I found out about such an amazing fandom as Messiah. I love all the characters and their actors in the theatrical production so much.

just rewatched messiah dou no shou with twin cus he wasn't sure he'd seen it (he hadn't, but he recognised messiah a lil bit through me talking about it years ago) and i love it so much. he said he'd watch more with me!

i wanted to watch them chronologically but apparently i don't have shikkoku no shou even though i thought i did? my computer just. swallowed it. the cloud was a fucking mistake.

and it seems like i also don't have genya no toki. so i still need to find shikkoku, hagane, shinku and genya.

also hopefully better uploads for most of the stuff cus bb won't let me download from playlists and for some reason the play crashed three times while casting it to my tv, so something is up with the files i downloaded from bb.

onwards i go on my hunt for files lmao (if i don't find shikkoku before we decide to watch more we'll watch hakugin<3)

Part 1

TAISHI I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WHAT YOU WRITE BUT MAN IT’S LONG

Although it is late, Messiah Yuukyuu no Toki, all performances have ended successfully.

Thank you very much for your much support.

With my thoughts and feelings jumbled I don't know what to write, I would like to slowly look back and piece everything together.

In an interview, "Messiah is a measure of my growth." I had answered that.

The first time I was involved in this series, it was the movie Shinku no Shou.

That time, I met Izawa Yuuki for the first time.

Yuuki who is strong willed even at that time, I did not think we are of the same age.

For the first film shooting in my life, due to anxiety and nervousness, I remember how my legs were trembling on the first cut.

The filming was coincidentally during Musical 『Tennis no Oujisama Nationals Rikkai』Tokyo performance.

I had intended to read the script the best I can, memorize my lines and face the shooting.

Even so, feeling that I am merely floating amidst the seniors' acting, "Isn't my acting weird?", I went to Tomoru-kun and asked for an advice,

The seniors are very kind. "You're doing fine, just stick to your own plan." I received many of such encouragements.

I was really encouraged.

Coming up with a fever during shooting, I was causing much trouble to both sides...

The casts, staff and everyone were really kind... But instead those kindness hurt, it was really frustrating.

Although the order of release is the opposite, next is 『Messiah Hagane no Shou』

Before this, I had gone to watch Matsuda Ryo who played Kaidou Eiri, Ono Kento who played Mitsumi Haku in their graduation stage『Messiah Hisui no Shou』

I was quickly absorbed into Messiah world view through the seniors' actings, and before I knew it I shed a tear.

After watching it, with that stage ringing in mind, I could not surpress my excitement for being able to stand on the same stage.

I remember being very nervous having to face『Hagane no Shou 』

Even so, "Just give it a try", I went to the practice with that resolution in mind.

Yuuki who is going to become my Messiah, standing there all full to himself.

I wonder if Yuuki was also desperate, but to me it was such a faraway presence.

It was frustrating, but I have no choice.

The order from the director Nishimori-san is also on a level that have never been demanded before.

Unable to understand the conversation, "What is this guy saying", I became angry.

At the same time, I was angry with my inability to answer.

Thinking about it now, certainly it was not a huge demand.

But I did not understand at that time.

Desperately thinking, "I'll lose if I'm scared", I told myself, and continue to challenge my limits.

In『Hagane no Shou 』, I had many scenes with Oosumi Kenya.

He continued to receive my acting with open arms.

I was encouraged till the point of dying.

I will be given an answer that is easy to understand if I ask, I learn so many from his words that I don't remember.

But in practice, in actual performance, the number of things I was taught by Kenya-san could not be counted.

The power oozing out from Kenya-san's 'eye' is amazing.

In a blink, it draws in the atmosphere in the top of the stage.

During the play, there were many idle thoughts.

The audiences' eyes, the eyes of the director, if they are in this play what kind of breeze would appear, and what kind of mishaps would happen. Will they be scolded? Will they be praised? Wanting to be praised, wanting to show all the good points.

In the midst of that idle thoughts, I want you to lead me on top of the stage.

