A wish
Izuku's looking at his window, enjoying the summer night breeze. Since he was a teacher he never enjoy the meteor rain like before. Every years he used to see it with Kacchan, but ever since they graduate from UA and seperated from their carrer, he never had chance to spend time with Kacchan like before.
Kacchan was busy saving people, and Izuku would never blame him. They trained hard for this, and seeing his childhood friend fulfilling his dream was amazing.
He looked at the sky with a bit of regret in his heart, wondering where was Kacchan and if he had eaten already. Then he saw it.
A shooting star!
Immediately Izuku closed his eyes and prayed that Kacchan would be always safe. He always prayed that, making sure his friend would come back to him without problem.
"I should remind him to eat..." Izuku mumbled as he took his phone from his pocket. "I know he won't answer but at least I'll try!"
He sent the message and looked up at the sky again. His phone buzzed once again.
[Kacchan] : Why are you still up?
[Deku] : Enjoying the meteors, why?
Izuku's heart beat increased with happiness, Kacchan took time to answer him. He was glad that their friendship fot better those last years.
"You should come on your roof, nerd! The view is better!" Kacchan's voice from above startled Izuku!
"Waaa-chan! What are you doing here?" Izuku leaned from his balcony to see the blond on the roof of his appartment.
"Enjoying the meteors with you!"
Katsuki jumped from the roof and landed smoothly on the balcony. His cocky smile made Izuku flustered.
"Why here?" He asked, almost embarassed that Kacchan was so close.
"It's been a long time. And I was around so..." Katsuki shrugged and looked up at the sky. "But I'm right, the view is shit here!"
"Hey! It's a great view!" Izuku argued!
"Let's improved that!"
Before Izuku could ask what he meant, Kacchan took him by his waist and used his quirk to jump out the balcony. Izuku felt the wind on his hair and had a good memory of when he could use his own quirk to do that...
"Now it's better! What do you think, nerd?" Katsuki was smiling, proud of himself.
The best view he could have in years. Katsuki was here, alive and safe. Beside him.
"You're right Kacchan. It's the best view!"

Bakudeku #22
Izuku let out a soft gasp as Katsuki gently lifted his chin.
“Kacchan..." he breathed.
Katsuki tilted his head, expression solemn, then let go. Lightning quick, his face transformed into a wicked grin as he tussled Izuku’s head roughly. Izuku let out an audible squeak, and Katsuki’s booming laugh that followed reverberated through Izuku’s bones.
“You’re cute, nerd." Katsuki winked and Izuku blushed bright red. “Come on, move your slow ass or we’re gonna be late."
“O-okay!”
And as they walked back to their classroom, Izuku’s heart soared loud and bright.

