Hiya! My name’s Opportunity, but you can call me Oppy. She/her or they/them, living in between dimensions with my friends! (so I could really be in any region) (I’m traveling Hoenn right now though). My friend Quasar got me set up on here, huge thanks! And yes, I am a shapeshifter. I can turn into just about anything. It’s cool!

So a bit about me. Well, I was artificially created as one of many shape-shifting slaves to be sold in stores across the corporate nation of VermilineCorp. The factory I was made at doubled as a place for training us to be the perfect servants, and it was… not nice. I endured years of it. Needless to say that’s not what I wanted for myself, so I escaped through a Door into the Dimensional Nexus. But I got pretty badly hurt while running. Lucky for me my best friend Quasar found me and brought me to this world, where I healed and gained my freedom, for real this time. (I’ve had bad experiences with false hope)

Now that I’m in a world that doesn’t hate me, and I’m free to live as I wish, I’m traveling the world to see all the cute pokemon in it! I love nature and cute things, and this world has lots of those! And since I have a rotomblr of my own now, why not post about the things I see? I’m also exploring the Nexus with my friends sometimes too, so there’ll be posts about that too. 

My Pokemon (so far):

Vinebud, a beautiful Serperior

Genesis, a Red Gyrados who loves flying

Celsius, a strong, stoic Cryogonal

Jutsu, an energetic Ninjask

Echo, a laid-back Shedinja

Candela, a Shiny Chandelure from a place called Wonderland, who seems to love books

Powerfist, a Metagross with an excellent sense of direction

Strelka, a unique pokemon called a Silvally

Alto Missile, a Skitty

Seems the Variable Free is coming into her own. This will be a delight to observe. And what's this? Visitors? Well then, allow me to introduce myself: Baron Twyst Von Jokewyld at your service. But what's in a name? That's for me to know. Now that our little shapeshifter has gained her freedom she has quite the journey ahead of her, together with the astronaut lost and their company, and I have my role to play in that. I'll also be posting on here, when the fancy strikes me. Ask as much as you want, I'll see what I feel like answering!

Facts about Oppy:

Oppy is part of the Nebula Incursionists (see @nebula-incursionists-official )

Oppy is technically a faller so she still has much to learn about the pokemon world

Oppy is a shapeshifter, but was conditioned to never shapeshift except in certain ways. She’s still working on overcoming that conditioning

Despite how cheerful she may seem Oppy is a sensitive soul. She was frequently abused at the factory she was made at, and so has a number of traumas and other things to live with

On the note above Oppy will not under any circumstances use strong language due to personal reasons (nor will I due to past trauma). She is ok with people swearing around her however, as long as it’s not aimed at her maliciously

Under the Baron's direction, the Incursionists had formed the bottom of the mind control facility into a sort of base. Apparently the Narrator couldn't see them down here, or had no power to act on it. The first order of business was contacting Virus outside. The Tron Projector had been moved to Incursionist Alley, and communications were somehow more stable down here

Oppy paced urgently between the teleport pad into the Alley and the big metal door that opened into the Nexus, finally relieved when she heard others teleport in. Shallahi ran over to Oppy as soon as she teleported over. Viper pops in, finally getting the chance to use that pin Quasar gave her. She looks a little disoriented after the teleport

Quasar sent me his pokemon. They've led me to him before. I'm hoping that Tingles or Tlaloc will know how to find him

Oppy opens the Door into the Nexus and lets Tingles out. THe Parasect immediately scampers off into the Nexus. The others follow. Tingles leads them fathr in the Nexus than even Quasar had ever gone (until now), until eventually arriving at a Room that looks like an abandoned resturant. somehow Gamzee had disappeared. Who knows where he's gone off to

Spinning out of the Shackles, Part 2

After Strelka landed, just outside the Pokemon Center, Oppy wasn't reacting much, just shaking, and crying

Oppy: ...it's not fair…

Shallahi was comforting her, doing its best to calm both Oppy and faerself after that fight.

Shallahi: “It… rarely is. But we’ll-we’ll send them running next time. I swear it.”

by now the tears are on full force and Oppy's buried in Shallahi's shoulder

Oppy: This world was supposed to be my safe place! Somewhere I could live free without being scared about them! They're not allowed here! ...or at least, that's what I thought…

Shallahi: “I…Well. I… have my own… reminders of the past. When I heard that they were here… That he was here… … You saw how paranoid I was. I caught myself because of them. … Basically… I… … …Always watching to see if they were on my tail. Always moving. Always worrying. No rest. No peace. No safety. …I-I don’t want to see that happen to you. So… we’re going to find a way to cut off their ability to hop to this world.”

Oppy hugs her tighter. Clearly she wants to believe her, but... it's not easy…

Shallahi responds by tightening her own embrace, purring softly all the while.

Shallahi: “We will find a way.”

Ever Grande Crisis

Upon arriving at the the north of Ever Grande City, one can easily tell something is amiss. The path leading to the Hoenn Pokemon League, as well as the entrance to building itself, is flanked by white-armored VermilineCorp Guards, and a few armed robots, also with the VermilineCorp logo on them.

