I know this post is like, two years old, but this is fucking awesome. I love Mucubes.

me: so this is just gonna be a simple story with some magic

me: it will be easy to understand, no informatics or math talk that the average reader finds confusing, just easy things. I don't need to channel my inner nerd all the time

magic: *can be practiced by drawing shapes*

me: what if it's based on regular polyhedra? Like how Plato made the connection between them and the elements

me: that'd be really cool

also me after a few minutes of trying to draw an icosahedron magic circle: and i can use some of the obscurer ones, like the Kepler-Poinsot polyhedra for stuff that aren't the four classical elements, like electromagnetism, or space or light. oooh what if the infinite ones like the mucube or the regular tilings are God Magic

Serival dex entry A little more cautious than Micub, Serival has learned to hunt for itself, utilizing its large ears and long legs. It’s said in the past, a Serival fought a massive poisonous serpent to protect the emperor and won, leading to Serival’s evolution line to be held in high regard. Sometimes they can be found living in small groups.

Chrytah [Ground/Fairy] Species: Sand Cheetah Pokemon Length: 1.3 m (4’03’’) Weight: 51.7 kg (114 lbs) Ability: Sand Rush, Pastel Veil Hidden Ability: Speed Boost

Chrytah dex entry These Pokemon used to be considered as mythicals with how rare and elusive they are. Despite how powerful they are in battle, they are rather nervous and gentle, and require a lot of attention and care to help adjust to changes. Surprisingly, they still emit high-pitched chirps like Micub.

WOO, I did it guys, I redesigned the cheetahs-

So yeah, me temporarily remembering ancient Egyptians attempted to domesticate cheetahs, plus remembering Bastet and Mafdet made me think ‘I NEED TO REDO THESE’ and here we are.

Micub, I named after ‘mica’ (a mineral and a major component of sand) and ‘cub’ even if technically a baby cheetah may or may not be considered a cub- Listen cheetahs are more related to house cats than lions, okay? They might be kittens but like we already have a bunch of kitten Pokemon-

Serival, I named after ‘sericite’ (a type of mica... I think, it’s part of the ground okay) and ‘serval’.

And Chrytah, I named mostly after ‘chrysocolla’ and ‘cheetah’. Why chrysocolla? Well Chrytah’s design is influenced by ancient Egypt and they really liked soft gemstones like coral and turquoise. (Hence the turquoise motif on Chrytah, I just thought it’d look good and I turned out to be right.) And I was trying to find a way to have turquoise in its name until I found chrysocolla and it’s like... the same color-ish as turquoise. Plus, it sounds like ‘cry’ and cheetahs have their little tear marks that look like they’re crying. So, Chrytah! Also Google says Cleopatra wore chrysocolla because it was believed to keep violent people calm but I don’t know how accurate that is, it’s just a little tid bit I found.

Anyways, yeah. I guess after this I’m going to post some memes of my current Fakemon and then go on to make more Fakemon designs! Because my best friend said I’m unintentionally forming a region. And to a degree, I think I am. Oh well, I guess.

They are typically solitary but can be found in small groups of 2-3 others. There’s a folktale that if you toss out a berry on a foggy morning, a Serival will arrive to take it, and will vanish back into the mist without a trace.

Speedah Species: Endangered Racer Pokemon Type: Ground/Fairy Length: 1.3 m (4’03’’) Weight: 51.7 kg (114 lbs) Ability: Speed Boost, Uplifting Thought [Ability-bearer and allies are immune to Ground-type moves] Hidden Ability: Quick Charge [Moves that take a turn to charge only take one turn] Originally fast and adored by humans.  These predators were hunted until they began to evolve differently in an attempt to throw off hunters.  Now even faster and able to blend better with their surroundings, they're considered a myth to most.  This is enhanced by their tendency to produce large clouds of fairy dust to distract hunters while they escape.

Sample moves: Swift, Dazzling Gleam, Earth Power, Power Gem, Solar Beam, Psyshock, Mystical Fire Signature moves: 

Fairy Flash

Fairy dust is blasted at the opposing team. Those hit float and can't use ground type moves. PP 20, Special, Power 60.

Velocity Boost

The user greatly boosts the speed of itself and allies. PP 15, status.

So I stared at my previous designs for too long and ended up making new ones, with the intention of making them more Ground-type. And then I changed Electric to Fairy to reflect their timid nature.

Also, I can imagine they’re overworld spawns and their behavior vastly differs from most evolutions. Micub would behave like Stufful/Buneary/Jigglypuff and will just run up to you because they’re small curious babies who don’t know any better. Serival would behave more like non-aggressive Corviknight/Snorlax/Claydol where they just kinda stare at you for a second and then continue doing their own thing. And then Speedah would be like Dunsparce/Vulpix/Noibat/Wimpod and just takes off running the second they see you.

Can you tell I really like cheetahs? I really like cheetahs.

Now I can move onto other things..... like whale shark Pokemon. Or garden eel Pokemon.