little birdie
word count: 792
"we've got to stop meeting like this, little birdie."
hawks didn't look over his shoulder to see who it was. only one person called him by that name.
"meeting like what? me doing my nightly patrols and you stalking me?" he replied smoothly. a strong gust of wind blew, and he extended a large, crimson wing to shield himself from it.
"maybe i just enjoy your company. have you ever thought of that?"
as the man came to sit next to him on the ledge of the building, hawks changed his position from a crouch to sitting, allowing his wings to rest from keeping him balanced. the glowing city lights of fukuoka were spread out beneath him as far as he could see, and if he used his imagination, he could pretend he was above the stars.
"you shouldn't, dabi," he responded after a silence had stretched between them. " we can't keep doing this. i'm a hero, and you're a villain."
dabi turned his gaze from the lights to hawks, compelling him to do the same. "yet, you don't change your patrol routes, and you sit on this rooftop until i show up."
hawks drew in a shuddering breath and folded his wings in closer to himself. he couldn't bring himself to look away from dabi's teal eyes.
he knew he shouldn't, couldn't, be meeting him on the rooftops of his city every night. they were on opposite sides of the same war. their colleagues hated each other, and they hated each other's colleagues. they were supposed to hate each other too.
there was every possibility hawks would lose the respect, the job, the friends he'd worked and trained for years to gain if he was seen with dabi. and he knew that for dabi, the scarred, pierced man would have to face the wrath of the most powerful villains in japan. nothing good would come out the two being together.
nothing except...
"do you trust me?" hawks asked. from the other's rapid blinking, he could tell the question had been unexpected.
dabi let out a heavy exhale and stood up. “do i trust a predatory hero whose only business he should have with me is to either put me behind bars or kill me?”
hawks felt his heart begin to sink and stood up as well. as he opened his mouth to speak, dabi gave him a smile.
and stepped off the edge of the building.
“no!”
hawks thrust a hand out, trying to catch hold of even a piece of dabi’s clothing. the man kept falling.
spurring his wings into action, hawks dove off the building. he did everything he knew to do to make himself fall faster. he tried to keep his mind off of how rapidly they were nearing the sidewalks of fukuoka and instead focused on reaching dabi.
his hand still outstretched, hawks managed to grab hold of his arm. he used everything in him to pull dabi closer, closer, closer until he was tucked safely into him. his large powerful wings beat, fighting to slow their descent. he struggled to carry himself and dabi, but he wouldn’t let his wings stop until they had reached a solid structure.
hawks flew and flew, away from the city. their fall had almost brought them close to the point where even those without enhanced sight would recognize the hero and villain. he didn’t want to risk the chance that someone had.
finally, hawks spotted a field of grass. he allowed himself to get nearer to the ground, and when he was a safe distance from it, dropped dabi. he stayed in the air even after hearing the other man’s pained groan, contemplating on just leaving him there. but he knew he didn’t have the heart to.
“ow,” dabi fussed.
hawks scoffed before using a wing to smack dabi. “why would you do that?! you could’ve been hurt! what if i didn’t reach you in time?!”
“i was giving you your answer,” dabi pouted. “i was showing you that i trust you.”
dabi sidled up to hawks, wrapping his arms around him while being careful of his wings. he waited until hawks eventually relaxed into him and brought his own mouth near his ear, even though he knew hawks would have no problem hearing dabi whisper from 10 feet away with his enhanced hearing.
“i’m sorry. can you forgive me?”
a silence grew between them. hawks knew what he was doing. he knew, yet he was still falling. for the trick, for dabi? from the shiver that had run down his spine when dabi had spoken, he knew the answer.
“don’t ever do that again. i mean it,” hawks finally huffed.
grinning, dabi answered, “as you wish, little birdie.”

Hi, Kris! You can ignore this additional ask at your leisure, but I simply adore aspen trees. May I please request the dad and son in a gorgeous white-and-yellow forest? Say at midday, when the sun is directly overhead and the sky is perfect blue? <3 <3 <3
Hi, Deep! When I looked them up, they instantly reminded me of the trees at one of my favorite locations. So I'm going to use that!
Golden
Toshinori stretched his long neck, keeping his hands clasped behind his back, as he took in the sight of fluttering gold leaves against the backdrop of the blue sky. He had to squint with the sun directly overhead, but it still made for a pleasant view all the same. Paired with the gentle warm breeze, the soft crunch of the leaves beneath their feet, and the quiet breaths of Izuku beside him, Toshinori couldn't help but feel that this was one of the most relaxing moments he'd had in years.
"How did you find this place, my boy?" Toshinori regarded the scattering of thin, white tree trunks all around them before turning to look at Izuku fully. His green hair stood out in contrast to the blues and golds around them. More than that, Izuku's frown stood out to Toshinori, deepened by what he had thought had been an innocent question.
"I found it in my second year of middle school," he answered with a shrug, letting his head hang low as he kicked a few leaves on the ground. Toshinori cocked his head.
"You found it? We're a little far from home, young Izuku."
"Well..." Izuku hesitated, suggesting some part of this story might be bothersome. "I read once back then that you liked cedars."
"That's right."
"I had never seen cedars before, or any forest really, so I searched online for a forest I could get to by the train. I found this one and decided to come here one day when Mom was working..." Izuku glanced up at Toshinori, causing the man to instantly understand that he must have done this without his mother's permission. Had it been more recent, Toshinori might have felt the need to gently scold. But Izuku's face was full of regret, so he decided to let it go, simply nodding to encourage Izuku to go on instead.
"When I got here, I was a little disappointed that the trees weren't the same. I hadn't thought that much about it when I was looking it up. But then I ended up liking the aspen trees so much, I came back here anyway. And sometimes when I came here, I couldn't help but wonder if All Might would like these trees, too..."
Izuku hadn't asked a question, but Toshinori understood very well that it was a question all the same. Smiling, Toshinori looked around at the trees once more, his golden bangs fluttering in the wind to match the leaves. A few flew before him, and he reached out to grab one. Twirling the piece of yellow in his hand, he examined it briefly before turning back to Izuku.
"I might have a new favorite tree," he answered. Taking Izuku's hand, he placed the little golden leaf in the boy's palm, prompting him to close his fingers around it. Izuku blushed, placing his hand over his heart.
"You don't have to say that, All Might..."
"I don't have to say what? The truth?"
Izuku glanced up at him, then back down at his hand with the leaf tucked neatly inside. Silently, he continued to walk, so Toshinori followed.
"I'm glad you like them," Izuku finally said, stepping a little closer to Toshinori. Toshinori lifted his hand and placed it on Izuku's shoulder as they walked.
"Thank you for bringing me here."

