Oops, we failed (that’s explains the gif, you see) and accidentally deleted a question, so here it comes with a copy-paste technique…

I am a sucker for a looooong fic, over 100k words. Great plot with a chance for character development. (We know that really means smut). Give me your top fics over 100k (I don’t care if they are cannon / divergent any form of AU) but here’s the thing - I’ve already read Say Something, Living in Agony, Like Cats and Dogs, A Hole In The World and Melting Point… which were all truly fabulous! So I’m looking for high quality and high word count (and smut) which are none of the above. I know you can do it ;)

But after all, this fits into your ask since it’s long, it has character development (aka smut) and it’s very well written. Hope you enjoy this as well! (What was that note? I didn’t get lost for once. Good job, me.)

Summary: It’s been ten years since high school – since Cas told Dean how he felt and was rejected. Now he has a new life in Chicago, but he can’t avoid that small Kansas town forever. He’s home for the holidays and, low and behold, after his rental car breaks down on the side of the road, the first person he happens upon is none other than a certain Dean Winchester. Yet, in a town where homophobia runs rampant and old tiffs still hover, both Dean and Cas may find themselves at the dangerous end of pointed fingers and vulnerable circumstance.

But on the other hand, it was very hard for me to read, because a part of me was waiting for the Prince Charming Cas to come, even though I’m grateful that didn’t happen. See, mixed feelings.

He was on his way to finishing his doctorate, had recently married and now embarked on the challenge of becoming a homeowner. But most of all he had never expected to find friendship and solace in the form of the older brother, Dean Winchester, who had his own demons to face. Admin J’s notes: I love this one. I know I have recced it so many times, but it’s just worth of reading for. Again and again. Who can listen The Bed of Roses without thinking of this fic?

Summary: But that’s the whole reason he’s here, isn’t it? He’s not out here hunting Humans. He’s not even hunting deer, or bears, or anything else that featured in Bambi. He’s out here, freezing his nuts off every night, because he’s hunting Angels.

Sometimes Dean wishes that Angels were like how they’re described in the Bible. How people from time too old for him to care much about thought Angels were messengers and warriors of God, protectors of Humans. He knows that how they’re really described in the Bible is actually pretty terrifying, but at least they were told by God that they’re supposed to love Humans, right?

That’s a thousand times better than what Angels really turned out to be.

Notes: I swear to freaking God people, this is one of the fandoms hidden gems. I mean it came out 2013 and the kudos ain't even 4 digests?! THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE, PEOPLE.

I don't really like sports in general or tennis in particular, but take my word for it when I say that this is one of the most heartwarming, grounded and devastatingly sweet pieces of fanfiction I've read in quite a while! The suspense throughout the story was killing me, much like it killed Stiles, and the author has a way of making freaking tennis seem interesting. READ IT. -M

And then it was all over. Stiles really couldn't tell where the last two hours had gone. He was sure one minute he was saying 'head' and the next minute he found himself at the net shaking hands, a firm big warm hand, with Derek Hale, who leaned in and whispered something that sounded vaguely like 'well played' and 'your time to win a grand slam will come soon' or something along those lines, into his ear and then he sat himself down on the bench towel over his head as he let the last two hours slowly come back to him.

For all intent and purposes he had just been given a master class by Derek Hale. There was no other way of saying it, or trying to put a positive spin on it. Three straight sets in just under two hours. The usurper safely put in his place. Stiles could already see the headlines in the papers the next day. But no time to worry about that too much. First he needed to get through the gruelling routine of interview after interview, press conference and stupid questions as to what he thought he could have done better and where he thought he had gone wrong. This was the part of his career Stiles hated. As much as he loved tennis, and everything about it, this whole dance with the media left him more exhausted every time than a 5 set match ever could.

Honestly I could hardly sit through that scene. I’m sick and tired of the writers trying to make me feel sorry for Blaine and his continuous pity party. But nothing new there, it’s all Blaine and how he feels. What about Kurt?

Exactly. I hope we do hear more from him soon, or at least him starting to go back to his fabulous sassy self. I'm just glad that Kurt is still moving on from Blaine and going to get a new love interest. It's really a step forward compared to what they used to do to his character in the past. Kurt would always have to be all smiles, apologize, and all his forgotten. It's nice to see Kurt as a character put his foot down, say no, and be able to walk away even though we have to constantly hear Blaine's whining. I'm glad I didn't tune in this week.