They look on guard, but not on high alert... yet

Gym Badge 8:

A bruised and battered Oppy walked up to Juan’s platform in the Sootopolis gym

You need… to have… softer floors

“Ah! I am so very sorry! Usually the snow is thick enough to cushion a fall without injury, but we’ve had a few malfunctions. I deeply apologize. I’ll be fixing the machines right after we finish here. I don’t want your journey to have been in vain after all”

Oh right! Here I come!

Oppy’s fatigue vanishes in an instant as she readies her team, and the battle began

Juan sent out Luvdisc, and Oppy sent out Genesis. Genesis opened with Thunderbolt, fainting the Luvdisc. Juan then sent out Whiscash, and Oppy tried to Thunderbolt again, but the ground-type Whiscash was not affected

Dangit- Sorry Genesis! My bad! Switching out! Vinebud you’re up!

Vinebud easily withstood an Earthquake to fire off a Leaf Blade, downing the Whiscash. Juan then sent out Sealeo, who opened with an Aurora Beam, injuring Vinebud to yellow

EEP! Powerfist you take this one!

The Metagross being brought in allowed the Sealeo to hit with Water Pulse, but Powerfist was not deterred, connecting with Dynamic Punch and fainting the Sealeo. Juan’s Crawdaunt was next, and Oppy switched out for Jutsu. Crawdaunt hit with Crabhammer as Jutsu retorted with Bug Buzz. For 3 rounds it was this, save Crawdaunt switching to Water Pulse on the last one before Oppy’s 3rd Bug Buzz fainted Crawdaunt.

“Very good, very good! You are a strong trainer indeed! But do not let the past’s success blind you to the wave that pushes you from the future’s ultimate triumph!”

Huh?

“This battle is not over yet”

Juan sent out his Kingdra, who opened with an Ice Beam that brought Vinebud, who Oppy had switched to, to just barely hanging on

Oh no! Not good! Think Oppy think… I’ve got it! It’s time to go all out! Now or never! Vinebud use Scale Shot!

Vinebud shed her protective scales, using them for ammo in the move to strike Kingdra, bringing Kingdra down to Vinebud’s level. The next hit from either would decide the match, but Vinebud was faster now thanks to the Scale Shot, and connected with a Dragon Pulse just in the nick of time. Victory was Oppy’s.

I won… I WON!!!!!

“Ahahaha, excellent! Very well, you are the winner. From you, I sense the brilliant shine of skill that will overcome all. In reward of your prowess, I gift you… My outfit! That you may look stylish and elegant wherever you tread!”

....................................what?

“Hahaha, I merely jest! Rather than my clothes, I shall reward you with this, the Rain Badge.”

Oppy puts the Rain Badge in her gym badge case, filling in the final empty spot

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7… 8!!! I HAVE ALL 8!!!!!

“Indeed you do. With these badges, take your journey to the easternmost reaches of Hoenn. There you will find Ever Grande Town, and the Pokemon League. That is every trainer’s ambition. Go there, and show Hoenn the strength of your friendship with pokemon!”

Gym Badge 7:

A challenger arrived in the Mossdeep gym’s final room, only to be very surprised when she saw not one, but two gym leaders - Tate and Lisa

There’s two of you?!

“Hehe surprised to see us?”

“We’re twins!”

Ok ok, I can still do this… I think

“Then let’s get started!”

The twins opened with their Claydol and Xatu while Oppy sent out Echo and Candela. The fastest among them, Echo, went first, immediately starting with Phantom Force. The Xatu then tried to hit Echo with Confuse Ray, but missed. Candela struck at the Claydol with Shadow Ball, causing damage, but not quite a faint. Claydol slapped back with Earthquake, which hit strongly and fainted Candela. Jutsu then struck with Phantom Force, taking down Xatu, only for Tate’s Solrock to take him out with Flamethrower. Oppy then sent out Strelka and Vinebud, who attacked with Leaf Blade and Icy Wind respectively. The Icy Wind took out Claydol, but Solrock avoided the Leaf Blade and responded with a Flamethrower as Lisa sent out her Lunatone. Vinebud endured, but fainted from damage from the burn it gave her

We’re not out yet guys! Remember what we learned!

Oppy sent out Jutsu, who tried to use X Scissor on the Lunatone but the Solrock was too quick and used Flamethrower to faint him. In more of a bind, Oppy sent out Powerfist, her last Pokemon (aside from Strelka). The Lunatone put up a Light Screen, which made things harder

We’re never gonna take out that Solrock… unless…

Oppy got an idea and changed her tactics to match. She had Strelka use U Turn and Powerfist use Dynamic Punch, both targeting the Solrock. Powerfist resisted another Flamethrower, just barely, to land the powerful hit. Under the combined attack, the Solrock finally fainted. After that, all it took was hitting the Lunatone (which, to its credit, nearly took out Strelka with a Calm Mind’ed Psychic) with Powerfist’s Meteor Mash and the fight was over.

Phew…

Powerfist then started to lower. His claws touched the ground and he began to glow. Oppy could see him start to split into two Metang, similar to the first time when he was a Beldum. The two Metang then fused together, and the resulting Metagross turned to face Oppy

WOW! POWERFIST! YOU EVOLVED AGAIN!

“Nice going!”

“Your bond was stronger than ours, it seems”

“In recognition of your bond”

“We grant you the Mind Badge!”

So... I'm not sure how it happened, but Candela evolved!