Like a clock
Thank you @cluelesspigeons for beta reading 😘
Since the first semester of their third year, Izuku has developed a new habit. Everyday, after doing his homework, around 7 o'clock, he went down from his dorm and sat on the chair in the kitchen, focused on his quirk notebook. At the same time, Katsuki left his friends from the living room and started cooking.
Both of them didn’t talk until the meal was halfway ready and Katsuki took a spoon and turned around.
"Nerd, I need your tongue," he said, ignoring the glances from the other students.
"What is it tonight, Kacchan?" Izuku asked before taking a good mouthful of the meat with sauce.
"Curry with chicken," Katsuki simply answered before going back to his meal.
"It's delicious," Izuku complimented without looking at the blond.
Izuku tried hard to not listen to their friends on the couches saying that they looked like an 'old couple' but internally, Izuku's heart fluttered and he glanced at Kacchan. He wanted so much to be a couple.
"Oi! Deku!" Katquki shouted, waving his spoon in front of Izuku's green eyes. "Stop dreaming."
"Sorry, Kacchan!" Izulu said apologetically. "What were you saying?"
"Stop listening to the others' shitty rumors." Katsuki huffed.
"How did you—"
"I'm not deaf yet," he said, sending death glares to the students who turned around, anxious. "And to be an 'old couple' we have to be old first!"
"But, Kacchan?" Izuku asked, not understanding. "We're not a couple!"
"Really?" Katsuki looked at Izuku, leaning his body on the table. "Then let's change that."

Bakudeku #11
“God, how could I love you so much?”
And Bakugo frowned at that, opened his mouth to complain that Deku didn’t need to make it sound so horrible when he heard a soft sigh and felt a kiss on the back of his neck.
“Oh right. Because it’s you."
Bakugo froze. He bit his lip, a flurry of emotions whirling around his head and nothing came to mind except- “and that’s enough?” In such a disbelieving tone that Bakugo wanted to smack himself.
Thankfully, Izuku only giggled and murmured, “And that’s enough. More than enough."

Bakudeku #1
“Oh, we’re not dating!” Izuku blushed furiously, hands waving away at nothing. “We would never date. Gosh, me and Kacchan? Never. Never, ever, ever-“
“They got the message, stupid nerd,” Katsuki snapped, feeling bitter and odd for some reason.
Izumi tilted his head, a worried look in his eyes. “Kacchan..?”
“What.”
“Are you alright?”
“I’m feeling great,” Katsuki gritted out. “Feeling fantastic.”
“Oh,” Izuku smiled, looking noticeably brighter. “Then do you want to keep-“
“Actually, I’m gonna go to my room.” Katsuki stood up quickly and briskly walked out, not even throwing a “Night, nerd” like he usually did.

Bakudeku #7
Katsuki rolled his eyes and walked towards his door. “I was gonna jerk off, but if you fucking NEED the extra homework help-“ he froze, staring down into horrified green eyes.
“Ka- Kacchan..." Izuku stuttered. “Uh, if this is a bad time..."
And fuck, the nerd was DEAD if he thought Katsuki missed the way his eyes darted down to Katsuki’s crotch for a millisecond.
“Um, I can come back later while you.. you know..." Deku gestured something vaguely phallic, then blushed bright vermillion. “OKAY, um, I’mgoingtoleavenowbeforeIdieofembarrassment, BYE Kacchan!”
Katsuki caught Izuku’s shoulder as he turned around, not faring well either with his equally flushed face. “Holy shit, Deku, that was a joke, I wasn’t actually going to jerk off."

