after the cage adam’s probably so excited to do like a little classic road trip thing with michael-
adam wants to show michael everything.
plus at this point he probably just wants to get michael and himself out there! he’s been cooped up for so long, and adam knows how fast things change on earth, so he really just wants to catch up.
unfortunately michael is not partial to the idea arguing, “adam what would be the advantage to traveling by vehicle? my wings are not damaged, i could fly us anywhere you wanted to go. it would be much faster and much more efficient, would it not?”
to which adam will retort that it’s “just not the same.” and “driving is half the fun.”
10 hours into the road trip adam remembers that being stuck in a car with nothing to do, kind of does suck, and michael was probably -definitely- right that flying would be much better.
however, adam is far to proud to admit that so soon, plus he’s been stuck with nothing to do for longer (1000 years of the cage ring a bell?) so he can make it through this for sure.
4 days and 3 states in, he turns to michael with a sly “i want something from you” smile. “let’s ditch the car.” he says completely nonchalantly, to which michael happily obliges.
quickly jumping on the opportunity and just snapping the entire vehicle out of existence, as well as simultaneously snapping them to their next destination. (which if you must know is cawker city, kansas- the worlds largest ball of twine.)

I think its absolutely hilarious that Dean and Castiel go through inhuman amounts of trauma over the course of a decade plus, and somehow they still arent the human x angel ship on the show that has gone through the most detrimental mind bending shit. Michael and Adam were literally trapped in hell together alone for over 1000 years and they walked out the other side healthier than Dean and Cas could ever possibly be. Iconic really

The ironic part of Zachariah saying that Adam wasn’t really the chosen one is that HE LITERALLY WAS!! Adam was Michael’s first act of free will. Michael CHOOSE Adam over Dean. He could have easily kept going after Dean but no! He took Adam instead, even though as Gabriel put it - SINCE THE BEGINNING they knew that it was supposed to be Sam and Dean. Michael just said fuck that the rules don’t apply to me

I know everyone and their mothers and ME have said this before, but they really should've let Michael kill God.
Can you imagine having prevented the apocalypse multiple times since the OG apocalypse and then coming back full circle with Michael ending the world. The first time was because his Father commanded it and he loved Him. And now it's bcs an all-consuming grief of losing the only person he truly loved and who truly loved him.
The last shot of the show would be a dead planet (you can see the moon in pieces in the sky), the dead bodies of the winchesters, God dead with these MASSIVE wings scorched into the ground, Michael standing in the midst of it all with his eyes glowing red

Cas thinks Dean is beautiful. Period. Like he is just fascinated by humans and he likes his human body and yes he’s an angel but he’s also so much more and he’s experienced so much more and he loves Dean and he inherently thinks Dean is hot. He thinks humans in general are hot.
Michael thinks Adam is an ugly little creature but he loves him anyway. Like they’re different species and he likes being an angel and humans are confusing and weird and kind of gross and he’s never really gotten the appeal -but he likes Adam anyway :) Adam is an acquired taste and Michael eventually thinks he’s attractive and desirable too but every other human is just as ugly as they’ve ever been

What do you think Jack did about the people Chuck brought back in season 15 (Adam, Michael) when he brought everyone/thing else back? Did he bring back Adam but not Michael? Both? Neither?

In my mind the only way Michael comes around to liking and being accepting of Jack is if one day he’s like “Nephilim are not to be trusted, they are unholy offspring” and Adam could go the more gentle and therapeutic route but instead he counters with, “ok but what if you got me pregnant and I gave birth to our Nephilim baby?”
And Michael just- freezes.
And that’s how he learns to get along with Jack being the new god, and also Adam’s been wondering why Michael’s been staring silently at their bed lately and why he keeps hugging Adam from behind and holding his stomach??????

