The anechoic chamber, audio lab, which is housed at Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington is the quietest place on earth, and no one has lasted inside it for more than 55 minutes.
The body starts to adjust to silence. You can sometimes hear your lungs and stomach gurgling, as well as your heart pumping. You’ll also experience ringing in your ears. You can even hear your bones grind in this room.
Even moving around becomes difficult: If you’re in there for half an hour, you have to be in a chair. The absence of sensation in thin air can cause the body to produce hallucinations.
6 layers of concrete and steel were used. The walls, ceiling, and floor are all lined with fiberglass wedges that disperse sound waves before they can bounce back. The wedges absorb 99.999% of the sound. Additionally, springs that reduce vibration are on top.
The chamber has a fantastic function in the development of new audio technology. For anything to do with audio, these types of chambers have become extremely important.

Yes, the room referred to is known as an "anechoic chamber," and the one at Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond, Washington, is often cited as one of the quietest places on Earth. The room is designed to absorb sound, so there’s almost no echo, which makes it feel eerily silent. The sensation of hearing your bodily functions, like the sound of blood flowing or your heartbeat, is common because there’s nothing else to mask those internal sounds.
The reason people can’t stay in these chambers for long periods is due to the overwhelming silence. Our brains are used to a constant stream of background noise, and without it, they start to create their own "noise," which can lead to disorientation and discomfort. Some people report feeling anxiety or even hallucinations in extreme cases, as the mind tries to make sense of the unnatural quiet.
The Microsoft chamber, like many anechoic chambers, has a noise floor measured in negative decibels—meaning it’s quieter than the threshold of human hearing.

Did You Know? What is an Anechoic chamber?
The world's quietest room is located at Microsoft's headquarters in Washington. It's an anechoic chamber designed to absorb almost all sound, reaching a level of quietness of -9 decibels. That's quieter than human breathing! Scientists use this room to test products for noise reduction and to study the effects of silence on the human body. Imagine a world so quiet you can hear your own heartbeat!

INNER SILENCE
Date: 6 July 2023
1 Duration: 28 minutes at 10:34 AM
2 Duration: 56 minutes at 10:29 PM
Depth:
I can still hear sounds in my head when I meditate. It wasn’t a passing phase. During last night’s meditation, I heard a sound only once and it resembled the flow of a gushing liquid. That’s so different from all the sharp, loud, muted, bass type percussion sounds that I have been hearing.
There is a note I have to make here. My grandfather was a sound recordist in the Hindi film industry back in the 1950s - ‘60s. My uncles took income worthy interest in the work after my grandfather. I have had a handful of discussions with my uncles over many years that are technical in nature.
Among the things I have heard my older uncle tell me is that a sound recording room can never be sound proofed to such an extent that the person in the room can’t hear anything. It can lead to madness. In a recording room that is sound proofed well, an indoor miniature fountain is installed and kept running. The fountain is the sanity keeper.
Interesting, isn’t it? I have been thinking about it. If meditation induced Peace does create a deep and seamless type of silence within one’s head, then to activate sound related brain cells in the head is a healthy way forward for the meditator. If inner silences led to insanity, then who on earth would take up meditation?
Blessed life energies seem to be following a precise order of spiritual experiences to be granted to the advancing spiritual seeker. That’s probably why every God realised saint who has made him/herself known to the world, has spoken words that will find a listener in the very last person on this planet. No matter how outlandishly esoteric a teaching be but if the teacher is God-realised, then the teaching will be taken up by the human heart.
I found an article about the quietest room in the world and it isn’t comforting. Here:

Not Today VIII
A/N: So... Eleven pages in Microsoft Word! We're in for a long chapter, it seems! But the plot is thickening tonight, and we're FINALLY getting toward the good stuff, if you catch my meaning. So, please enjoy this chapter, and I'll be posting the next on Wednesday! Skål!
Summary: When Ivar takes the throne of Kattegat, Lagertha flees to Wessex along with Björn, Ubbe, Torvi, and the Bishop Heahmund. There, they seek the aid of King Alfred. This aid comes in the form of his sister, Aethelind, who agrees to travel to Kattegat and try to reason Ivar, who she spent some time with during their youth, when her grandfather King Ecbert hosted Ragnar Lothbrok in their castle. Now, she is the only hope for Lagertha and her supporters to retake Kattegat from Ivar the Boneless.
Masterlist
--
The meeting was called before anyone was ready for it. Granted, a few nights ago, Torvi and Ubbe had snuck into Aethelind’s chambers and attacked her, made her defend herself in the middle of the night, and she had defended herself well enough that, were they enemies to her, she would have survived. But still, none could have seen this coming.
That had been a moment of pride for Torvi, realizing the training they were giving her was more than paying off. She’d grinned and embraced the Princess once she had succeeded as she was meant to, as had Ubbe, and the group had fixed up the area, picking up anything that had been disturbed in the fight.
There was still a good way for Aethelind to go, though. They all knew that. That was why none of them understood why this meeting was being called. Only Alfred and Ubbe seemed to know anything.
So, they all sat as they had before, though Aethelind had arrived with Torvi. They were talking quietly about what might be going on, approaching the room arm in arm as if they’d known each other all their lives.
“I know we have been discussing how well you have been progressing,” Torvi was saying, “but we have all agreed we were not yet ready to send you.”
Aethelind frowned slightly, her brows pulling together. “Perhaps Alfred wants a report? To hear how I’ve been doing so far? I know he’s been watching me train often, but…”
Torvi gave a small shrug. “Perhaps,” she said. “Or perhaps he wants to tell us something else. Ubbe has been helping your brother become a better warrior. Perhaps…?”
Aethelind shook her head. “No,” she said. “He wouldn’t bring us all together this way to just tell us how he’s made progress. Probably, he wants to hear how I’m doing from all of you."
Torvi nodded at this, and shrugged. “We’ll see,” she commented, and the women stepped into the room.
Everyone else was already seated, and Aethelind grinned a little to Alfred, a silent apology for her and Torvi’s lateness. He simply smiled and shook his head, waiting on the two to get in their seats. Once they were both situated, he began.
“I believe it is time to send Aethelind to Kattegat.”
There were varied responses from everyone aside from Alfred, but all were some degree of shock. Well, aside from Ubbe, that was. He seemed to be the only one who had expected those words.
“Are you sure of this?” Lagertha questioned, frowning at the thought. “She has become a very well trained Shieldmaiden, but the risk of sending her too soon…”
"Is great,” Alfred finished for her, and nodded. “We know this. But…” He took a deep breath, and sighed, before gesturing to Ubbe.
“King Harald means to attack Wessex,” he said. This also caused a shocked response. Ubbe waited patiently on things to quiet down. “This is why we want to send Aethelind to Kattegat now. You may all choose to argue if you wish, but I believe she has enough training to survive. Assuming she is ever attacked. But if Harald is coming, then she will not be able to leave until after he has come, and gone, and there are too many variables surrounding that to know if we can even get her out at all. So, King Alfred and I wish to call the vote now, as opposed to whenever else we may call it, on the subject of sending Aethelind to Kattegat immediately.”
Aethelind felt as if her heart had dropped into her stomach. Immediately? It wasn’t that she didn’t want to go, but this was so sudden. She wasn’t even sure how to take this. Her eyes turned to Torvi, who gave a small shrug. Clearly, she had also been caught off guard. Aethelind then looked to Lagertha, Heahmund, and Björn. None of them seemed to know what to think of this, but then Alfred was saying, “My vote is a yes,” as was Ubbe. The vote then went to Torvi, and Aethelind watched her with wide eyes.
“You... have become a very talented fighter,” she conceded. “You know how to use a sword, a bow, an axe, and a shield. You can best both myself and Lagertha, and hold your own well against Ubbe and Björn. You can also best Bishop Heahmund. The chances of a Ragnarsson attacking you are low, I would expect, and I wouldn’t expect anyone else to be as efficient in hurting you. For that reason… I’ll vote yes.” The young Shieldmaiden looked a bit like a startled deer, even as she gave her vote. She could think through what needed to be done, but that didn't mean she wasn't stunned by it.
Aethelind felt her heart beginning to beat faster as she then turned her eyes to Heahmund.
“Harald wasn’t a part of any of our plans,” he began. “We’ll do all we can to defend Wessex, but should he break through… I do not want you here, Princess. For your safety, I vote yes. You should be in Kattegat, or at least on your way, before Harald arrives in our fields.”
Next, was Lagertha. All eyes turned to her as she took a deep breath. “The vote… must be unanimous,” she reminded the council, her eyes focusing on the table. “We are weighing the Princess’s safety here in Wessex, against her safety in Kattegat. Unless she is somehow discovered to be working for us by Ivar, she should be safe there. If this discovery is made, we have prepared her the best we can. So, the question is asked: Is the Princess safer here, or in Kattegat? With the approach of King Harald’s army, a sort of fight she has not been prepared for… I must say I believe she will be safer in Kattegat. I vote yes.”
And that left Björn. When Aethelind turned to look up at him, she found he was already looking at her. He appeared contemplative, and she remembered their fight in the marketplace, a few weeks ago. If someone attacked her the way he had, she would be dead. That must have been what was going through his mind, too, she figured. After a few long moments of silence from him, he eventually asked, “How do you feel about this?”
The question stunned Aethelind, though… In the end, it did make sense. She would be the one going to Kattegat, or staying in Wessex. It was her life hanging in the balance. Her eyes again looked around the table, and met every pair of eyes looking back at her. “We could keep me here for an entire year, and perhaps never decide I am ready,” she said. “Or, just three more days. But if this King Harald is already on our doorstep, or nearly so… We may never get that chance. I know you will all go to battle, and I know my training does not prepare me for such. The combat I have been trained for is not that which is found on a battlefield. So, you will all go to battle, and I will remain here, hoping and praying to God for your victory. I am no fool, though. We may pray for God to intercede on our behalf in things, but… Our will is not always His. Prayer does not always win a battle, much as we may wish it to. Now is the only time we are guaranteed the ability to send me to Kattegat. If we wait, and Harald wins and reaches Wessex, there would be little reason to send me. He will only come if the Sons of Ragnar are no longer able to stop him, meaning there would be no son of Ragnar away from Kattegat, who could return to rule it. It’s true that this would mean there is a chance I have been sent for no reason. But I believe I would be safer in Kattegat, away from the battles, than in Wessex where Harald’s army could reach me. So, if you are asking for my vote, Björn…”
Aethelind sighed as her eyes returned to his. “I would request to be sent immediately, as jarring as it may be.”