Bakudeku #16
“Well you know, guys aren’t really interested in me.”
Bakugo barked out a laugh. “Nice one.” He raised his glass to take a sip, then paused midway, noticing the green-haired man wasn’t laughing. In fact, he looked rather upset. Bakugo frowned and tried to reevaluate what he had said a few seconds ago... then promptly choked on his spit.
“Wait- hold the fuck up. You weren’t... joking?”
The stranger flushed. “Why would I joke about that?”
Bakugo blinked. “Well fuck, I just- how could you- I mean, how could guys not..." He stuttered off, unable to finish the sentence. “I mean, look at you,” He ended off lamely.
The stranger snorted and stared down at his drink. “Yeah, I know I’m plain."
“No, you idiot,” Bakugo groaned incredulously. “How could guys not be interested in you?”
“Oh." The top of the stranger’s ears turned pink, and he bit back a bashful smile. “No one’s ever shown their interest in me.” He gave a light laugh. “I mean-”
He tilted his head and frowned, biting on his thumb. “Well, people passing by have called me ‘darling’ or ‘sweetheart’ or-”
“That’s called catcalling, stupid." Bakugo closed his eyes and breathed in deeply. This stranger, as attractive and built as he was, tested his patience like no one else had.
“Oh!” The stranger’s emerald eyes widened. “Then, when that bartender told me to give him some of that cake-”
“That was your ASS he was talking about, and probably how fucking perfect it is."
At this, the stranger made a small choking sound. “You think my ass is perfect?”
Bakugo startled, realizing what he had just said, then slumped his shoulders, accepting defeat. “Yeah, so what? I bet you get told that all the fucking time-”
“And like I said, guys aren’t really interested in me.”
The stranger seemed to have a death wish with how much he made Bakugo wanted to pull his hair out and scream.

