Secret Sleuth - Chapter 5 Start??! (Post 5/5)

As some members prepared themselves to pursue Lau Fei, scrambling to chase them down somehow, and others stood frozen in place, there was a brief interruption in the form of Miku Prime reappearing in the trial room, with Shipwreck Miku this time clinging to her hard, tail uselessly flopping around in the air behind them.

“GET OUT!”

Miku Prime screeched, attempting to pry MerMiku off of her body, when in a flash, everyone zoned out to see both Mikus no longer in the trial room. There was only a second of silence following this.

And soon enough, your own vision was overtaken by a white light, filled with bright particles that clashed with the tone of everything that had just happened, like a rushed fever dream of event after event after event. And yet, you found yourself back where you were prior to the trial, with a moment to breathe. Inhale, exhale. Goddammit, that little shit got away. Where was Erika? Was she ok? And what was with that giant bird, anyway?

:Erika: uh :Erika: I’m okay, I’m in the OTR SEKAI :Erika: Idk what happens now or where y’all are but I’m okay

But how were you even supposed to get back into Lau Fei’s SEKAI after this? You’d only ever entered via Miku Prime summoning you in. Just as this thought came to mind, you received a text message on your phone from an unfamiliar number.

The link looked similar to what you’ve seen before. It’s an Untitled song link into a SEKAI, but it doesn’t match any of the existing ones. Was this into Lau Fei’s SEKAI? But who was sending this? And why? Maybe it was a trap, but Miku Prime had no need to do such things when she could just pull you in. And Lau Fei had seemed all too eager to get away from everyone. 

So who sent this?

The only way to learn that was to press the link. 

…Perhaps, it would be best done in groups, then, rather than by yourselves. It didn’t feel best to put this off for long, and yet… perhaps you would have some short time to prepare yourselves or rest, if you were able. Or, for some of you, perhaps you had things you needed to get off your chest with one another.

Regardless, one thing was becoming more certain now, with the failure of Erika’s execution and the outing of Lau Fei’s role in all of this… 

It felt as though an end to this madness was now within sight. Now, you only had to figure out how to reach it.
