Journal Entry #72 - The Phone - Alexander Graham Bell, Inventor and Co-Founder of AT&T - Must Did Not Know How Crazy Communication Would Become - And My In-Person and Postal Mail Communications Independence - Who am I talking to?
JOURNAL ENTRY #72 Name: Manley M Collins Social Security Number: 5 7 9 ā * * ā 6 5 4 1 Date of Birth: 06/21 Place of Birth: Washington, District of Columbia Country of Birth: United States of America Date: July 4, 2022
TOPIC: The Phone - Alexander Graham Bell, Inventor and Co-Founder of AT&T - Must Did Not Know How Crazy Communication Would Become - And My In-Person and Postal Mail Communications Independence - Who am I talking to?
Happy Independence Day to the United States of America!
Schizophrenia and the recognition of my American mental health issues was created solely based on the topic when I shelled out information about a future to people that I did not know what I was talking about. Normally, life would call it a 'lie' or 'alternative truth', but made sure my American life, in English, reap every word of having anything mentioned about my future and losing it very fast with little or no evidence. So now my readers or people now dislike or love me revealing my past and present of what he/she does not expect to see.
Based on my telephone logs and great memory, people wonder who do I talk to if I am not speaking to them specifically. For me, my 792 contact list is 10% of the amount of people I would have had if I had my storage drives and no distractions in putting people in various information systems and backing up various places. I do believe in speaking to humans over artificial intelligence or interactive voice response systems. Those people I spoke over the phone or in-person or video call are as follows:
Brothers of Rho Kappa Lambda of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., police officers and every other type of officer, attorneys, lawyers, teachers, LGBTQIA+ associates/friends, heterosexual friends, families, my paternal family members, my maternal family members, classmates from Cross High School, South Carolina State University, and University of Phoenix, track and field teammates, football players, basketball players, disabled persons, Asian, Indian, European, African, American, French, Italian, Mexicans, Latinos, Brazilians, Jewish, Muslim, drug dealers, gun owners, Beta Delta of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Future Business Leaders of America, Chief Executive Officers, presidents, vice presidents, directors, project managers, program managers, leaders, small business owners, entrepreneurs, barbers, hairstylists, Human Resources managers, my co-workers, supervisors, and managers from every position on my resume, security officers, librarians, administrative assistants, doctors, nurses, case workers, mental health professionals, resource officers, principals, assistant principals, military - army, navy, marines, coast guard, air force, government officials, government employees, government contractors, the courts, judges, custodians, Phi Beta Lambda Business Fraternity, travelers, skateboarders, punk rockers, me phi me, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma Rho, Zeta Phi Beta, homeless professionals, drug users, Omega Psi Phi, Kappa Alpha Psi, Phi Beta Sigma, Kappa Kappa Psi, Tau Beta Sigma, Phi Mu Alpha, Up2Us Coaches/Coaches Across America, AmeriCorps, City Year, any department in any state I resided in, United Parcel Service, DHL Express, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, Apple, Nike, Amazon, insurance agent, appraisers, sales personnel, technologists, gamers, leasing agents, apartment owners, banks, brokerage firms, hotels, motels, airlines, restaurants, public transportation workers, car rentals, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, teens, adolescents, garbage workers, recruiters, headhunters, airport workers, all the violators of the Ten Commandments, sinners, pastors, deacons, choir members, ushers, meetup groups, church congregation, actors, gym and fitness gurus, bodybuilders, athletes from other sports, research professionals, and many moreā¦.even if do not specifically mention your area of expertise I am talking to you or something related to you.
Ever since the Journal Entry regarding my depression and how it came to fruition, I never have and do not plan to shut up for anybody since 2007-2008. I know all this information is coming fast, but I am just like you sharing in bits in pieces, but I am all at once to catch up.
Pine Street Inn provided me a locker for storage. It is about half the size of a middle school or high school locker. I only store daily stuff, such as my multivitamins (Vega All-in-One Protein Shake, Gatorade G-Fit, Lenny & Larry's Plant Based Cookies, Metamucil Fiber Gummies, Metamucil 4-in-1 Single Packs, One-A-Day Men's Multivitamin, Hydroxycut, Metamucil Cinnamon Fiber Wafers), everyday clothing, medications, and work clothing. I do laundry every two weeks. You can see them in my photo albums. Pine Street Inn provided more housing applications to Somerville Housing Authority, Pine Street Inn Housing, Woodburne Apartments, and The Bay State Banner real estate section had housing lotteries. I am still on the lottery list for a brand new affordable housing project. At Pine Street Inn, I had to get a tuberculosis test and reading done, which I was informed I was supposed to get every six (6) months.
