Jean happens across all kind of intimate situations, and he's not quite sure how he is so unlucky.

Written for @deathtakesapicklechip for winning third place in my giveaway! Prompt was “Unlucky, eavesdropping Jean”. Sorry that I made it sad.

“Please don’t.” Levi’s voice is so soft, Jean thinks for a moment that Levi may have just sighed.

Erwin shifts in his chair, the old wood creaking under his weight, his only arm leaning heavily on the desk in front of him. Levi sways into him, buries his nose into blonde hair and closes his eyes. “Levi, you know I must. They will not follow anybody else.”

“They’ll follow me.” His lips muffle in Erwin’s hair.

“They are my responsibility. You are my responsibility.”

Jean leans in toward the crack as their voices get softer.

“We need you here.” Levi says, it comes out soft like butterfly wings. The most gentle Jean has ever heard the captain speak.

“They need me out there.” Erwin says, it comes out tough as rusty nails. It’s the commander through and through.

Levi grasps the front of Erwin’s shirt, over his bolo tie, pulls at it with a slight desperation, his forehead pressing to the side of Erwin’s head. “I need you here.” His eyes flutter up and open, meet the crack at the door and briefly lock with Jean. Jean sputters, trips back over his own feet and into the side of the wall, his back flush against it as if trying to vanish into the stone. There’s whispering, and Jean closes his eyes, holds his breath and imagines his escape route. If he just adjusts his weight, he can speed walk away without a peep and...

Thank you. It was a horrible few hours and I feel really bad because I went off on the poor customer service person at BoA. I mean, I didn’t curse her out or anything, but I always try to be extra patient and pleasant with these people because I know they are not the ones responsible and have to take a lot of shit from people; however I was practically in tears on the phone and very, very  angry (plus, they never did solve the issue and my BoA card failed again when I made it through the queue the second time). They are truly The Worst.

But the GREAT news is that several hours of additional wait time later, I did manage to score tickets! By the time I made it back to the front of the queue, the booking agency had also extended the timeout period considerably (the first time I went through it was 7 min. to purchase, and by the time the card authentication screen was done buffering and confirmed that my transaction was denied, I got timed out and lost the tickets; the second time, my card failed again despite BoA assuring me it would work, but I had time to salvage the situation with my trusty old debit card from a bank in PA that I’ve held onto since college, haha). The tickets are not as amazing as those ones I snagged right away and lost, but they are still very decent. And even though I had to go for a later date, the performance we ended up booking is actually on my boyfriend’s birthday...which sorta makes the whole thing feel a little more special. =)

Which is all to say: BoA is still the fucking worst, but we’re officially going to London to see Cursed Child next year and I am inordinately relieved and excited. =)

If they had a fuckin’ continuity expert, the writers could forget to their hearts’ content with little to no fuss. Because, then, before the episode, someone would be able to go, “Um, no. Edit that.” Someone other than the fans, after the episode.

It’s just business sense, I mean.

I work in produce. We get bad food from the warehouse all the time. I’m not supposed to put my faith blindly in the warehouse, put whatever food they give us onto the shelves, and not think twice. Because, then, that bad food is sitting on the display stand, waiting for the customers to spot it. And then they get disgusted and don’t come back.

Cull the shit before you put it out there. When you got millions of viewers watching your shit, you’d think you’d put a little more effort into not making a mistake. *cough* Reaper-are-angels. *cough*

So you feel like Spn is cheerfully giving us a middle finger goodbye wave? Like they’re hollering “Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out!”?

I know that’s how some people feel, you’re certainly not alone. But at least they’ve never explicitly said anything like that. Whatever Bob Singer said at Jibcon about what fans he likes, it was a second-hand account, it’s pretty vague what he meant, and at least it wasn’t an open dismissal in writing from an official Spn social media account.

Although as I’m writing this, it’s a downer to realize how low my expectations are. Like, “at least they’re not kicking us openly in the street...”

I dunno. I feel like they do want their fans to stick around, they just have no clue who we are or how to talk to us, and they do have a pretty good idea what we want, but for whatever reason they can’t or won’t give us what we want.

