a very twilight emerald city comic con!
for this cosplay I spent more time crafting the decapitated Carlisle Cullen head from the battle scene in Breaking Dawn part 2.
I bought a latex head/neck mask, then cut it so I could place a small purse inside the head. I cut a slit in and attached the wig with hot glue (do not recommend, use e6000 lol) and safety pins. I also pushed the zipper pulls from the purse to help keep the wig/mask in place and by the end of the long con day it was slightly falling apart. I painted and pinned the neck of the mask to give it a rough texture.
The outfit is just a lined costume cape. For the top I hot glued gold ribbon and large gold buttons to mimic Aro’s top. Then I just wore swim suit bottoms, tights, and pointy toe doc martens.

Something's up in Prague!
I finally completed my cosplay of the demonic fashion icon that is Shax and then spent a wonderful afternoon with other GO fans!
Information on Gabriel was gathered, junk mail delivered and sarcasm misunderstood. No humans were harmed in the process - the local population was actually quite pleasant and the children especially loved Crowley's wings.
Thank you, @fuzzywhispersbear and @drimmsydra , for geeking out with me in my local park and making my neighbours wonder what the kids are up to these days. And thank you, @neil-gaiman, for creating such amazing characters over which we can connect, get creative and make new friends!

Bonus: No demon is safe when Crowley deploys his wings.

Last weekend was magical! I traveled from Spain to see the play "Nye" at the National Theatre on Saturday with my best friend. We really enjoyed the play. Michael's performance was outstanding, and the rest of the cast was also excellent.  I got to meet Michael Sheen in person, which was a dream come true for me. I admire him so much as an actor and as a person. He was the kindest, most patient and adorable man in the world with all the fans who were there. I was very nervous, but as soon as I was near him, I calmed down and was able to talk, give him a (very long) letter and a small drawing that I had made for him. I was even able to ask him for a hug, I don't know how I dared, I guess his aura of good person made me have the courage to ask him.

On Sunday, I went to the London Comic Con Spring with my friend. We had been preparing our Good Omens cosplays for weeks, and it was the first time we were going to wear them. We were quite successful and were asked for many photos at the event. Then in the afternoon we decided to go to Regents Park and take some photos there too. We caused some shock among the tourists who were walking around, and we heard comments like: "They must be from a theater." Also, some people asked us for photos, although only one knew that we were "Crowley and Aziraphale".

I don't think Neil Gaiman will ever see this post, but if he did I would love to know if he approves of our Victorian Good Omens cosplays. We really enjoyed being Aziraphale and Crowley for a day. ^_^

When Crowley is tending the bookshop while Aziraphale is in Edinburgh HE IS WEARING A CARDIGAN! It’s lightweight fabric and a tight fit but IT’S A CARDIGAN - beloved by fussy pedantic booksellers everywhere. 😁
It’s most clear in the scene at the window with Jim where he’s talking about getting Maggie and Nina together and says Vavoom! (Apologies for the crappy photo above.)
He also has some strange bands on over the sleeves at his biceps. My guess is that they’re something Aziraphale wore a century or more ago to keep his sleeves out of the ink when he was writing at his desk without rolling them up and creating a lump. I know they had faux sleeves with elastic at both ends to put on over your sleeves for that purpose. If this is the case
HE’S BASICALLY COSPLAYING AS AZIRAPHALE!
Or as much as one can Cosplay Aziraphale while wearing all black and skin tight clothing. He does have standards!
And while he’s doing this Aziraphale is in Edinburgh cosplaying as a reporter. 😁
I’m not sure what the yellow Bentley is cosplaying as.
ETA much better pic of the cardigan under his suit jacket:

A funny thing about when one of my besties and I did our Good Omens cosplay in 2019. We *never once* discussed who would be which character, but simply went off and independently began working on our costumes. Clearly our aesthetics and personalities are such that no discussion was necessary, as it worked out perfectly.
That's me on the right 😈🐍

Shax had a tough time delivering Crowley's mail at The Ineffable Con:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After collecting the Traitor's mail for months,
Tumblr media
teaming up with a doppelganger,
Tumblr media
interrupting intimate moments,
Tumblr media
using threats
Tumblr media
and demonic karate skills,
Tumblr media
and chasing the Traitor around the entire Moor Hall, while the Traitor was chasing his emotional support angel,
Tumblr media
Shax asserted her dominance and delivered the mail
and could finally have some time for herself.
Tumblr media
Many thanks to my very own emotional support angels @fuzzywhispersbear and @drimmsydra ❤️ The whole weekend has been an absolute blast!