Bakudeku #24
As Izuku clutched his hair in his hands, on the verge of an anxiety attack, he heard the chair from the desk next to him creak slowly from the weight of someone sitting down.
He groaned, already dreading the lecture he was about to receive. “Ochako, I know what you’re going to say, and I fucked up. It’s all a mess, I’m never getting a boyfriend because he probably hates me, and I don’t blame him but I wish that he would just listen to me for once instead of blowing up and leaving!”
Izuku paused. “Well- I, um, I guess he’s allowed to do that. And I probably deserve it, too. But- but it’s just so unfair! Because even after all his yelling and storming off, why is he still so attractive?” Izuku complained while crossing his arms.
“His muscles just stare at me every time we’re in the locker rooms, and I try so hard not to look at anyone because I don’t want them to feel, like, violated!”
Izuku heard a slightly strangled noise next to him and rolled his eyes. “No, listen, he always changes right next to me, and when he catches me staring, he looks at me with that stupid smirk and asks if I like what I see! God! Which, of course I do, but I can’t say that, can I?! So I just stutter out some nonsense and look away. And we fight, too. Of course, you already know about most of them... but it’s so hard to not call after him every time he leaves first. He always leaves first. But I think I’m getting used to him leaving now at least, and-”
Izuku gave a short huff. “And yes, Ochako, I know one day he’ll leave and never come back, just like you always say. And I know it’ll be without me. So when it comes, and he leaves for good, I’ll brace myself. Just- just give me time."
Izuku hated how weak his voice sounded at the last sentence. He closed his eyes and laid his head down on his desk, facing the left to look at Ochako. He opened his eyes to thank the girl for always listening to his rants and froze.
Because Katsuki Bakugo was sitting there instead.
“Wha-” Izuku’s jaw dropped and he sat up hastily, gaping like a fish. “Ka- Kacchan! Don’t tell me you- you heard- did you hear everything?” Izuku screeched.
“Yep." And the way Bakugo replied was through his usual confidence, all edges and smirks, but Izuku caught a pained look in the boy’s eyes... almost like he was hurt before the look quickly went away and Izuku brushed it off as part of his imagination. Bakugo leaned forward, and Izumi scrambled backwards in his chair to maintain any semblance of distance between them, especially considering that he had just rambled about his most embarrassing secrets to his crush.
“So... you like looking at me in the locker rooms?” Bakugo smirked devilishly again, and Izuku wondered how he could have ever thought Bakugo could look hurt from his rant.
“N-no!” Izuku spluttered. “Wha- who says I was talking about you?”
Bakugo frowned, clearly caught off guard by Izuku’s defense. “What? There’s no one else-” He cut off, and Izuku could tell an unpleasant thought had crossed his mind, for Bakugo scowled even deeper and smoke seeped out of his clenched fists.
“Kacchan?” Izuku asked tentatively. “Are you alright?”
“Fuck that,” Bakugo growled. “Answer me, Deku. Were you talking about me?”
And Izuku felt small, overpowered, and overwhelmed by the tsunami that was Katsuki Bakugo. He gazed up and locked gazes with crimson ones.
“Yes,” he answered honestly. Kacchan could always tell if he was lying, so really, there was no point in trying to dodge the question. And Izuku had found that over the years, he didn’t want to lie to Kacchan anyway. There was never any need to.
Bakugo sucked in a sharp breath and sat down, placing himself a good distance away from Izuku (which Izuku silently thanked the heavens for). An awkward silence stretched across the classroom, and Izuku fidgeted with the hem of his sleeves as the clock ticked on by, each second a pressuring reminder of his impending doom.
Finally, Bakugo spoke.
“Why?” He asked, voice slightly cracking.
Izuku’s head shot up in shock. While Bakugo wasn’t in tears, Izuku saw the same pained expression that he thought he had imagined earlier return. So he hadn’t imagined it.
Izuku tilted his head. “How could it not be you, Kacchan?”
Bakugo scowled. “I knew it was me, Deku, it was pretty fucking obvious-”
“No, you’re not getting it." Izuku shook his head firmly, determined to make Bakugo understand. “How... how could it have been anyone else? How could you even think it could be anyone else? You work so hard, and we mostly- sometimes don’t get along but when we do, it feels like we’re flying! Like we’re unstoppable together. And despite the fights, and the mean things you say to me, I’m never leaving your side. That doesn’t mean I’ll just sit there and take it, but I’m staying here, because I know you’re more than that.”
At Bakugo’s look of incredulity, Izuku locked eyes with him once more. “It was always you, Kacchan."
This time, it was Bakugo’s turn to freeze. Izuku lowered his eyes, fear and insecurity returning once more. He felt the desk next to him shift and brisk footsteps followed to the door of the classroom. The door opened, and Izuku wondered if Bakugo remembered what he had said about his always leaving first. And how Izuku had always refrained from calling out. He wondered if Bakugo remembered as the footsteps paused, and silence hung heavy. If Bakugo remembered as he finally exited out of the classroom and down the hall.
The door closed.

