When I was a kid I always thought that Mickey mouse at Disney World acted better than everyone and in a rush to leave but now I realize inside every Mickey mouse is a jaded art school student sweating his ass off.

In this movie, masked killer Mickey Mouse (Simon Phillips) stalks victims at a late-night birthday party in an amusement park. Instead of putting Mikey in the family movie, they created a scary character who ruins the fun of the guests at the birthday party. To create your costume from mascot to monster, cut out or black out the eye holes of your rubber Mickey mask. Collect all the accessories of the Mickey costume from Mickey’s Mouse Trap for Halloween and cosplay.

Recently watched the Lion King at our local theater and I was really struck by just how clever the costuming design was. So this is an actor portraying Mickey for the play "Steamboat Willie".

I am making 365 new versions of Mickey Mouse for the public domain and releasing them under public domain all year long.

We're Having A Halloween Party, the Main Event is the Costume Competition!

The Spooky Season is nearing!

Last year we wanted to know the most diabolical, evil, twisted villain! This year we are taking a different approach to tumblr's favorite mainstream holiday. What costume is your favorite? whether it was your go to every year as a kid or something you've always wanted to slip into.

Be it a solo act, a perfect pairing, or a group statement, we want to know what you think is ideal for this year's festivities. From the classic characters like Mickey Mouse or Tinkerbell to Disney Heroes and Princesses to villains preparing to stalk the night or a family trip to Wonderland. These costumes can come from anywhere--movies, shows, parks, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel, the Disney Store, DIY, Spirit Halloween--just so long as it is Disney (or a very obvious knockoff Disney). Think about trick or treating, think about Haunted Corn Mazes, think about the parties.

This is open for all age groups and for any Halloween occasion. 

There is space on the form to create a setting if you want to tell a story or share propaganda.

Depending on the responses we receive we will determine exactly what the tournament will look like. Usually the mini tournaments are just 16 spots and the polls run for a day. If there are enough submissions for multiple mini brackets with obvious splits (like participant number) multiple competitions is something we will consider.

The plan is to have the finals announced October 30th and all other dates and details will work from there. This form will be open at least through all of September.

When submitting a picture please be respectful of privacy. Ideally we would want a picture of a costume. If you are going this route please submit an official picture/ad or one that has been made available for the public. If it is not published as such, like a family photo, please either get permission to use it or cover any faces--especially with children. We will accept a character picture too.

This is a fun tournament which could help give ideas for this year (or next) and be a place to share experiences. We are not setting out to sell or endorse anything that appears in the tournament.
