Brief description of the Crisis cases:
Bringing public confidence back A large financial institution ran into severe crisis due to its alleged wrong decisions in investments in certain instruments. Our strategy to communicate, change in its working philosophy, management structure and improved internal mechanism involving investors, employees and other stake holders helped it win the public confidence back and turn into a large institution.
A famous change chain of non- vegetarian restaurant faced agitation by animal right activists who’d restrain the visiting guests from entering the restaurant created ruckus and resulted in negative photo caps and stories. It also had PETA run a negative campaign against the chain. Our intervention and communication about the fair-play by the client and misplaced notion by the activists helped the client bounce back.
A popular television channel faced the wrath of authorities and public for a certain incident act by one of the participants in the program which was delayed resulting in public brouhaha. Our communication was to explain the channel’s view point and the steps it had taken to prevent such incidences helped to reconnect with the viewers and sponsors.
In the wake of controversy regarding entry of private players in cooking gas we highlighted the problems faced by private players and communicated the need for level playing field.
A famous college in Mumbai came in flak from all political parties and saw violent demonstrations because it started enforcing certain disciplines. The college also faced allegation of closing down. We brought out the facts in the open about the academic interests and management stance and highlighted misplaced fears of students and parents. Thus the academic and public interest was protected.
A famous five star hotel faced flax from certain motivated customers who went to town talking about food containing insects in the restaurant. The clients point view was projected and its system of maintaining hygiene was communicated. This potential situation that could have raised questions in the mind of other patrons was averted.
On the Telecom policy issue, there was a huge opposition. We helped communicate the advantages of the policy through over 200 open houses across the country inviting all stakeholders. The exercise resulted in healthy public debate and discussions and resulted in policy implementation.
A large enforcing agency realized that its good work was wrongly interpreted and reported in the media. It was realizes that there was a need for better communication between the agency and media. An intense media coaching program for the agency’s personnel impacted the briefing and reporting resulting in better public outreach.
A Textile manufacturer faced severe labour problem with two warring unions going violent which resulted in loss of lives of two labourers and became the case of alleged human rights violation. Our strategy and communication to put the entire issue in the right perspective in front of all stake holders including media not only reduced conflicts but led to peaceful resumption of production.
We helped a large co-operative bank communicate its strong fundamentals to all stake holders timely to avert an impending crisis as rumours were flying thick about its closure.
A public communication program was initiated to highlight pro’s and con’s of streptokinase verses Veronese (injections given at the time of heart attack) to avert a divide in the medical and paramedical fraternity.
An NGO came up with a campaign to showcase the dilapidated condition of the municipality schools. We helped them run the online campaign and created a microsite for the masses to sign the petition and to support such a cause. This garnered a lot of signature and pictorial depiction resulting in meaningful initiatives by the authorities.
A state Govt’s flagship program of running subsidised canteens run into negative publicity and criticism. We developed and showcased the positives and benefits in an intensive way through media mobilization and stake-holder outreach.
A brick and mortar S-commence services company specialising in facilitation services booths across the country faced allegation of malpractice and cheating by the trade and Franchises/Dealers, tuning violent. Our media mediation and stake-holder communication helped neutralised the situation paving way for peaceful negotiations and smooth flow of business.

Black Forest Tourism (Schwarzwald Tourismus) developed an innovative partnership with Puma to create a branded sneaker line, creating awareness of the beautiful region in Germany to the world. 
Famous for its cuckoo clocks, eponymous cake and hundreds of kilometres of majestic woodland, the Black Forest, or ‘Schwarzwald’ has always been beloved by Germans. Now, it has been awarded an important accolade - its own sneaker collection from fashion giant, Puma.
In partnership with the regional tourist board, German sports brand Puma has announced that it will release three new trainer designs which are based on symbols of the Black Forest region of Baden-Württemberg.
To get a young, international target group with a focus on the Asian market/Japan interested in the Black Forest region as a travel destination, away from traditional tourism campaigns. Together with Puma, three strictly limited special models were designed that not only communicate the typical shapes and colours, but also the craftsmanship and tradition of the Black Forest. A microsite and social media were used to explain what the designs are all about and content about the Black Forest region was used to whet the appetite for discovering it. The collaboration was launched with an exclusive pop-up store and launch event in Tokyo. Thanks to the global coverage of the collaboration and the releases, the trainers sold out worldwide within 48 hours. Bringing public confidence back A large financial institution ran into severe crisis due to its alleged wrong decisions in investments in certain instruments. Our strategy to communicate, change in its working philosophy, management structure and improved internal mechanism involving investors, employees and other stake holders helped it win the public confidence back and turn into a large institution.
A famous change chain of non- vegetarian restaurant faced agitation by animal right activists who’d restrain the visiting guests from entering the restaurant created ruckus and resulted in negative photo caps and stories. It also had PETA run a negative campaign against the chain. Our intervention and communication about the fair-play by the client and misplaced notion by the activists helped the client bounce back.
A popular television channel faced the wrath of authorities and public for a certain incident act by one of the participants in the program which was delayed resulting in public brouhaha. Our communication was to explain the channel’s view point and the steps it had taken to prevent such incidences helped to reconnect with the viewers and sponsors.
In the wake of controversy regarding entry of private players in cooking gas we highlighted the problems faced by private players and communicated the need for level playing field.
A famous college in Mumbai came in flak from all political parties and saw violent demonstrations because it started enforcing certain disciplines. The college also faced allegation of closing down. The Diverse Concept of Globalization
I have always perceived globalization as a concept that we encounter everyday. I thought that it was a simple concept that would tackle many aspects and sectors such as business, culture, and more. Simple occurrences such as watching international news, seeing foreign brands in malls or department stores, or viewing foreign shows dubbed in English or Tagalog were what shaped my idea of globalization. As someone who had a lot of interest in media, fashion, and pop culture, my main ideas on globalization mainly focused on how it made the spread of films and tv shows possible and accessible to different places in the world.
While these ideas had truth to it, globalization doesn’t just stop there. To give it a proper definition, globalization is the interdependence of economies, cultures, and populations, which is made possible by cross-border trades (PIIE, 2018). While the term seems like it is something that is focused on business and economics, the concept is actually used in different sectors and affects things like culture, politics, technology, and more. The term globalization is also deeply connected to development as it has promoted the spread of innovation, technology, and new concepts that have spread easily.
With these in mind, I can say that globalization is a concept that we encounter everyday but may not fully understand at first. While it is something we deal with in our daily lives, the term globalization touches on many sectors and aspects of daily life. This makes it a very broad topic and can make it complex when trying to learn about it. Nevertheless, I believe that it is a topic that we should talk about as it is a concept that has propelled society into different improvements and will continue to do so.