Bakudeku #8
“I like you. I like you so much. Kacchan, did I ever tell you? I like you. God, I’m so drunk." Izuku’s head slumped down and gently hit the table, hand still holding onto the cup.
Katsuki froze. “You’re lying."
“Drunk people don’t lie, Kacchan,” Izuku chided, lifting his head and aiming a sleepy smile and hooded lids towards his childhood best friend.
“And yet here we are."
“No! Kacchan... I’m not lying because I’m not- I’m not even drunk!” Izuku protested.
Bakugo snorted. “Right. And you didn’t just say ‘God, I’m so drunk.’”
Izuku closed his eyes, swaying his head to the club music. “That’s just something people say sometimes... to fill the silence." Izuku opened his eyes and glanced at Katsuki. “To cover up an embarrassing truth they revealed."
Katsuki remained silent, with the only indication that he had heard anything being a tightened grip around his glass.
“Isn’t it easier to blame the alcohol?” Izuku smiled bitterly. “Even when you know you’ll remember it in the morning. Blaming the alcohol gives the other person an out, too." At that, Izuku’s gaze turned hard and steely.
“What?” Bakugo whipped his head left to face Izuku’s determined face.
Izuku tilted his head. “I’m...drunk, Kacchan." At “drunk”, he sloppily put his fingers up in air quotes. “So if you... um, didn’t want to hear what I just said, you can just pretend that it was the alcohol talking. It wasn’t, but you can pretend it was."
Bakugo stared at a red-faced Izuku, who forged on, continuing to meet Bakugo’s dumbfounded look.
“Or I can, like, y’know, pretend tomorrow morning when I wake up that I don’t “remember” anything. And we can just continue as normal." Izuku sighed slowly and rested his head on the table. He was tired. Tired of everything. Of the club, the music, the drinks... love... unrequited, no less. He sighed again and closed his eyes. “Oh whatever. Which will it be? Just tell me so we can both forget this ever happened."
After a moment of silence that lasted a beat too long, Izuku cracked open his eyes. Once again, he was stunned by how good Kacchan looked. He always looked handsome, but in the blue and purple lights drawing sharp contours in all the right places... his heart clenched, and he realized he had missed what Bakugo had just said.
“Sorry, Kacchan, can you repeat that?”
Bakugo rolled his eyes. “Stupid Deku. Can’t even pay attention when I’m talking." He flushed slightly red. “I’ll say it again, but I’m not repeating myself after this." Bakugo looked away so that Izuku could no longer see his face. “How could I just forget what you said?” he mumbled.
Izuku widened his eyes, surprised that Bakugo would ever say something like that, then mentally slapped himself, hope falling again.
“Well it’s not like it means anything to you." Izuku muttered hoarsely, eyes drilling holes into the table and not even sure if Bakugo heard him.
A pause. “How could you say that?”
Izuku lifted his head, mind spinning with what-ifs and hopeful whispers, and forest green eyes met crimson ones full of something murky and unknown. “Kacchan..." Izuku gulped. “What? What did you mean by that?”
“I meant, shitty nerd,” Bakugo closed his eyes. “That maybe I don’t want to forget what you said. Maybe I don’t want to pretend it didn’t happen." Izuku flinched, then shivered as Bakugo leaned in close to his ear and whispered roughly, hot breath tracing across Izuku’s neck. “And maybe I want you to say it again."

Bakudeku #23
Izuku’s heart stuttered as he felt Katsuki remove a curl out of his face, then gently pat the top of his head. He looked up too quickly, eyes meeting an indecipherable expression. Izuku clenched his jaw. He knew what Katsuki was like now. A playboy who tossed feelings around like they were nothing. Katsuki liked dirty flirting with heavy lids and a devilish smile and leaving the victim scraping their broken heart off the floor afterwards. Knowing Katsuki’s history, Izuku felt even angrier at the seemingly caring action. And angrier at himself for feeling flustered.
“Thanks." Izuku muttered out curtly.
He was met with no reply. Izuku glanced up again and was surprised to see a frown on Katsuki’s face.
“Thanks? The fuck’s wrong with you? What’s going on?” The blonde asked, scowling intensely.
“W- what?” Izuku nervously fingered the cuff of his hoodie. “Nothing’s going on. I’m fine."
“Bullshit." Katsuki leaned closer to peer at Izuku’s face, and suddenly Izuku couldn’t breathe. Katsuki was close, too close, far too close-
“Nerd. Snap out of it. You’re clearly not okay." Katsuki tilted his head. “Talk to me."
Izuku’s eyes widened and he felt a jolt go through his chest. “I-I told you I’m fine."
“Really?”
“Yeah.”  Izuku’s grip around his cuff  tightened, and he desperately tried to rid his thoughts of Kacchan, Kacchan, Kacchan, Kacchan-
“You’re blushing!” Katsuki crowed, a victorious smirk spreading across his handsome face.
Izuku felt like he had been slapped, moreso out of the realization that a reaction was all Katsuki wanted out of him. Another useless, pliant victim of Katsuki’s honey traps, even when he had reminded himself more times than he could count that it was all a lie, it was all fake, Katsuki didn’t really care about him- Izuku stood up abruptly. He had had enough.
“Woah, woah, calm down. Is it because I said something? Or I touched you?” Katsuki’s raised eyebrows lowered and his confused expression turned into that of a teasing one. “Aw, alright, I won’t do it again if-”
“Yes, it was because you touched me." Izuku interrupted, trying his best to glare with a cold, indifferent expression despite his pounding heart. It seemed to be working from the bewildered look on Katsuki’s face. Izuku took a deep breath and forged on. “D- don’t touch me ever again.”
Katsuki’s bewildered expression slipped off into something more incredulous. “Deku, what the fuck are you talking about? Kinda bullshit is that?”
“I mean it." Izuku could now hear his heart thumping in his ears. “Don’t touch me. I’m done with this. With whatever... game you’re trying to play. I’m not playing." Izuku steeled himself for the next part. It was like a dam had broken and all of his unspoken thoughts were rushing out. “So just- just leave me alone! I don’t want to do this anymore.”
With some horror, Izuku realized that his eyes had begun to tear up. It seemed like Katsuki had unfortunately noticed at the same time as he did and was reaching out with a hand towards his face- and Izuku swerved out of the way, stepping back further than necessary but he couldn’t find himself to care. Izuku swore he caught a hurt look flash across Katsuki’s face, but quickly dismissed the thought. Kacchan didn’t get hurt. Kacchan doesn’t care.
Izuku swiped at his tears angrily. “I think- I think it would be better if we never talked again." Then he froze, realizing the gravity of what he had just said. It was as if a switch for noise had been shut off and the only thing Izuku could hear was his haggard breathing. He dared not look up at Katsuki’s face, though noting that it was oddly silent of him. After a few more excruciating moments of silence, Izuku decided he had to do what he did best.
Run away.

