week 31: the velveteen rabbit

if you don't already know it, the velveteen rabbit is an old kid's book about a little boy's toy rabbit who wants to be real. it's told by an older toy that being loved makes toys real, and eventually becomes the boy's favourite toy. a while later the boy gets scarlet fever and it's decided his entire room needs to be disinfected, which requires burning all his things - including the velveteen rabbit. reminiscing on its life with the boy before being burnt, it cries a real tear which summons a fairy. because the boy loved his toy rabbit enough to consider it real, the fairy wants to make it real to everyone, so takes it into the forest and turns it into a real rabbit. the story ends with the boy, now healthy, seeing rabbits in the forest and noticing that one of them has the same markings as his old favourite toy, which makes him happy.

it's a very sweet book and i loved it a lot as a kid! and... well you can maybe see why i drew the velveteen rabbit with metal :]

Steve took them gratefully. "Thanks. The kids tell me Wham! won't cut it for the car."

Eddie smiled. "Yeah, no." He turned back to his CD rack. "I also have less metal and more punk, but I feel like the kids wouldn't like that. But like, uh, Dead Kennedys and The Queers. Also Sex Pistols, but they're kinda basic. And I know Baby Byers is familiar with The Clash, so..." he laughed awkwardly, realizing he was rambling.

Steve was listening with interest. He would never admit it, but he liked hearing Eddie talk. "I think these three are good," he said finally, holding up the CDs. "Thanks again."

"Yeah no problem," Eddie walked him to the door.

Steve walked down the grass before Eddie called out to him, "A Different Corner! It's a good song!"

Steve turned around, looking confused and Eddie chuckled awkwardly, scratching his head. "Uh, Wham!-?"

Steve nodded in understanding. "I dunno, I'd say pretty basic," he said, copying Eddie's earlier words and he continued to walk back with a smile on his face, leaving Eddie standing by the door of the trailer.

"Bastard," Eddie muttered, closing the door, smiling wide.

Born and bred?: Born in Des Moines although my whole family is from England.

Instrument played?: Turntables.

Band previous to Slipknot?: I have a DJ crew called Soundproof Coalition, who are based out of Des Moines.

First record bought?: The first one I owned was the Miami Vice soundtrack which my parents bought for me.

First band seen live?: I was really young and my parents took me to see Sheena Easton.

Describe yourself in three words: Organic brain syndrome.

What does your mask represent?: To me it's like I'm killing myself on stage. I am constantly at war as the gas mask reminds people at war, so it's like I am constantly dying up there.

Was the visual image your idea?: Yeah, it kinda fell in my lap. I got into the band and was looking for a mask and the gas mask kinda found me. Since then I have been pretty interested in them and If I ever see one I buy it. Right now I have seven or eight of them.

Special Ingredient you bring to the band?: Youth, as I am the youngest member of the band which keeps it fresh.

What is your greatest fear?: Dying young. It is something I think about, as you can die from all kinds of things- I could break my neck at a show, catch a disease or the government could assassinate me.

What is your idea of hell?: I don't believe in it. If there is a hell, planet earth is it.

First job: Working at raves.

Have you ever experimented with auto eroticism?: Yeah, I guess I have. I've wore choke collars, as in the rave scene there have been a lot of experiences which have been pretty crazy.

Tell me your favorite sexual fantasy introducing Salvador Dalí (the late great surrealist painter), an orange, and a bicycle?: I would ride the bicycle for three hours to be completely exhausted, then me and my girlfriend would enter the painting with the melted clocks in it (The Persistence of Memory) and then at the point of orgasm melt like the clocks and eat the oranges for a reward.

Do you enjoy a good wank?: Yeah, every day. When we went on The Howard Stern Show I wanted in show him my cock and I was trying to keep it a decent hanging size, so I was jerking off, and by the time we were on it only lasted a minute so I didn't even get the chance to show it. Fave horror movie?: Evil Dead 2 and Army Of Darkness.

Fave author?: Edgar Allen Poe is the only literature have ever finished reading.

Band you'd like to tour with?: It wouldn't go in with the genre of Skipknot, but me personally, it would be The Beastie Boys. At the point when I got into DJing, break dancing and hip hop The Beastie Boys were a big part of that. I have always listened to them.

Who do you think is the most heavy metal band of all time?: Slipknot.

Worst way to die?: Without my family. By myself.

If your house was burning down. What is the one thing you would run in and save?: If all my family was out, I would have to go and get the hair wrap my girlfriend gave me before we started dating. It is made out of her hair.

If you were the president of the USA for a day and could achieve one thing only. What would it be?: I would make it a free country and expose the government for what it is.

What is your dog called?: Mary Jane Wilson. She's part whippet and part dingo.

I just watched Sonic 3 today and I loved it. Idk much about sonic games and series lore except for characters, but I am excited for the next movie!

Me rambling and a bit spoilers I think? Below!

And yk, idk if there's any name for the Team Sonic, but if they're going for a proper name, I think they should name themselves The Prime. Because the trio are primer colour, so why not?

Oh I just searched it up and their names are Team Heroes. Eh Team Prime Hero sorta cool still.

Everyone cries for Maria and Shadow, while I'm here crying for Stone and Eggman. (J, I actuallycried for Maria and Shadow) Them bro- I love them but Stone you deserve better and some break man!

Talking bout Egg Man, ain't nah he died. He survived the first time in the second movie, he can totally survive the second time. He probably have a ring with him who knows.

Same with Shadow too. If Sonic can survive being hit by a car. Punch by Shadow. And yada yada. So Shadow totally can do it too. Them are probably undestructable who knows? Plus he still have the chaos emerald. Or maybe even better or logical, Shadow probably use his teleportation to teleport himself and probably Egg man too to a safe place. Yeah!

Maybe I should try draw Sonic related things soon. Who knows?