Messiah 30 Day Challenge

So here I am telling everyone that I am in love with Messiah Project but I didn’t make the 30 days challenge. Now, after seeing @sambart93 finishing it I found some courage and I want to start the challenge too. I understood about 90% of what is going on in Messiah so if something is wrong…my bad. So for the next 30 day please have patience with me. (This is also my first time doing something like this :D) So here I go.

Messiah 30 day Challenge [Day 1] - Your favorite character

This is not a series in which you find only one character to love. That being said I don’t have 1…I have 3 characters I love. But of course I will start with my #1. (Oh boy, I am going to anger some of you with this one, but what I love is what I love and I can’t do anything lol). Drums please… 

Taadaaa. Yes…Ariga Ryo is the #1 character for me. I tend to fell in love with the characters that has the most tragic life (and after my standards he hits the jackpot). I know…he killed Mamiya (he could help him instead or try to convince him to stop all the terrorist thing but we can’t change anything now). I am attracted to his tragic/dark past (am I a sadist?!) being forced as a child by his adoptive father(?) to kill, being used as a hitmen for the mafia. He basically became a killing machine until he heard Mamiya’s violin. (I know it’s not correct, he was helped by Mamiya and Ariga ends up killing him. As much as I love Ariga I can’t find excuses for this one but still I can’t change things here.)

I am really looking forword to see Yuukyuu no Toki (especially after I read the spoilers…but God 7th of February 2018 is so faaaaar away). Well enough let go to the next one.

Tada. Kagami Itsuki (I think I fell in love with Taishi-kun after seeing him portraying Kagami). At the beginning I was confused…should I love him or hate him for being so cocky? In Shinku no Sho I wanted to punch him when he told Shirasaki to leave Ariga behind (after being shot and poisoned) but calm myself down after he continued, telling Shirasaki that even if he brings Ariga back to the Church, if they don’t know what poison is they can’t help him. Better save if later because if he died everything was over. Anyway, by the end of the movie when he hugged Ariga I was totally in love. He wants to look rough but inside he cares about others. Kagami can be both deadly serious or funny and I can’t imagine somebody else than Sugie portraying him.

And last but not least…

Tsutsumi Reiji.

Hirano Ryo as the son of a terrorist! (I can’t ask for more!!!) I really love his character. I love how he is trying to be by his little brother’s side (but unfortunately it didn’t last long). And his ability…I WANT IT (at least until the exams period are over it’s OK for me :))) and except the fact that he is totally useless in combat and he always needs protection.

He could have had power but preferred not to. Why did he had to die?!

OK…This is all. It’s king of hard to find the perfect word to describe all this things I feel when watching Messiah…because I want to say so many things but I don’t know how. This series is like a Roller Coaster with ups and downs and it’s highly addictive (at least for me). ^^

‘Top 10′ Messiah scenes

a.k.a I went though a bit of nostalgia trip by rewatching (read:skimming through) every Messiah series and list down the first scenes that rewatch in its entirety.

Warning: they’re probably not what you’re expecting.

Dou no Shou:

The opening. Yep.

I think Dou no Shou has the best camera work out of all Messiah stages. This opening is simple compared to the subsequent series, but the brilliant editing successfully turn it into something very special. Each character introduction is done in such a way that allows you to admire the actors up close in all their glory, and we still get to see Messiah’s beautiful action choreography.

Also Dou no Shou is choke full of gems it’s best enjoyed in one sitting :D

Shikkoku no Shou:

I don’t have any particular scene that I am super fond of, but this was the first thing that caught my eye and it totally made my day XD

Higayama: “As expected it’s not that easy of a cipher.”

Pardon my lack of cipher knowledge but I believe Higayama is hiring someone to decipher this code that has a width=“80″ and height=“80″, no border, consisting of bullet points with pictures that are named ‘FREE WORLD’ and ‘lilyhol -omitted-’

Hakugin no Shou:

Shuusuke: “One thing...There is something I would like to ask. What is SAKURA exactly?”