With my former residence in Atlanta, Georgia and in between actual health or medical plans, I never signed up for public insurance. So with me very focused on rolling off United Healthcare impacting the ability for my bills to paid by MassHealth (BMC Community Health Plan now WellSense). I wanted to test At-Home Medical Tests for all the same services you see in my photo albums. I did the tests publicly so others can see me do it. The results were the same.
Racial profiling and customer profiling does happen in Boston, Massachusetts despite importing diversity to create diversity. So here it goes, Target (Beacon Hill), a white/Latino retail floor employee, did racial and customer profiling, and I informed them through their surveys. CVS Pharmacy (North Station), overabundance of female employees, did racial and customer profiling, and I informed them through their surveys, but it still happens at random. StarMarket (North Station), a white manager, did racial and customer profiling, but stopped surveys for a year now. Whole Food Market (Charles River Plaza) security did racial and customer profiling, and I informed them through their surveys and it stopped.
I got my Monkeypox/smallpox vaccine JYNNEOS from Boston Medical Center Sexual Health Clinic. I still have a residual mark from where the vaccine was placed. Hopefully, my Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides start helping my hair, skin, and nails along with my prenatal multivitamins.
I purchased TurboTax to prepare to file my taxes.
I attended BayState (Massachusetts) Summer Games. I ran the 100m, 200m, and long jump. I won the long jump. I may or may not plan to go California for the State Games of America. It is in my photo blog.
I had to seriously pray the Lord's Prayer, read a Bible verse, Joel Osteen's message of the day, and recited the 23rd Psalm before my criminal court hearing at New York City / New York State Criminal Courts. It is in my photo blog. I also attended my follow up court date in September 2022, and the case and charges were dismissed. I talked to my pro-bono The Legal Aid Society attorney via the phone, and he told me I can get a Certificate of Disposition if I needed it, but most likely not available for the next day. The way I booked my trip was through Megabus and Marriott. I booked to hear the decision and leave immediately. My case came up first and the judge told me the decision without the presence of my attorney. I did eat a good meal at Whole Foods Market (Hudson Yards) to treat myself. I missed the USATF Masters Outdoor Nationals Championship in Lexington, Kentucky. I signed up for eTrack, the free case tracking service provided by the New York State Unified Court System, to actually track my case, which I never found and could not add. Checkr, Inc. provided all the employers that I am employed by and uses Checkr's service to provide the post-adverse action notice due to New York's situation.
I joined new workforce apps called Adia and Instawork. Adia Solutions LLC, works with Adecco staffing, and I filled out the profile. My first gig was Wyndham Hotel & Resorts (Beacon Hill). I worked as a bellman and backoffice customer service. I made some friends, associates, and acquaintances. It was my first time seeing the tipping business in the hotel other than housekeeping. When I can tip, I normally tipped the housekeeping and restaurant workers. I never thought about the bellpeople. I worked as a custodian and engineer, but I had to tell the supervisor that I do not mind moving other people (Wyndham's) stuff once a month and I do not do this type of physical activity on the regular.
Boston Medical Center had to prepare me for my first colonoscopy. My BMC primary care physician prescribes Golytely as the medication and gave me the instructions. I discussed the instructions with McInnis Health Center (Boston HealthCare for the Homeless Program) doctors and nurse. A month before the procedure, McInnis Health Center provided interesting advice, but not efficient planning on how to go about the day. As the procedure came close, I was in discussion with BMC on how to prepare and I planned a week ahead for it scheduling a PT1 Medical ride. McInnis calls the Friday before the procedure on Tuesday, and ask, "Am I still coming to the McInnis House?" I politely while enraged had to tell them, "No, I made other plans."
I communicated quite a bit through the Massachusetts General Hospital, McInnis Health Center, and Boston Medical Center information system with practitioners more than any other hospital information system for care.
Transitioning from Arbour Counseling Session (Zoom Calls) to Boston Medical Center In-Person (through the Bridge Clinic - Psychiatry Department) (Previous Journal topics - I just was repeating them to new people verbally)
Boys Relationships Sex Travel Materialism Research before buying Attachment Give and Take Work on trauma Touching and Assaults Thinking and Feelings Begin Cognitive Behavior Therapy or Cognitive Processing Therapy (homework on myself)
Other Topics from Summer and Fall 2022:
I started participating in University of Phoenix Dissertation to Publication Workshop. I attended University of Phoenix Knowledge without Borders Summit. I attend the UOPX KWB in person in Chicago and Washington, DC/Virginia, but this time it is virtual.
I started working with Massachusetts Vocational Rehabilitation Center for SSA's Ticket to Work to be local and not have Illinois's virtual center involved.
I never paid attention to what was happening with my toes. After everything happens and distractions, time becomes available to actually pay attention to myself.
