Hiya! My name’s Opportunity, but you can call me Oppy. She/her or they/them, living in between dimensions with my friends! (so I could really be in any region) (I’m traveling Hoenn right now though). My friend Quasar got me set up on here, huge thanks! And yes, I am a shapeshifter. I can turn into just about anything. It’s cool!

So a bit about me. Well, I was artificially created as one of many shape-shifting slaves to be sold in stores across the corporate nation of VermilineCorp. The factory I was made at doubled as a place for training us to be the perfect servants, and it was… not nice. I endured years of it. Needless to say that’s not what I wanted for myself, so I escaped through a Door into the Dimensional Nexus. But I got pretty badly hurt while running. Lucky for me my best friend Quasar found me and brought me to this world, where I healed and gained my freedom, for real this time. (I’ve had bad experiences with false hope)

Now that I’m in a world that doesn’t hate me, and I’m free to live as I wish, I’m traveling the world to see all the cute pokemon in it! I love nature and cute things, and this world has lots of those! And since I have a rotomblr of my own now, why not post about the things I see? I’m also exploring the Nexus with my friends sometimes too, so there’ll be posts about that too.

Seems the Variable Free is coming into her own. This will be a delight to observe. And what's this? Visitors? Well then, allow me to introduce myself: Baron Twyst Von Jokewyld at your service. But what's in a name? That's for me to know. Now that our little shapeshifter has gained her freedom she has quite the journey ahead of her, together with the astronaut lost and their company, and I have my role to play in that. I'll also be posting on here, when the fancy strikes me. Ask as much as you want, I'll see what I feel like answering!

Facts about Oppy:

Oppy is part of the Nebula Incursionists (see @nebula-incursionists-official )

Oppy is technically a faller so she still has much to learn about the pokemon world

Oppy is a shapeshifter, but was conditioned to never shapeshift except in certain ways. She’s still working on overcoming that conditioning

Despite how cheerful she may seem Oppy is a sensitive soul. She was frequently abused at the factory she was made at, and so has a number of traumas and other things to live with

On the note above Oppy will not under any circumstances use strong language due to personal reasons (nor will I due to past trauma). She is ok with people swearing around her however, as long as it’s not aimed at her maliciously

A Dark Path Walked Chapter 8: Time

CARMINE

Time has passed since that wretched outsider has ruined my life. She took Kiki away from me. She made that ogre the hero and the Loyal Three the villains. I don’t need her. I don’t need Kiki. We stopped talking ever since we returned to Blueberry Academy from Kitakami. No. I stopped talking to Kiki. He kept calling me, but I ignored him. He just wants to say that this outsider, Juliana, is a friend, but I know what she did.

I protected Kiki from harm, I always kept him safe, and I taught him all he knows, but in the end, he lied to me about the story Grandpa told him, he sided with that ogre and defeated the Loyal Three. He befriended that outsider. All because Grandfather told him to. Kiki… Grandfather… Grandmother… the citizens of Mossui… they were all babying that outsider… that wretched girl.

My head was starting to hurt. Was it something I ate? No. It must be my imagination. I went to my dorm to strategize… My journey for vengeance has begun.

I took some advice from this boy named Florian on how I can become stronger without using Pecharunt, Okidogi, Munkidori and Fezandipiti in battle. They were my bodyguards and they didn’t plan on showing how strong they are. I kept Morpeko and Sinistcha while I kept Mightyena, Ninetales, Swadloon, Mienshao and Basculegion in my room in Blueberry Academy. My Pokémon are the only friends I need. I don’t need any human friends except for Florian… and maybe Amarys.

I caught some new Pokémon. A Hatterene in Kitakami and A Kingdra, a Metagross and a Venasaur at the Terarium. I also took note on how each Elite Trial worked. Gladys, Crispin, Amarys and Lacey were no pushovers. They are strong, but not strong enough. That lazy bozo Drayton is my target. I need to make sure he learns his spot.

