I really think not enough is said about "awkward" yet good-intentioned handhelds. By that I mean the tiny not quite sure how to hold on or balance themself, or the giant sort of wrapping their fingers around them and accidentally covering their mouth, so their speech is muffled, followed by an adjustment, a "sorry."

The kind among friends, the tiny one clambering into a palm, losing balance and tumbling as it shifts underneath them, the giant perhaps in a hurry. Little exclamations of "oops" or "woah," the giant cupping their hands around them and reassuring them that they won't fall out as they get reoriented. "I gotcha, little one."

Shit never fails to bring a stupid fucking smile to my face.

i’m too old to beef about it with the majority younger people who use it but To Me the toothpaste flag feels very derivative and disingenuous and like… idk the idea of taking the newly adopted sunset lesbian flag and being like “make it blue and now it’s for boys” feels a little shortsighted to me. like if it’s the flag that GENUINELY feels like home to you, i’m not gonna tell anyone to stop, but i feel like there should at least be an acknowledgment of the toothpaste flag’s origins and why it might not resonate (or even actively rankle) with some gays, particularly older ones.

Euphemia Potter makes little Sirius realise that parents are actually supposed to like their kids. Happy :)

Thinking about Effie who loves unique things and individuality. She collects them. Their house is filled with odd trinkets and strange pieces of art, and from a young age James is taught the importance of self expression and is encouraged for all of his differences and odd little interests.

So James, who too loves unique things, who’s five years old and just finished his first day of kindergarten, runs to his mother in the courtyard yelling “mummy mummy! I made a friend and he has a unique name. You have to come meet him, come on, come on, his name’s Sirius!”

And so Effie follows James to a shy looking boy with dark hair and neat clothes and she kneels down to get to his eye level and says “Hi there Sirius, it’s lovely to meet you, I’m James’ mummy. Did you have a lovely first day of school?”

And Sirius, who has never had an adult so much as lean down to meet his eye, always so tall and intimidating, who has never known such kindness and sweetness in the tone of her voice and the mere interest in his day, just blushes from head to toe, bright fucking red. And he stutters over his words, excited to tell her that he had an amazing day actually and that he really likes James, and he’s swallowing every few words and looking at her with wide eyes from nerves and curiosity and admiration.

And Effie just takes one look at the little boy who’s a blushing mess, excitedly trying to tell her all the things he got up to today with James, and they’re going on and on about the games they made-up on the playground, and she decides that she’s gotta collect him too.

And when Sirius runs away to the Potters, she spends the whole first night in the guest room rearranging things, putting all of the odd trinkets and art pieces that Sirius has made nice comments about over the years in there, and she’s painting the walls all his favourite colours, and pulling out their comfiest bed sheets.

And when Sirius finds her and Flea in there the next morning, covered in paint, bags under their eyes from working through the night, and a room with things that He likes in it, he’s rendered that same blushing stuttering mess again.

Here’s to the ones that inspire hope and love, may your hearts always be filled with joy. Here’s to you, may you never fear to fall in love twice (and again and again.) i feel the need to move all the shit around in my apartment today except its like 300 sqft so i can only move things like. one foot to the right

Yesterday, my 12 year old laptop died.

This machine was an XPS laptop. It was in perfect working order up until the motherboard decided to die. I've swapped keyboards, screens, batteries, and a track pad on this thing, all with the help of YouTube. I actually wanted to get this machine repaired until I learned it would be about 3 grand for a repair that might work. There would be no guarantee and it would be hard finding someone willing to work on a computer that old.

I'm paying someone for data recovery because he can do it better and quicker. When that's done and I have the hard drive, I'm going to donate my old XPS. It can still be repaired if you have the right part and enough time. People do. I'm donating it to a program that takes old computers like these, fixes them, and gives them to low income students. This computer will probably last another 5 years (or more). Parts for it are easily purchased on Amazon.

My new computer is coming today. It's the same build, just slightly newer. It will last me another 12 years I hope. I will repair it as needed. Parts are easily available on Amazon. It will do everything I need it to and, when it's time, I'll swap it all over to a new computer from that same series.

Being able to repair my own machines has made me an XPS user for life. It allows me to save money and cut down on e-waste. So many people are stunned that my old computer was 12 (the one I had before this was 15 before it failed). We are so used to a society with disposable technology that it's genuinely shocking to people when someone says they fixed their own laptop.

But why should people try? So many laptops are made so you can't just unscrew and pop the back off. So many computers are made to fail after two, three, or four years. So many computers are made to force you to buy a new one for whatever capitalist bullshit reason.

I'll gladly pay extra for right to repair and a solid build with easily available replacement parts. That's what's important to me.

My favorite interaction with an Eve stan has to be with this one guy I met back when I was in tdt who always said that the only canon MVs were the ones that had Hitotsume in them and if he wasn’t there then it didn’t count as canon which annoyed me so I told them that if we followed that logic then Hakugin is canon bc Hitotsume appears in it and that made them so mad they never spoke to me again

tbh the thing that bothers me most about the prequels isn't so much that they exist (though it does baffle me, some of them are pretty good tho) but that the music doesn't match the actual game's at all. like. sequels consistently remix the original game's music. prequels don't do that at all. even for, like, fillbots, shoot-'em-up and micro-row, where the sequels' music is basically identical to the original's. none of the prequels have music that matches the actual game's. ,,, which actually makes sense given that prequel rhythm rally's music has test in it file name i'm pretty sure klsdfjfldksdfjdfsfs-

cant remember if ifve actually TALKED about [stalker] on here or not but you guys. its so funny its been 11 uears. if he were any more competent i would actually bother teporting him but he fr just makes fake fb accounts that r completely empty with hinself as the only friend like... cmon...... can you reallty not do better than that :( but also mostly its funny bc like. hes 6'6 and im 4'10 and every time he messages me he cant go more than 3 sentences of conversation without going 👉👈 so what would you do if i was 2 inches tall and in front of you. and then i block him and then in 3 or 4 years he sends another message. its the most pathetic slowburn stalking ever i hesitate to even call it that but he block evades and follows me to new accts..... not that ive even USED fb in the last ~6 years. i wasnt even using it much the last time he messaged me. anyway what i really want to know is why me.... why pick the shortest guy youve ever met to be the figure of your macro obsession................ i mean. ig its bc i tutored him in trig and it was the most positive attention hes ever recieve d in his life but still cmonnnnn 🙄 anyway why cant i have a competent rival instead of an incompetent and mostly just annoying stalker. boooooring
