wanted to mostly catch people while they're fresh, especially the most busy stalls, but we sat down for a bit and kept an eye on some nearby stalls, looking to see who looked the most social, and eventually settled on a halfling woman selling beautiful colorful quilted bags.
She was happy to answer any and all of our questions, about her bags and her craft in general, though I don't know that I found anything too relevant to Niko's mystery in our conversation. She keeps herself busy sewing lots and lots of bags, and they're beautiful, she's clearly an expert in her craft, but if she's trying anything new and innovative lately, she didn't share it with us, and asking something so odd seemed likely to lead to confusion over anything else. She's said she's gotten increasingly busy as time has passed and she's worked on her craft, but the problem with some sort of positive impact on crafters, which thus far this seems to be, is that, well. The more dedicated and passionate people are about their work, the better they tend to get, and the more ideas they tend to have, and the more people seem to love and support their work, so figuring out unusual levels of that is difficult to estimate.
Either way, Maliah and I both left with some bags that should see us through some of our adventures that involve a bit less wilderness.
After that, thinking about Midat's screen system, and a little bit about my gloves, I wondered if maybe we should go looking for a stall with a show piece there to pull people in, a labor of lots of love and time by the crafter—it stands to reason that if whatever is happening shows up mostly in crafters who do their crafts often and with dedication, then it would show up most in the projects they give the most time and attention to.
A bit of searching later, we found a stall selling beautifully made wooden game boards, with a siegat board and pieces temptingly set out at the front of the stall, all beautiful, made with filigree inlay and lovely carved scrollwork, a clear labor of love. So we went in, and wandered through everything else, lovely and solid but definitely not all at that level of effort and care, and had a chat with the proprietor, mostly about that game. He said he likes to have a showpiece or two at shows like this, and that one sold last year, so he set to work making this new one, and that he enjoyed it a great deal, and even learned some new techniques for it. I complimented him and said I couldn't tell, and asked what he'd learned, and he said it was the scrollwork. He'd seen similar work in some Elvish pieces, not in wood, I don't think, and wanted to apply it to his work. He's adapted less labor-intensive versions of it in some of his pieces, and I bought a solo game for Alion, since they can still never get the siegat rules to stick in my head, and I don't think they had any luck with you either, and Tiriel's been gently during them down for ages. (Maybe they'll get luck with Kari or Thari.)
We wandered a bit more, and we came back here, to talk a bit about all of it, our continued theories. Now that I've read it again, I keep thinking of Brennu's apt phrase, that “innovative inspiration.” Midat, taking a sideways step into something new that uses the skills she already learned. The woodworker, seeing something new he wanted to incorporate into his work. The team that made Maliah's bow, she's written to them to see what they say about it, and what they're working on now. Me, I suppose—Maliah made a point of mentioning my gloves, the leaps and bounds this version are above the last (though I maintain that a lot of that is only made possible by Niko and Aluarashi, and Fariya helping me incorporate the wireless sensors on my last iteration). I think more of the new songs I'm learning that are letting me cast ever more powerful magic, but either way, I am a data point here. It's hard to keep it in mind, but I am.
I don't want to narrow down my options too much so soon, when Niko is still so cagey and we've only talked to a few people at the craft booths here at the festival. We plan to talk to a lot more tomorrow (I am going to spend so much money in my guilt at taking up all their time. It's a good thing adventuring pays well!), so maybe I'll get some information. And maybe, if Brennu's phrase keeps feeling relevant, I should be spending some time looking into articles about new inventions in the past few years. It's a broad category, but it's worth a glance. Maybe you'd like to channel your paranoia and open up a reference question at the library.
And I promise—more than ever, when this touches our family in so many ways, I'll tell you as soon as I find out anything concrete. In the meantime, I'm going to balance having fun at a festival in between all my research.
Love,
Elyn