Once her answer was given, Björn nodded, and gestured to her as if to say, Then you have my vote as well.
“The vote is unanimous,” Alfred said, nodding. “Aethelind, go prepare to depart at once. I’ll have a ship prepared at the docks with all haste. We must see you off before nightfall. Hurry.”
The Princess nodded, and got to her feet. She wasn’t surprised at all that Torvi also stood. “I’ll join you,” she offered. “Two can prepare more quickly than one.”
Aethelind gave her a small smile as thanks, and the two hurried off.
Once in the halls, Aethelind picked up her skirts and took off in a hard run, Torvi rushing after her. They moved as quickly as they could to Aethelind’s chambers, where they quickly got inside and began stuffing clothing in trunks. Torvi had begun trying to fold the clothing, making it neat, but Aethelind stopped her.
“I can rearrange on the boat, I’ll have little enough to do,” she said. “And time is of the essence now.”
Torvi nodded and did as Aethelind said. When it came to it, she put a sword in the trunk as well, wrapped up in the clothing. “Choose if you wish to wear this once you arrive. But I would not arrive wearing it. That may yet warn Ivar of your purpose there.”
Aethelind thanked her, and was soon tossing in the last piece of clothing. She and Torvi shut the trunk, and she sighed. “This is it then, I’m afraid,” she said. “A few more hours, and I’ll be on my way to Kattegat.”
Torvi smiled at her, sensing the younger woman’s nerves. They’d worked quickly enough, so Torvi took her hands, and led her to sit on the bed, still smiling gently at her. “You are ready,” she said determinedly. “I believe that. You have good instinct, and you are charismatic. If you do not feel ready when you arrive, I believe you could pass off an interest in training as an interest in learning more of our culture. They’ll like that- Ivar especially. They’ll see it as a Saxon Princess becoming Viking. No one would have to know it was further training, unless you wish to sell the story that your parents chose to have you both trained.”
Aethelind nodded, and gave Torvi’s hands a squeeze. “Thank you, Torvi,” she said. “For everything. I’m going to miss you dearly while I’m in Kattegat, but I hope to see you again someday, once all this is done and peace is achieved.”
Torvi smiled at her sweetly, and brought up a hand to cup her cheek. “You are one of us,” she said. “You have become a Shieldmaiden, like any other. Aethelind, you are my sister. Lagertha’s sister. And you are blessed. Whether by your God, by ours, or perhaps by all… You are very talented, and you will do well in Kattegat. They’re going to love you there.”
This earned a warm, wide smile from Aethelind, who then leaned forward to embrace her. “I love you, Torvi,” she said softly. “And I will see you again one day. I believe that. In the past months, I’ve come to love you all. And so, I hope that you will all greet me on the docks of Kattegat soon, when you have come to claim it again.”
Torvi smiled at that, and nodded silently.
The door to Aethelind’s chambers opened then, and both Torvi and Aethelind straightened up to see who was entering. It was Judith, who shut the door behind herself, and paused to look at her daughter, whose hands still held the arms of the Viking woman before her.
Tears had already gathered in Judith’s eyes, and Aethelind gave her a sad smile, standing and going to embrace her. “I take it Alfred has told you?” she asked softly.
Judith nodded, and said, “My beloved daughter, being sent to Kattegat to negotiate peace…” A wet laugh left her, and she shook her head a little. “I somehow didn’t expect this day to ever come.” When she pulled back, she reached up to cup the girl’s cheeks- for in her eyes, she still saw a young girl, not the suddenly grown woman who truly stood before her. “Your father would have been… so proud of you,” she whispered. “And I believe he goes with you, as you make that same journey he once did. I only hope you return to me, and this is not goodbye.”
“It won’t be,” Aethelind promised, now cupping her mother’s cheek gently. “I won’t be gone long, just long enough to secure peace, and then I will return home.” Judith gave a small nod.
“I’m sure you will,” she said. “I’m proud of you. Everything I admired in your father, I see reflected in you, now. Your brother is the legacy of his mind, but you are the legacy of his heart. His heart was with the Vikings, in Kattegat, and I see yours is as well. I only pray that God goes with you.”
“He will,” Aethelind assured her, and gave her shoulder a slight squeeze. “He knows His plans for me, and I believe they are in Kattegat.”
“As do I,” Judith confessed. “Though it breaks my heart to send you into such an unknown circumstance. But know that my love goes with you as well, and I will look forward to seeing you when you return.”
Aethelind smiled, and nodded. “Will you not join us at the docks, to see me off?” she questioned, and Judith shook her head.
“No,” she said. “No, I have to prepare here in case Harald’s forces do reach us. It will keep any spies he’s sent out from finding things too quiet here, and realizing something is happening. Your brothers are both waiting on you in the courtyard to bid you farewell there, for the same reason. Bishop Heahmund will be taking you to the docks. It’s better you travel with a smaller party, and a Bishop and a Princess travelling is easy to explain.”
As much as she didn’t like this, Aethelind knew it was true. “Very well,” she said. “And so… I must say goodbye to you here?”
“I’m afraid so,” Judith answered.
Aethelind swallowed, but gave an understanding nod. “Alright,” she said. “Then… I suppose we should do that?”
It hadn’t yet even begun to get dark by the time they’d said their goodbyes, but servants were called to take the trunk of Aethelind’s clothing down to a carriage, one which would go ahead of her and the Bishop to the docks. Once that was done, she went down to the courtyard to say goodbye to her brothers, and the Vikings who had become like another family to her.
Everyone had already gathered when she, Torvi, and Judith emerged from the castle, and Lagertha stepped forward first to meet the Princess. She opened her arms to the younger woman, and embraced her warmly, a small smile on her face. “You’re going to make us proud,” she whispered. “I am sure of it.” When she pulled away, she held Aethelind’s shoulders in her hands, and continued, “I knew your father, Princess. Well. It was my farm he stayed in when he first came to Kattegat, with myself and Ragnar, and our children.”
Aethelind’s heart skipped a beat at the mention of Athelstan, and she swallowed, smiling. She’d not heard much about him, not really, from the Vikings, though she was sure it would have been known by them that she was his daughter. So, to hear Lagertha speak of him now… She was finding herself getting a bit emotional already.
“He was one of the best men I’ve ever known,” she said. “You remind me so much of him, and it is for that reason I know you are the one meant to do this. This is your fate, and your destiny, Aethelind. You are brave, and strong, and you have his heart in you.” Lagertha put her hand over Aethelind’s heart, and it was all the Princess could do not to let the tears building in her eyes spill over. “Go now, and make him proud, just as you will us.” Aethelind nodded, and hugged Lagertha tightly again.
“Thank you,” she whispered to the older woman. “Thank you, Lagertha. You don’t know what those words mean to me.” Lagertha smiled at the words, and held her just a little tighter.
“Aethelind, Princess of Wessex, child of the North, daughter of Athelstan,” she began. “The favour of the gods is with you.”
Those words struck Aethelind, and she swallowed hard, before pulling back and looking at Lagertha with a smile. She squeezed her shoulders, and nodded. “I will see you again,” Aethelind said. “Before Valhalla.”
“I hope so,” Lagertha agreed. She brought Aethelind’s head down, and pressed a kiss to her forehead. “Now go, and may the gods go with you.”
Aethelind nodded, and released Lagertha, moving now to Ubbe who stood just behind her. He smiled warmly at her, and when he embraced her, he did so in the sort of way that made her feel completely enveloped by him. He held the back of her head in his hand, and rested his chin on top of her head. “You are strong, Princess,” he told her. “And, you are ready. Be careful of Ivar, but do what you’ve gone to do. If there is anyone who will get through to him, I believe it is you.” When he pulled back a little, he looked down into her face, then continued. “Keep your mind clear,” he said, his fingers touching her temple. He tapped them there, and she chuckled softly. “You’re a smart girl. You think like him. Use that.”
She nodded a little, and then he pressed his forehead to hers, her own hand lifting to cup the back of his neck. “Thank you, Ubbe,” she said. “You’ve given me much wisdom, and I take it all with me.” He smiled a little, and patted her shoulder with his free hand, his other thumb brushing over her cheek. It was quite an intimate display of affection, for what the Saxons were used to seeing. In fact, they found it rather inappropriate. But Ubbe had become like a brother to Aethelind, just as his wife had become like a sister to her.
“Go,” he said. “You have a long journey ahead of you. We should not keep you.”
Aethelind smiled, and nodded a little. One more tight embrace, and she moved to Torvi, who took her hands. “I have already said what I wanted to, before we came here,” she confessed. “Remember all I have taught you, all we have taught you, and we will see you again.” Aethelind gave another nod, and then she was embracing Torvi, the two women holding tightly to each other.
When they separated, Aethelind kissed Torvi’s cheek, and told her, “I hope to see you soon then, sister.” Torvi smiled widely at these words, and nodded, before releasing her to…
Björn.
Before she had a chance to say anything, he had begun to speak. “You are small,” he said. She seemed confused by this, but he added, “Use this to your advantage. If you find yourself in a fight, do not stop moving. Never stop moving. You were on the verge of that when we fought in the marketplace, and it was what kept you on your feet so long. If you must escape, it is better to do this than to die.”
Aethelind nodded, and then Björn smiled. “My mother is right. You are much like your father. It is his heart in you, as she said, that we see. The people of Kattegat loved him. If they see that same heart in you, then they will love you as well. Just as we do.”
This brought a soft smile to her face, and Aethelind hugged him tightly. “I’ll miss you, Björn Ironside,” she said softly, and he chuckled.
“You will not have long to miss me, I’m sure,” he encouraged her. “So go on, Shieldmaiden.” Aethelind looked up at him, and he kissed her forehead. “I will see you again before Valhalla.”
Aethelind nodded, and the time finally came for her to say goodbye to her brothers, those related to her by blood. Alfred and Aethelred stood together, and both smiled at her when she approached them. No words were spoken just yet, before they were both embracing her, and she smiled at the familiar feeling.
“I can’t imagine what has brought this on,” Aethelred said with a chuckle. “I’ve not been overly involved in this. But I know you’re going to do… whatever it is you’ve got to do, very well.”
Alfred nodded his agreement. “She will,” he said. “And I look forward to hearing everything when you return, Sister.”
Aethelind looked up at him and nodded with a warm smile. “Thank you,” she said. “I’m sure I’ll have many tales to tell.”