My first challenge was Crispin. His trial was very easy, it was to make a super spicy sandwich, as for his team, Kingdra dealt with all of them with ease, it even dispelled Talonflame's Sunny Day with Rain Dance. The only Pokémon Kingdra didn’t knock out was Exeggutor, which Venasaur took care of with its Poison Type moves.

Next off was Gladys. Poor Gladys, she knew she wasn’t ready, but I didn’t care. She came to study just so she can be a perfect little Gym Trainer for her Gym Leader in Galar, but the Terarium doesn’t have enough Grass Types, which is why she is stuck with a Spring Form Sawsbuck, a Vileplume, an Abomasnow, a Meganium, a Venomoth and poor Comfey as her Tera Pokémon. She is the only one I felt pity for since Terastalization is new to her and she is used to Dynamaxing Pokémon. Oh, and her trial was to herd each Deerling by season.

Third was Amarys. Her trial was the Flying Time Trials. I didn’t have any good fliers, so I was stuck with Metagross. I passed the trial on the first try, which is a first for Blueberry Academy. Sinistcha and Kingdra handled her Pokémon, especially her Empoleon and Metagross with ease.

Last, but not least, before I face Drayton, was Lacey. Just like how Gladys is the only Grass type representative to the Pokémon League, Lacey is the only Fairy type representative. But are you serious? A quiz as an Elite Trial? Lacey, you are embarrassing yourself. Not even your team was a match for my Metagross.

Finally, It was time. Time to face that lazy annoying toothpaste-haired bozo. But before I could begin, Kiki ran to me.

“Sis! I heard from Miss Briar that you defeated the BB League Elite Four and are now about to face Drayton for the title of BB League Champion! Congratulations! And good luck!”

His words felt genuine, but I didn’t say anything. I just smiled. I cannot bring myself to hurt Kiki. He is not to blame for what happened.

Drayton’s team was only dragon types… except for Sceptile. Was he inspired by the mega evolution? Nah. It can’t be. Anyway, unlike the Elite Four, he was giving it his all. My only counters to his dragons were Kingdra and Hatterene.

The battle was over. I won. I smiled to myself. I have become the BB League Champion.

“Congratulations, Carmine.” That bozo came to me. “I look forward to working alongside you as the representative of the League Club.”

“This was a good match.” I said. “Too bad about the outcome… Ex-Champion.”

I smiled even more as I erased that annoying smirk from that bozo’s face. Everyone looked at me as I became a monster. How delightful. No one should underestimate me.

“Alright, everyone!” I faced every student. “From today onwards, you will start training every day! No slacking!”

I walked off to my League Club room, so I could make some changes, when Gladys came to me.

“Hello, Carmine.” She said. “I would like to resign as a member of the Elite Four. I understand Crispin should be disqualified, but he deserves his spot while I don’t. I only came to my position due to my connections with Sir Milo.”

I sighed. Gladys was as honest as ever. As I said, there aren’t enough Grass types in the Terarium.

“Very well.” I said. “I accept your resignation. From today onwards, you will just be just an average member of the League Club. Do not let me down and continue your training.”

“Thank you, Carmine.” Gladys bowed. “I’ll do all I can.”

With that, she left. I scowled. I was planning to eliminate Lacey because she wasn’t taking her training very seriously, but according to the Club Rules, Crispin should be eliminated, but they both have been spared by Gladys’ resignation as an Elite Four Member.

I’ve isolated myself from everyone, including Kiki. I stopped talking to everyone. I only show myself to see if these students are doing their training or not. I would scold them at times if they weren’t training.

Pecharunt flew to me. It chirped, knowing I would be lonely. I embraced it.

“You won’t leave me alone, will you Pecharunt?” I whispered sweetly. “The same goes to Okidogi, Munkidori and Fezandipiti, right?”

“Pecha-Pecharun!” Pecharunt chirped.

