18 years ago today .... Prince wows at the Super Bowl XLI halftime show, closing with an otherworldly rendition of "Purple Rain" in the rain.

The game was between the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts, but many remember the halftime show far more than the football (the Colts win, btw).

In his 12-minute set, Prince plays parts of "Let's Go Crazy," "Baby I'm a Star," "1999," and the Foo Fighters song "Best Of You".

For the finale, the lights dim and Prince captivates the crowd with "Purple Rain," casting a striking visual as purple light sparkes through the raindrops. When a billowing curtain rises, he is seen in silhouette with his signature guitar, a lasting image in many consider the greatest Super Bowl halftime performance in history.

A papaya wins in Miami! Welcome to the Grand-Prix winners department!

Incredible but true: Verstappen was defeated on the track! Lando Norris won for the very first time in F1. Congratulations on that and welcome to the winners' club! Max wasn't flawless this time around; for example, he had to cut the chicane at the highway entrance once and took out a bollard in the process. While Lando benefited from a Safety Car phase triggered by another incident caused by Kevin Crashnussen, which sent local hero Logan Sargeant into the wall, Lando Norris was clearly the fastest driver on the track and deservedly won the race. Aston Martin, on the other hand, wasn't really up to speed this weekend and had a tough time. Mercedes, who had a very poor performance in the sprint, had a good race, especially Lewis Hamilton who performed strongly. Carlos Sainz also didn't have the best day, as he initially pushed his tires too hard and lost time to Piastri and Leclerc towards the end of the first stint, and later in the race received a penalty for an incident with Oscar Piastri. A major topic this weekend is undoubtedly Kevin Magnussen. I believe what he delivered this weekend, especially on Saturday in the sprint, must be harshly penalized, as it was grossly unsportsmanlike and could end up being really dangerous. Moreover, the accident on Sunday with Sargeant was more than unnecessary. Also, he has done something like this not for the first time. I also want to mention Ricciardo's strong performance in the sprint, as he climbed from 4th place to that same fourth place. Unfortunately, things didn't go much further for him in the main race's qualification, and even in the race itself.

Sprint Weekend Alert! + Ferrari special livery

The usual reminder that this weekend (Miami) we have a sprint weekend, so the qualy for the sprint race is on friday and we have the sprint race on saturday morning, followed later on sautrday by the qualy for the main race on sunday.

Courage in the Unknown

Today, for the first time in her one year of life, Ashi ventured out into our backyard. Found as a tiny runt in a shopping cart in a parking lot, she never truly knew the outdoors. The past year was spent in a small bedroom in a temporary living situation until she was adopted and learned a world beyond a tiny windowed room. Little by little, she ventured out into our living room—and from there, she graduated to a little explorer of the Bungalow.

We didn’t know how she’d react to going outside. At first, she had to be coaxed inch by inch with a Churu to even approach the door.

She sat behind the curtains, terrified yet intrigued. The rustles and chirps of mockingbirds, pigeons, and parakeets echoed in our golden hour backyard.

Ashi felt reluctance and allured at the same time by something so incredibly unknown—innately frightening. But after a few times of darting back and forth between the curtain and first steps, she began to prowl through our garden, chirping along.

By the end of our session, she kept darting back outside even after being taken back in. She was a kitty converted. It was such an overwhelming moment to behold. This cat transformed from being frightened of the world to being emboldened to explore it.

There’s a lot of unknown in the world right now. It’s easy to get caught up in your mind's concept of a thousand deaths rather than living in the present moment. The world may burn tomorrow—or it may not— but for right now, the birds are singing and golden light whispers through the wind chimes of our mango trees.