I worked with some new rental startup companies, such as SplitSpot and June Homes. They are two of I do not know how many that rent out the megahomes throughout Boston and other cities. SplitSpot does an application and roommate approval process for a room. SplitSpot was funny because you provide a profile and roommate communication data is shared so I had to talk to the roommates. For one place, all the rooms were vacant and the potential roommate was in another state (Florida), and disapproved me. For another place, two male roommates and a potential female roommate with a pet, disapproved me, but during phone conversation individually with all three tried to blame each other for stating their vote, 'No.' June Homes does an application and credit check before roommate approval process for a room. When June Homes denied me on credit, I had to clutch the pearls and reflect that I have to have good credit score of 650 and above to rent a room in the house plus pay deposit.
I went to Atlanta, Georgia for the first part of my vacation and stayed at the Marriott TownePlace Suites. I switched from the J.W. Marriott at the last minute to prevent any shenanigans like New York City. I met a few South Carolina State University college people (we were not in the same class to say classmate). I told all my Atlanta-based friends I was there, but I guess they wanted to do schizophrenia and not see me physically. It did not matter, but I had a great time seeing three hairstylists and/or barbers and meeting people from Atlanta LGBTQIA+ Pride weekend, and unexpectedly ran into Rho Kappa Lambda brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. at House in the Park. I flew Delta Airlines and used my points. I had a terrible experience at Subway restaurant at Atlanta Hartsfield airport, the supervisor replaced the sandwich, and the Delaware North assistant general manager did reach out to me. See my photo album.
I spent my second half of vacation in Charleston/North Charleston, South Carolina. I rented a car from Atlanta and drove to South Carolina. I played with the hands-free technology and cruise control on rural road with minimal to no traffic. I had to work at Dorchester County District Two (South Carolina Public Schools). I signed up for three days to get my feet wet and see how everything operates. See my photo album. It was very restful and relaxing. I went through a half box of magnums and eight regular condoms so it was good. Walmart was nearby so I was happy. UberEats worked very well on my order from Bonefish Grill, and it was hot and delightful. Finally, I found the CSC Works smartphone app, it worked well at the Extended Stay America hotel, and gave me a bonus for using the app. The CSCWorks vendor does Boston system of laundry centers, but you have to use a smartcard connected with one site.
I signed up for United States Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Authority's Pre-Check program. My Global Entry program known traveler number expired. I signed up for the new program.
I attended Snow Companies - Gilead - Advisory Board program on HIV prevention services and medicines.
I had to subscribe to AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss because my original two-year subscription expired. I did a month break between the original expiration and new subscription to see if anything was going to happen. I had to replace the front glass on my iPhone.
ZipCar kept sending me reminders about re-establishing membership.
I updated my National Board's Candidate Management System (NBCMS) profile, which is supported by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
I joined a new meetup Skip the Small Talk Online through the Hey Siri group. This is the first time I had audio issues over the Apple iPhone. I could hear everything, but they could not hear me. We troubleshooted for thirty (30) minutes.
I filled out DoorDash Shop and Deliver form. I was already doing it, but I guess they wanted to make it official. UberEats provided these types of orders when they know I am at the end of my day.
I updated my Hilton profile.
All of Us Research provided some data.
Allied Universal sends me Special Security Briefing I guess to keep in touch and get additional business.
Massachusetts General Brigham started sending more research surveys about new features.
I started Busuu Live Lessons.
I participated in USATF Potomac Valley Association and PVTC Zoom call and voting process. This was a first ever.
I sent in my United States Department of State Passport Application through the United States Postal Service.
I attended Oracle Cloud World. It was whole breadth of knowledge and experience on how one organization works around a winning product. I do not have the $5,000 annually for training and certification around it, but learning bits and pieces through webinar and technical papers works too.
I participated in new Crunch Fitness Malden class offerings. I participated in Crunch Fitness Summerville group fitness classes. I tried to enter North Charleston's Crunch Fitness, but that is when I was notified that my gym membership expired.
I am reading the newsletters, responses to my letter (all the different thoughts), and participating in polls by the United States Congress (Senators and Representatives).
Federal Express attorneys tried to answer the civil suit by stating nothing happened and deny everything. We are at the pre-trial conference stage. MCAD still pending. I was told to decide MCAD vs Superior Court, but I told them to settle. I am only looking for one settlement from Federal Express, but however I can proceed with Pre-Trial and private investigator to proceed with one trial for both courts.
Southampton Street Shelter's case is left with the State of Massachusetts, but just continuous notice of appearances by different attorneys. I am unsure what that is about.
I am getting prepared to 'sit and wait' because the government trained me well to let routine drive people crazy up the wall, plus speakerphone, and wait until the end of time for something to give way or give me my money for what your people did.
From my Nokia first cellphone to current Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy Smartphone Apps:
Remember black and grey screen snake game. I loved that game.
