Eleven Years

Eleven years and not a day goes by that I don't think of you though I no longer cry. I still daydream what could, what should have been Imagine how you would have looked at this age The guilt comes and goes The pain ebbs and flows But I've learned to let go of the rage I still long to speak to you Still think about how you would like some random thing that I see You've infiltrated my soul over time You're gone but not far for you dwell within me.

Just a subpar poem I wrote to mark the day. We'll listen to punk music and toss petals on the water together this year, me, Kåre, Helena and your dear little namesake. He doesn't understand why we do it but he knows it means something to his pappa.

This show didn't end the way I wanted it to when I started watching, or the way I expected it to as seasons went by, and you know what? it was GREAT. It's about... it's about many things, but ultimately I think it's about the events that shape us and the responsibility we still have for our own actions and choices.

It's a comedy sort of in the way The Bear is a comedy, but it's both funnier and darker than TB. You truly haven't lived until you've met Noho Hank.

Seriously. You're missing out.

Reading the credits you'd think it's all Berg and Hader, but if you pick up any interview with Hader you find that he'll meticulously credit and praise every single person involved in a scene. The end result of these collaborations both in front and behind the camera is always solid and often deeply moving and definitely something you'll want to pick apart and study if you have even just a passing interest in film-making; Hader will direct a terrific horror movie one day.

Dream log

Kind of hilarious Gatchaman dream the other night.

So, Ken and Joe have captured Berg Katse, and with much fanfare and dramatic buildup, they pull off his mask.

And then go, "...I don't recognize this guy..."

"Uh... yeah, I was sort of expecting a celebrity, or someone I'd know?"

"This is just some vaguely effeminate dude."

And Katse is deeply indignant. "What, did you think I was a headliner rock star in my copious free time? You know, running Galactor is a job. A full time job. All this time you've been trying to unmask me because you thought I was somebody else?"

"Yeah, well, now that you put it that way..."

"I dunno, you wear a mask all the time. You act like you don't want it taken off, so we figured, there's gotta be something significant there..."

"You wear a bird suit all the time, do I go trying to rip off your helmet because I think you're really Mick Jagger?"

Now I almost wish I still wrote Gatchaman fan fic because this would be a hilarious concept to expand on.