“Good,” Alfred said. “Then go. We will pray for your safety, your security, and your swift return.”
Aethelind nodded, and they both kissed her cheek, before turning her over to Bishop Heahmund. When she reached him, he offered her a kind smile. “Your things are being taken as we speak to the docks,” he informed her. “Are you ready to follow them?”
She knew if she looked back, she would want to take more time with her family. Of course, they had all promised her, and her in return, that they would reunite again. Before Valhalla. But she knew that the Lord worked in mysterious ways, and that the Vikings believed the same of their gods. Any promise could be made, but that didn’t mean they would be able to be kept. The Vikings were meant for war within days, and Aethelind herself was going into the heart of the enemy’s territory. Who knew what the future held?
So, Aethelind nodded. “Let’s go,” she said. The Bishop nodded in return, and then gave a curt nod to all those behind her, before turning to begin his walk to the docks with the Princess.
Unlike him, Aethelind did not look once more at her family, though she would perhaps one day wish she had, and followed Heahmund. She didn’t pause when she crossed the gates, nor at any point as they journeyed to the docks. When they did arrive, she only waited as long as needed to get her things on the boat that would take her to Kattegat. As they waited, Heahmund gave a small sigh.
"Be careful with him,” he said suddenly. “I know Ubbe has warned you, but I feel the need to warn you as well. Ivar the Boneless is a dangerous man, but he does still have the side to him which you speak of, that you remember from your youth. I am almost certain that is the man you will encounter, when you first arrive. If you’re lucky, and if you do things just right, you may only ever encounter that man. I just want to warn you to never forget that the other man, the dangerous, ruthless one who murdered his brother, is still there.”
Aethelind nodded a little, swallowing. “Thank you for your warning, Bishop Heahmund. I’ll keep your words in mind while I’m in Kattegat
He smiled, and then the captain of the boat that was to be taking her came to tell them they were ready to go. With that, Aethelind let out a short breath, and turned to Heahmund. “That’ll be me, then,” she said with a small smile. He chuckled softly, and embraced her.
“Take care of yourself, Princess,” he said. “You have earned the right to be called Shieldmaiden. Go now and prove it.”
Aethelind grinned, and looked up at him. “I will,” she promised. He cupped her cheek affectionately. Though she had believed she would see each of the Vikings again, looking at her, Heahmund somehow felt this would be their final meeting. Something in him said he wouldn’t see her again.
“Warrior Princess,” he said quietly. “Beloved by God.” He paused a moment, and smiled slightly. “Farewell.”
Aethelind could feel the finality in his words, could tell he didn’t believe they would see each other again. And the way he spoke, she felt the same way. “Farewell, Bishop Heahmund,” she almost whispered. “Take care of Lagertha. She doesn’t need it, but.. She deserves it. We both know that.”
“We do,” he agreed. “And I will.”
Aethelind smiled, and nodded, before pulling away and going to board the boat. He stood and watched once the captain was on board as well, the small crew taking it out to sea. Both Warrior Bishop and Warrior Princess watched each other as she was carried away, until the boat was just a speck on the horizon for the Bishop. He waited a little longer, until she had disappeared entirely, to turn, and begin his walk back to the castle
Likewise, Aethelind watched until the coast, and all land, had disappeared from sight. At that point, she turned, and looked out to the horizon. Wessex was now behind her, and as she held the mast, watching the sea stretch out before her, something deep inside her felt as if it woke, called for the sea, for the fjords she sailed for. The daughter of Athelstan was finally making her way to Kattegat.

In Defense of Marilyn Manson
Just kidding.
This is another one of those ‘if you live under a rock, you might not know what is going on’ pieces. But because this story appears to be unfolding daily, I’d think you’ve heard a murmur here or there even if you haven’t really paid too much attention to it because for many, I think this may fall into the “that guy has been a messed-up weirdo for years so I’m not surprised” category.
Please note that in NO WAY I am making fun of this situation, but I learned a long time ago that I require a certain amount of humor to be able to digest much of what this world presents to me.
As always, let me give you the Coles Notes version with the hopes you will go and do your own reading as well.
On February 1 actress Evan Rachel Wood posted this on her Instagram:
"The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson. He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent."
Quick history lesson – They started dating in 2007 when she was 18 and he was 34 and were engaged for a brief time in 2010.
This was Manson’s response to what she wrote:
"Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality. My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how - and why - others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth."
Since the original statement on February 1 a number of women have come forward with stories of their own ranging from physical and emotional abuse to human trafficking. And everyday something new is revealed. Evan Rachel Woods is feverishly posting on her Insta-Story and is slowly burying Manson in an ocean of consequences. She isn’t “fired up” or “a woman scorned”, she is a victim rising above the shame she has felt and the fear of what others will say about her to tell her story and encourage others to do the same. She is the voice that started the ball rolling. The ball that is about to crush Marilyn Manson.
Whenever I write stuff that is currently being heavily featured in the media, I always dive into articles so I can get as much information as possible. But more importantly, I plunge my sensitive little soul into the murky depths known as “the comments section”. I do this because unlike those polished, finished pieces the comments section will give you a better idea of what your fellow human beings think and feel about the topic at hand. And it is never polished or even polite. And often not for the faint at heart. In case you didn’t already know – people can be quite terrible.
The comments section is the modern-day gladiator pit. Only most (not all) of the participants are not ripped, athletic warriors but rather drooling basement dwellers with one hand down their pants (not gender specific by the way) and the other hand maltreating the letters on their keyboard.
Side note: Look, I am not the grammar police as I often just push past all the warnings from the Gestapo editing program in Microsoft Word. BUT I know the value of proper spelling, well placed punctuation and valid attempts to appear smarter than a domesticated turkey by making sure sentences are well-thought out and complete. Raising your argument doesn’t mean USING ALL CAPS AND ABUSING THESE THINGS -> !!!
I just deleted three paragraphs going over the recent “reckoning” that has taken place in the past few years with regards to sexual and physical abuse accusations against (mostly) men in positions of some kind of power. I eliminated all that writing because I started to tumble off topic. I’m not writing about all the dicks now getting their comeuppance, but rather the reactions to it being Marilyn Manson’s turn in the chamber.
Victim shaming is sadly a real thing.
The easiest way I can explain this to you – if a person gets pickpocketed and then blamed because they should’ve known better than to carry their wallet in their back pocket.
Evan Rachel Woods and others have come out to accuse Manson of some pretty appalling acts of abuse and what I’ve found to be the biggest reaction is, “How did they not know he was a bad guy? His music is so graphic and they thought it was all an act? Why did they stay so long?”. As innocent as those questions might seem, and I say that because our brains don’t always serve us or others well, it is a form of discrediting those women. Let’s be honest here… it’s hard to look at Marilyn Manson and his art form and not say, “What the fuck, this guy has bad idea written all over him!”. I feel that is a perfectly reasonable response, but that is where it should end. I think it is fair to pause and attempt to understand the choices of others, but it’s heartless to minimize their experience by placing blame on them for a situation we couldn’t possibly understand if it has never happened to us.
And like I’ve quoted before: People only understand from their level of perception. But that doesn’t stop them from laying on the judgement and damaging already fragile individuals with their inability to show compassion for a fellow human being. Reading through comment sections isn’t just maddening, it’s disappointing and sad but also a real look into how awful many people feel about themselves… to the point where they seem to derive some pleasure or satisfaction from condemning a rape victim for wearing a short skirt and getting drunk.
So… we have to touch on this to be balanced: innocent until proven guilty. Only these days it’s an automatic trial by media with the public acting as judge, jury and executioner. This is where “cancel culture” steps in and within days can destroy an entire career / life. I am not a fan of cancel culture. It does not give people a chance to learn from their mistakes or make amends as it immediately harms their very existence. Often times even before any proof has surfaced. I don’t think I need to tell you how dangerous this is… the fact that just an accusation could ruin your life.
Let me make this clear: if someone comes forward and claims they’ve been sexually assaulted/abused, they need to be taken seriously and not dismissed based upon the circumstances, their gender identity, the color of their skin, their economic position or profession or the person they’re accusing. In turn, the individual being accused should be given time to address the claims before the public begins demolishing their life.
A reoccurring comment in almost all these cases where someone comes forward and alleges abuse YEARS after it happened, is – “Why did they wait so long to come forward?”.
Is this a fair question? Sure. And I feel it is asked because our brain needs to find a way to understand the information we are being given. Because while we’d all like to think that if in the same situation we’d be unfuckable with and anyone who dared to bring damage to our doorstep would immediately suffer the consequences, we actually cannot predict our reaction. There are too many unknown variables to be able to confidently say we’d instantly speak up and seek retribution.
The fear of not being believed. The fear of being blamed. The fear of rejection. The fear of retaliation from the person being accused. The fear of being forever defined by your experience. The fear.
It does not matter the why, what matters is the chance they’ve taken by speaking up at all. Those who come forward should be embraced, not ridiculed. Not abandoned. Not criticized.
“Don’t ask why victims wait so long to speak up. Ask what systems were in place to keep them quiet”. Anonymous
I own a few Marilyn Manson CD’s. And I’ve even attended one of his concerts. Would I say I am a fan? Probably a number of years ago I was but truthfully, I’ve not paid attention to any of his music in recent years because I feel it devolved while my taste evolved. That’s not a slam against him or anyone who fancies his work, it’s more a statement on how I’ve matured and now seek out music that feels authentic to me.
The one concert I attended was opened by Courtney Love. I know, what a duo to pay money to see. Near the end of Manson’s set he made a disparaging remark about Love and trashed her music. At the time he was wearing some pretty hefty platform shoes so it made it all the more hilarious when from out of nowhere she charged like a rhino and tackled him to the stage; throwing punches at his head all the way down. When he finally was able to get up, he announced the show was over. There would be no encore and then him and his bandmates trashed the stage in a temper tantrum worthy of a toddler Napoleon. Still makes me laugh to this day.
Shoutout to Evan Rachel Wood and her most recent movie ‘Kajillionaire’. Watched it on demand about a month ago and it’s a brilliant comedy that will also pull at your heart. I highly recommend you give it a chance.

The First Quietest Room in the World: Anechoic Chamber at Orfield Laboratories
By Panada Phradum
The ‘Anechoic Chamber’ at Orfield Laboratories once was the quietest room in the world in 2004. As of 2015, Microsoft also developed the quiet room and took the quietest record. This room is in Orfield Laboratories, located in South Minneapolis, United States.