Remember black and grey screen Tetris game. Using the keypad and directional keys to get the blocks right.
I had the UberEats, Uber Driver, and Uber apps on my smartphone. I was using them, but until New York took Uber away. I threw the whole business in the trash, uninstalled, and did not bring to new phone. It is backed up in cloud storage.
I had the DoorDash driver, and DoorDash apps on my smartphone. I was using them, but until New York took DoorDash away. I threw the whole business in the trash, uninstalled, and did not bring to new phone. It is backed up in cloud storage.
I had the Grubhub driver, and Grubhub apps on my smartphone. I was using them, but until New York took Grubhub away. I threw the whole business in the trash, uninstalled, and did not bring to new phone.
Google Chrome has done a great job syncing data with is apps platform. I was impressed just as much as I use Firefox in syncing data and search abilities.
The Google sync with Android phone was impressive. No duplicate data anywhereā¦yep, throwing shade to Apple.
Security got much better with Android. AT&T Cloud, AT&T Call Protect, AT&T ActiveArmor, plus Samsung HIYA and Samsung Cloud service darn sure capture my data, photos, music, documents, everything to help me not miss one communication beat plus secure any data network for a minimum fee. No Google Cloud or Microsoft Cloud services yet.
Starbucks app exemplifies the service provided by its restaurants. It has not missed yet, even with a cup of iced water. I love the rewards, but I do not have Starbucks budget like that. Thanks for always remembering my birthday.
McDonald's app knew its customers and how to get them store with the $1 deals, but when inflation raised it to $2. I had to rethink my trips to all the Boston's McDonalds. I went for breakfast and lunch/dinner.
Grindr, Jack'd, GROWLr, Scruff, Recon, Bro, 3Fun, Mr X apps (outside of Massachusetts) are used for the purpose of sex and hookups, and its actual purpose. Inside Massachusetts, New York, or Northeast is for scamming, headaches, and from me-educational purposes to eliminate those gray matter opinions. Remember my scamming Journal Entry what folks tried to do to me.
Google Authenticator was better than Microsoft Authenticator for rolling over from various phones. I understand Microsoft's logic to authenticate each account, but it becomes a headache when more websites are rolling out multi-factor or two-way authentication. ID.me is very good for government multi-factor or two- way authentication. Adobe Access authentication is pretty good for the Adobe suite of products.
My banks, credit cards, and brokerage firms worked all my phones and iPad.
Zoom was and is pretty good with weblinks. It is used by most organizations. I played with the various backgrounds. It was slight hiccup when I tried to switch phones on my personal account, but I recovered figuring out it was multi-factor authentication had to be turned on. Google Duo/Google Meet was pretty good. Apple FaceTime was good. Video calling became a better experience.

Hi! Iāve never done one of these before, but you seem really cool, so Iād like to request a matchup, pls! Iām a 5ā8ā female, late teens, and Iām half Mexican. Iām a little on the curvy side and Iāve played volleyball for about 10 years. I love music (anime/classical) and play the piano (esp when Iām feeling stressed) and the clarinet. I have social anxiety and Iām working to become an RN. Iām the funny one in my close friend group, and they say Iām sassy, but idk. Me:āØinsecurities galoreāØ. 1/2~ā¢
>Iāve been in the GT program all my life and have felt insecure/been made fun of because of that. I love to play basketball as well and also did track and field back in middle school. Iām a huge people pleaser. I speak Spanish. My favorite color is a deep blue and Iām a Gemini. oof also Iām a huge procrastinator, am always up for cuddles or even just slight touches, and love some peace and quiet so as to play instruments, read, or just chill. I hope this is correct, hehe. Thank you! š2/2 ~ā¢<
You have been fooled I am not cool but here you go babie I hope you like it š„°š„° also congrats for being on the gt program babe thatās amazing!!! i hope youāre able to become an RN i believe in you <3
āæĀ š»š¶šæš¾šš š¼šš¶š¾šššš¾Ā āæ
ā» I honestly think you two would be the perfect match
ā» I see Iwaizumi as being into really smart people, or just widely talented, and you definitely fit that description
ā» Heās just very interested, I mean you are so smart and can do so many different things?