I smiled. I was relieved that my Pokémon were more Loyal than these fools.

KIERAN

Time has passed since I returned to Blueberry Academy from Kitakami. However, Sis stopped talking to me when we returned. I try to say literally anything, but she just ignores me. What did I do wrong? Why are you ignoring me, sis?

The situation got worse as I had nightmares and I never slept well for three nights in a row. Lacey and Gladys were the first to notice. I was classmates with Gladys, and Crispin, and Lacey took me in as her mentee for Pokémon related topics since Sis wasn’t talking to me. I’m glad they’re taking care of me

“Hey, Kieran?” Lacey went to me. “Are you ok? You don’t look so good.”

“Lacey… Gladys…” I couldn’t hold back my tears. “I’m so sorry! I’m such a burden to the both of you!”

“Don’t say such a thing!” Lacey crossed her hands to an X. “We’re Club Members! We’re always here for you!”

“And as your classmate, I have the right to worry about you.” Gladys patted me on my left shoulder.

I dried the tears off my eyes as I heard Lacey and Gladys’ words of comfort.

“Lacey… Gladys… thank you.” I sobbed a little.

“I’m always happy to help.” Lacey smiled.

“I suggest you go traveling.” Gladys said. “Maybe this will ease your mind. I recommend going to my home region of Galar.”

I took Gladys’ advice and decided to go traveling. Before I went to pack my stuff, I took a small visit to Sis’ dorm.

“Hey, sis…” I said. “I’ll be traveling around regions. I’ll be leaving tomorrow.”

As usual, I got no response. She would give me a smile, but I still got no word from her. I miss hearing her voice.

For the first three days, I visited many regions with Miss Briar since she was still investigating the “Great Crater of Paldea” I have been hearing from her ever since Juliana and I ran into her at the Crystal Pool.

I forgot to mention. I still write letters to Juliana since I don’t own a Rotom Phone of my own. I sometimes felt like taking Sis’ Rotom Phone since she barely uses it anymore aside from looking at certain Pokémon’s moves.

As I came back, I heard that Sis was fighting her way through the League Club. It made me so happy that I decided to go to her to congratulate her.

“Sis! I heard from Miss Briar that you defeated the BB League Elite Four and are now about to face Drayton for the title of BB League Champion! Congratulations! And good luck!”

But she just smiled at me and went to the battle cout at the entrance of the Academy. I was hoping we would go back on speaking terms, but it was wishful thinking.

I watched in glee as Sis and Drayton fought each other. I always loved Pokémon battles, be it watching them or participating in them. That love for battles and Pokémon got me to enroll in Blueberry Academy. I had even caught myself some Pokémon in both Blueberry Academy and Across the world.

I was so distracted, I had not noticed that Sis defeated Drayton. “Congratulations, Carmine.” Drayton went to shake Sis’ hand. “I look forward to working alongside you as the representative of the League Club.” Sis smiled to herself as she spoke the words that changed the entirety of Blueberry Academy completely. “This was a good match. Too bad about the outcome… Ex-Champion.”

Everything became silent. The cheers had dried off as if terror was spreading throughout the court. No one could believe what she said. Even Drayton’s smile disappeared as Sis spoke these words to add insult to injury.

She then turned to every student.

“Alright, everyone! From today onwards, you will start training every day! No slacking!”

As I looked at Sis’ eyes, her pupils were purple and she had a toxic expression in her. I then ran away to my room, unable to hear Lacey and Gladys’ calls. I then lay down on my bed as I screamed and cried. My sister had completely changed and my school was starting to change.

My cries were interrupted by a knock on the door. I dried my tears and drank some water (I did cry a lot) before I went to my door and opened it. I was expecting either Lacey or Gladys since they worry about me, or Miss Briar since she’s a teacher, but I was not expecting Cyrano, the Academy’s DIRECTOR to be standing at my doorstep.

