bonus question: where do you get your roving and yarn? Thank you so much again ^_^
Thanks for asking!
I have a bit of eclectic sources for my fiber and yarn.
I have inherited THREE separate stashes, bought one when I purchased my rigid heddle looms, and have shopped for quite a bit myself.
I (somehow) don't have any local yarn stores (LYS) in my area, despite having seven Michaels, three JOANN, and four Hobby Lobby in the same area. So most of my in-person purchases of yarn have been through them over the last few years.
I have a few online shops I like for yarn, but I have been trying to use up my stash(es) before purchasing too much more.
Wool and Co. : https://www.woolandcompany.com/
Knit Picks : https://www.knitpicks.com/
Premier Yarns : https://www.premieryarns.com/
WEBS : https://www.yarn.com/
Hobium : https://www.hobiumyarns.com/
Yarnspirations : https://www.yarnspirations.com/
Hobbii : https://hobbii.com/
For roving and fiber, I've actually gotten most of it through my Weaving Guild. (Not helpful, sorry!)
There are quite a few great sources for fiber, though!
RH Lindsay : https://rhlindsaywool.com/
World of Wool (UK) : https://www.worldofwool.co.uk/
The Woolery : https://woolery.com/
Revolution Fibers : https://revolutionfibers.com/
Etsy : https://www.etsy.com/
(Be sure to check out craftwithcolour, beesybee, ChameleonFiberCo, FatCatKnits, hipstrings, and so many other talented artists!)
Fossil Fibers : https://www.fossilfibers.com/
Once you start exploring, you'll see there's quite a bit of online stores that do both yarn and fiber, but some lean more towards one market or the other.
Please keep in mind I haven't bought through every supplier listed (yet), but I have heard good things about if I haven't used them myself.
Reddit is usually a really good source for finding more sources, too.
I hope this helps you get started!

Chuck Woolery, the charming and energetic host of the classic 'Wheel of Fortune and 'Love Connection' has passed away. He was 83. Woolery died Saturday at his Texas home outside Austin, according to his podcast co-host Mark Young, who confirmed the news on social media. The energetic firebrand started his entertainment career as a singer in the late 60s. He pitched with the orchestral pop band The Avant-Garde, whose most famous song, “Naturally Stoned,” made it to No. 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1968. One day, he performed “Delta Dawn” on The Merv Griffin Show and was offered a chance to audition as the host of a new game show Griffin had just developed called Shopper’s Bazaar. When Woolery was doing great with the show, he requested a raise to what other hosts were being paid, and Griffin was angry. So he fired Woolery and hired Pat Sajak. Woolery noted that Griffin “wanted to get the best of me” and said the two never spoke again before Griffin died of prostate cancer in 2007. But Chuck was not one to die out. He bounced back on the Daytime show scene with 'Love Connection', hosting more than 2,000 episodes of that show from 1983-94. By now, he was making up to a million a year according to People. Chuck was also the face of other game shows including Lingo on the Game Show Network, Greed on Fox and a rebooted The Dating Game for syndication. The Kentucky native earned a Daytime Emmy in 1978 for his work on Wheel of Fortune. Chuck was married four times. He is survived by his wife, sons, Michael and Sean, and his daughter, Melissa. First results from California's Universal Basic Income trial show employment rose

First results from California's Universal Basic Income trial show employment rose
Michael Tubbs didn’t see much risk in giving money to his city’s poorest residents, no strings attached. The former mayor of Stockton, a city in California’s Central Valley, is a strong proponent of universal basic income, a policy that essentially pays people for being alive as a way to alleviate poverty.
“My belief in it came from being raised by three amazing women, including my single mom,” Tubbs told Insider.
“The issue wasn’t that they couldn’t manage money. The issue was they never had enough money to manage.”
As mayor, Tubbs spearheaded the Stockton Economic Empowerment Demonstration, a pilot program that gave 125 residents debit cards loaded with US$500 each month. The program launched in February 2019 and ended in January.
Its critics argued that cash stipends would reduce the incentive for people to find jobs. But the SEED program met its goal of improving the quality of life of 125 residents struggling to make ends meet.