ā» The more he learns, the more in awe he is... like you speak another language, you play different sports, you play instruments, itās just really amazing to him
ā» Probably a lot of study dates I wonāt even lie to you, he uses them as an excuse to hang out at first
ā» Heāll also use theĀ āhey I wanna practise some spikes do you wanna help me out or somethingā as an excuse to hang out, and heās likeĀ āno no this is totally believable i mean she plays the sport this is coolā
ā» Literally will snap anyoneās neck if they make fun of you being in the GT program... like what are they making fun of? He literally doesnāt get it like oh no sheās more talented than you boohoo
ā» Number one supporter, I swear
ā» Loves to hear you play instruments, I think it would really relax him. Like he would just fall into such a chill zone if youāre hanging out and you play an instrumentĀ
ā» Heāll lean against your shoulder (if it doesnāt bother you) or just close his eyes and relax near you, I think itās very calming to him
ā» Has a thing for your hands thatās the facts, LOVES to hold your hand
ā» I donāt seem him as being overly affectionate in public so I wouldnāt expect a lot of touchy touchy PDA but he does like to hold your hand
ā» Or your fingers, I can definitely see him playing with your fingers
ā» Probably often makes sure youāre having proper meals and resting properly if youāre ever practising any sports, he worries a lot
ā» Always tells you how proud he is of you
ā» Will unintentionally laugh at all of your jokes - like he doesnāt even know heās doing it and half of them time he finds it funny but the other half he just finds you so cute he canāt help himself
ā» Heās just... happy
ā» Will want to learn the piano in secret so he can play for you just one time... He only needs 1 song it could be mary had a little lamb he just really wants to do that for youĀ

Title: The Outsider Author: Stephen King
Commenced May 24 2020Ā Completed May 27 2020
Slowly pushing myself to immerse in the realm of Stephen King compositions. Iāve already done āEverythingās Eventualā; it was a collection of outrageous shortish narratives of horror. MAJOR SPOILERS ahead!
āThe Outsiderā didnāt disappoint. It gets a substantial satisfying solid 4/5 star rating, also my very first (except Everythingās Eventual) Stephen King lengthy novel. In this read, Stephen King captures the realistic rawness of an individualās emotion. I even categorize this as a Drama, other than genre Supernatural Horror. There were scattered risible roasting dialogues in here, from beginning to the end. An example were some slightly harassing approaches of the stereotypical police characters whether during the arrest or the witness interviews. I however took delight in the chapters embodying their POVs, specifically of the private investigator. The baseball, football and basketball features gave this a spirit of locality like as if the Flint County residents were just typical neighbors youād spot in oneās own community. Although I myself am not into novels showcasing any sport element. The present 20th century was boldly represented by the following modern references: Huffington Post, Harlan Coben, Slenderman, etc.Ā There was also a sighting of my personal favorite, a Hercule Poirot trademark: vital information being considered unimportant.
There is a great quantity of characters one must keep informed of in this book. Frankie and Ollie Peterson were respectively the murder victim and his brother. I presumed Ollie has emotionally recovered and now clearheaded, turns out he was just suppressing his devastation. Ralph Anderson was primarily introduced as the assigned detective and interviewer. He was the protagonist out of all the abundant personas. He has this recurring and telling memory of a bra strap which terribly confused me about its relevance. The number of times Ralph mentions how brutal Frankās gruesome death is irritating, as if heās actually not bothered at all. Props to Jeannie, Ralphās wife, for supportive gestures, providing wisdom and advises; not nagging or annoying. Initially assumed the accused Terry Maitland was contending with his doppelgƤnger. Terryās wife, Marcy, is one heck of an emotionally strong woman; I admire how she handled every awful news that came. They have I infer a family lawyer, Howie Gold whom is too sympathetic for a defense attorney. Here included a prosecutor named Bill Samuels. I swear I couldāve smashed his face if I meet him in real life. He has this hostile boastful remarks which definitely got me rolling my eyes. At other times, I donāt even want to read his lines. A late addition, Holly, a peculiar, colorful almost-detective personality. Exceedingly pleaded for Holly, who founded the whole concept of an outsider, to maintain appearance until the finale. Come to think of it, the heinous manner Frankie was killed couldnāt really have accomplished by any sane human. The chapter transitions are fast-paced. In Sorry (July 14th-15th) Chapter 12, I imagined these scenes visually then thought of a sitcom type from the Peterson family entering the hospital building to the part of the physicianās declaration. It was amusing, particularly the aftermath reactions of other people in the emergency room. Arriving on the Footsteps and Cantaloupe (July 18th-20th) Chapter 5, I bumped with an undoubtedly brilliant and intense description of a felo-de-se.
Questions as I read on..and the answers that I discovered in the latter
1. Why didnāt Terry immediately supplied his alibi when he was arrested and first put in the police car?
Answer: My personal opinion was probably that his trust and confidence on his fellow townmates diminished because of the public shaming.
2. Wondering why Terry seems to be the focus of this book to the point which the victimās immediate family all died?
Answer: his side could actually be the more emotionally and spiritually damaged, especially with his ruined immaculate reputation and injustice
3. Has Peter Maitland got anything to do with murder?
Answer: Nope, didnāt even get any exposure
I watched the movie āItā both the part one and part two. Was planning on reading the book but put off because it was just too long. I found similarities between āThe Outsiderā and the movie āItā.