The Anechoic Test Chamber at Orfield Laboratories was deemed the quietest place on Earth in 2004 - Daily Mail Photo
This room’s surface can absorb the sound 99.99 %, which means an echo of only 0.01 %. This room has a negative background noise at - 9.4 dBA. On average, people can stay up only 30 minutes, and the person who can stay the longest is at 45 minutes. When someone enters this silent room, they will adjust to the silence. However, this quiet room can drive us insane with its silence. This is because we will hear the sound of the breathing, working organs in the body, and every motion will be heard. We are the ones who created sound. Steven Orfield, the owner of this laboratory, said “When it’s quiet, ears will adapt. The quieter the room, the more things you hear. You'll hear your heart beating, sometimes you can hear your lungs, hear your stomach gurgling loudly.” This room is very quiet because the materials used to build this room are fiberglass 3.3 foot thick, foot thick concrete, and double-wall insulated steel to block the noise’s external source.

A man who can bear to stay up to 45 minutes name George Foy. He demanded to find a place where he can escape surround noises after he surrounded by a crowded subway, he told the Guardian. After he experienced this disorienting experience, he found out that it is ‘peace’ that the human wants, not a quiet place. This experience gives a lesson in his life that this quiet room is a place in the world that can give you a serene place and find peace for yourself.
Therefore, the information in this post could give a message that finding a quiet moment each day is the source of happiness. It allows the human to think about what you want to do. This is because we cannot stay focused if we keep distracted by the outside world’s impulsion.

Pantheon of Influence
The fate that awaits Elizabeth as the daughter of a media entrepreneur turns out to be a heavy burden. Left with an Empire of «old fashioned» media, that is on the edge of abyss. (…) times change and the Empire is no longer what it was. [1] The newspaper of the day, fashion, both go out of fashion, the news quickly becomes outdated. [2] The heritage in danger, it requires an effort to adapt to the changing conditions. She (…)felt a thread of a sense of personal responsibility associated with the deep, deep fear of loss. [1]
The solution for preserving new media culture lies not in attempting to circumvent its variability with outdated notions of fixity, but rather in embracing the essential nature of the medium and transforming its greatest challenge into a defense against obsolescence. [3] While “old” media such as print, film, and television traffic in immaterial representations that can be reproduced endlessly for any number of viewers, the interactivity of “new” media draws it closer to live performance. [4] As the secular empire faded, a new idea of spiritual domination that had been growing quietly and slowly in seclusion slipped into the great house of the dying world giant. [5] Moreover, the motive behind the writing of history was not objective curiosity, but a desire to influence contemporaries, to stimulate and uplift them, or to hold a mirror up to them. [6]
The new Brand of Elizabeth Murdoch stands above the chaotic noise of information and
media. From the elevated platform vision is unobstructed. [7] At that height one could look into the top rooms from the elevated pathway. [8]
In all of these media we see a number of consistent patterns. [9]
That assemblage is the “ megamachine,” or the apparatus of capture, the archaic empire. [10] (…) Elizabeth always tried to talk as though there were lots of people in it with her. [1] Her new brand is not defined by its clear agenda but the appropriation of viral phenomenons. Consisting of Influencers, attracted by their striving for fame and recognition.
The gods have entered the “cultivated” world; they no longer speak through the moving figures of animals and natural elements but through those of a sedentary pantheon that takes charge of society and supports the activity of transforming the world. [11] The image (…) shifted from social crusader and aesthetic puritan to trendsetter and media star. [12] But they somehow function together in structuring the social life process, as complementary media, each with its own specific affordances and limitations. [13] The crowd, a compact mass, a locus of multiple exchanges, individualities merging together, a collective effect, is abolished and replaced by a collection of separated individualities. [14] The media become the messengers, rather than the message. [15] The type of frame used to present information dramatically affects how people make decisions and judgments, and is consequently a powerful influencer of behaviour. [16]
Therefore, this new type of Pantheon is created by Elizabeth. Gathering selected contemporary influencers under her roof.
Influencers such as: Owners of different Media outlets, Presidents like Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, modern industrialist entrepreneur like Steve Jobs or Bill Gates. [17] very bright people, like Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk. [18] CEO of Social media Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Search engines Sundai Pichai, Environmental activists like Greta Thunberg, Sport Stars like Roger Federer or Cristiano Ronaldo, Or trash media stars like the Kardashians.
The overall effect of the display (…) is create an exotic display; a sort of cabinet of curiosities. [19]Contradicting and supplementing each other. Her palace a place to collect them all.
The facade was well constructed, composed of bricks, glass walls and windows. [20] The field of glass bricks is ordered in a raster of a thin solid framework made of white granite with black frames and stripes indicating the main direction. [21]
Hall of Fame
The entrance was discreet, with a rounded metal railing. [22] Leading into the Hall of Fame. Inside, you confront a wall of glass bricks set in concrete in a black steel frame at the back of a standard Paris type courtyard, with two steel ladders flying up on either side, and some massive floodlamps carried on clever steel brackets. [23] Self reconfiguring building skins (…)filter both urban noise and airborne toxins.[24] Creating a place which was quiet, well lit (…). [25] Only selected and high-quality materials are used. The atmosphere was perfect, the moment sweet for something sacred. [26]
It’s is the Place Elizabeth welcomes her guests. Start with a house cocktail—say, L’Alsacien, in which the aperitif Belle de Brillet meets cognac, pear, and fresh lemon in a happy union. [27] Everyone shouts and has an alcoholic smile(…) A French aperitif is taken when you are seated around a table. There are two, three, four persons. You have chosen your companions. You drink slowly. [28]
Chamber of Feasts
In the dining room, meals were served family style at long tables that could seat 150 guests. [29] Only the finest dishes made by world class chefs are served. This dinner the place for debate and disputes. This performance, itself enough to win great fame,(…) [30] It resembles a Sensation drama: play that intends to create strong effects. [31] Harmony and dissonance of ideas create a rough and interesting music. [32] The principal requirements of a summer dining room are water and greenery; of a winter one, the warmth of a hearth.[33] Both should preferably be spacious, cheery, and splendid. [33] For this reason, distribute more spacious intercolumniations around the performance space. [34] (…) the walls of the ceremonial chamber were covered with purple tapestries embroidered in gold, specially made for this feast. [5]
Oracle of Artificial Intelligent
In the middle, as in the center of a house, there is an Capsule, roofed, spacious, and majestic; (…) their lineaments taken from the Etruscan temple, as we have described it. [33] Enter the oracle. [35] Intensifying the color, lights, and excitement of Broadway by translating the commercial message into form and color, a wordless interpretation of New York. [33] The “Oracle (…)” presented a head that seemed to float in space. [36] Commercial constructions such as Apple’s Siri and more recently Microsoft’s Cortana are quite literal but archetypal examples of “the guide” or “concierge,” elsewhere manifested as the guide, oracle, or personal secretary. [37] There is no knowing how far a real image may lead: the importance of becoming visionary or seer. [38] Is it Illusionism, confusion, or manipulation? [39]
Paris
Paris. [40] Facing Notre Dame, a church for one god. In close Proximity to the existing Panthéon, a symbol of glory and a burial place of famous French personalities.
Elizabeth's palace does not require the physical size of those buildings of past times. It is not dependent on its rigidity but flexibility to accomodate as much power as possible. In the digital age, power is no longer seen through its built image in stone, but through the power of those present. The once powerful institutions have lost their power. Today, the influence changes rapidly from person to person, from ideology to ideology, from institution to institution.
Elizabeth's pantheon is a machine to capture those all new and constantly changing influence.

I can stab people with this!” “Seriously? That was your one Koala joke?” “Try believing in the heart of the cards.” “Quiet, you sorcerer.” “If you’re seeing this, (name), it either means I’m dead, leaving behind a very fabulous looking corpse, or my soul has been captured.” “Maybe it had something very kinky on it and 4Kids had to censor it.” “I’ll leave that up to the fanfic authors.” “I’ll write a highly unfavorable research paper about you! With inconclusive findings!” “I feel like I should be concerned, but I just can’t stop thinking about how Copernicus is such a stupid name for a horse.” “You know that thing takes people’s souls and I found it on a dead guy, right?” “That was acting, children! Bravo for me!” “According to my research, I’m in a crapload of pain.” “Learned that trick from playing Super Mario World.” “I’ll just be over here wibbling to myself. Please, pay me no mind.” “Okay, everyone. I’m going to go scream into a pillow for the next five minutes.” “Are you telling me that we can't build an elevator into space?! Because that sounds like something a guy who doesn't want to keep his job would say!” “And let me tell you one last thing. All those times I got angry and declared that I would have my vengeance on you: I WAS FAKING!” “I'm glad we spent all our money on this bag of potato chips and generic brand soda.” “By the way, I memorized several dozen dinosaur puns, just so I could use them in this.” “The only reunion that’s about to happen is my size ten up your buttocks!” “Dorō! Monsutā Kādo!” “You're right, (name). I lost control. At the end of the day, this is just a game.” “We’re going to disturb the spirits of the dead! Yay!” “What the fuck even is this season!?” “Won’t somebody fetch me some ice cream!?” “I’m old and I hold a stick. That automatically makes me the wisest person in the valley.” “It’s a good thing I played all that Assassin’s Creed!” “It’s a good thing I played all that Banjo Kazooie!” “Oh, thank God, because I really wasn’t listening to any of that. Any of it.” “Now, I have to go back down there and challenge that vulture to a card game.” “Okay, (name), I’m going to level with you; I may have lied about the pizza.” “It makes me look really bonkers cool while I kick the shit out of you.” “Actually, he says his name is Cornelius Jr. and he wants to play basketball, just like how his father wanted him to.” “You can talk to snakes!?” “Hey, are you sure it’s safe for us to fly straight into that strange weather phenomenon?” “I guess we’d better confront whatever villain of the week that is.” “Well, these buttons look important.” “We mostly get by using our street smarts and ingenuity.” “No, I'm mad because I never wanted to know what one of Hideo Kojima's wet dreams looked like, and now I do, so thanks for that.” “I swear on my life we didn't keep a single flying war machine of death.” “Well, it would be way more intimidating if its face wasn't so damn adorable.” “Yeah, they’re dead. Dibs on their crappy broken stuff!” “Did you guys notice that this episode had the exact same ending as Bee Movie?” “I'm also glad we're not going to Florida as it means that we are not going to Florida.” “OK, but wait! I'm almost to the part where we met two ghosts in the California desert who just happened to be related to the guy we're fighting. Oh God, you're right; it's all just bullshit, isn't it?” “Breaking stuff will fix it!” “I'm bi a lot of things, but lingual is not one of them.” “Welcome back, asshole.” “Hey (name), wanna reenact a scene from Back to the Future Part II?” “I'd rather throw myself off the roof.” “Damn you, Microsoft Flight Simulator!” “Yes, but you had to steal my catchphrase to do it! Is nothing sacred to you?” “That is the single most offensive thing anyone has ever said to me.” “OK, children, from now on, everybody uses the Buddy System. When I say "Go," I want you all to choose a buddy and form an everlasting and inseparable bond between them 'till death do you part. OK, go!” “(Name), remember, whatever happens, you mustn't become an evil little sh*thead.” “Suckers! Consider yourselves ditched.“ “Well if any other anime in existence has taught me anything, most of the drama tends to happen on...the roof.“ “Just my luck. Dork Fest continues.“ “No! It's got a scythe. The deadliest farming implement known to man.“ “This heavy-hearted metaphor was brought to you by Da, a subsidiary of Doy, Inc.” “OK, this is also total BS. When I came back from the dead, I didn't get a chorus of heavenly music and a light show.“ “It's a good thing I'm so buff or that fall would've killed me.“ “(Name), promise me you're not going to embarrass me in front of the U.S. Military.” “ Guys, I think we took a wrong turn, because I'm pretty sure this is the Chamber of Secrets.” “Those aren't Funko Pops! They're much more disturbing!” “Yeah, makes your measly five thousand years look like a five thousand years of being a bitch, bitch.“ “Okay, but why are we in space?” “I have no idea who that is. You are talkin' fucking crazy right now, man. Are you okay? Do you need water? How long were you in the desert for?“ “For the record, I was dressing up in suits of armor before it was cool.“ “(Name), this is like, the third time you've tried to murder one of my friends, stop it!” “Nah. As a teenager with unlimited access to the Internet, I get to do that every day.” “As I was saying, (name) is a damn handsome and valuable person. Thank goodness for them.” “They died as they lived... pissing me off.” “Okay, who let the posh shithead in here?” “I'm so happy you escaped the cold embrace of death so that I could experience your deathly cold embrace again!“ “Wow. My eBay sensors are tingling.“ “You know, we really have no idea where this portal will take us, but I have total confidence in this decision.“ “None of this matters to you! You're already dead! Blah, blah, blah, omae wa mou shindeiru.” “Glad we came all the way up here so that we could not know what was going on.“ “Does this mean I can take back all the nice things I said?“ “I'm not doing any of those things. I'm just enjoying being with you.”