“D-Director Cyrano?!” I couldn’t hide my surprise.

“Hello, young Kieran.” The director smiled at me. “Would ya mind coming to Paldea’s Academy with me? I have a very special surprise for yer.”

“Um… of course!” I nodded. “I’ll get ready.”

Wowzers. I was going to Paldea. I cannot believe it. And the Director had a surprise for me? I could not hold my excitement. It felt like I had my emotions played with today.

JULIANA

Time has passed ever since I returned to Paldea from Kitakami. I had a busy schedule for the past few days. I completed the Pokédex for Kitakami, I fought a lot of Tera Raids for Professor Jacq’s research, I helped my mom with housework when I didn’t have class, I trained with Nemona so I could keep up my champion status, I explored the Treasures of Paldea with Arven and I surveyed the Team Star camps with Penny to make sure the Team Star Bosses are keeping up with the STCs started by Director Clavell.

Speaking of Director Clavell, my Rotom Phone rang and he had called me for something. I was in Kitakami and it was raining, so I put my Rotom Phone under my umbrella.

“Hello, is this Miss Juliana’s Phone number?” Director Clavell asked.

“Yes, Director.” I answered. “This is Juliana. Did you need something?” “Thank goodness. I thought I caught the wrong number.” Director Clavell sighed before clearing his throat. “Anyway… Miss Julinana, it seems that you have been chosen for our Exchange Program for one of our partner Academies, Blueberry Academy of Unova. Would you mind meeting me and two of our guests at my office at Naranja Academy? I’d be more than pleased.”

As the Director hung up the call, my jaw dropped. I could not believe that I was chosen for the Exchange Program three months into my studies at Naranja Academy. I regained my calm and went to Kitakami Road, where I would take my flight back home.

Indigo Disk E4 (plus Champion), their Trials and Party Members

I was hoping to help people as I didn't have any real help during the DLC, so I wrote a rough list of each of the Indigo Disk's Elite Four and their teams, trials and whatever moves I was made aware of during my battle with them. So here it is below. Be warned, this is unbelievably long as I also make notes at certain points for tips and help

Chrispin, the fourth and lowest member of the Elite Four:

Trial before battle; make a super spicy sandwich (as written by game08 below)

Onion Chili Sauce Jalapeno Chorizo Mustard

After the trial and onto the battle under here;

Party Members: Talonflame (uses sunny day, perfect for WW and Hydro Steam and also uses Brave Bird too, so no Ogerpon during the beginning), Fire-type Rotom, Exeggutor, Camerupt, Magmortar, Blaziken (Teras into a fire type, speed boost, focus blast and a real ass tbh)

Best Pokemon here would be, at least from my experience, Walking Wake (if you have it, that is, I don't know of any good replacement for WW if you don't have him. Maybe Azumarill?) and Garchomp (Ground Tera type and Adamant nature: Bulldoze (or Earthquake), Sword Dance, Rock Tomb, and Dragon Claw) alongside maybe Water type (Wellspring mask) Ogrepon.

AN: I say maybe Earthquake as it will also hurt your second party member you throw out unless they're a flying type, so that's why I mentioned Bulldoze instead as a less strong alternative making sure you do accidentally KO your own Pokemon in the process.

Drayton, the dragon-type elite four is the second rank under Kieran.

Trial: Use no Pokemon that weren't from the Terariaum or weren't caught from you (like Pokemon from other games for example) and fight three people. From my experience, have a Duraludon and an Abomasnow. Both are at level 80-86-ish for being able to beat this easily.

AN: Abomnasnow (Lax nature with Ice Punch, Blizzard and Sheer cold) should hold Leftovers and use Ingrain every time you enter a battle to slowly regain health and then take it from there whilst the Duraludon I used has a Quiet Nature and has: Dragon Claw, Flash Cannon, Metal Busrt and Breaking Swipe. I hope this has helped a little, and if the Pokemon you catch don't have those above natures you could either use a mint or just hope it doesn't play any part in the battle :p

Party members: Dragonite, Flygon, Kingdra, Haxorus (focus sash, earthquake), Sceptile, Archaludon (dragon-tera type)

AN: Zacian is perfect for most, if not all of these people with small bits of tinkering, obviously. But Zacian is literally unstoppable.