1. The protagonist had a team with him, about 5 to 6
2. The gang is diminished by 1 to 2 character involvements apparently they were skeptic; the remaining pursues the mission
3. The mission would be to stop the perpetrator from killing again
4. Villain (mostly supernatural) uses someone (a human) to help
5. The hiding place of the baddie was underground, for this read, a previous tourist attraction cave and for āItā, the sewers
6. Both featured culture, one were Mexican frightening folktales and the other was Native American tribes
7. Two words: Child disapperances
āJust promise me youāll stop every once in a while and acknowledge the day, honey. Itās the only one youāll have until tomorrow.ā
āā^ I find this quote, encouraging and substantive
Time had passed, and time probably did heal all wounds, but some of them healed so slowly.
āā^ this was just too accurate to ignore

Day 2: Part 2
(Read Day 2: Part 1 before this one. Also Iāll probably switch off Tumblr because itās a steaming trash heap of a platform.)
We passed through a little city called Presidio. You could see it from miles afar, glinting with the sheet metal and dead pickup trucks that make up the majority of its borders. It might be nice inside, but we had a national park to find and there was no time to stop.
We hit a ghost town called Terlingua, famous for its chili cook off and oddities. We pulled in and slowly drove around, looking at buildings we werenāt going to enter. There was a bumper sticker affixed to a stop sign: āDonāt MARFA My TERLINGUA,ā it read. What the Hell does that mean? We stopped at the cemetery, posed for a picture, and threw some quarters on these little white steps where it looked like people left offerings. We donāt know if that was OK to do, but it already had quarters on it and we wanted to pay respects for us taking a goddamned selfie in a graveyard.
Mexican ghosts appeased, we got back on the road.
Next stop was a desolate golf resort called Lajitas. We saw no golfers, but we stopped for water and a bag of Mexican snacks called āDonitas.ā We got the Chile y limon flavor, and theyāre really good. A hand painted sign promised āNo Gas for 50 Miles!ā so we gassed up at $3.58/gal. There was a small pen with goats off to the side and we pet them. They bleated when we walked away. We pulled off to the side and made some Motherās Day calls. The sheriff pulled up next to us and asked what we were doing. I told him what we were doing and he left, and then we left.
About ten miles down the road we saw a gas station.
Past Lajitas the roads became a windy and hilly mess. If I hadnāt been driving Iād be losing my Donitas. We got stuck behind a guy who insisted on doing 30MPH even when the speed limit changed to 45MPH. Eventually we got around him. āHe doesnāt look old,ā we said, as if that was the exclusive reason for someoneās slow driving. We passed through a couple small towns that had some variety of infrastructure, but no people. Does anyone live there? Two-thirds of the buildings were bombed out, as if by a drone strike.
We made it to Big Bend Ranch State Park, which sure as shit is not Big Bend National Park, but leads into the latter.
We pulled off the road because a wooden sign said āHOODOOSā and we had to know what that was about. We careened into a small overlook with a trailhead. I overestimated how much power we needed to get up that hill. Another couple was there an gave us a funny look as we kicked up dust and came to a halt. They had three dogs who were not happy about our presence. They offered to take a picture of us with our Fuji Instax camera we borrowed from a friend. Itās a mini Polaroid type deal. She said āhow hipster of youā as she took our picture. The film pushed out of the top of the camera and lifted the brim of her hat up. She had a lot of tattoos and a weird attitude. We thanked her for the picture and left.
We finally hit Big Bend National Park and were treated to an even more amazing sight than out trip down US-67. Without any development beyond the road the land was free to breathe its vast nothingness. The speed limit was 45MPH and we didnāt want to do a hair more than that. It was beautiful.
And then we came to the Chisos Basin Campground and every single āamazing, beautiful, wonderfulā thing we had seen until then was put to shame. The brownish red rocks are dotted with greenery and tower into the sky at such an angle youād think they were made on purpose. It looks prehistoric. This is what video games try to emulate. They have thus far failed miserably. We drove, jaws dropped for the entirety of the Chisos Basin area.
We secured site 57 at the Chisos Basin Campground.
Diana made us sandwiches with turkey, roast beef, baby Swiss, pale ale beer mustard, and pickles all on some variety of expensive bread. You know, the kind with seeds and shit all embedded in it? That kind. We sat and listened to birds as we ate out of the back of the van. A fox trotted by.
When the sun got low Diana made Jiffy Pop. It took us fifteen minutes to figure out how to use the butane cooker (that cigarette lighter was left under the counter for us on purpose, it would turn out). We lounged in the back of the campervan with the back doors wide opened and listened to Mysterious Universe, a podcast about paranormal odds and ends, and ate popcorn.
