What about yuu with a paradox pokemon becuase of the whole thing about being from different worlds

ooh, I hadn't thought about that, but I like it! like, I think Grim fills the role of Yuu's pokemon (or vice-versa) (somehow) but I kind of love the idea that he's some kind of far-removed Paradox or alternate-timeline version of another pokemon or something. honestly, there would probably be a lot of theories about what exactly he is! mostly it involves throwing a lot of pokeballs at him and seeing what happens.

also just for fun I want to make him slightly more pokemon-proportioned:

I would love to hear about your picks for Michael. I can't figure out why the Pyukumuku pick?

- Absol: Absols are regarded as portents of disaster. Michael’s good at being around for those. In my head he caught it the day David died.

-Ninetales: He had to have one fox on his team, and this one helps him commit arson.

- Parasect: Parasect is a corpse controlled by an invasive parasite. Michael can relate.

-Shedinja: Shedinja is a hollow corpse that can be impossible to kill unless done in a very specific way. Michael can relate.

- Hisuian Typhlosion: Kind of a last minute pick on my part, but all the Aftons ended up with one Hisui mon and H. Typhlosion checked the boxes of dead, arson, and purple.

So we've been joking and talking about how fucked up and evil it was that Ardos wanted to blow up Citadark Isle, including his own people, just to get rid of Michael and make sure he and his family can get away, but here's one thing that just occurred to me.

While Ardos asks Greevil to give the order, there's nothing indicating that he couldn't have done it without that if necessary. He could've still blown up Citadark Isle - if the lives of his father and his brother were worth it to him.

But he didn't. So while Ardos may have been willing to kill a child and countless people on the island in the name of Cipher, he wasn't willing to kill his family.

And you know what? I think Eldes knew this. I think he knew that if he a) manages to convince Greevil to accept defeat and b) essentially puts himself between Michael and Ardos, Michael will survive and Cipher will die (maybe, hopefully). Because Eldes knew that Ardos could never bring himself to kill him