Amaryas: the steel type elite four (she is fucking weiiierdd…. like real weird.)

Her trial: Fly through rings on your mount around the terrarium and there are Magnemite ones that add more time to your counter. Get to the goal in time and you succeed.

Her party members; Skarmory (rocky helmet, stealth rock), Alolan Digglett (focus sash and earthquake), Scizor (bullet punch), Runiclus (leftovers, protect), Empoleon, Metagross (steel tera type, headbutt, hard press)

(AN: Be very careful when going against her Metagross, it knows Hard Press, a move that could more than definitely OHKO and likely could since it does the most damage with full health. And if you aren't fortunate and or weak to it? She'll likely sweep you clean. I used my Zacian (Adamant Nature, Crowned: Sword Dance, Sacred Sword, Behemoth Blade and Crunch) and my Slither Wing against her (Adamant nature: Superpower, Leech Life, Low Sweep and Bulk Up) for the most part before having to eventually bring out Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon to take over due to Cranberry fainting who helped ease through Metagross and Runiclus while Zacian handles Empoleon and some of the others.)

Lacey, the fairy type elite four, and the third strongest:

Her trial: A Pokemon quiz!

What part of the body does Pikachu store electricity in? Answer: cheeks. Pikachu stores the electricity in their cheeks.

What part does Venonat's body act as a radar? Answer: The eyes. Its eyes are like radars!

Which Sinistea is an antique and not a phony? Answer: the middle one, the middle has a mark of authenticity on the bottom when it spins around.

Which minior is the pink one? Answer: the one on the middle-ish bottom right-hand side of the screen.

Which part of Granbull does Lacey use as a pillow? Answer: the tummy/stomach area.

Team/party members: Granbull, Whimsicott (focus sash, light screen), Slowbro (quick draw, tailwind, flamethrower, sitrus berry), Primarina, Alcremie (alluring voice, leftovers) Excadrill (fairy tera type, high horsepower)

(long AN: Again Zacian comes in helpful here, while i'd also recommend also having a Tinkaton with you to help try and sweep her, while trying to take as little damage as possible. (Tinkaton, Naive nature with Steel Tera type: Gigaton hammer, Metal claw, Draining kiss and Sword dance) whilst Zacian has an Adamant nature like earlier with fairy type: Behemoth blade, sword dance, metal claw and play rough in case. She does use her Excadrill as mentioned before and I recommend having something that can be strong against fairy but not faint to ground as I was lucky enough to have high friendship with both and they dodged it and was able to KO the ground type. Or you could give Tinkaton a Focus sash in case it does hit and be left with one HP while Zacian still holds the Rusted sword

Champion Kieran:

His team: Dragonite, Politoed, Incineroar, Grimmsnarl holds a Focus Sash, Porygon-z, Hydrapple (Teras his Hydrapple to become a fighting type; an Iron Valiant or Zacian does wonders with his team is used right)

AN: I literally had no business beating his ass with two Fairy types but succeed. Iron Valiant (Adamant Nature, Fairy Tera type: Moonblast, Sword Dance, Spirit Break and Drain Punch) with my Zacian now mainly running Fairy and fighting over steel instead. (Adamant nature, Fairy tera type: Sword dance, Sacred sword, and Play Rough with Poison Jab)

And unfortunately, your Pokemon don't get ribbons or anything of the sort from winning so a major bummer, but whatever I guess. Plus, Kieran has no right to walk about with Pokemon who literally get for the most part OHKO'd, seriously. It makes you wonder what the others who fought him were using to get him to such a high ground or grandeur to think he was unstoppable.

