Continuing the tradition from my old blog (which has been unceremoniously deleted by tumblr without much of an explanation why) I’m doing daily posts during June to celebrate LGBTQIA+ pride by showcasing openly LGBTQIA+ celebrities and various content about or created by LGBTQIA+ people such as music videos, characters on TV shows, movie trailers, …

Picture this, it's summer. But you're stuck at the most boring job in the world and suddenly, you remember somebody from your past. Someone you knew. Someone who was dear to you. A love you wasted.

So I made a Merlí and Un Professore crossover back in 2022.

Not a lot of people really read it. I mean...It probably sounds gimmicky. But I'm very proud of it. So I'm going to take advantage of this new Un Professore season to redirect you all to it.

The story? It's Pol roaming the streets of Rome to look for Bruno. Along the way he bumps into Manuel who, similar to him, has hit a snag in his life. The two form an unlikely friendship and hopefully, along the way, find healing together.

La realidad es pesimista - Otro gran titular. La Filosofía empezó empezó así, la gente observaba la realidad y se preguntaba "¿de que vá esta forma angustiante que es la vida?"

Para estar desorientado en la vida no hace falta esta foto del universo, basta con mirarse la mano, yo a veces me miro la mano, pienso "¿porqué es así?¿cómo puede ser que haya millones de manos en el mundo con el mismo aspecto y que a la vez sea única?".

I'm pretty much not here (or barely in any social media site tbh) lately. But let me tell you that if you go to Ao3 I may have started writing another Brunol fic...3 years later. "Lo que nos dicte el corazón" is my take in fixing all that mess that it's Merlí Sapere Aude and I'll try my very best to give the story we deserved. Updates won't be regular as Real Life ™ is and has been A THING for the last few years but I'm going to try to be as regular as possible.

I recently watched “The Man from Rome” (2022), a Spanish-Italian-Colombian co-production (filmed in English) about a priest (Richard Armitage) sent by the Vatican to investigate a series of deaths in a centuries-old church in Spain. It’s a fairly by-the-numbers mystery/thriller, with some surprising plot twists and fine performances by Armitage and Paul Guilfoyle. The main reason to watch it is Carlos Cuevas, who plays a young priest who is also an anti-hacker computer geek. (Carlos is the star of two series on Netflix that I love: “Smiley” and “Merlí: Sapere Aude.”)

Merlí Sapere Aude

Rating: no everybody fuck off this was amazing. 20/10. 1000/10. I loved this so much. I'm extremely biased of course because it was just so so so relatable (just being gay and in uni but not wanting to grow up from that, everything else was unrelatable: being pretty, having a love interest, skinny dipping in your insanely wealthy friend's swimming pool). but yea who cares about giving objective balanced reviews right?

My absolute favourite, my absoLUTE fucking favourite scene was when Pol and Axel were riding their bicycles. Just. oh my god. the piano, I'm getting goosebumps remembering it now. It just made me feel like I was watching the sound of music, that old-timey style of film, but gay. like newsflash, faggots can be in love! and it can just be a silly little bike ride in the country side. who knew!

It's been a while since I watched it, so I can't really recall the faults, except one, that still bugs me to this day. Whenever what's-her-face, the prof, Bolaňa? Whenever her daughter (who I think has down-syndrome) is on screen, they play this sly, inquisitive orchestral music. It's extremely condescending. Actually, typing this out, I feel like I've already written a review.