To qualify for the pilot, residents had to live in a neighborhood where the median household income was the same as or lower than the city’s overall, about US$46,000.
A new report from a team of independent researchers found that Stockton’s program reduced unemployment among participants during its first year and helped many of them pay off debt.
The report studied the effects of the payments from February 2019 through February 2020. SEED participants also reported improvements in their emotional wellbeing and decreases in anxiety or depression.
“It’s really made a huge impact on my quality of life and being able to go do just normal things that a lot of people take for granted,” one participant said in the report, “whether it’s go out to eat once every two weeks and sit down for a nice dinner, or whether it’s, you know, my mom’s birthday and I just want to get her a birthday present.”
Tubbs said it was likely that the $500 monthly payments helped in other ways during the pandemic, such as tiding people over until their stimulus checks arrived or allowing them to take days off work if they got COVID-19.
“We know anecdotally that the $500 allowed some members of the program to stay at home and not go to work because they don’t have paid time off,” Tubbs said.
“They were able to listen to the doctor because they knew that the two weeks off work wouldn’t be catastrophic.”
Most of the money went toward food and merchandise
Participants in Stockton’s basic-income program spent most of their stipends on essential items.
Nearly 37 percent of the recipients’ payments went toward food, while 22 percent went toward sales and merchandise, such as trips to Walmart or dollar stores. Another 11 percent was spent on utilities, and 10 percent was spent on auto costs. Less than 1 percent of the money went toward alcohol or tobacco.
By February 2020, more than half of the participants said they had enough cash to cover an unexpected expense, compared with 25 percent of participants at the start of the program. The portion of participants who were making payments on their debts rose to 62 percent from 52 percent during the program’s first year.
Unemployment among basic-income recipients dropped to 8 percent in February 2020 from 12 percent in February 2019. In the experiment’s control group – those who didn’t receive monthly stipends – unemployment rose to 15 percent from 14 percent.
Full-time employment among basic-income recipients rose to 40 percent from 28 percent during the program’s first year. In the control group, full-time employment increased as well, though less dramatically: to 37 percent from 32 percent.
“Everything I thought would happen, I said would happen – I argued with Sarah Palin and Chuck Woolery and talked to ‘CBS This Morning’ and Bill Maher about – actually happened,” Tubbs said.
“I remember telling people, ‘I think that $500 will allow people to work more if they choose to do so.’ And that playing out in the data, it makes me so proud.”
The researchers also found that decreases in anxiety, depression, and extreme financial stress encouraged participants to set goals and helped them better cope with unexpected financial setbacks.
“I had panic attacks and anxiety,” one participant said in the report. “I was at the point where I had to take a pill for it, and I haven’t even touched them in a while.”
Basic income faces an uphill political battle
Tubbs lost his reelection bid in November, but his departure didn’t affect the SEED program, since it was always designed to be temporary.
Tubbs’ vision is to make basic income a national policy. In June, he launched Mayors for a Guaranteed Income, a coalition of mayors interested in starting similar basic-income pilots across the US.
At least 40 mayors, including Eric Garcetti of Los Angeles, Keisha Lance Bottoms of Atlanta, and Jenny Durkan of Seattle, have joined the group. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey donated $18 million to the cause.
Inspired by Stockton’s trial, Saint Paul, Minnesota, started a basic-income pilot in the fall, giving $500 a month to 150 low-income families for up to 18 months.
Richmond, Virginia, is distributing $500 per month to 18 working families. And Compton, California, is giving 800 residents a guaranteed income of $300 to $600 a month for two years.
No Republican mayor has joined Mayors for a Guaranteed Income – and interest in a basic-income policy skews heavily Democratic. Andrew Yang, a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, made basic income a prominent part of his campaign platform, pledging to give $1,000 a month to every US citizen over 18.
Tubbs said there was more than enough research to suggest that a federal basic-income policy would improve Americans’ quality of life.
“I am so proud of all the pilots, but I’m ready for policy,” Tubbs said. “I’ve got all the evidence I need.”