Ultra Ball, Apricorn, Pokédex?

Ultra Ball: Favorite Pseudo-legendary(ies)

I’d have to go for the Hydreigon line! I saw a Deino as a kid, and IMMEDIATELY fell in love. Wasted my master ball on it and everything. It’s pre evo stages are adorable as fuck, and Hydreigon’s animations itself when you’re interacting with it as a trainer… come on it’s a little goofy!

But even past the goofiness, the fact that it’s so badass? Sure it’s dangerous but. It’s cool! Also its part dark so. That’s automatic bias in my favour.

As a side note: I do really like Salamence & Metagross - they’re probably my second faves? Just everything Metagross has going on for it, and how Salamence kinda develops into itself after wishing a lot! And they both look cool!

Apricorn: Favorite Fossil Pokémon

ARCHEOPS!!! Bird bird bird bird-

Okay but seriously, the fact that it’s visually so different from the other fossil Pokémon IMMEDIATELY draws my eye to it! Plus the fact it’s based on the relationship between birds and dinosaurs?? How is that NOT cool!

I. Didn’t actually pick Archen as a kid though. I thought the Cover fossil sounded cooler? I was sorely disappointed however, but I’d already had saved my game after obtaining the fossil so. Not much I could do.

Okay and sure, Defeatist is an AWFUL ability but like. I get it little buddy. I get it. You just try your best out there for me.

Pokédex: Your perfect/favorite team

I had to think hard on this one, but it would probably be Weavile, Bisharp, Hisuian Decidueye, Hisuian Zoroark, Ceruledge & Tinkaton!

Weavile’s been an old but consistent fave of mine for a while now! I actually have Sneasel + Weavile fanart in my room - my sister’s friend drew it for me when I was younger!

Deciduye & Zoroark are also faves of mine - I think Zoroark was my first favourite Pokémon? And the Hisuian variants’ design and lore did not disappoint!

(also because my Hisuian Decidueye is a monster. Tansy I love you but when I named you after a flower that means declaration of war I did not expect to see you solo’ing, if not outright OHKO’ing, the forces of nature, as well as taking a Flying type Judgement from Arceus - a move that is 4x effective - for only half health)

Bisharp, Ceruledge & Tinkaton are all pretty much the same reasoning to me - I just really like Pokémon with weapons! Sure I can see why some people don’t but. These little monsters are armed - how is that not both equal parts funny and cool?

13 & 24?

13: Favorite Poke-Prof

Oh boy, I’m noticing a trend of being not very good at picking just *one* favorite of something.  Professor Oak is the OG pokemon professor, plus he’s a well-renowned trainer and rival of Agatha of the Elite Four (so he’s really badass), plus he’s related to the one and only MFing Gary Oak...  But then there’s Professor Birch who I really like in that he’s goofy, energetic, and not afraid to get out in the field and get his hands dirty (or his behind nipped at by a Poochyena).  I also read a great fic that characterized him and his wife beyond what we know in the games, so that has flavored my preference of his character...

But I’d have to say my favorite pokemon professor has to be Kukui.  (And no it’s not because he hates shirts).  It’s because he’s so *involved* in the story in Sun and Moon.  Not just giving you your starter, not just congratulating you on your pokedex progress.  He’s actively involved in changing the Alola region.  He’s out there lobbying for a League, he’s even the stand-in for the Champion when you get to the brand-new League’s summit, and he’s no slouch either!  But then he’s also got this crazy side hobby of parading about as the Masked Royal, participating in battles and winning fans (including his wife lol).  He’s just a really fun character that is intertwined with your pokemon journey from start to finish.

24: Thoughts on Mega Evolution

So.

*deep breath*

Buckle up, anon, this one is going to be a ride.