It’s scary to think that you might have to leave a fandom that’s been so important to you for years. I interact with the fandom daily, it’s really one of the touchstones in my daily existence. I need it, I really do. Right now I’m thinking I won’t tune in for season 11, but I’ll keep track of what happens on tumblr and Twitter and possibly watch Cas scenes on YouTube. Based on that, I may or may not return to the show, but I know I will still be in the fandom. Right now that feels like a situation I can live with, but of course it won’t work long term if my worst fears for the show come true. Then I’ll have to leave the fandom or turn into a bitter, resentful wank machine. Bitterness can be a surprisingly addictive flavor but it’s not good for the soul, so in that case I know have to leave eventually. It will take time though, because it’s going to affect my whole life so profoundly.

eww, anon is rude. I've also seen ppl try to say he was ~mourning~ the impala. and I'm like ?? (For me it was about Cas tho)

to be fair - I assumed at the time (and still pretty much do I guess) that the only intention the writers had with the scene WAS for it to be a purely COMIC scene in which Dean is bemoaning the loss of the Impala (considering the singing comes, IIRC, literally immediately after them having given up the Impala and Dean bitching about it)

I’m also 98.5% sure that’s all J2 felt/feel the scene was about

so, yeah

dead of the author and all that jazz, so intention doesn’t matter 

but I actually do totally accept the Impala reading, I think it’s understandable and even, probably, maybe(?), the reading the majority of viewers instinctively make... like, I’m pretty sure it’s the reading the majority of the GA take from the scene... and, well, yeah, it was the understanding that immediately sprang to mind for me - it was only afterwards that it crossed my mind to think ‘oh hey, you can totally read that as Dean missing Cas too, awesome!’

so, the ‘missing the Impala’ reading is actually the main reading I hold as well, sorry! it feels... idk an easier reading to make for me? like my mind naturally leans towards it, whereas I feel like I’m having to work a bit harder to see it as being about Cas

but I really like the idea of it being about Cas! like, he starting singing (or well, lip syncing :p) as a way of purging his sadness about the Impala, but then as he got into it deeper emotions started to bubble up until it wasn’t so much about the Impala anymore :)

I was tagged by castiel-left-his-mark-on-me for this awesome tumblr challenge.

I could honestly post every tattoo I have and tell a story for each. My tattoo’s are my story and they mean a lot too me, so narrowing it down was super hard. I had to go with these ones. 

Gonna put it below a cut it got a little long lolol 

So this one says “Forgiveness is the release of all hope for a better past.” it’s from the Buddy Wakefield’s poem Hurling Crowbirds at Mockingbirds. I highly recommend listening to it, it’s just idk it saved me. I had so much anger for so long, been through so much, and so I have these words right on my arm just above my elbow so I can see it and remember to let go and forgive. 

This is my gishwhes pope tattoo with Misha’s autograph It’s actually not done haha, but I havent had the time yet to harass my brother into finishing it. I saw a quote where someone said Misha mentioned feeling bad when he see’s these pope tattoos. I wish I could tell him fucking dont!! I love this tattoo it means the world to me, I love the people on my team who I consider my good friends, and gishwhes and Misha have saved me in a lot of ways too. I was almost a recluse and this got me into the world again. I’ve done things I never thought I could because of this crazy as week long scavenger hunt, and I will never regret this tattoo or the memory of Misha’s and Jared’s reaction to seeing after I got the autograph added. Sometimes what the art is doesnt matter it’s what it means to you. This means friendship, raising up to the challenge, facing fears and joy. 

This last one is actually a part of a pair. If I hold both arms up you can read it across “I would offer you my pulse, I would give you my breath.” It’s from the Ani DiFranco poem/song Pulse.The other arm I had done by some artist in Dallas a year or so before this one was done. This was my brother’s first tattoo. He’s done the other ones you see too and several more on myself and others since then, but this was the first one he did on someone besides practicing on his own leg. That means a lot to me because he’s my baby and I adore him, even if he is a giant freak now lol. In a lot of ways he’s always gonna be that nerdy scrawny kid I just wanted to take care of and look out for growing up. Now those tables have turned and he looks out for me, and I’m so thankful for having him as my brother. Also the lyrics mean a lot to me because that’s how I feel about people I love. It’s tattooed right across the bones because its in my bones. Oh yeah and you can see a peek of my anti-possession tattoo right there on my elbow.
