so I'm just getting into knight rider and am loving kitt and micheals relationship, whether snarking or being there for each other. pls may we have some soft or snarky boys?

listen i am just bored and i love the idea because it is so funny to think about while watching

Okay so i love to rewatch old shows and i like to watch knight rider (1982)

it's fun, and like a lot of shows then, it has a nice fairly similar formula for each episode. It has the relatively usual cool guy for a show then and also a cool car that is intelligent and sentient.

Anyways that is not the focus

the focus is that that guy and that car are clearly in love. They are a couple, an old married couple and they are gay. specifically gay. Kitt (the car) and Michael banter and talk like a gay couple and they love each other. The car gets jealous and annoyed at times, likes to show off for Michael and gets disappointed if Michael doesn't take notice or tries to tell Kitt that he's just a car and Michael regularly apologizes to Kitt and compliments Kitt if the car gets his feelings hurt.

I cannot express how silly they are and even though michael technically flirts with chicks in each episode none of the women are particularly reliant on him beyond whatever task he was already there to check out or do. ( he travels to do missions and research). The women also all do their own thing and none really pine for him either so it usually just feels like Michael and any chick that he happens to flirt with are just vibing. They both part ways and do their own stuff after. Don't really remember any episodes where a chick pines for him or a character that was particularly reliant on him beyond the mission he needed to complete anyways. It's nice especially considering the age of the show and the looks lol

Anyways this is notable because Kitt doesn't really get jealous of any women that Michael flirts with though he gets annoyed if Micheal is particularly distracted by things and is ignoring Kitt. No, it reads as gay because Kitt only seems to get jealous and snippy and even show off for micheal specifically when Michael takes notice of other vehicles.

To me that is just like "Oh yall gay" (positive affectionate tone)

because Kitt doesn't care if michael flirts with someone else, he and michael both know that they are gonna leave and they're gonna do something else. They're gonna go travel. And kitt only gets fussy if another vehicle is mentioned, or sometimes a computer.

Anyways michael and kitt are like a couple to me and it is endlessly hilarious when i watch it with this as the idea.

It is also fun because even when he does flirt with a random chick it definitely feels like they like him but also don't really care if he leaves. He's like a fling for them and they seem to like him enough to flirt but also they have their own things they want to do and don't really mind when he leaves. They just go back to their lives which is nice because a lot of shows, including modern day ones, tend to try to make a bigger deal or connection between characters when they don't need to or it doesn't make sense. Unlike those, the characters feel more real because yeah Michael is pleasant and helpful but he only really interacted with the locals for like maximum a few weeks or less and any women in it are very much invested in whatever is happening in their area so they aren't that invested in this guy. It's great, so it always feels more like you're watching some guy and his gay car help out people and then the guy flirts and banters while his car boyfriend drives him around and saves him from bad guys and then they finish their job and continue their road trip. Doesn't feel like what you would think it would be initially, which initially it kinda looks like it was gonna be some show about a lone wolf vigilante playboy in his mystery vehicle but it is NOT that and it is just some kinda dorky well meaning guy who helps people and he's on a company funded roadtrip with his car boyfriend. Gay car and his boyfriend "stereotypical 1980's cool guy" fight crime on their workfunded roadtrip

Christmas

I'm not really sure what started this, maybe it's because Halloween is tomorrow and I am thinking about the holidays, but I remembered just how much I LOVE Christmas.

I tend to hate on other holidays saying that they are over-commercialized, and I know Christmas isn't any different but I can't help loving more than the others. I love winter and wearing warm clothes. I love Christmas movies and music.

We have a rule that Christmas does not start until after Thanksgiving but I usually break that, this year being no different. I have been listening to straight Christmas music for the past three days.

Favorite Movies:

Polar Express: I don't give a fuck if you think this movie is scary or bad, I love it so much. Tom Hanks plays everyone. I strive to be the girl with the braids (I don't think she has a name). The kid with the glasses is a freak. 𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 𝓯𝓸𝓻 𝓒𝓱𝓻𝓲𝓼𝓽𝓶𝓪𝓼

Muppets Christmas Carol: The Muppets never fail to make an incredible movie and this is no exception. Micheal Caine played Scrouge harder than he has ever played anything else. Piggy and Kermit are married and I love that. Piggy deserves the world. The best scene is when Rizzo loses his jelly beans and then finds them saying "Oh, uhh, jelly bean? I had them in my pocket all along" and Grover sighs and Rizzo says "What?!" and Grover slow turns towards Rizzo and then Rizzo kisses him on the nose.

Realistically Micheal and esp Bonnie have to drive other cars at some point, I feel like Kitt would be jealous :]

Oh, absolutely. I've kind of borrowed the headcanon that Bonnie normally drives a Dodge pickup, kind of a holdover from when she was with her parents, and KITT hates the fuckin' thing. He thinks it's ugly and unrefined (not that he'd tell her that).

Michael has had to drive a handful of other vehicles on the show, usually when KITT is out of commission or for a case, and KITT's never shown getting jealous there-- but he seems rather jealous of Michael's fabled '56 Chevy. AND it's shown that Michael has gotten out of the habit of looking at the dashboard gauges because he just-- doesn't have to, with KITT.

We don't see Bonnie drive with KITT very often which is unfortunate! We have to assume that she does, and let's be real, she's definitely the better driver.

Actually hold on an 80s Dodge Dakota with the V8....