At first, I wasn’t the biggest fan of Megas.  Sure they looked cool, and they emphasized the bond between trainer and pokemon.  But the mechanic felt shoe-horned and totally disrupted any semblance of an actual timeline between the games, and then I realized:  Mega Evolution should never have been introduced in Hoenn in the first place.  It belonged in Sinnoh.

In D/P, Rowan is away researching pokemon evolution in another region.  (Kalos anyone?)  He returns, and Team Galactic is after his research b/c it will help them achieve their goal of capturing/controlling Dialga and Palkia.  Now, Mega Evolution is shown to release vast amounts of energy, perfect for a power-hungry evil team.  

Mega Evolution also induces a form change in a pokemon.  What else has two forms already?  Giratina.  Introducing Mega Dialga and Mega Palkia would give these two a second form, and also tie in with Team Galactic’s meddling with Rowan’s evolution research.

But, you’re saying, Mega Evolution is tied in with stones that both trainer and pokemon use, and those seem awfully rare to come by.  Well, beneath Sinnoh is a veritable treasure trove of stones hidden away in the Underground.  If you were able to mine your own key stone and mega stones in the Underground, that would have been incredible and a worthwhile and *rewarding* quest to make the Underground into something so much more.  

Now, this radically alters the storyline for ORAS, BUT (but I say!) what if ORAS also had some kind of special pokemon form related to its plot and characters.  This is where I think Primal Reversion should have been its own mechanic separate from Mega Evolution.  Kyogre and Groudon can use Primal Reversion to achieve their ancient forms, but so too can *other* pokemon, namely fossils.  What company native to Hoenn is highly invested in resurrecting fossil pokemon?  Devon.  If they are able to harness Primal Reversion we could get non-Rock type forms of fossil pokemon, their native typings and original forms.  Other pokemon could be discovered to be able to revert to primal versions of themselves.  And because this is independent of Megas, they could *also* exist in Hoenn as a timeline continuity.  So Steven still has Mega Metagross, but he also could have Primal Cradily and Armaldo on his Championship team.

Okay so that wasn’t the short version, but the TL;DR of it is I do like Megas, but I think they could have been implemented in a way that made much more sense with Pokemon’s game canon story and timelines.

I can't recall if you've done it before, but what do you think your boy 707's Pokemon team would be?

Hmmm, let’s see . . .

Umbreon --- Saeyoung’s first ever pokémon, evolved from an eevee. Eevee evolves into umbreon as a result of high friendship at night. Saeyoung loves animals (cats mostly, but others as well), and let’s be honest: We can be reasonably certain that he would shower his pokémon with love. Given that Saeyoung has an erratic sleep schedule, as well as the fact that he repeatedly asserts that he’s an agent of the night (he has several status updates about this, at one point makes his cover photo a night sky, talks about defending justice in the dead of night, goes out for late night drives, and so on and so forth), we can also be reasonably certain that he would train at night, which would lead to a late night evolution into umbreon. Lastly, just look at umbreon’s fur: it’s black with yellow rings. That’s the design of Saeyoung’s hoodie! They match! So yes, he would certainly have an umbreon as his starter. No doubt his umbreon would offer him comfort in the late nights.

(Mega) Metagross --- Did you know that metagross have four brains and that their intelligence surpasses that of a supercomputer? It’s true. It’s so true, in fact, that it’s stated over and over again across multiple pokédex entries. Additionally, not only is metagross somewhat based on a robot (it’s made of steel and metal, has intelligence that surpasses a supercomputer), but it’s also based on a UFO or a lander (which is a type of spacecraft). All of these things make metagross a pokémon that fits Saeyoung. Saeyoung is a literal, canonical genius, so it makes sense that he would have a pokémon that, similarly, has intelligence that can out-calculate a super computer. And given that he loves both robots and space, it also makes sense that he would have a pokémon that resembles both of those things. As far as mega evolution is concerned, mega evolution requires a deep bond, as well as for the trainer and pokémon to be in sync. I think that Saeyoung could achieve both of these things with a metagross. (And on that note, god help their opponents.)