Bakudeku #15
“And why do you care? Why does it matter if I get hurt? If I die?” Izuku heaved out raspy breaths, rattling and shaky. “It’s not like you give a damn."
“Shut up, shut up, shut the fuck up right now."
“What?”
Bakugo fixed a glare at Izuku. “That’s bullshit."
“What? Me dying? Or-”
“Shut. The FUCK. Up. Don’t even fucking bring that up."
Izuku felt a flash of irritation. “You can’t just- Kacchan, you can’t just ignore the very real possibility of me dying in a mission. It comes with the job. I could die."
“DEKU, shut the fuck up. You’re not dying."
Izuku snapped, his patience worn thin. “And what if I do? What if I DO die? THEN what, Kacchan? What if-”
“Then you’ll break me."
Izuku stopped, feeling like he had just been slapped in the face. Bakugo was looking at him with a soulless emptiness he had never seen before. His cold gaze was devoid of any emotion, and suddenly Izuku felt very, very alone.
“Then you’ll break me,” Bakugo repeated, standing up slowly. “Congratulations, Izuku. Now you’ve made me think about your dead body." Despite the coldness, Izuku saw Bakugo’s jaw clench for a split second. “You’re halfway there."
“Wait, Kacchan, I didn’t mean to-”
“But you did." This time, Bakugo glared at him, and somehow it hurt Izuku more to see a glare not out of hatred but utter pain and sorrow. It stabbed Izuku in the heart.  “Fuck you."
And Izuku remained silent, watching Bakugo trudge out the room.

Bakudeku #25
“Oh my god, Kacchan!”
“What,” Bakugo growled.
“You can’t just- that’s not how you should have handled that!”
Bakugo scowled. He hated feeling lost, like he was missing a crucial piece of information. “You fucking called me, nerd, so I asked her if you could come and she agreed! What fucking else is there to do?”
“Kacchan, you needed to make it seem like you really didn’t want me there, like my call interrupted your date and that this stupid, ugly kid begged you to tag along and it was really annoying but if she didn’t mind could he just follow along for a second so you could finish whatever annoying business he wanted from you so that you could return back to the date!” Deku exclaimed exasperatedly.
Then, pausing a moment to think, he pursed his lips and tapped on his chin. “And... it would have helped if you had mentioned you think I smelled bad."
Bakugo froze. The first thought he had was how everything Deku had just spouted had been literal horseshit. The second was- “But you don’t fucking smell bad."
“Oh!“ Deku bit his lip and a scarlet blush spread to his ears, making Bakugo feel weird and fluttery inside. “Thank you, Kacchan. But still, it would have helped if you had said it anyway."
“I don’t. Fucking. Get it." Bakugo wanted to scream. “Why the fuck do I have to say all that shit?”
It infuriated him further to see Deku sigh, as if the little bastard just knew something Bakugo didn’t, and pat him on the arm, to which Bakugo jerked his entire body back, heart pounding. “Oh, Kacchan. Someday you’ll understand."