We set an alarm for 3:00 AM so we could see the night sky without the half moon, which was near its zenith at 9:00 PM. We fell asleep.
When the alarm went off the moon had just a tiny journey left before it receded behind a mountain, so I closed my eyes and dozed off for a while until the skies were clear. I had two consecutive dreams, each entailing me waking up and looking outside to find the Milky Way and calling Diana to come see. I havenāt dreamt that lucidly since I was very young. Iāve heard the desert can cause strange dreams, either from a general, subconscious discomfort from being in such a hostile environment, or by way of some natural magics that permeate through the land. Take your pick, but be warned: Youāll never know when youāre truly awake.
Somewhere between 3:30AM and 5:00AM I shuffled out of the van and looked up. I saw an immeasurable number of stars and a thin, gossamer strip running through them. Was that a cloud or the Milky Way? I wasnāt sure what I was looking for. Iām going with the latter. In flip flops and basketball shorts I tottered a few steps back to get a better look. Something yipped and barked in the distance and I jumped. There are numerous signs about the mountain lions in the area that can drag you off by the throat before you can even scream. I know cats donāt bark, but I wasnāt in my right mind, anyway. I was too lost. I woke Diana up and we stared up for a while until the shifting in the bushes became too much to bare. All I could picture was a set of green reflecting eyes pouncing on my well-fed, awestruck ass.

oops, I have a BNHA OC [self insert]
BNHA AU
Name: Itati Palma age: 15 {normal 1st year HS age} gender: Female sexuality: Cis-gender, Heterosexual quirk: Mid-range Telekinesis and Copy school: UA high class: 1-A, Intelligence Courses (Secret Service section of the school, tho not canon, is a lesser known section of UA with small class sizes)
Likes: Memes, coffee, flowers and scented stationaryĀ
Dislikes: Ignorance, Capitalism, authority figures and unseasoned food
Quirk:
What it does: Can levitate self, other object/persons, teleportĀ
flaw/limit:Ā
1) Though no limit to how much they can levitate and move other objects, they HAVE to expose their armpits to activate telekinesis (in other words, T-pose) 2) Can teleport only 2 miles at a time and even then, the location HAS to be a location theyāve visited/passed through before 3) in order to teleport an object/another person, they have to have the object/person against their chest (think of a tight hug)
what it does: copy other quirks
flaw/limit:
1) Can also copy mutations if its in relation of the quirk 2) HAS to touch the personās face with their hand in order to copy the quirk 3) Can copy someones double quirk but its harder to control 4) Canāt sustain the copy for too long, depending on the quirk and how many, can sustain between 5 mins to 8 hours
About the family:Ā
Neron Palma: Father (metal manipulation) Elde Palma: Mother (Full Range Telekinesis and Erasure) Primavera Palma: Older sister (Rampage and Fire) Joaquin Palma: Little Brother (Elasticity and Flight) Ā Ā -Double quirks run on the motherās side, Elemental manipulation runs on the fatherās side. Telekinesis runs on both sides. Hispanic family of immigrant parents and older sibling, brother and I are American born. Nobody is a pro-hero BUT quirks are used for their respected occupations. In America, theres no pro-heroes due to unjust and corrupt government, but Batman is a thing (all other comic book heroes are just comics and cartoons).
Combat techniques and preferences:Ā Ā
Though having a double quirk and being potentially powerful, they rely on their quick thinking and environment when in combat. Not really being the type to physically fight, theyāre the team strategist and last resort. Even though not choosing to be a hero, they have a signature fighting style thats a mix of lucha libre and MMA fighting. Since theyāre in the Intelligence course, they also use a whole range of gadgets like net guns, stun guns, ammo guns, flash grenades and blades to name a few that they keep concealed and carry. Works best in teams but can carry on their own if they need to.Ā
About :Ā
Just a bright and talented American teen when their whole world was rocked by an up and coming gang that attacked the high school she was attending at the time. When she saw her favorite teacher get shot by the gang leader, she stood in front of them and fought him to the death. Even though she managed to disable the leader, he shot her in the abdomen, causing her to bleed out as he escaped. Thinking this was the end of her life, she woke up in a government controlled hospital and was told that they intervened a government case and was given 3 options. To re-locate with their family, stay and die or to join the secret service but leave the country until all gang activity dies out. Though a hard choice on their family, they accept the 3rd option for the safety of their family. They fake her death and she gets quickly sent to Japan to attend UA as a last minute enrollee to the Intelligence program.Ā
School life:Ā
Since she was an international student and tested out of alot of subjects (like english, sciences and 1st year math), she was able to get a specialized class schedule that allowed them to take part of the hero course while taking intelligence courses. So she interacts with the 1-A students for 2 hours out of the school day. Everyone gets along with her and include her as much as possible, even as far as training with them. Since she didnāt bring her family with her to Japan, alot of theirĀ āadult relianceā came from Midnight, Present Mic and Eraserhead. She basically only has 2 very close friends that she met in their Intelligence course, Jin and Mimi (more on them in another post). Lived by themselves until the introduction of dorms.Ā