Porygon2 --- Porygon2 was designed as an upgrade to the original porygon, and was specifically upgraded to be able to travel in space . . . a feat which it has not yet achieved due to the fact that it cannot fly. Nonetheless, porygon2 has artificial intelligence, and while it might not be the most updated version out there (that would be porygon-z), it’s also not a mess of glitches and faulty programming. Besides, Saeyoung likes his porygon2 just the way it is. It doesn’t matter to him that porygon2 can’t fly to space yet, because he can’t, either. But they can still both dream, though, which they do. It’s a definite dream.

Minior --- Minior is, quite literally, a sentient meteor born from nanoparticles in outer space. How perfect is that? I think that Saeyoung would adore minior the moment he laid eyes on it. Additionally, while minior can be a little tricky to train and utilize properly, it can absolutely be a devastating late battle sweeper, and I think that Saeyoung would have the skill to be able to utilize minior’s talents to the fullest.

Wobbuffet --- Wobbuffet would be the member of Saeyoung’s team that he uses to troll others. No one would ever takes wobbuffet seriously. I mean, it’s a wobbuffet. It can’t even attack unless someone else attacks it first. And that’s how Saeyoung gets people; he waits for them to attack, and then ruins their lives with Mirror Coat or Counter. The best part is they can’t even leave once they engage in this fight, because wobbuffet has the Shadow Tag ability. So yeah, I could definitely see him with a wobbuffet, laughing as his single wobbuffet destroys entire teams without ever lifting a finger.

Rotom --- I can’t say that I see rotom actually being on Saeyoung’s team in terms of battling, but I could see him with a rotom in his house. He found it one day when it possessed one of his baby cars, and though he was (for obvious reasons) not impressed with the fact that it possessed one of his cars, he also knew that it wasn’t like he could force the rotom to vacate the vehicle without hurting said car. So what he did instead was he whipped up a robot body for it (without programming in any A.I., of course) and when the rotom saw that, it was so delighted that it abandoned the car and hopped right into the body Saeyoung made for it instead. So it might not be an official member of Saeyoung’s team, but it lives in Saeyoung’s house, and Saeyoung upgrades or builds it a new body whenever it gets bored. (And perhaps sometimes it also helps him out by, you know . . . dipping into computers, particularly those belonging to enemies, and causing a little mischief. ;D)

So maybe that could be his team of six, even though, as I said, I see the rotom more just living at his house. Really, I’m only absolutely positive about the first two, which are non-negotiable, but I feel like the other four are pretty fitting as well (particularly the rotom living in his house, like . . . I’m sure Vanderwood would hate it, but Saeyoung would have fun making new robot bodies for it every now and then). Maybe I’ll make up a trainer card for him at some point.

Honestly? I’m very happy with how things have gone so far and I greatly appreciate everyone who has taken an interest in this blog ^^ But to truly show my appreciation, I’m giving away some top-notch Pokemon from my personal collection!

Below you’ll find the rules and additional details!

How this works

This giveaway will have a total of 6 winners (chosen via random), and I wil! What will happen is that once the 6 people are chosen, each person will be choose a total of 5 Pokemon (one from each row). One the first person chooses their Pokemon the next winner will choose one of the remaining Pokemon from each row, etc. Essentially it will keep going down to the last person who will receive the remaining 5 Pokemon who haven’t been chosen!

Example: Winner one chooses Bisharp from Row 1, Celesteela from Row 2, Toxapex from Row 3, Lucario from Row 4, and Charizard from Row 5. These Pokemon will then be traded and I will then go to the second person.

Also: Once the winners are chosen I will then contact the first person on the list, I will be giving them 48 hours to respond and work out times on when the trade can happen. Once the trade is finished I will cross out the chosen Pokemon listed at the bottom of the post for people to know what’s been picked and then move on to the next person.