Thinking about how Michael must have felt so empty, the body - their house! - felt so lonely without Adam, so cold despite the archangel grace still running through their veins.
And how when Adam wakes up at that lake, he is just as empty, the sun only coming from outside his skin but never reaching that space deep within his chest-

sometimes i think about the fact that Michael and Adam really came out of the cage Like That. like they could gave easily gone for revenge (and I would have cheered them on if they did) but instead they decided to go get hamburgers and look at the sights around the world and Adam was going to get them a job (even though I'm pretty sure two seconds in Michael would've killed the first customer to be rude in Adam's presence). if that isn't love then what the fuck is???

writing this fic and it turned into adam being pissed at sam…. which just makes so much sense. because who tried to get adam out of the cage? it was dean! he tried to get death to save him and was forced to choose, which was an obvious choice. yes, sam is important to dean, but soulless!sam was getting to be a problem. and after he got it back, he should’ve been the one to initiate trying to get adam back because he knows, more intimately than anyone, what the cage does to a soul.

but he didn’t. and out of everyone, lucifer is the one to bring him up years later!! (and indirectly calls out sam’s chosen one complex and calls him selfish for not even bothering to mention adam and instead avoiding him….thinking about @shallowseeker’s posts about lucifer and his cognitive empathy and sam’s tendencies toward dissociation/avoidance/‘running away’) then he said michael was cuckoo for coco puffs after he admitted to planting hallucinations in sam’s head! and honestly it’s interesting that he would’ve just trusted lucifer (?!?!!!) of all people after that reveal. like yep, no use trying to save him, he’s already gone! and yeah this scene was scrapped but it haunts me because nothing would’ve changed. sam had already determined adam was a lost cause and it just makes no sense to me. they are allies with demons and soulless people! they know how to cure demons! like! sam and dean’s own souls have gone to shit! they should’ve at least talked!!! but no!!!!
it’s just crazy to me that the writers remembered michael and adam and then just left it. s11 could’ve been so much better with them and i stand by it. the drama we missed!

Do you think there’s a song that only Michael knows? Like a song so old that even with his perfect memory he can’t remember the entire melody or where exactly he heard it, but he hums it to himself all the time at his most loneliest. And it should bother him this hole in his memory but it doesn’t matter cause Michael’s so hurt and the song brings so much comfort.
Like Michael is the first thing God made that stuck, that wasn’t swallowed whole by his ever loving sister. And there was a moment, just a second, where it was just the two of them. When Michael wasn’t a brother and God was just a father, maybe God would hold him close and hum an unfinished song of creation to soothe him. The only sources of light in overwhelming darkness.
His first son, his greatest weapon.
Neither God or Michael remember this; Michael’s got siblings that need taking care of and It’s been a long time since God was a father.
But maybe in their umpteenth year in the cage, when they’ve huddled together after a particularly bad day, Michael starts humming a half remembered melody and when Adam asks him where it came from as goes the game they play, for the first time Michael confesses he doesn’t know.
And just maybe, on the other side of the plane, when Chuck’s writing a new chapter of his latest novel, deep in thought contemplating the relationships of fathers and sons; he starts humming a half remembered song in response and wonders where he heard it.

soulmate au. when your soulmate touches you for the first time they leave a mark on your skin. platonic and romantic soulmates exist, so anyone is fair game.
normally, it’s little things. a handprint on the palm from a handshake. little smudges from bumping into each other. people either go out of their way to touch strangers or completely avoid it.
adam has a single fingerprint on his arm from kristin tapping him to get his attention in class. her index finger is forever stained green to match.
angels have been told they don’t have soulmates, not with each other, not with humans. the rare exceptions are believed to be frauds. michael possesses adam and no mark is left on his skin.
but as time passes in the cage, and adam sees more of michael’s memories, going earlier and earlier, he notices changes in michael’s true form. a smear of gold that only appeared after gabriel was born. purple after raphael, red after lucifer. he notices it in all the angels he sees, how they’re born as colorless beings but grow into rainbows, more or less. he sees swirls of blue in michael now that aren’t there in memories.
one day, he asks michael about it. what color is his soul. what does he look like on the inside. a sort of blue, michael says. all over. very unique; human souls don’t usually have such a cohesive color. just another reason adam is special.
it probably takes michael a while to believe it. he has to look at lucifer on the other side of the cage and match the red circle around the approximation of his shoulders and compare it to the first time he met his little brother, how he pulled him into a hug. how raphael’s wings weren’t always lined in purple, how michael stroked them in the first moments of their existence. how gabriel wasn’t born with golden palms, and how michael wasn’t either.
the blue twisting through him that is the exact shade of adam’s soul, a shade he didn’t see when descending upon the green room.
(he sees chuck, once they’re out, and realizes that he’s the only real fraud. the colors he shows in his powers are false. at his core, god is colorless. loveless and cruel. michael stands before him and accepts death in a body stripped of the paint that made it home.)
