Valley on the I'll Be With You Tour
Notable Moments:
Can I say the entire show? I'm just kidding, but this was genuinely such a great performance. I went with one of my best friends, which definitely enhanced the experience, but I have also been a ValPal since the release of MAYBE, so seeing them was a special treat.
I made my own MAYBE jacket, as a little treat, and wrote some of my favorite lyrics of theirs on the inside back panel of the jacket. Luckily, it was cold when we went to see the show so I wasn't overheated in my bulky jacket and it's become one of my favorite jackets.
Mickey did lead vocals for the second half of "Tempo" and the first half of "Oh Shit... Are We in Love?" and he also did an extended guitar solo during Tempo that absolutely knocked my socks off.
Karah switched places with Mickey during "Tempo" to sing lead vocals with Rob and her voice was incredible, I really hope she starts to sing lead on their new records. She had such a great energy and her drum solos were impressive, to say the least.
Alex was so much fun to interact with, I wish I had photos of him that were any good, because he was so invested in interacting with his fans, it was great.
Rob was an absolute shining star, as would be expected from Rob Laska. He talked frequently during the show, but was able to not kill the flow of the performance. He had a lot of witty banter and interactions and seemed genuinely excited to be playing for us that night.
The band fit a cover of "Landslide" in between the last verse and chorus of "All the Animals I Drew as a Kid," which has entirely changed the way I listen to and relate to that song. They also played tracks off of This Room is White, which was both unexpected and incredibly well done. The finale was, of course, "Like 1999" which has never been my favorite of theirs until I heard it live. The energy the crowd had and screaming the lyrics with my favorite band and 600 other people definitely changed the way I listen to that song.
Overall, it was a wonderful show and I would probably go to see Valley again, if given the chance.

for music ask game: 125, 135, 140
hey lu!! thanks for the ask :)
125. If you could make a band out of your favorite musicians, who would you hire? oh just the thought if this has me so excited. Nathaniel Banks of Arlie, Simon from Blanks, Karah James from Valley with Mickey Brandolino and Nathan Stocker as the producers
135. What's a musical pet peeve of yours? Snaps that aren't crisp. Like, if you're going to include snaps, they need to be crisp as hell
140. What's a lyric you horribly misheard? The whole second verse of Park Bench by Valley for a very long time. However, if Rob Laska wanted me to know all that he would've enunciated better imo

Interview with Valley
We had the pleasure of interviewing Valley over Zoom video!
Valley is a Canadian indie pop group based in Toronto built up of Rob Laska on vocals, Michael (Mickey) Brandolino on guitar, Alex Dimauro on bass and Karah James on drums and vocals.
“Like 1999” follows the smash EP, sucks to see you doing better, which Valley released last year and includes the honest banger, “hiccup” (which gathered 200,000 streams in the first 48 hours) and “nevermind.”
With only two other self-written, self-produced, debut releases under their belt (including their EP This Room Is White and full-length MAYBE), the band has collected nearly 71 million streams on Spotify alone, a 2020 JUNO Award Nomination, support slots with Lennon Stella and The Band Camino on sold out North American tours in 2019, and a confirmed support billing with LovelyTheBand once the tour world reopens.
We want to hear from you! Please email [email protected].

My favorite part of attending a concert is downloading all of the videos I took that night to my laptop and then converting them into mp3 files and adding them to my Spotify library because then I end up with a 2:04 recording of Mickey Brandolino absolutely shredding an extended guitar solo at the end of Tempo on playlists called "reasons to keep living" and "face melting guitar solos" and every time it comes on shuffle I'm reminded of how cool that show was