‘So... You want me to go in there and pretend to be a vampire?’ Jimin eyes Yoongi suspiciously.
‘Yes.. Yes,’ Yoongi nods, smiling ever so innocently.
‘You do realise that Seok Seok’s a vampire right? Whatever his name is...’
‘No.. The fangs are for decoration, Mr Chim Chim.’
‘So..?’ his eyes enlarge dramatically, waiting for a reply as a bewildered look enchants him.
Tik.. Tok.. Tik.. Tok..
‘I’m a witch. Bibidi Bobidi Boo.’
‘That old lady who helped the e girl was arrested for smuggling fairy dust two thousand years ago - stripped off of her godmother tittle. Fairy dust was and is on the brick of extinction. It’s illegal to use it until the royal court finds a way to maintain the substance from disappearing completely.’
‘The poor fairy population was wiped out completely two and a half thousand years ago. It’s a miracle that we still have that dusty stuff.’
‘Are you an encyclopedia?’ mouth agape, she blinks a couple of times.
‘That’s not important here.. What do you plan to do?’
‘I’ll use a few spells on you. The spell will only last for forty minutes. It’ll mask your scent, give you two pretty little vivis, and make you appear more intimidating.’
‘You’re the cutest little shit out there. Only me and Y/N gets to see that.’
And then off she goes to add herbs into a cauldron.
‘I’m brewing tea.’
This is not a children’s fairy tale book of some sort, ladies and gentlemen + humans in general..
‘Go fetch the spellbook, Mr Chim Chim,’ she directs her lips to the said book.
‘You didn't ask whether I’d agree to this or not?’ he’s not angry, just teasing around.
‘Will you?’
‘Yes..’
‘Now... Now.. Spell Book.’
‘Fucking Hell.. Fucking Hell.. Turn thee into blood.. Turn thee into blood sucking.. Turn thee into blood sucking creature.. No more lic.. No more gar.. Only Ti.. Only midating.. Only In.. Blood thee.. Blood thee.’
‘Gar rrrrrrrr... Rrrrrrrr... Grr.. Awwwwwooo.. Noo.. Grrrrr grrrr rrrr.. Yeah... Yeah... Grrrrr rrrr.’
Oh.. no, no, no.. She isn’t done yet. Not even close..
‘Grrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrr... Rrrrrrrrrrrrr… B.. Eeeeh.. L..... Eeeeh... O.... Eeek oog ag ag.. O... Grrrrrrr.. D... Grrrrrrr rrrrrr rrr.. Rawr.’
There we go!
‘Are you done yet?’ teeth clamped together awkwardly, Jimin remains still.
‘Look into the looking glass,’ she pulls him to the reflecting object on the wall.
‘Ooh.. I look good,’ licking his lips and pushing his hair back, he coos.
‘Say eeeeeh.’
What the fuck? But.. Okay?
‘Eeeeeh... Ak.. Ak.. Now, I can chop wood with my teeth.’
‘They’re not beaver teeth..’
A moment of silence for Mr Chim Chim..
‘Now, I can chomp on paper.’
‘You could probably do that with your regular teeth!’ you almost scare the shit out of him - you did.
‘I’ll bite you.. Grrrrr,’ he threatens.
‘Vampires don’t drink blood or do that creepy shit you think they do. Their genes have evolved over the centuries. How many times do I have to tell you that?’ she cries in annoyance.
‘Grrrrrrrr...’
‘Ahhhhhhh... I’m so scared-’
‘Gnaw.. Gnaw.. Gnaw..’ he doesn't sink his teeth into your flesh, and just pretends to do so.
‘Oh.. No.. Oh... No..’ you pretend to collapse.
Helpless to your antics, Yoongi watches..
‘Halmi.. Halmi!’
‘It’s.. help me, human!’
‘What are you going to do about it, Vamp?’
‘Ahhahaaa haaa.’
‘Wait.. Wait! Do I look convincing?’
‘Convincing my foot.’
‘Your foo-’
You have unlocked Park Jimin’s Mood Board ;)

A nivel de virtud: Bondad, Bendecir A nivel de patriarcas: Abraham(אברהם). The biggest issue with Teen Titans Go
Isn’t the comedy, the art style, the ‘take that audience that hates us’, or any of the other small issues that the show has overall.
The issue is that there is non consistent quality. Some episodes can be clever and actually kinda interesting, others lazy and dumb and whoever is in charge of the show overall never stops a script in process and go ‘yeah, no. This isn’t very good. Go back and come up with something else’.
Like, if the show was at least consistent in what it wanted to be (and actually paid attention to what the older fanbase was actually saying vs their strawmen arguments) I think a majority of the criticism would at least be midated. There are episodes of Go I’ve actually enjoyed... the issue is Go itself is like a box of chocolates, you don’t know what you’re going to get and that’s its biggest issue, at least for me.
Now, in all fairness to the people who work on the show, my understanding is that Go’s production is fast/rushed as hell which explains a lot about why the quality varies so damn much, or why the movie had something resembling actual effort put into it compared to the average (and I mean average) episode of the show.

The Torah introduces the creation of the universe, not once, but twice. In the first chapter of Genesis, it says: “In the beginning, God (Elokim) created heaven and earth.” (Gen. 1:1) And in chapter two, it says: “These are the chronicles of heaven and earth when they were created; on the day that the Lord God (Hashem Elokim) made earth and heaven.” (Gen. 2:4) Two Accounts of Creation When we examine these two verses, the most prominent difference between them is the name used for God. The first chapter uses the name Elokim - a name that corresponds to the Divine attribute of Justice (Midat Ha-Din). This aspect of creation is also called Gevurah (Strength), as the ability to meet the strict standards of unmitigated justice provides strength and legitimacy. If we can measure up to the attribute of Divine justice, we deserve to live. The second chapter uses a combination of two names for the Creator: Hashem Elokim. The Torah precedes the name Elokim with the Tetragrammaton. This ineffable Divine name signifies the Divine trait of Mercy (Rachamim). It indicates that the world did not deserve to exist on the basis of its own merits. Creation of the universe required that the attribute of Justice be tempered with a measure of Mercy. Combining Mercy and Justice Why this change in God’s name? The Midrash explains that a fundamental shift took place during the process of creation: “Initially, God intended to create it with the attribute of Justice. But then He saw that the world cannot exist [with only Justice], so He gave priority to the attribute of Mercy, and joined it with the attribute of Justice.” (Pesikta Rabbati 40) The combination of two opposing traits, Mercy and Justice, is the foundation for the middle path that enables the universe to exist. The admixture of Mercy permitted free choice and the possibility that we may fall under the influence of evil. It created a reality where human frailties and foibles are tolerated. - Rav Kook
