Here’s a short little soft!bucky fluff Drabble

Bucky needs comfort after finally accepting that steve is gone, after coming home from fighting the flag smashers with Sam.

You woke to the sound of the front door being shut, immediately knowing its Bucky from the sound of his heavy combat boots. You smiled turning over to see Bucky standing still as if he was a thief that had been caught. “Hey there handsome” you greeted, a sleepy smile making its way to your face. “Hey doll” he greeted back, sitting next to your feet, taking his shoes off. “Home for good” you asked, to which he nodded “everyone’s safe” he said, a small smile gracing his lips. But you could see he sadness in his eyes that he failed to hide from you. You frowned sitting up “what’s a matter?” You asked. Bucky let out a small laugh at the fact that he really couldn’t hide from you even when he tried. The smile quickly left his face, replaced by a frown. “Steves really gone” he whispered, voice cracking. You felt tears begin to form in your eyes, “i know” you said moving to sit on his lap facing him, placing your hands on his face, felling the short stubble of his beard. He looked up at you with saddened eyes, like an abused puppy. You wanted nothing more than to protect him from all the worlds evil. “He’d be proud of you, seeing your growth” you said with a soft smile. You knew in these moments Bucky had trouble talking about what he’s feeling, so you stood up from his lap, making your way to your bathroom and turning on the shower to a warm setting that you knew Bucky liked and grabbed a towel from the bathroom closet placing it on the sink. You retuned to the bedroom seeing Bucky sitting in the same spot.

You carefully made your way over to him, he seemed as if he was in a daydream, you knew whatever it was it couldn’t be helping his mood so you softly grabbed his hand, breaking him out of it. You pulled him up from the bed and lead him to the bathroom. “Take a shower, ill make you something to eat for when you get out, and then we can go to bed. Kay?” You asked softly. He nodded pulling you close by your hand and pressed a soft kiss to your forehead “thank you doll” he whispered. You smiled up at him before walking out to make him some food. You didnt make anything extravagant just a pasta you knew he liked. You went back to the bedroom, to the closet and picked out some underwear and sweats, since Bucky prefers not to sleep in a shirt. As you sat the clothes on the bed and went back to the kitchen to make him a plate, because you heard him shut off the water. About two minutes later he walked out of the bedroom. He sat down at the counter and you placed the plate of food in front of him. “Eat, i know you haven’t in a while” you told him. He smiled again laughing at how well you knew him. He ate his food and joined you on the couch, watching tv where you both drifted off to sleep, holding each other.

Random Thoughts: Bucky Barnes

The Metal Arm

Contrary to what most people think Bucky actually loves it when his girl touches his metal arm.

It’s one of his biggest insecurities to be sure, he has a bad relationship with it (as one would imagine) but he enjoys it when his girl enjoys it, and that’s the only time he likes it.

On hot nights when no matter how much he turns up the AC for you, you’re still hot, your period giving you hot flashes that you believe are going to be the death of you, you wrap your entire upper body around the cool metal that never seems to change temperature and you finally drift off to sleep. After a night drinking with the girls, Natasha and Pepper dropping you back off at your shared apartment clearly able to hold much more liquor than you (though Bucky notices how Pepper often ends up leaning against the assassin as well before going home) your entire body is hot and you will always strip completely bare to fix the problem. It often leaves Bucky with his own problem that he needs to take care of as he refuses to touch you when you’ve had more than 3 drinks, but once he does and he crawls into bed your body finds its way around the chilled metal and you pass out clinging to him like a baby gorilla attached to its mother.

It makes Bucky feel useful

Like the metal arm can actually do something good for once

Bucky however, hates touching you with it.

If you don’t instigate the contact then he will never let the vibranium touch your perfect skin. He knows that you insist it’s okay, and that you love it but he doesn’t love it. He knows how much you enjoy the metal fingers wrapped around your throat on those nights that you want him to be particularly rough with you and while he will always give you what you want, it scares him to see something that’s brought so much pain to people wrapped around your delicate, perfect throat.

Slowly but surely you are helping him learn to enjoy the prosthetic in some way, even if it takes a while to get there. You are nothing if not patient and that’s one of the things Bucky loves the most about you, he needs patience from people more than anything as he acclimates to living life in this century as a normal person and you know and respect that completely.

He has learned to like you holding his metal hand as well. That one took the longest, he was always afraid of breaking your fingers if he so much as twitched but you let him know he was over reacting just a bit and took your time helping him get used to it. The feeling that he has in the fake limb (which isn’t as much as a real arm but was at least some kind of sensation) was enough that he enjoyed holding your smaller hand in his own, often bringing it to his lips to kiss your skin and sneakily checking to ensure he had not bruised your soft flesh.

The arm has always been an issue for the super soldier and probably always would be in some form, but he can say you’ve helped him enjoy it at least a little bit. He is now seeing some small perks of it which is helping him live with it just a bit more comfortably and that’s all you could ever ask for. And you’re all Bucky could ever ask for.

Guys GUYS GUESS WHAT

I’m making a winter soldier arm!!!! So far it’s pretty accurate and also ROUGH looking but this is so epic I can’t wait to show u the final project

With Lies of P giving its humanoid version of Pinocchio (better known as "P" in the game) a mantellic arm, it got me to think about other metal armed characters I liked. Edward Elric being the first and Nero was badass in Devil May Cry 5. Although I still haven't got round to watching or reading RWBY, part from its DC crossover film and one of its crossover comics with the DC universe, it felt only right to add Yang Xiao Long in as well. Originally I was only going to fill this collage in with Ed, Nero, Yang and P, until I remembered Ballister Blackheart at the last minuet and had to include him too. That's how LoP Pinocchio ended up in the centre of the collage, well not right in the centre as that would block Nero's metal hand.

The "Metal Arm Squad" felt like the right title for this collage and the group, should people wish to feature these five together in their own fan works.