Part 76 Alignment May Vary: Portents and Prophecies
Welcome to the continuing adventures of Alignment May Vary, our twice a month gaming group! We’ve been playing the same narrative for three years this month, with tons of twists and turns along the way. You can now hear the dramatized episodes at our website, Alignment May Vary.
In the last session, long time player character Aldric was killed by another player character, Imoaza, in an unseen betrayal out in the cold of space. Carrick, the third PC, is unaware of the betrayal as the group tries to figure out what to do about their current predicament.
Days pass. The situation on board the (still unnamed) Surveyor ship goes from desperate to grim. The power surge used to fight off the asteroid spiders has left the ship’s crystal depleted. What fuel they have is being used to keep life systems active, but this will fail within the week and the party is adrift in some unknown corner of space, surrounded only by asteroid dust and the wreckage of previous ships who have become stranded here.
The dreadful monotony, the slow wait for the end, is broken by one major event: a capsule adrift in the wreckage around them suddenly comes to life and starts sending out a signal. Retrieving it and bringing it on board, Carrick and Imoaza find it is a life capsule identical in most ways to the one they saw Carrick’s double in, back on Faerun. That tells them this is Surveyor technology, though it looks older even than that capsule. Carrick, accessing his Surveyor memories, figures out how to open the capsule, to reveal...
... nothing. The capsule is empty.
But it wasn’t empty very long ago. Its inhabitant has the ability to shift through space using the ethereal plane and now he appears beside the party, a hulking humanoid robot with red glowing eyes who raises his hand to stri-- or no, raises it in greeting to Carrick.
“Ah! Greetings. My name is Milosh. Are you the Surveyor?”
“No,” Carrick replies. “At least not the one you are probably looking for.”
“Ah! My visual senses tell me you are a 93% match for the Surveyor. Ah! I have come to serve the surveyor and stop the prophecy.”
Meet Milosh, our new PC (following Shando, Abenthy, Trakki, and Aldric... we’ve had quite a few player characters over the course of this epic).
Milosh, the Seeker of Prophecy
Milosh is a Warforged out of the recent Wayfinder’s Guide to Eberon. He is, visually, a little like a Mechanical Groot. He is, personality wise, a lot like the Paper Clip office assistant from 1997′s Microsoft Word. His backstory is that he was created by one of the Surveyors ages ago, centuries ago, to hunt down and stop a certain prophecy, a prophecy we’ve heard about before, involving the three figures: a devil, an angel, and a dragonborn. But while he was traveling to his destination, which would eventually become known as Faerun, his ship was caught in the Asteroid Spider’s webs and destroyed. He managed to escape and has been floating in stasis ever since. In the ages that have gone by, his memory banks have been damaged and now he cannot recall the full prophecy or even his full abilities. But he does know how to transform his right arm into a variety of weapons and tools and uses this to form a variety of special attacks, including a photon blast and a drill arm.
His personality is a little... simple. He says “Ah!” before every sentence, usually while holding up a finger, and runs off of very literal interpretations of his surroundings, relying on old programs in his working memory banks to get him through situations like combat or social etiquette.
This leads to some awkward (and funny) moments, such as when the party tells Fiona that Aldric has passed. She isn’t sure how to respond and also being a robot doesn’t do the best job of it...
“Where is Aldric? He’s dead?? Oh! I guess... Wow!”
... but she tries to give Milosh some advice, at least. Fiona tells him that bad news is best given with a smile and exuberance. And his response...
“Ah! I am unable to smile.”
The group also tells Milosh about the suspected traitor somewhere on the ship, the one who changed the bearings on the party in the first place, dropping them on Hell, and the one who erased the footage showing evidence of the deed. Milosh agrees to try and help them discover who the traitor is.
Good Moments of Interlude and Development
This session was mostly interlude, originally meant to be a quick connection to the next event, but the players got really into the roleplaying here and so the session became an elongated exploration of the personalities on the ship and their response to the various situations going on. Here are the best moments...
Milosh, with the help of Fiona, tries to access his old memories and also hack into the computer mainframes and learn more information about the traitor. What follows is a fun little hacking mini-game, where Milosh has to devote different levels of energy to different tasks, increasing his chances in some and decreasing it in others, then rolling to see what is successful. Ultimately, he fails to access any thing coherent from his memories, and he also fails to pull out any detailed information about the traitor, but it is still a good moment of personality development for him and gives us a chance to play around with some improvised mechanics. It also sets up the next good scene...
While Milosh plays around inside his head, Carrick and Imoaza decide the best clue they have for discovering the traitor is the ripped piece of leather. They go to talk to Krisp, who has leather gloves, and who the find in the darkened and otherwise empty bridge, staring out into space. This is a good roleplaying moment, as the three of them talk about Aldric. Imoaza keeps her cool and neither of them suspects that she actually murdered Aldric. Krisp is depressed, and asks Carrick if he ever just looked out at it all, at space. He is not his usual boisterous self and is instead contemplative, saying that this is never how a captain thinks they are going to end their days, but now he has captained TWO ships to his death. He also says that it wasn’t fair Aldric had to die, while Krisp had two chances to live his life. Carrick asks about the Horn of Green Company and the horn gets bequeathed to Carrick and renamed the Horn of Silent Sounding, for its power has fallen quiet and it makes no sound. This scene is interrupted by Milosh accidentally tying his memory visions into the bridge mainscreens, replacing the view of the stars with a crazy scene of Nazragul proclaiming his dominion over the world and flashes of an Aasimir and a Tiefling they don’t know. Carrick asks Krisp if he ever knew a Tiefling, and Krisp responds he did, then says it couldn’t possibly be the same one. The whole time, Imoaza is trying to look at Krisp’s gloves, but she ultimately sees no rip or tear.
Carrick meets up with Alyss, who says she wants to celebrate Aldric’s memory. She had built him a bike in secret and planned to teach him to ride, but now instead she gets high with Carrick on some drugs and takes him for a race around an empty cargo bay. The two sit for a long time, reminiscing and bonding until Carrick realizes she always wears a leather jacket. He asks for it, and she thinks he is coming on to her. Thus follows a pretty amazing scene, where Carrick is examining the jacket, then looks up to see Alyss is down to her bra. He is stunned, even more so when she leans in to kiss him. He tells her awkwardly he is a virgin and that he can’t do this, that he isn’t in a headspace to do it. Alyss is surprised and feels a little dumb herself for jumping to conclusions. She ends up telling him it doesn’t have to be awkward between them and not to worry. However, as she is getting dressed, Carrick notices that she has recently covered a hole in her jacket with a new patch. In honor of Aldric (it reads, “The Green Company”) but there is a lingering question now as to her innocence.
There is a funeral for Aldric, with some suitably bad speeches from Krisp. Among the lines he offers are this gem: “We will all be dead soon, but that’s longer than Aldric got.” Milosh accesses his memory banks and uses his vocal processor to play sad music in honor of Aldric. Aldric’s goblin kids are there, Alyss is there... heck, everyone is there except, noticeably, Otto (one of Krisp’s lieutenants). We’ll come back to this in a moment...
Maybe my favorite moment is when Milosh and Carrick hunt down Alyss, with the goal of figuring out if she was the traitor. Milosh asserts he has sensors in his hands that can detect traces of DNA on the leather scrap and, if he can gain physical contact with Alyss, he can see if the DNA is a match. Carrick agrees they should try it and so they find Alyss near her chambers in the mid section of the ship and Carrick introduces her to Milosh.
It’s such a great scene. There is some sexual tension left over between Alyss and Carrick and Alyss plays it up for fun, making Carrick as uncomfortable as possible. Then, knowing Milosh is such an outrageously naive personality makes all of his approaches to the situation hilarious. He boldly sticks out his hand and says (ah!) he understands that humans have a custom wherein they must grip hands when they meet and he would be delighted to try it. Bemused, Alyss takes his proffered hand and Carrick breathes a sigh of relief, thinking they now have their sample. Then Milosh says, “Ah! Now we must stay like this for two minutes.”