Greatest And Well-known Irish Actors And Actresses Hold on to your hats because chances are you never knew these internationally known actors and actresses hailed from the tiny country of Belgium. Robert Pine, 71, is a longtime TV character actor who co-starred in 'Chips' within the early ‘80s. There is a faculty of thought out there that actors have to usher in the stronger healthier Ego. The wedding was held at Aston Home at W Seoul's Walkerhill, with a thousand invited attendees, where some notable actors and actresses were also current. Chuck Woolery is one actor who has at all times managed to supply good performance in any role. A rarity, though it's a sad matter of reality, among the actresses in Hollywood right now, as it appears the actors dominate the leads in motion pictures. Aside from being an actor, Yong Jung Hwa is the leader of the famous indie korea band, CN Blue, with their hits, entitled I'm a Loner. So right here is the listing of standard and handsome Taiwanese actors that you could know before you take into account your self as a Taiwanese drama fan. There are lots of completely different strategies that could be used to attach with people that specialize in the leisure industry, in addition to those which might be actively seeking aspiring actors. In 1977, he and his siblings have selena gomez porn video been moved to Alabama to reside with their aunt before Ellis determined to move back to Chicago at age 15. And appearing jobs will always be very restricted, so we actors will survive solely by accepting good roles once they happen to return along. Either approach, there are plenty of effectively-identified actors out there who want to avoid the celebrity title as a lot as attainable. Throughout his 20s, Renner was a struggling actor dwelling on $5 a week and consuming a strict food plan of noodles, doughtnuts, and McDonald's. In the following years he continued enjoying gangsters (Angels With Dirty Faces (1938), Roaring Twenties (1939) for the Warner Brothers studio who have been recognized for their gritty and reasonable pictures. Due to this fact, they won't care about what it is they do so long as they end up being famous. In line with this theme you can choose to wear garments like the famous fairy tales characters for instance Little Red Driving Hood, Sleeping Beauty, and even Cinderella. In this article, we're leaving out fantastic British, Australian and Canadian actors and actresses, as we are specializing in those that haven't got English as their native language. Although the actor has had his struggles with alcohol, it is fame that has been the biggest difficulty for him. However whereas many individuals retire nicely before they qualify for Social Security, a commendable variety of actors maintain working and producing memorable work nicely into their 70s. Mike Rowe — An actor and opera singer, he at present hosts Soiled Jobs and Shark Week on the Discovery Channel. Reese Witherspoon has slowly moved up the ranks where her performing profession is concerned, now certainly one of Hollywood's brightest and most promising actresses. When I watch him in Murphy's Law of Love, I'm very proud of myself admiring an important actor like Danson who got here this far! Maybe it's due to my background in performing arts, however I am extremely comfortable to hear that skilled actors on the top of their games are finally making it into the MMO style. Shah Rukh Khan who was a struggling actor at that time discovered his foothold within the business and soon grew to become a megastar. One other talented actor in tamil industryMore than an actor he also a great dancer.Normally his filims getting good opening in boxoffice. West Week Ever: Pop Culture In Review - 1/13/17
In movie news, we got a trailer for CHiPs, starring Dax Shepard and Michael Peña. That’s right, the California Highway Patrol are gonna get their own film. And I couldn’t give two shits. I’ve probably seen 3 episodes of that show in my lifetime, so there’s no nostalgia factor for me there. I’m going into this the same way I went into Starsky & Hutch – another show I’ve never seen. I thought the trailer, however, was kinda funny. I’ve heard a lot of folks ragging on it, as they see it as the “21 Jump Street Model” being applied to the CHiPs franchise. I feel like, without it being a comedy, there’s not really much you can do with that concept. It’s cops on motorcycles. How do you add drama to that? One of them gets a flat tire? I like the fact that it’s a comedy, though the trailer is far from the funniest thing I’ve seen. There’s no way I’m setting foot in a theater to see it, but I’m totally gonna watch it, either via Redbox or “Other”. I mean, Peña is a national treasure. He’s great in everything he does, and I feel like the only reason he doesn’t get more accolades is due to his alleged ties to Scientology. Anyway, a CHiPs movie is coming. Tell your grandpa!
