Tfw you're a dude who found what you thought was a weird fish like 10 yrs ago and you let it live in a fish tank for a yr or two before transferring it to a swimming pool and trying to keep it hidden aND ITS GROWN TO AN ENORMOUS SIZE WITH ZERO EXPLANATION, and after going through a whole Free Willy arc and getting the townspeople to see your fishy friend as a non-threat, said fish randomly develops a craving for human flesh and you nearly get nommed

Merjuly 07 - Capital 🎆 The jewel of the seven seas is a giant city of many suburbs and the blue palace of the Queens in the middle, inside the most beautiful botanical gardens. The suburbs are organized by guild and they are surrounded by seaweed crops and coral reefs. As it's the central hub of all merfolk trade and where most governmental bodies are, its population is estimated in the millions. Its location is top secret, never shown on any maps and merfolk can locate it like whales do, following the memories of their ancestors in a long-forgotten journey…

Aquarium AU —> ✨MerEclipse✨

MerEclipse is a giant octopus mermaid/ceceliae, their full design is here

First, some character backstory and world building:

Sea people have been fighting against Humans for centuries, and Eclipse was one of the strongest warriors

They were the infamous sea monster, they chase away the intruders who dare come across and protect their people

But unfortunately, the sea people lost the fight, humans hunt them down till almost extinct, the ones who survived live in the shadow far away from the land

During the war, sea people developed implantable technology to help them win the war, it worked well but also destroyed them from inside

(Okay so I’m not good with words if this doesn’t make sense please tell me I’ll try to explain)

Eclipse didn’t die during the war they got pinned to the bottom of the ocean, and trapped there until one day their power runs out

Note: *this is before the two got captured by the aquarium, so they’re still in the ocean at this point!!

That day, they big guy made two friends

Eclipse often tell stories of their past

this is where Moon’s pirate(?) obsession came from

(The two haven’t seen Eclipse since they got captured and they miss their old friend)

This has been laying in my google doc for too long finally I have the energy to draw em