“It takes that long to get a sample?!” Carrick whispers in Milosh’s ear.
“Yes,” Milosh explains loudly. “This process takes five minutes to gather the appropriate data.”
Now thoroughly wierded out, Alyss extracts her hand from Milosh’s grip and he fails to get the sample. So then he tries another tact: he asks to see her jacket. Suspicious now, Alyss asks why and Carrick stutters and speaks for him, saying that he’s hoping Milosh can make a copy of it for him to wear. Milosh barely registers that this is an attempt at skullduggery and manages to keep silent until Alyss, after a brief hesitation, agrees to the request. “This your new wingman, Carrick?” she asks, making light of the situation. Carrick doesn’t get the joke. Alyss sighs and explains, “because he got my shirt off for you, again. Nevermind...”
Milosh examines the jacket while Carrick tries to distract Alyss, asking about Otto’s absence from the funeral. She says she hadn’t noticed, but then she hasn’t seen him around in a couple of days.
Suddenly Milosh says, “Ah! Surveyor, I have new information! The sample matches the jacket.”
Now armed with evidence, Carrick turns on Alyss and confronts her, demanding to know why she erased the footage of the ship’s sabotage. She cocks her head and says, as if it’s obvious, “Because I didn’t want you to see that it was me on the footage.”
And right on cue, hearing this, Milosh says, “Ah! Surveyor, I have new information!” As if that wasn’t painfully obvious.
Alyss proceeds to give an explanation for her actions, though not an apology. She says that in life, she was the leader of a powerful cult that worshipped Asmodeus and in death she sought to join his retinue in Hell, only to find he had disappeared during the Blood War. Obsessed with finding him, she wanted to bring to pass the prophecy that the Abyss would return if a devil ever left Hell. To do that, she needed outsiders to come with a ship. She secretly resurrected old technology, excavating it from the deserts around the Hell city, and eventually built herself a ship capable of at least leaving the atmosphere. She also fixed up tech that could detect when a ship would pass through Hell’s space. That is how she found and got onboard the Surveyor’s ship.
“I checked the original coordinates, you know,” she tells Carrick. “It was heading for a corner of space ruled by the Mind Flayers. That would have been a bad fate for you all, if you’d even survived to see it. By the time I boarded your ship, a critical failure had occurred in one of your engines. You had left warp space and were drifting slowly towards your destination on momentum alone. It would have been centuries before you reached it. In a way, I saved you by bringing you down to Hell.”
She further tells him that she has a piece of Asmodeus which she will use to find his body in the Abyss, once the way becomes clear. But she does not elaborate more and, not seeing her as an immediate threat, Carrick lets her go to contemplate what all this might mean.
Moving On
During the funeral Imoaza happens to spot Otto down a corridor and he is acting very strange, walking around stiffly and stopping to stare directly at her. Curious, she follows him down several corridors to a large room where she sees Otto addressing in a foreign language all of the Fiona and Bobs, the androids of the ship, gathered and floating cross legged in the air. Startled, she tries to flee, but suddenly is targeted by a psychic attack! Fending off visions of Aldric and Hecate (for those who don’t remember, that’s her dead daughter, who has been trying to kill her for a while), she runs down the ship’s corridors with Otto in pursuit. He catches up to her, but does not attack. Instead, he explains that he is not Otto, but is simply borrowing Otto’s body to be able to observe the crew and see if they can help his people.
It is soon revealed that Otto has been taken over by a Githzerai psychic, whose myriad companions have also taken over the systems of the Fiona’s and Bobs and who now proceed to hold the players hostage... well, sort of. In a mutually beneficial way.
Essentially, it turns out the players have invaded, by accident (or at least they think it’s by accident), a sector of space that is being fought over by the Githyanki and the Githzerai. The Githyanki have had the upper hand for many years and have captured an ancient Stardock carved out of an asteroid deep in the asteroid field and have essentially barred all ways in. The Githzerai “bored” a new way through the space between space, but their path was discovered recently and retaken by the Githyanki. In this same battle, the leader of the Githzerai lost his son, Ezria, to the Githyanki and Ezria is now being held captive on Stardock. The Githzerai cannot go after him because the Githyanki are scanning for ‘zerai brain patterns and would detect them immediately.
What the ‘zerai want the players to do, therefore, is to send a team of three humanoids into this space-between-space, and from there have them enter and infiltrate Stardock, rescue Ezria, and return. If they succeed in saving their kin, the ‘zerai will help them by using their prodigious powers to recharge their crystal with enough energy to get them to Faerun. This long space journey is nearing its end!
The players agree to this (their only other option, honestly, is to float out here until they become space dust). They are the perfect candidates, besides: a warforged, a yuan-ti, and a half elf with the brain signature of a Surveyor are unusual enough that they will definitely slip under the Githyanki radar.
And so the Githzerai open a portal to the space between worlds and the players teleport through... though not before Immerstal takes Carrick aside and warns him that Imoaza now carries the Rod of Storms and that could be a very dangerous thing for the universe, if she fails to control its power. Or chooses to abuse it.
And one last thing...
Alyss sat crosslegged on the floor of the ventilation chamber, the altar to Asmodeus before her. Her hands were clenched tightly, her nails drawing blood from her palms as she concentrated. With a gasp, she made the connection and opened her eyes as in front of her a portal appeared.
“Took long enough.” The taunting voice of Puck broke her concentration and she turned to him with a snarl.
“It wasn’t easy to tap into the Gith’s power. And it won’t stay open for long.”
The little impish devil hovered in the air lazily, raising a red bushy eyebrow at her. “Are you sure you are ready for this? The abyss is not a place for those who are not fully sure of who they are.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“What did you tell Carrick about your past? Did you tell him the truth?”
“What I told him doesn’t matter. I know who I am. But more importantly, I know my purpose.” She grunted and rose to her feet. “Coming?”

Roleplay Server Log #245
“Deerheart vs DN”
-Le next morning-
[Lie] - CP... We have to get up
[CP] - Nope
[Lie] - CP, I have animals to tend to
[CP] - Call Steffan over chat and have him do it
[Lie] Manages to turn so she's looking at her husband- That deletion... It really scared you, didn't it...
[CP] Shifts uncomfortable but his wife knows it's a confirmation-
[Lie] Runs her hand through his hair- It's alright, he can't get you here. Deleting your mobs drew the attention of Microsoft so Jeb was actually able to get us his identification number. Doc has black listed him, he cannot get you here
[CP] - Lie... He threatened to go after Stevie next...
[Lie] - Oh...
[Steve] Taps on the door with TLOT standing behind him-
[Lie] Yells from bedroom- Come in!
[Steve] Squeaks the door open - You guys decent?
[Lie] - Yeah, just a little stuck in bed
[TLOT] My favorite place.
[Steve] Scoots into the room sheepishly. He looks ready to run-
[CP] - What do you fuckers want?
[TLOT] Just to tell you we're glad you're all better. And... make a delivery.
[CP] - A delivery?
[Steve] Pulls out a huge stack of papers and sets them gingerly on the bed- It's all done. - Then he darts behind his husband fearfully.
[CP] Growls-
[Lie] - Shush, I'm the one who had to take care of your mobs and I have no idea how to do that sort of stuff
[Steve] I didn't grant any of the more extravagant requests! I promise!
[CP] Grumbles-
[Lie] - Do you want me to take the paper work back to Winston?
[CP] - No!
[TLOT] Especially since he's free to just come here and get them. Your mobs are in a diminished state, Cp. For the record, I'm sure Doc's offer to put them on a safe seed they can wreck is still valid.
[Lie] - I told your mobs to lay low and stay hidden... But I'm not sure how well they'll listen
[CP] - Most of them should, but some will probably still be idiots and go out
[TLOT] Then it will likely be survival of the smartest. As far as your NOTCH knows, provided their are no traitors amongst them, you are dead. That does give us a small advantage.
[CP] - But that also means until we're ready to strike, I can't return there
[TLOT] Are you sure you don't want to move them? There's a chance your NOTCH may amuse himself by just deleting them all.
[CP] - No, he was doing that to draw my attention, to draw me out
[TLOT] If you say so. He seems a cruel and calculating sort. I wouldn't be suprised if he just decided to go after everyone you love as well.
[CP] Mumbles something, he remembers him threatening to go after Stevie next-
[TLOT] Picks up on the thought - monster. Well he can't get in and Stevie has no wish to get out, so that settles that.
[CP] - That doesn't change the fact that he threatened it, he's never done anything malicious towards Stevie before
[TLOT] Stevie was on his side before.
[CP] - But which side is he on now? Certainly not mine
[TLOT] He is more on your side then you realize. And at the least, he's is on Markus's side, and Markus dotes on you. He'll also give Stevie crap if he's nasty to you.
[CP] Grumbles-
[Lie] - Anyways, thank you for doing the paper work Steve, I would have just gotten really lost on it
[Steve] You're welcome. - Stays firmly behind TLOT-
[CP] - Will you two fuck off now?
[Lie] - CP we have to get out of bed, my animals still need to be tended to
[TLOT] She has a good point Cp. I know you're worried, but she's safe here. And so are you.
[CP] - Don't care
[Lie] - CP!
[Steve] Sneaks towards the door -
[TLOT] Oh, just get up. I'm sure Lie is hungry too, and it's a lovely day outside.
[CP] Grumbles but does release his wife-
[Lie] Gives CP a quick kiss on the forehead before getting out of bed and looking for her shoes-
[TLOT] Offers Cp a hand - How are you feeling?
[CP] - I'm fine- Bat's TLOT's hand away
[TLOT] Shakes his head- Same as always.
[Lie] Pulls on her boots and heads outside, running a little behind schedule-
[CP] Groans but does get out of the bed and follows her, giving Steve a brief glare-
[Steve] Shrinks a bit and gets out of his way.
[TLOT] Just follows them both outside and gives a languid strech.
[Notch] Is sprinkling some fish flakes into the tiny koi pond.
[Lie] - Morning Notch- She has to speak kinda loudly to be heard over her hungry barking dogs
[Notch] Good morning Lie! You look chipper.
[Lie] - Relieved to have my husband back
[TLOT] Now all they need is a night of passion and both of them will be chipper.
[Steve] Snickers -
[Notch] His thought is a bit too loud. A passionate night with Cp rather then Doc-
[CP] Catches the thought- WHAT WAS THAT!?
[Notch] Jumps in fright-
[CP] Takes to flight and quickly rushes of towards the castle-
[Lie] - Oh dear...