Bit late to share my Nanny Astoreth cosplay, but here we go! More info under the cut.
To all the folks who attended the Talent show and/or submitted: loved seing your creations! Can't wait for a next year!❤
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The main part of the cosplay- the coat, was made by me. From black wool, satin and burgundy nylon lining. I sewed by machine and by hand. The pattern is roughly 1890s. I wanted to make a coat that is also wearable for a normal day, not only a cosplay. (It will have it's premiere in about a week when I go to see very good production of Hamlet in the theatre.)
I always wanted to have a coat like this, so I added a little Nanny Astoreth magic to the mix and made one of my dreams come true.
Edit: I was asked about some sewing info, so there you go! Warning: I'm not a seamstress, I start and complete my sewing projects only by the inaffable audacity I posses, usually by the method of trial and error. So if you're a seamstress, please don't execute me or burn me at the stake for this, please.
The pattern is from Black Snail Patterns, it's their Victorain 1890s coat. I made few alterations: I combined the two patterns you get (with the skirt or peplum). I picked sleeves from the peplum variation but kept the skirt. (More about the skirt later.)
I made no mock up. That's it, you can crucify me. I just went for it and hoped for the best. Probably don't do that.
This was my "first" in many ways: first time using pattern with included seam allowance, first time working with interfacing, first time doing an overcoat. There were some easy part and some hard ones. I won't go over the whole process, just share a few tips I found helpfull.
Here's the whole coat with the inside. (Colours are a bit brighter then in real life, I had quite a different lighting. It also isn't so shiny.)
Tumblr media
Before I even started sewing, I ironed in interfacing. This makes the coat stiff and strong. (I sadly have no pictures.) The pattern will tell, where to do that. I used baking sheet, so it wouldn't stick to the iron.
To ensure I have the bodice pieces all lined up, I marked the waist-line by thread. Chalupa wouldn't hold and thread made it so easy to work with the pieces. Over all, sewing the bodice together wasn't a problem, but here comes the hard part...
The satin lapels. I had a breakdown over these. I'm not kidding. First, I just sewed them in, and to make them all nice and smooth I ironed them to the ineterfacing on the wool outer layer. That turned out to be a disaster. The seams were showing on the corners because there was more fabric. I had to carefully rip it apart and think of another solution.
I decided to iron in new Layer of interfacing, sticking just to the satin. This was achieved but putting baking sheet between the two fabrics, so it doesn't stick together. There are some photos of the interfacing pinned and not ironed and then when I ironed it. (It was honestly going back and forth, trying not to overheat and melt the fabric whilst making it stick. It took forewer.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(As you can see, the collar is stitched on with red thread. That was just to hold it in place, I later handstitched it with black one. I used the same "two interfacings" method for the collar as on the lapels. You can also see a tiny bit of the interfacing in the upper left corner of the second photo.)
Sewing and sewing in the lining wasn't much of a trouble. The sleeves took a while to figure out, but it was mainly my thread ripping while I gathered them.
The skirt was the easy part. I pinned it on and tried it, saw the waist was too low and made my proportions weird. I just moved it up and trimmed the rest of the fabric. Here you can see how the inner seam is done. It was pretty easy.
Tumblr media
About the additional stuff - buttons, buttonholes and the buckle and belt. Buttons were made by me. I wanted them to match, so I bought a little box for making custom fabric buttons. Easy and fun! Buttonholes were supposed to be easy. First two were. The third was a disaster. What can I say? Check your foot and settings. You don't want to be undoing that. I bought the buckle in the shop, sewed the belt. The wholes for the buckle were done by sewing tiny buttonholes. I did the same for the prog of the buckle. Worked surpridingly well.
Tumblr media
That's probably all the tios I have.
Last but not least, I have a tiny fun detail. I embroidered a little star for the starmaker! And I love it dearly!