Ichijima: “Hmm, what a peculiar question. You have existed as SAKURA at the level of its leader so to ask such question now of all times, I find it very peculiar.”

Kinda weird how my fondest memory of Hakugin is actually about this scene. Part of it maybe because I’m biased towards Ichijima. But the other part is definitely because this conversation highlights the beauty of SAKURA. Rarely do Messiah go meta, and this is that one rare gem.

Also Ichijima’s asshole personality is so wonderfully displayed and countered by Shuusuke here, it’s lovely <3

Shibi no Shou:

Obvious giveaway answer:

I’ve ranted and translated the entire scene in another post, so I looked around for another scene that caught my interest.

Misu: “I don’t know...Police these days have stupid looking nose got thrown around introduced himself formally and kowtowing. Aren’t you guys supposed to be the pillars of the country!?”

Shibi despite being kinda underrated for being the first series that introduce new characters and the only series that explore the world outside SAKURA, did such a damn good job in making sure Messiah Project lived for another day.

In this particular scene, we have Misu the former terrorist and Takano the police, the two polar opposites that you would expect to kill each other at first sight. And through this scene we are showed that it’s never black and white in Messiah. And that Shuuto is a freaking good actor.

(After writing this I realized that I’ve translated this exact same bit in my Takano Yuuta analysis. I guess my taste hasn’t changed one bit lol)

Eisei no Shou:

Eiri: “Ariga, can I talk to you for a bit?”

Haku: “Shirasaki, you’re with me.”

Yuuri: “What is that about?”

Mamiya: “Beats me.”

“Give the new couple a room” by HakuEiri

Hisui no Shou:

I love every single scene with Misu in Hisui, but nothing can beat the two best action actors in Messiah history going face to face.

Hagane no Shou:

The ending.

- At the start of Hagane, at the bottom of the stage Mamiya began playing his violin and Ariga was training at the top of the stage. - At the end, their positions switched because Mamiya...happened. - HOW THE CREDIT SONG ENDED ABRUPTLY. JUST LIKE MAMIYA’S VIOLIN. JUST LIKE MAMIYA. *TEARS GUSHING* - THAT FINAL STARE ARIGA AND MAMIYA ‘SHARED’ BEFORE THE SCREEN FADED TO BLACK. *NIAGARA FALLS TEARS*

THE BEST CREDIT EVER IN THE ENTIRE MESSIAH HISTORY. nuff said.

Shinku no Shou:

Yuuri: “Are you kidding me--!”

The scenes in the barbershop are lovely, starting from this hide and seek, to the conversation later with Misu. I guess it has something to do with Messiah feeling not like Messiah, chilling and having a lighthearted chitchat by Messiah standard (while praying the barber won’t cut your throat poor Misu XD).

Akatsuki no Toki:

Bias:

Salyut: “Those eyes and that look. That. Looks like I’ll be enjoying it today.”

This is my favorite scene for so many reasons~  - The very sexy way James delivered that line above. - Ariga gets to show his old stance. - The fighting scene is top notch, arguably the 2 best action guys Messiah currently has. - Also arguably the 2 best looking guys Messiah currently has. The fact that they’re like doppelgänger is a huge plus. - The song’s pretty neat - Kogure being damsel. His petite form, his pretty high voice, his rather femine stature, Kogure is so 110% damsel material XD

Non bias:

Ariga: “Since when have I become this weak?!!”

Kagami: “Since you acknowledge this man as your Messiah”

Solely for those two lines above (+ the music). Character development has not been so simple yet so strong since Shibi. It’s really nice.

Polar Night:

Ichijima: “It seems that you have not gotten used to it yet.”

This is foreshadowing done right, Messiah version. It sets up the later plot with Ariga and Mamiya, and it is definitely building up Mayo’s backstory. It also gives us audience enough things to speculate about: the leaves, why Mayo seemed feverish, how Ichijima knows all of this... 

In short, subtle scenes are the best XD