[Notch] What did I do?!
[Lie] - You thought about yesterday, that's all
[TLOT] Yesterday?
[Doc] Is out in the garden using the black hoe to plant some seeds. Hir expression is melancholy and thoughtful. But for the moment he's not around and it's just hir and Yaunfen romping in the flowers.
[CP] - DOC!- He lands hard, causing the grass to be removed from the block he landed on
[Yaunfen] - Big fire!
[CP] - You shut the fuck up
[Doc] Is so startled they end up holding the hoe in front of them like a weapon and just shaking-
[CP] Notices it- The fuck is that?
[Doc] It's a.... hoe?
[CP] Growls- Why do you have it?
[Doc] Because... Tungsten made it, and Lie said you already had one someplace?
[CP] Yanks it from Doc's grasp to look at it more closely, completely forgetting his original reason for coming-
-The hoe is heavily pixelated, but the whirling designs are still visible in the color gradients-
[CP] Frowns as he turns it over, his mind now preoccupied with something else/ He simply teleports off with the hoe-
[Yaunfen] - Where big fire go?
[Doc] I don't know. But I do have the sense I just dodged a fireball. Dammit. He better give that back. I really like that tool.
-The middle of the night-
[CP] Had spent the day avoiding everyone, staying mostly down in his private chambers where he had passed the paperwork back to Winston and had Winston bring him something else. Once certain his wife was asleep he crept out of the house and towards the village-
[CP] Sticks to the shadows as he makes his way towards the blacksmiths house, lipping inside and looking around. It's relatively clean and he can see the bed from the entrance. He silently stalks closer and looks at the two figures sleeping soundly in the bed. With a quiet growl he grabs Tungsten and teleports the smith outside and pushes him up against a tree-
[Tungsten] Screams in fear - Cp!
[TLOT] Bolts out of bed, feeling his distress, and throwing in his clothes before running out
[CP] - How?
[Tungsten] How what?! What do you want from me?!
[CP] Pulls out the obsidian hoe-
[Tungsten] Shrinks as if he's about to be hit- Lie said you already had one and it was okay for Doc to take it!
[CP] - How did you know what it looked like?- He pushes on Tungsten a bit harder
[Tungsten] Please don't hurt me! I fixed your other tools! I just mimicked the patterns on them so it would match!
[CP] growls darkly- What is your family line?
[Tungsten] I-I!
[TLOT] Appears beside them- Cp, why are you scaring my favorite blacksmith?
[CP] - None of your fucking business!
[TLOT] He's under my protection, and he's a friend, so it is my business.
[Tungsten] I don't know! Zombies got my parents when I was small!
[CP] Scowls and shoves Tungsten away-
[Tungsten] Why- why do you want to know about my family?
[CP] Scowls and puts Tungsten to sleep-
[TLOT] If you put him in a nightmare for fixing your tools you and me are going to have words. What do you want from him anyway?
[CP] - Have you seen this?- He holds the hoe out
[TLOT] Yes? Doc was using it this morning. It's rather nice, isn't it?
[CP] - This isn't the one Tungsten, it's the original... They look the same
[TLOT] Squints at it- oh. Well when I saw it it was covered in dirt.
[CP] - TLOT, the seed that this smith came from... When a true master came along, that ability was genetic. It would skip many generations before resurfacing again. Technically a normal black smith shouldn't be able to manipulate Obsidian
[TLOT] Ah. But that's your seed. On mine, well, sometimes you find special Testificates. Librarians that can write as well as curate books, tailors who can add a bit of decoration, or a blacksmith who can craft a little bit off the table. They're well respected and make mostly wedding jewelry. Tungsten came to us because of Drilby. He values his lover more then money or notoriety.
[CP] - That may or may not be true TLOT... Very, very rarely there are testificates which can jump seeds
[TLOT] It's true because I've seen it. Ive read far more Testificate minds then the ones who live here. Him specifically? Who knows?
[CP] - It's no use if he can't remember his family lineage
[TLOT] Even if you're right, what difference would it make?
[CP] - Because if your smith is what I suspect...
[TLOT] Yes?
[CP] Frowns- Nevermind, it's pointless if it can't be proven
[TLOT] Do you think he's some kind of legendary smith Cp? I thought you had no interest in Testificates anyway?
[CP] - Shut up- He turns around and starts walking off
[TLOT] Cp, let the poor man out of the dream. And give me Doc's hoe if you have it. You don't need both.
[CP] Flings the newer hoe at TLOT- He'll wake at dawn
[TLOT] Thank you. And the next time you need to know something, come ask me before you rough up my villagers. By the by, why were you yelling at Doc anyway?
[CP] - FUCK! I forgot to do that
[TLOT] Do what? Don't give hir a hard time for no reason. Dn is making hir miserable enough as it is
[CP] - That fucker did something to my wife
[TLOT] Don't be ridiculous Doc would never harm Lie in any way.
[CP] Didn't say xe harmed her!
[TLOT] then why are you obviously mad?
[CP] Growls and gives a mental flash of what he heard in Notch's mind-
[TLOT] oh yes. I'm so sure Doc decided to have a torrid affair with your wife while you and Cn tried to kill eachother in the next room. Don't be silly. It has to be a misunderstanding.
[CP] Growls-
[TLOT] Go talk to Doc if that will make you feel better. But hold your temper. You know
they're no good at lying anyway.
[CP] Flips TLOT off as he walks off-
[Doc] Has woken up from a rather unpleasant dream and is sitting at the kitchen table in the dark, staring morosely at a cup of tea
[CP] Wanders into the castle sending out a mental burst to find Doc-
[Doc] Barely pings back as anything because their energy is so low.
[CP] Still manages to pick up on it and storms down into the kitchen- Dooooc...
[Doc] flat and lifeless- what is it Cp?
[CP] - The fuck did you do to my wife!?
[Doc] listless- what are you talking about Cp?
[CP] - You tell me, Notch had some stray thoughts
[Doc] Thinks for a long moment- oh. I did give her some orgasams because she was stressed out.
[CP] Bristles and growls-
[Doc] I barely touched her, it was just a favor for a good friend. Nothing more.
[CP] - I DON'T CARE!
[Doc] slumps down and puts hir chin on her arms- it was purely for her benefit Cp. Do you seriously consider me a threat to your marriage when I have a mate and child of my own already?
[CP] - Growls- You touched her...
[Doc] I put one gloved hand on her fully clothed body Cp.
[CP] - SO!?
[Dn] So they have no common sense or boundaries as usual- said in an oily smug tone from a shadowed doorway.
[Doc] Winces as though they'd been struck.
[CP] - FUCK OFF!
[Dn] Just raises an eyebrow and chuckles softly-
[CP] - You really don't want to be around me right now fucktard-
[Dn] Not everything is about you.
[Doc] Just go away Dn... Please...
[Dn] No.
[CP] Quickly turns and outright punches DN in the face, hard-
[Dn] is driven backwards by the blow and falls down the steps to the landing of Lj's old room.
[CP] Tosses a couple blocks of bedrock into the entranceway-
[Doc] Holds hirself unhappily - I hate him so much...
[CP] - Seriously, you were so happy earlier, so fuckin stop this pity party
[Doc] Starts to cry, just quietly.
[CP] - Oh now what the fuck is wrong with you?
[Doc] softly- I'm pretty sure you don't care about my problems Cp, so why even ask?
[CP] - Because it's not as fun to berate you when you're like this
[Doc] Sorry, I can't entertain everyone else all the time...
[CP] - Well aren't you snarky tonight
[Doc] quietly- I don't mean to be. But I have feelings too.
[CP] - Then go fucking talk to TLOT, I know he's awake
[Doc] He can sympathize, as I think you could if you wanted too. But in the end, its my problem to deal with...
[CP] - So you're allowed to pry into other's problems, but the same can't be done to you?
[Doc] If you want to help, feel free. But I don't expect anything from anyone.
[CP] - Does it involve beating the crap out of you NOTCH? Because that felt really good... Took my mind off the anger a bit
[Doc] almost a whisper- I wish someone would delete him...
[CP] - Well what's stopping you?
[Doc] I don't know how to even begin to do that. If you haven't noticed, I'm not exactly a killer.
[CP] - Then consult the ones who are
[Doc] Looks him dead in the eyes with a pleading expression. Xe knows the words but can't bring hirself to speak them.
[CP] - Say it Doc- He's delighting in this a bit
[Doc] I can't...
[CP] - Then find me when you can- He turns to leave
[Doc] Takes a breath but the words die on hir lips.
[CP] Is heading up the stairs-
[Doc] Just watches him go.
[Dn] is waiting at the top of the stairs- Are you done?
[CP] Goes to punch him again-
[Dn] Dodges out of the way this time - are you defending them? Or just indulging your love of punching people?
[CP] - Bit of both
[Dn] Backs away into the shadows- then do it elsewhere. I have work of my own to conduct.
[CP] - Nah, I really feel like killing you
[Dn] You really are quite dull.
[CP] - I think the others would disagree
[CP] Lunges at DN and drives his pick through the NOTCH- Believe me, I'm in the mood to kill any NOTCH- He yanks the pick out and watches DN die
/ -Player DarkNOTCH was killed by CreepyPastaHerobrine- /
[Splender] Is walking along after Pinwheel has fallen asleep. He's just taking a stroll to enjoy the night and has wandered a ways-
[Zly Wilk] - Is relaxing in a hammock slung between two trees a little way of the path, His battered coat slung over a low branch nearby. The sleeves of his maroon shirt rolled to the elbows and the high collar unbuttoned. He holds in his hands a battered black guitar.
As he idily strummed the instrument, he looks down at the woman sitting with her back against the tree near him.
[Lazur] - The light blue skinned woman was sitting crosslegged in the grass, now dressed in a leather corset nearly as dark red as her partner's shirt, and dark blue leather tights with black combat boots.
She is concentrating deeply on a display of code scrolling through the air in front of her.
[Zly Wilk] Still nothing?
[Lazur] - shakes her head
[Zly Wilk] Well... Why did you mess with your translation matrix?
[Lazur] Myslalem, ze moge zmodyfikowac mój plik, aby mialo to sens.
[Zly Wilk] I told you it wasn't making sense. I can translate too, you know.
[Lazur] - glares at Zly before making more tweaks to her code. She goes to speak and just makes a sound like static before slapping a hand over her mouth in frustration and embarrassment.
[Zly Wilk] Why not ask our new Doctor friend or hir mate?
