I’ve apparently become a Merintosh shipper in the Once Upon a Time universe and I don’t know how or why. Macintosh is in 2 eps of the show with one of them being where he (along with others) kidnapped the triplets and nearly killed them to get Merida to give up the throne. Majority of his scenes is him showing how he doesn’t accept/respect her until the end where they have a tiny moment and he’s seemingly has become one of her biggest supporters and I’m left shipping these two? I don’t understand the things I do but here I am thinking of them.

Thank you to all who voted. There were 8 themes that people voted for. The themes that had the most votes are: Soulmate, Land of Untold Stories Arrives, and Wedding. The others only had 1 vote each: Dark!Merida/Dark!Macintosh, Fake Relationship, Modern, Pregnancy/Children, and Macintosh came with Merida to Storybrooke.

hey uhh.... i’m avoiding homework in an effort to not have a full blown mental breakdown, anyone wanna send me merintosh prompts to write for the next couple of hours?

I started rewatching OUAT recently and fell headfirst into the Merintosh trashcan, so you will be hearing from me a lot now 😊. Though firstly I have to ask to see if I missed it. So Fergus was killed by Arthur and then 2 years passed before Merida's brothers were kidnapped, and she became Queen. What the hell happened in those 2 years that made the other clans go to such drastic measures!?

Hello darling and welcome to the trashclan! We’re a small bunch but that’s alright. These two Scottish dorks in love have captured my heart and I will forever be stuck in this trashheap (which is quite alright by me). Also I’m sorry this has taken me like, three days to respond to. You caught me at the tail end of my vacation to Disney and I’m just now returning to normal brain functions lol.Okay, so first off…I have no idea if that timeline is accurate. Timelines on OUAT are a beast unto themselves and if somebody with a better brain than me can figure it out, more power to them. So whether it was two years or some other indistinguishable time frame…we know that something happened between when Fergus was killed and the kidnapping. (To note: it’s always sort of struck me as odd that the lads would rebel against Merida because that…genuinely doesn’t seem like something they’d do. I’ve had very long conversations with various fandom friends on the subject on the how’s and why’s.)BUT TO YOUR QUESTION: what, exactly, happened in that time period to make them turn against Merida? The short answer that I’ve come to is Mac, Guff and Ding truly don’t believe Merida to be the best thing for the kingdom. She wasn’t at the battle against the Southern Invaders, even though they all knew she was there (whether or not they knew Fergus was the one keeping her from the battle is something else entirely) and she didn’t seem to be taking the whole thing seriously. So to me, that is at least the biggest motivating factor I can see. I do not think the lads would just one day up and decide that Merida was not fit to be queen, there has to be some sort of reason. And it would have to be a hella good one at that. To my thinking, the only thing that seems to be a decent enough motivating factor is if they really and truly thought Merida was not the best leader for their kingdom. Um…that was a very long answer. And probably not very eloquent. I have a lot of thoughts on these characters and have spent more hours than I care to think about talking with various people who have waaaay more knowledge and authority on these topics than I. But I hope that answer was (kinda) helpful and please feel free to continue sending me messages or DM me. I’m always up for chatting. Esp about Merintosh lol.