During the Television Critics Association winter press tour, The CW surprised everyone by announcing the early renewal of 7 shows, including Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, The Flash, Supernatural, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Jane the Virgin. This is a major win for Ex-Girlfriend, seeing as how it’s the lowest rated show on broadcast television. This will also be whopping season 13 for Supernatural, which I can’t even believe. I joked on Twitter that star Jensen Ackles must’ve made some kind of Faustian deal around season 5 that he can’t figure out how to get out of. Like, those dudes are completely typecast at this point, where they have nothing to look forward to other than a life on the convention circuit. But it’s good work if you can get it!
Anyway, the most surprising news was that The CW was resurrecting Constantine, starring Matt Ryan…as an animated series. Yes, Constantine will join Vixen as a CW Seed original webseries. Ugh. I’ve expressed my disdain for webseries in the past, but it’s not like I was gonna watch it anyway. I only liked Constantine in his cameo on Arrow, but never watched his series. And the Vixen CW Seed show was so forgettable that I can’t even remember if I finished both seasons. But who knows? Maybe this will be good? I’ll wait til someone I trust recommends it.
Surprising no one, it’s being reported that Girl Meets World is being shopped around to other platforms. In recent interviews, it was revealed that Disney Channel wouldn’t let the show explore some themes that the writers wanted, but I still think it got pretty heavy for Disney fare. Anyway, I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up at Freeform or Netflix. It seems like everyone would be on board, and maybe it could last as long as its predecessor.
In the world of comics, it was announced that Brian Michael Bendis would be writing a Defenders comic, to be released around the time of the Netflix series of the same name. The series will feature Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. I feel this is bad news for writer David Walker, however, who happens to be writing the current Power Man and Iron Fist comic. Sure, there are multiple Spider books and multiple Iron Man books, but I just don’t see those guys carrying multiple books, especially considering the low sales on PM & IF. I don’t know if I’m looking forward to this or not. On the one hand, I love Jessica Jones and, besides Miles Morales, think she’s the greatest Bendis contribution to comics. I also love how he writes Luke Cage. He got his chops writing Daredevil, so he should be good there, too. At the same time, he’s not the writer he used to be, so I’m not sure if he’s got “It” right now. Still, I’m a dumb fanboy, so I’ll be checking it out when it hits stands.
Things You Might Have Missed This Week
The cast of Downton Abbey has been told to clear their schedules for a possible film. I still need to get past season 4, so I don’t even know what a movie would be about at this point.
Love Connection is returning to the airwaves, courtesy of Fox. Chuck Woolery, however, will be replaced by Bravo’s Andy Cohen.
Speaking of Fox, primetime soap Empire was renewed for season 4. I finally gave up on it this year, so good luck with that!
Breaking Baddie Gus Fring is rumored to be showing up on Better Call Saul next season.
American Horror Story has been renewed by FX for seasons 8 and 9. I’ve never seen any of them, but I know some of y’all liked the early seasons at least.
David Goyer and Justin Rhodes have been hired to write a Green Lantern Corps film, which will star Hal Jordan and John Stewart
This adorable 4-year old, Daliyah Marie Arana, has already read over 1,000 books and visited the Library of Congress as Librarian for the Day
Sky TV in the UK was going to air a special about Michael Jackson, but the episode has been cancelled after fan backlash when a photo of White actor Joseph Fiennes as Jackson was released
The 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards were held last Sunday, celebrating the best in television and film. Surprising everyone, freshman show (and former West Week Ever recipient) Atlanta won the Golden Globe for Best Musical or Comedy in Television. To top things off, though, its creator and star, Donald Glover, won Best Actor in a Comedy. It was well deserved, as the show was nearly perfect, and Glover was behind all of it. Well, Glover’s week got even better a few days later, as he inked an exclusive development deal with FX Productions. The only bad news was that FX announced season 2 of Atlanta will be delayed until 2018 because Glover’s so damn busy. After all, he’s got to film his Lando Calrissian scenes for the upcoming Han Solo film. So, I think it’s safe to say this was Donald Glover’s week, which is why he had the West Week Ever.
Programming Note: I’m skipping next Friday because it’s the inauguration, and I’m sure this post will be the last thing on your minds. BUT tune in next Wednesday for West YEAR Ever!
