Merwin Gerard

Season 3 Episode 18 of the television show 'One Step Beyond' was about The Sacred Mushroom. The show went to Mexico with several scientists in order to explore the question of whether magic mushrooms could improve ESP. Although ESP research was on the fringes of psychedelic science, the phenomenon wasn't considered disproven until the 1970s, and several scientists looked into it as a possibility. The primary person pursuing the question in psychedelic circles was Andrija Puharich. Puharich was eventually discredited, but before then, his work attracted the interest of the military, scientists, amateurs, and funders including Aldous Huxley, Humphry Osmond, William Henry Belk and Marcella Miller du Pont (both of whom funded Puharich's work through the Round Table Foundation), Eileen Garrett, and Gordon Wasson.

Puharich is joined hereby Dr. Barbara Brown, a pharmacologist who worked with LSD and later became known for her work on biofeedback.

i read the shadow of sirius by w.s. merwin bc i liked the few poems i had read of his and i really did not like it lol. so repetitive and boring, i can only think of one poem that actually sparked smth in me ("A Note from the Cimmerians")

reread pride & prejudice and was just wowed by austen's writing style all over again. all praise to her writing is incredibly justified <3 also rereading mister impossible before greywaren was v rewarding and made me like the book more

Mit meinen Geografie-Kenntnissen ist es vielleicht nicht weit her, aber soviel weiß ich, daß Chicago am Lake Michigan liegt, einem Binnengewässer! Seehäfen für den Warenverkehr nach Übersee gibt es an der Atlantik- und an der Pazifikküste. Man denkt zum Beispiel an New York oder San Francisco. Wie kann ein Frachter, der über den Atlantik kommt, in den Michigansee gelangen?