[Lazur] - speaks in a strange guttural tongue before looking annoyed and flappig her hands in an exasperated gesture.
[Zly Wilk] Well we are NOT in the field, and it don't hurt to ask for a hand now and again.
-There's just the barest amount of interference from Splender's EMP field which flickers across the code-
[Lazur] - notices the distortion, coughs and makes a sour face.
[Zly Wilk] -cautiously gets up from his Hammock - Hello?
[Splender] Heard their voices- Oh! Hello? Is someone there?
[Zly Wik] -walks out of the woods with Lazur following grumpily behind - Hello.... My, you are tall, my colorful friend!
[Splender] Smiles broadly- Hello! My name is Splender!
[Zly Wilk] Smiles back - I'm Zly Wilk, this is my partner, Lazur. Call me Zly...
We've been exploring this seed since just after Doc took us in.
[Splender] - Oh that's wonderful! I go off exploring, not much recently since Pinwheel has hatched...
[Lazur] has slightly turned away and is still messing with her code
[Zly Wilk] Pinwheel? Is this a pet of yours?
[Splender] - Oh! You don't know, do you... Doc went and gathered abandoned Ender dragon eggs from regular and modded seeds and then hatched them! Pinwheel is the one I'm taking care of. She's an adorable, sweet, ball of rainbows!
[Zly Wilk] Dragons? That fantastic! I haven't seen a seed with dragons in ages.
[Lazur] - speaks in short bursts of static, shakes her head, goes back to coding
[Zly Wilk] good point... Splender, are any of them dangerous?
[Splender] - Weeeeeeeell... Pinwheel may be venomous to everyone except me...
[Zly Wilk] -slowly - gooood to know....
[Lazur] - makes a sound like feedback, drops her head in defeat-
[Splender] - Is everything alright with her?
[Zly Wilk] don't mind her... We came across this rather odd wither skeleton talking in giberish. Lazur thought her translation program was malfunctioning, and tried to fix it.
[Splender] - Ah, if you need a translation program CP has one!
[Lazur] -makes an approximation of laughter
[Zly Wilk] Thank you, Splender... But Lazur is.... Stubborn and wants to fix it I her own. Besides, i can understand her and translate if needed until she does.
[Splender] - Well, there's always Doc, or Deer... Oh! Flux might be able to help!
[Zly Wilk] sounds like we missed a couple more new arrivals since we went on our little adventure.... I'll have to make my way over to the castle and check with Doc as soon as my friend here finally gives up.
[Lazur] forms a small ball of energy and paps it harmlessly at the back of Zly's head where it makes his already unruly hair poof up with static electricity.
[Splender] - I CAN TAKE US THERE RIGHT NOW!- He reaches for them with his tendrils
[Lazur] squaks in surprise and quickly equips matching leather armor pieces on her arms and a glowing blue sword forms in her hand.
[Zly Wilk] LAZUR NO! Sorry, Splender... We had a bad experience on a Japanese server once... I think we will walk as soon as we clean up our little camp.
[Splender] Gets sad- Oh... I'm sorry... I don't mean any harm...
[Zly Wilk] No, no harm my friend. We are well met today. Say, where is this dragon of yours?
[Splender] - Sleeping at home, my house is in the water near Doc's castle!
[Zly Wilk] Then we will be sure to visit once we go that way.
[Lazur] -puts away her weapon and armor, smiles and nods, feeling self conscious about her reaction
[Splender] Points towards the horizon- If you keep going that way you'll run into Gem's house and just past that should be area's you know, like Lie's house!
[Zly Wilk] Ah... Wonderful. Exploring is great, but it's already great to get back to familiar surroundings. So glad we met, my friend.
[Splender] - I hope to see you around more! I wonder how CP is doing now?
[Zly Wilk] CP? What happened? He pick a fight he couldn't finish? I know there are other powerful brines here.
[Splender] - He was deleted by his NOTCH. Luckily Doc had given him some alterations and Lie had a single pixel of him. He's been regrowing from it, last I saw he was a little child
[Zly Wilk] - looks startled for a moment as an old memory flashes across his mind - I'm sorry. I had no idea. As much of an ass as he can be, he didn't deserve that fate.
[Lazur] puts a comforting hands on his shoulder.
[Zly Wilk] ..... Did you say a child? - chuckles- oh that at least would have been a sight to see. Little CP and Stevie playing.
[Splender] - Either Notch or Doc should probably have pictures, although CP was more focused on fighting CN
[Zly Wilk] -figuring he will get caught up on these new additions when he gets to the castle- well, kids will be kids. How did Markus handle a kid CP, a child Stevie, and this CN?
[Splender] - Oh! Stevie's an adult so that wasn't a problem, and Lie was able to help with CN and CP
[Lazur] - makes a surprised drod-like whistle noise
[Zly Wilk] I agree. Wow. Always something exciting going on around here.
[Splender] - Indeed! Are you sure the two of you don't want any help?
[Zly Wilk] Thank you, but not just yet. I owe it to Lazur to try to fix her coding I her own, and we have a couple other things we want to investigate before we head over.
[Splender] - Alright, but if you want someone to secretively fix it, I would suggest Flux, from what I've gathered she may just be the oldest embodiment of a server...
[Lazur] -grumbling in Q-bert-
[Zly Wilk] Thanks, Splender. I will definitely keep that in mind. We are headed back to our camp now, but we will see you again soon I am sure.
[Splender] - Alright! Have fun!- He waves one of his belled tendrils and teleports off-
[Zly Wilk] come on, Blue... Let's get back to camp.
-the pair make their way back into the woods.-
[Doc] Heads into town with Deerheart and Yaunfen in tow. Xe's trying to ignore Dn trailing behind.
-Testificates- Are rather unnerved by him and give Dn a wide berth.
[Drilby] Is trimming the grass outside the forge and hails them-
[Doc] You look annoyed...
[Drilby] Cp dragged my husband out of bed to yell at him.
[Doc] I know the feeling...
[Deer] - Was he yelling about the tools?
[Drilby] Yeees.
[Doc] Figures.
[Yaunfen] - Big fire was mad yesterday
[Doc] It's just been a bad week all around.
[Deer] Puts a gentle hand on Doc's arm- It's okay, we're here
[Doc] I know. - But xe still looks unhappy.
[Dn] Is radiating smug and intentionally scowls at some of the children so they'll run away.
[Splender] Senses the children's fear and nervousness and teleports to the village quickly-
[Drilby] He kept asking about Tungsten's family too. He's a bit shaken up.
[Deer] - His family?
[Drilby] Yeah, I don't get it either.
[Deer] - Well give Tungsten our well wishes
[Dn] Are we done yet?
[Doc] Snaps at him- No one asked you to come!
[Dn] You don't get to ask. I won't listen anyway. I just do what needs to be done.
[Drilby] I will, he's just staying inside today.
[Deer] - Come on Doc, let's get our stuff for our picnic
[Doc] Shivers with frustration- Yes. Let's.
[Dn] Snorts-
[Yaunfen] - Cookies! Cookies!
[Doc] Muddles through the usual negotiations. It's obvious xe's distracted but trying to put on a brave face.
[Deer] Keeps glaring at DN-
[Dn] Ignores her.
[Lie] Has come into town to see if there's anything of interest to trade today-
[Doc] Happens to spot her and gives a tired wave.
[Lie] Smiles and approaches- Hey, is everything okay?
[Doc] Shrugs and hir eyes flick back to where Dn is standing. - Cp is mad at me for helping you with your little issue the other day.
[Lie] - I'll talk to him, I hope he didn't yell at you to much?
[Doc] He caught me with the hoe Tungsten made and that distracted him a bit.
[Lie] - Is Tungsten okay?
[Doc] He got yelled at too apparently, but otherwise yes.
[Lie] - I'll apologize to them later... Hey Doc? Weren't there parrots added this last update?
[Doc] Yes. I haven't messed with them myself though.
[Lie] - Do you think you could spawn a few over by my place? I think CN would like the feathers...
[Doc] Sure... Why not. - Looks back at hir lover and child - Shouldn't take long. Okay?
[Deer] - Go ahead, we'll be right behind you
[Doc] Gestures for Lie to lead.
[Dn] Just stays silently a few steps behind, his black eyes never leaving Doc.
[Lie] Leads them outside, she can see CP laying on the roof of the house-
[Doc] Sighs resignedly- where do you want them Lie?
[Lie] - Maybe in the green house?
[Dn] Don't just spawn things for players. Some admin you are. She should have to hunt for them herself.
[Doc] Nobody asked you!
[Lie] - They're not for me, it's for CN's feather collection
[Deer] - Where is CN?
[Lie] - Playing with my wolves
[Dn] snorts- try not to screw it up
[Doc] is shaking -
[CP] Is watching carefully from the roof-
[Doc] is trying to watch Dn and retrieve the egg at the same time and taps the wrong one. With a horrible wail a ghast appears and screams in unholy torment knocking hir over- [Dn] Good job.
[CP] Concerned for his wife's safety lunges at the ghast and pounds it into the ground-
[Deer] - Doc! Are you alright?
[Doc] Can't take hir eyes off Dn. He's not moving but mentally he's suddenly far too close.
[CP] Disposes of the ghast, collecting it's tear- I'm sure GK could find a use for this...
[Dn] I told you so...
[Deer] - Leave...
[Dn] Never.
[Deer] - Then be removed
[Dn] just starts laughing-
[Deer] Stands up, as she does she begins to glow, something which has not happened in a very long time-
[Lie] - Deer?
[Dn] Let's see what you can do you insipid chimera.
[Deer] - A long time ago, I gave a life back... It's time to pay for that by taking a life in return
[Deer] The server is quick to bend to Deer's will, giving her access to every bit of code. Her hands flick upwards, towards DN's core. She can see every part of his coding as she looks for every important part. A cold clutching sensation grips DN in the center of his chest as Deer grips his code. Visible only to Deer is the code as it comes towards her and she digs her fingers into it. Every part of her is screaming to not destroy code but she pushes past it. She knows there will be some form of repercussion but she can't stand by any longer and watch Doc suffer. Her fingers dig into the code and begin tearing it apart with a bit of difficulty, but the effect is immediate. DN falls to the ground, his body literally being torn apart right before them-
[CP] Tenses as he watches this happen, fear beginning to grip him-
[CN] Hears the commotion and looks from inside the dog pen- DN!
[Flux] Feels what Deer is doing and quickly rushes outside- Deer! Stop!