Uniform and Costume:
She wears the uniform like all the other girls but with more personality. Often wears colorful knee-high socks, makeup (to hid eye bags mostly), shoes vary from normal loafers to ugg looking-ass boots. On the pocket of the blazer, they wear their flag pins with pride (all international students were given flag pins to let other students know where theyāre from and home culture. Mine were the American flag and Mexican flag). Hair always done differently daily to show off how long, thick and curly it is. At first, they didnāt have PE clothes bc of their rush enrollment, so they had to wear basketball shorts and witty t-shirts to do training. When the measurements were done, her PE clothes were like the UA track suit but with shorts instead of pants and had their last name and American flag on the upper back of the jacket. As for costume, everyone in the intelligence course gets a custom variation of a black jumpsuit with utility belt and holsters. Mine was a jumpsuit with shorts, mesh long sleeves, thigh high compression stockings, steel toe boots and a drop down visor. On the upper thigh of the suit is embroidered Agent number (Im number 19) and two flags (American and Mexican).Ā
Fun details:
Acts like the class cool older sibling even though theyāre all the same age. If they didnāt leave America, she wouldāve studied to be a musician or writer. Everyone gets intrigued when they speak spanish (often its cursing). Doesnāt like using their copy quirk but the 1-A boys are always actinā the fool and they catch these hands then get their ass kicked with their own quirk. Often feels homesick and gets depressed over her situation but chooses not to seek help from others (Midnight is often the one to help them out without being asked). Doesnāt sleep much to upkeep with school work but also parties alot with their Intelligence class until the sun rises. To everyoneās surprise, she has a drivers license and drives to school (up until the dorm situation, they just teleport to school and drive when they do shopping). Is an LGBTQA+ ally and will fight anyone who bullies them, even if they donāt know them.Ā
===========================================================
I decided to share my BNHA self insert bc Iāve been having these dreams where I attend UA and live a whole ass life in that universe. These dreams have been continuous for about 4 months now and I REALLY want the 4 season to start so I can stop and dream literally anything else. In the meantime, if you stumbled upon this post and want/need to read something to bide the time until season 4 (or just want to read self insert AUs), Ill be updating often on this AU for anyoneās reading pleasure. Thanks for stopping by today :3 Ill put a link to the next one here! Bye for now!

Virtual Sketchbook 1
1. WRITING AND RESEARCH -
1. Hello, my name is Adrian. I am finishing up my first year here at SCF and am taking a couple of classes over the summer. I am planning on getting my A.A. and the transferring to USF to purse Mechanical engineering. One fun fact is that I can speak two languages: English and Spanish.
2. 5 new facts:
-Katsushika Hokusai, known simply as Hokusai, was a Japanese artist, ukiyo-e painter and printmaker of the Edo period.
-Hokusai is best known for the woodblock print series
-The mountain in the background is supposed to be Mount Fugi.Ā
-Hokusai introduced European perspective to Japanese printmaking, often taking a significant focal point and arranging his prints around this.
-Hokusai had about 30,000 prints during his art career.Ā
3. The way I thought about the art changed from the first time I looked at it, although I had seen this art piece prior to this class. I now know the mountain in the background is Mount Fugi, so this piece of art takes place in Japan. I know know how it was "painted" and know it would have been very difficult if it were not for various printing methods. I never would have thought that is was not painted by hand before this, but I am now aware of this new art technique.Ā
2. ART AND WRITING- The art that I chose a picture of the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower and the sky is black and white, while the flowers in front of it remain pink. It does not necessarily serve a purpose, but is very enjoyable to look at. It is pleasant to look at because the contrast between the structure and the flowers makes both of them stand out. It is also very simple yet still marvelous.Ā
3. WRITING A SELF-PORTRAIT-Ā Hello, my name is Adrian and I am 19 years old. I was born and raised in Bradenton, Florida. I am Mexican-American and speak both English and Spanish. For fun I like to do many things with my friends such as go watch movies, play video games, or play sports like basketball, football, or soccer. I am currently taking a couple of summer classes to get ahead of schedule. I am not a member of any organized group. I love things that involve numbers, whether thatās in school or outside of it. I love things like math or statistics in sports. I am looking to transfer to USF and pursue mechanical engineering.Ā I have always been curious on how things work, so I feel like this will help in that field of work.Ā
4. ART PROJECT (SELF-PORTRAIT)āĀ
