Hamilton discourse in 2024 🤯🤯🤯

I've realized after careful consideration (I've spent a an hour or so talking to myself and reading different povs on hamilton) that I enjoy hamilton only as a musical. Not as a historical piece of media. Which isn't a nuanced take. I think since I've been in the Fandom I've always separated the characters in hamilton from their real life counterparts, treating them more like ocs than anything. At the time it was because I was a. 9 years old and not thinking critically of media at the time and b. Did not want to put in the effort into researching founding fathers instead opting to watch lams comic dubs. Now I disassociate them because the real people were shit bags, but I still have an attachment to these characters. But i want to separate them from their historical context. And that's probably a bad thing to do because it's still glorifying these people even if there's no association in my head. Not to mention the problems with hamilton outside of glorifying it's (frankly) racist main characters and lmm problems as a writer and person. But I still idolize him and I probably will for several years because the art that he makes really touches me in an indescribable way. It makes me want to create and expand on broadway, and provide actual poc history instead of white history with pocs as the white people. Why is it so hard to highlight real poc stories in mainstream media? Yes, it is wonderful that poc actors are getting work and roles as well written historical characters, but I wish the historical characters were poc as well. It's not like we don't have our own stories to tell. I don't know. I obviously don't know what it's like on broadway or what that process is like, but still.

Tldr; still in the hamilton Fandom, but I hate the actual founding fathers and treat the hamilton characters as their own separate entities. This is probably not good, but I've developed a deep emotional attachment to this show.

Took a hardcore break from socials for summer break, and boy was it needed! I was completely burned out and in need of a break this year lol

In other news, I didn't forget about the Monkee Sweater Series!!! Work just got insanely crazy but I'll be picking it back up soon! :D Peter's is next! I also have more fiber arts project ideas for the Monkees, too!!

If they wanted the star not the starboy why not not make the starboy trapped as the star, like a beauty and the beast scene.

Like due to the wishes not being granted, his powers were in a way lessened enough that he cannot be in a human form anymore.

You then get this a cool transformation scene of lights and sparkles as it reveals Starboy. He is human again and so on.

Or as they get closer with freeing the wishes Starboy then gets his shapeshifiting back slowly with small transformations like with Maui in Moana when he gets his hook back.

By the way why was the villain couple removed? That would've been fun to show like imagine a villain duo saving the wishes for themselves, but maybe with a betrayal plot if they really didnt want the queen to be evil.

With the Queen realizing her actions are harming the people she had once cared for. She stops and helps Asha and Starboy with stopping the king.

No because actually my otp is those two little fucked up guys, you know the ones. The two who are clearly very wrong for each other in every sense of the word. The little guys who have given each other so much mutual trauma that they essentially trauma bonded each other. Those two people who hate each other so much but couldn't possibly imagine falling for another person. Those two little fucked up dudes who have made holes in each others' heart so that no one else becides them could fill it and they hate each other for that.

I would like them to kiss each other very hard after a very bad argument.

I can’t even with how when the monkees are at the beach they’re just all like asleep under an umbrella or something while Davy sits there playing in the sand like a three year old. Like what is he doing? Little boy things, picking sand up and putting it down. He’s having a good time, but like, did a director tell real Davy to do that? Show-Davy just likes to play in the sand like a little one.

I’m sure peter comes over and plays with him sometimes, maybe micky goes and runs around. Or he bothers Mike, who’s sitting there watching them all with his sunglasses on because he is the dad™️, and sitting under the umbrella because if he steps out of the shade, he burns like a bitch cause he’s so pale.

If the “kids” aren’t all occupied, Mike sometimes has one in his lap because it’s sunny and beach naps are nice and Mike is always good at giving cuddles. He’s got long arms, he could hug all three.

Fellow Monkees fan! 😁 Tell me, do you know the original very cynical and dark version of Mommy and Daddy? If not, look it up! I have met many Monkees fans who do not know the original lyrics Mickey wrote. It's so good and its cynicism hits hard, even at today's society!

Dude that is the ONLY version of the song I listened to, and honestly the first version I ever heard. After hearing that scathing version, the tamer version made me mad because of how powerful the original version was.

And yet there was an interview relatively recently where Micky said The Monkees weren’t political. My dude YOU wrote Mommy and Daddy even the tamer version is still political!!!

Anyway fellow Monkees fan I hope we can talk more! If you can’t tell by my rant I am insanely passionate about them and am happy to talk about them at any time!! (sorry for the rant though)

Ep. 001. Miss l/n y/n please come to the principal’s office

chapter synopsis : All of the worst case scenarios popped into your head as the head of your college called you to his office after your chemistry class, one of the classes you did best in… what could have gone wrong?

As you were walking out of chemistry walking hand in hand with Hanni, you see your teacher walk up to you and she says “Oh y/n, the principal called you to his office to talk to you.”

Everything stops. What? Why were YOU of all people called to the principals office, when you know you haven’t done a single thing?

You braced yourself as you let go of Hanni’s hand and walked towards Mr. Lee’s office. You took a deep breath as you opened the door to be met with the face of Nishimura Riki standing in front of Mr Lee’s desk. Wait THAT Nishimura Riki? Oh you were in for a ride…

Mr Lee explains to you how some people like Riki weren’t doing well in chemistry at all and needed a tutor and since you were the topper of your class every time, especially in chemistry, you would be the one to tutor him.

this was NOT going to be fun. AT ALL.

He waves his hand as a way to say a small ‘hi’ as if you were friends again. You were NOT going to believe in such a fake facade ever again…

But the only good part about all of this was that you were going to get extra credit for this and that would up your overall grade for this year.

As soon as Me Lee was done with his explanation, you quickly excused yourself saying that you had some work to get done and had to leave, and the second you got out, you heaved a sigh of irritation. Out of all of those sweaty boys, why’d it have to be Niki?!

You were too frustrated to see that Hanni had been waiting outside for you and had put her arms around your shoulders. You get confused as to who it was before you look to the side and realise that it’s hanni. You couldn’t keep it in anymore, you had to tell her why you hated him how you did…

“Wow,” she says after you’re done explaining why you were at the office and why you didn’t like him at all. “He’s been such a jerk to you, I can see why you hate him so much. But we can now both be the founders of the ‘Nishimura Riki hate club!” She says with a laugh.

You didn’t realise you were already sat down with Hanni at the cafeteria until you felt a tap on your shoulder from behind you and a call of your name

“Huh-” you say as you turn in your seat, only to be met with Niki behind you, looking at you. The once happy expression turned into a frown as you said “what do you want, Nishimura?”

“Gosh, I know you hate me but don’t need to be that rude, l/n…” he replies.

He tries his best to control himself and not tuck away the loose strand of hair behind your ear like he used to when you were best friends with each other, to not sit down next to you at lunch, and make his feelings for you go away, knowing you won’t reciprocate them but how could he when you were this cute and pretty and smart too?

But, he must, because if you knew how big his ever growing feelings for you were, it would actually be the end for him… How was he going to get his feelings for you to go away?

“All I wanted to ask you, since you’re so annoyed, is when should our first tutoring session be?”

“Maybe today at 5 at that café near here?” You reply, dryly, his presence sucking the once cheerful smile off your face.

“Sure” he says, before walking away with heart racing for absolutely no reason. which may or may not have been you…

So, is anyone else having an issue with Andrew's Pose Player/Teleport Any Sim not working after the patch yesterday?

Whenever I click on the statue and click the option to teleport a Sim there, nothing happens; no menu pops up or anything. It just sits there.

Which is really great in the middle of a Bachelorette challenge. 😅
